I have ordered from them before and had positive experiences. Ordered an ATI 9600XT video card. They sent me an nVidia 5600XT - not even in the same league, much less for the price. That's OK, mistakes happen. What's NOT OK is when they don't answer any e-mails or call back for messages left. I have had 0 luck contacting them since. Will never shop there again. Look at their 6-month vs. lifetime ratings and you can see these guys are going DOWN.

Received two defective surplus flat monitors. Multiple problems. Emailed, called and answered their questions.I did additional tests as directed. No results. No response from "Danny" again. Return rules (on download form) shows they have no intention of ever crediting anyone.NO NOT order from this company. They will rob you. Had minor ($15 overcharge) problem with previous order. I should have know better than to order again.

Waited 5 days before they sent me a cancellation. After they had acknowledged my order and charged the card. There are much better companies to do business with. Time to move on.

I've had a terrible experience with this company trying to find out what's going on with some software I purchased. I've send several emails with no response. All you get when you call their phone number is that their mailbox is full. It's too bad a company that does business like this is still around. STAY AWAY!!!

Do not do business with this store. I purchased a motherboard from them on 12/24/06. I never heard anything from them about the purchase. I placed another order from them on 12/26/06 for another item. Once again I heard nothing. I should have known better to order again, but it seemed like a great price. Anyway, I have sent 3 emails inquiring about my order and received no responses. I have called twice, but the voicemail mailbox is full and I am unable to leave a message. Today, I sent a FAX asking what is going on, and received no reply. Luckily, my credit card has not been charged; and I hope it stays that way. This store is non communicative to say the least. I have wasted time with them, and because of the non communication, I do not know whether to order a motherboard from another vendor since I don't want to end up with two. I know if I do, it will be impossible to return the one from Surplus Computers, so I will be stuck with it. Since I have never received anything from them, I can't rate their product, but this store is not worth the trouble, and I will not order from them again. I wish I had read the other reviews on this store before placing an order.
1/11/07 Update
The saga continues. Since I had not heard from anyone at this company, I sent a cancellation email to them on 1/5/07. Again, I heard nothing from them. The motherboard I ordered from another vendor arrived on the morning of 1/11/07, and I thought I was done with Surplus Computers. However, on the afternoon of 1/11/07, the motherboard from Surplus Computers arrived by UPS. The UPS tracking number indicates the board was shipped on 1/8/07; 3 days after I sent my cancellation email. My charge card has been charged. I called the company and finally got a human being; who was very rude. She kept transferring me to voicemail (3X), and I kept calling back. I called again and asked to talk to a person, and I am sure she hung up on me. I waited awhile and called back, and punched in a number for Sales, and got through to a person. Basically, the guy told me they had been moving and all my emails, Faxes and phone calls were not even recognized because they posted this info about moving on their homepage. I did not see anything on their website to this effect when I ordered. Anyway this guy was also rude; as I became as the conversation continued. When I talked about returning the item, and contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge (since I contacted them to cancel the order 3 days before they shipped it), I got a vague threat about causing me credit problems if I did that. He suggested I send an email to the same black hole I had been sending to in order to see if they will take the board back. I did this yesterday, and again have heard nothing. Big surprise!
To make matters worse, I finally opened the package from them thinking I could at least resell the board they sent and not have to deal with them anymore. The motherboard is visibly defective. There are 7 large capacitors that have leaked (big time), so I know the board will not work; without even having to test it. The defects are so obvious that I cannot believe they did not notice them. So, I cannot even resell it.
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORSE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD DEALING WITH AN ONLINE OR RETAIL COMPANY.
2/12/07 UPDATE
I finally got my first email response from this company on 1/12/07. It was from Jadi in the RMA department with an apology that my order was not cancelled in time. Over the next week, Jadi and I emailed several times to try to determine what could be done. I emailed pictures of the defective board. I refused to complete their RMA form with the blanket authorization to charge my credit card for additional shipping and/or repair charges.
On 1/19/07, Jadi sent me an RMA number and offered a FULL REFUND; this included shipping and NO RESTOCKING CHARGE. In addition, Jadi sent me a prepaid UPS label to return the board.
I returned the board on 1/19/07, and UPS delivered it on 1/26/07. On 2/7/07, I checked my credit card for a credit, and did not find anything from Surplus Computers. I emailed Jadi again and received a quick response that the RMA department had not yet received the item???? So, I emailed them the UPS tracking number showing a delivery date of 1/26/07. Jadi confirmed that it had been received and emailed me that he would process the paperwork and to expect a full refund in about a week. The FULL REFUND including my shipping charges appeared on my card on 2/12/07.
So, bottom line is that I got my money back. This turned out to be an extremely difficult process for what should have been a simple purchase and return. The explanation that the company was moving during the time I originally ordered the part, and their email system and phones were down is not really a valid explantion to me. After I finally got a live contact in the company, things moved along, although slower than I would have preferred. I think in the future, I will stick with companies that have a better reputation, such as NewEgg This review was modified by its author, locutus3, on

I place my order on 12/14/06 and received a confirmation email, since that day nothing. Called them on the phone and was told to go to their site and send a email to WEBSALES, I've sent 2 emails and no luck. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS SITE, save your money and time. I made a purchase about a year ago. I never received the item I purchased, though my credit card was charged. Also, not one of their email accounts that I emailed ever responded to my emails. I called the credit card company, got their phone number, and ended up speaking with an answering machine and never got a call back. I'll never order from them again!

I'm a regular of this store and recently ordered various parts. Got shipped incorrect USB cable connections and a cable was missing. Emailed the company and Larry was quick to respond saying the new items would be sent shortly. Received via ups as expected. An excellent merchant.

Ordered a new Intel P4 Socket 478 CPU Fan. Received a used warped plastic fan housing that was worthless. As this is a surplus computer business I didn't exspect a new fan but at least a serviceable item. As the time and cost to return it was more than the fan was worth I will junk it as I'm sure they exspect. Stay away from this one.

I ordered the item on June 26th. The website had no way of tracking the order and I only got an e-mail just confirming the order with the price. On July 4th, I got an e-mail telling me that the item shipped via USPS on the 3rd. I finally received the item on the 6th with no problems.

Ordered Logitech Wireless Headphones for Apple iPod on 6/15, received on 6/20, shipping is quite quick. The product is listed as "new" on website, but the product I received is definitely anything but new. There is a marker-pen checkmark on the right ear piece, which doesn't have the "sponge thingie" attached on it, like the left ear piece. And the warranty is crossed out. I emailed them complain about the "refurbished" product they sent me, but they insist it is "new", just not "boxed" but "oem bulk". They can call it whatever they want, but from what I can see, it's not new. Worst of all, I bought from them because I expect this will qualify for $50 rebate from Logitech. Well, there is no box, which means no UPC, and that means no rebate... I should have buy from Amazon, after $50 rebate, it's 35% cheaper than Surplus' price. I requested a return, they want to charge me 20% restocking fee. I was thinking to dispute this with my credit card company, but decided not to waste any more time on this as it's just $40. Will never buy from Surplus any more.

Their Web Site shows condition NEW. But they shipped me used PC Card Adapter PCMCIA. Also they sent me a blank CD instead of Atari Anniversary Edition. Very bad seller and not trustworthy.

I orderered two items. An MP3 player and a bluetooth headset. Decent prices. So I go online and order them.
I do not receive a confirmation email of my purchase. Five days later, still nothing. After 2 emails (since you can't check on an order on thier site) I finally get a response that the product I ordered was out of stock. I wasn't informaed of this, it was not listed as out of stock on the site.
So, I ask about the other item. I am told that the second item IS in stock and when both are in stock, they will ship, maybe monday. So, from order to ship will be over a week, and then I have to wait for the product.
Of course I only discovered this after I contacted them.
This is not an isolated event. I had purchased something else from them a few weeks earlier and got the same exact thing. I wrote off the first time as a mistake, but its not, its how they do business. Nothing in stock, keep the customer in the dark, and take as long as possible to respond.
