Please beware of this company. I attemped to register a domain recently and four times it failed - each failure reportedly costing me 0.00$. WRONG - $9.99 charges for all four failed attempted to by the same domain, customer service will not respond and the phone help seems to be chronically offline. I am writing this to warn people to stay away from this, and avoid the troubles myself and many others are going through.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH REGISTERFLY - THEY **WILL** RIP YOU OFF!

I paid for two renewals this past Monday, and will most likely lose the domains. They now show as expired, so I'm unable to get the authorization codes I need to transfer them to another registrar. RegisterFly does not respond to support requests.

How to get the authorization number for your domains so you can transfer them to another registrar:

1) Log on to your RegisterFly account
2) Click the "Manage Domains" tab
3) Click the domain you wish to transfer
4) Click the plus sign to the right of the Domain Contact Information field
5) Click the blue "Configure" button at the bottom of the entry
6) The authorization code will be at the bottom left of the displayed information

Unfortunately, if your domains have expired, you can't get the authorization code. I would strongly advise you NOT wait and see if RegisterFly recovers from this, unless you want to risk losing your domains for good or having to pay big bucks to get them back.

Every time I went online to renew the domain, the website would not let me check out. The domain expired, and eventually the website worked well enough that I was able to renew it at a higher rate.

Now they are showing that they never received payment even though I have a receipt and I have a charge on my credit card.

This company no longer has anyone answering the phones and are likely going out of business very soon.

This is one of the worst online companies I have ever dealt with.

I registered a domain name with them and paid to renew it earlier this month. I got an email saying the renewal failed, no reason given. How can a renewal fail when the domain hasn't expired, the info is correct and hasn't changed, etc?

I put in a help desk ticket asking for an explanation. It was closed without a reply. I put in another one that was also ignored.

I put in a claim with Paypal and got a refund (probably due to Paypal's efforts, not Registerfly's).

Now I'm trying to transfer the name to another registrar, but I need an "auth code", which I'm supposed to get from Registerly. I put in a help desk ticket asking for that 3 days ago, still no reply.

Please, don't give this company any business! Just look at all the horror stories here.

I tried to renew a website five times(!), all five attempts failed. Why? I don't know, their systems never told me and their support had no idea.

I was charged all 5 times, only good thing I can say about registerfly is that they did refund my money on request.

Trying to get ahold of support takes hours (literally). I tried holding on the phone for 2 hours before I gave up, then switched over to live support for another 3 before I was able to talk to someone.

Their suggestion was to "keep trying".

Luckly, I was able to tranfer my domain name away from Registerfly in time to renew it.

I highly recommend you avoid using them. Purchasing a domain name works just fine on their systems, renewals do not. The support problems at Registerfly have existed for a *long* time, plenty of time for them to correct it. But they refuse to!

Stay away!

As of this week, I transferred ALL domains away from this company. Their customer service has been terribly unresponsive, and their renew/transfer process appears to be broken. (Registerfly used to be reseller of another registrar, eNom. They have since become a registrar in their own right. So to renew a domain that was registered under the old regime, a transfer is part of the process, even though Registerfly is on both sides of the transaction.)

To get the renewal/transfer process resolved, it took repeated phone calls at long distance rates, and in at least a couple of occasions, I would wait on hold for extended periods prior to being hung up on--and at one point my domain actually expired. A related issue was what the expiration date as shown as Registerfly's control panel was at odds with the same date as shown in my "whois" data.

But as bad as they seem to be with phone responses, they appear to be worse when it comes to opening trouble tickets. As to those, Registerfly tends to want to close these out unresolved, and in at least one instance, deleted the ticket entirely. Their practice is to respond to the ticket and then set it to auto-close the same day, so it is necessary to respond to the ticket to leave it open.

The most bizarre part was that at one point they posted daily credits to my account in the form of a "Quick Pay" balance, yet they still would not respond to plainly worded trouble tickets on the issue.

They are not simply the worst registrar. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, internet or otherwise, ANY industry, EVER.

I guarantee you this is exactly what is happening between Registerfly & Enom in this "Domain Renewal" scam they are running:

Registerfly steals your money & claims to be having server issues...which is why your renewal is "taking longer than expected" Then they tell you to "wait" a couple more days, over and over.

Meanwhile your domain expires.

On the 31st day after your domain has expired, Enom "auctions" your domain to a "client" (Registerfly) who "is not willing to sell at this time."

You lose your domain & your traffic. I'm sure later they will be willing to offer it back to you, as someone else said "for hundreds of dollars."

The ONLY way to avoid this is to AVOID Registerfly altogether or TRANSFER out while you still can!!!!

Our personal sob story is very simple:
Paid to renew our domain, got jacked around by Registerfly, domain NEVER renewed, paid enom $160 to "redeem" our domain once Registerfly allowed it to go into expiration. The VERY SAME day that our credit card was charged by enom, Registerfly FINALLY renewed our domain.

We lost traffic & email for OVER A MONTH.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Does anybody know of any lawyers handling this type of case? I smell a class-action coming up...

STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!
I registered 2 domains with them. When time came to renew registration this year, they did not let me do it.
They wouldn't let me pay at first, all kinds of payment got rejected (MasterCard, Visa, Paypal). They kept saying they have issues with renewal process with registrar.
6 Support tickers and 2 calls later (every time waiting for 2 hours on the phone), after 3 week long attempts I have finally managed to pay for my domains renewal on 12/09.
But after waiting for several and not seeing my domains registered I contacted their support again on 12/13 and they told me that "The renewal process for your domains is submitted to queue. Please allow 48 hours for the process to get completed successfully." This went on like that 3 more times, every time they told me to wait 48 hours. Now my domains are completely lost !!! The last support ticket that I filed several days before my domains got lost begging them to do something about it did not get anyresponse until it was too late. The day after domains were lost I got this reply from tech support:
**************************
Please be advised that your domain is in redemption with the registry and cannot be renewed at this time. This happens when the 1 year validity period expires as well as the 29 day grace period. A successful renewal must go through to the registry before the end of the 29 day grace period. The name can be held in redemption for a period of 60 days to 9 months before it is released to be registered by the public. If you would like to bring your name out of redemption before that period ends a fee of 209.00 will have to be paid to the registry. If you would like to explore this option please contact us so that the proper arrangements can be made.

I have purchased many domain names and services
from Registerfly. They are the abosolute worst.
Right now one of my domain expired because their renewal system is down. I basically have lost control of my domain. I cannot renew it, I cannot transfer it and they have their place holder page with their affiliate programs showing when you type my domain. So they make money from it. Customer service has hung up on me twice. after I was on hold for one hour. It has been 4 days. For a good time try Registerfly.com .

If you have domains registered at RegisterFly i would advise you to transfer them away A.S.A.P.! Thank god we don't use their hosting and DNS services... so no experience with that. But they are by far the worst registrar to have your domains with.
- They overcharged my creditcard because their renewal system is crap! We have lost 3 domains due to their incompetence.
- The control panel is always slow
- And don't even ask about their rude "support" answers (after 2 - 3 days!) when opening a support ticket. Or trying in contact with their non existing "live support chat"

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Registerfly used to be an ENOM reseller, but is now a "real" registar - so if you renew any domains, they will actually be TRANSFERRED from the ENOM registar to REGISTERFLY.
This will result in NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. Registerfly will not tell you what they are doing, and if you use their nameservers, your site WILL BECOME UNAVAILABLE TO ANYONE USING THE INTERNET!

Take a look at the WHOIS for Registerfly itself - they do not use their own service, Registerfly.com is registered via ENOM which is very reliable.
This company is clearly in trouble as a Google search for 'Registerfly' reveals nothing but complaints after the first search result which is for the Registerfly site itself.

Without a doubt, the worst reseller I have ever used.

-----------
Update: I requested a refund of the few dollars remaining in my account, and they said "No." I sent email after email, asking why they wouldn't return my money (less than $10!), and they never replied.

I sent a Better Business Bureau complaint, and RegisterFly never followed up with the BBB, so they have YET ANOTHER bad BBB rating on file. I strongly encourage anyone who has a legitimate problem with them to do as I did: complain to the BBB, the New Jersey Attorney General's office, and on "ratings" sites such as this.

RegisterFly is absolutely horrible.

registerfly.com hosting is atrocious. First they put me on a server with no PTR record so I could not send e-mail to about half the mailservers on the Internet because there was no reverse DNS for my mailserver. After complaining for two weeks, they moved me to a new server and lost all my content in the process.

The new server had 3 outages in 2 weeks. One of the outages lasted almost a week and they kept telling me that they were working on the problem. Finally I asked to be moved to another server which they did, but all my content was lost again and I had to start over.

The 3rd server they put me on ran fine for almost a week and then it started having outages again. Outages which would last anywhere from 2 to 24 hours before they would restart the plesk software and it would run again for a few hours and then crash.

I finally gave up and asked for a refund for hosting on my 2 domains. Well they cancelled my accounts including the site builder that I paid for but never refunded my money, more than $150.00. So I have since started migrating my domains to godaddy.com. However, I have one of my domains that I have had for over 6 years and it is in CLIENT TRANSFER PROHIBITED status so I cannot transfer it. I have opened 4 tickets on the same issue. Three of the 4 tickets have been closed with no resolution and my domain is still stuck with registerfly.com.

Their entire DNS server was down for 3 days. I opened a ticket to ask for a explanation of the outage. They removed the ticket from the support page and refused to tell me what happened.

Buyer beware! Don't host your domains with these guys they are idiots!
