Same as everyone else complaints. Showed items in stock & weren't (I ordered by phone just to make sure) Customer service LIED & said in stock. Called every week-LIED & said in stock & ready to ship. NO ONE ever answers phone there. Finally recieved items 2 months later. They should not charge your credit card until order is SHIPPED! Will not order again.

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. Ordered on Nov 1 and all items were shown as in stock. On the 4th of Nov I received a cancellation notice of the majority of my order because the item was no longer available. I responded and requested that they be sure to adjust the shipping to reflect the lower order value. I received only automated replies - never an actual response. On the 7th my credit card was charged but the item has still not shipped on the 11th. Despite my alerting them to the need to adjust the shipping, I was charged shipping based on the original order amount (over a 100% difference in value of order). Spent over 20 minutes on the phone with almost unintelligible customer rep who struggled to calculate the difference. I will watch my credit account carefully and see if I am credited for the over-charge on shipping. NEVER AGAIN for this company!

I placed an order with Lakeside Collections on 8/20/08 for something that was to be a birthday present for someone. From 8/21 through 8/26 the item status was "READY TO SHIP" with no reason for not shipping. Since the item was in stock, and not being shipped I got concerned about it being received on time so I cancelled the order and purchased the item locally. The company responded by telling me the item had shipped on 8/26 so cancellation was impossible. On 8/28/08 the company finally provided me with tracking information. As of this morning 8/29/08 The tracking information shows only that shipper has been notified to pick of package, and there is no scan from the shipper showing it was picked up from Lakeside. This company processed my payment on 8/21 and has done absolutely nothing to earn the payment. The company obviously believes the public is too stupid to read and understand the documentation they provide. I feel at this point that this company has fleeced me. I am sure they feel that if they drag this out long enough, the item will ship and I will shut up. There is no chance of that. The emails back and forth show that this is clearly not a mistake on their part, but a deliberate attempt to ignore my cancellation.

I have ordered from Lakeside three times in the past year. Basically, Lakeside has a wonderful selection of gifts at unbelievable prices. And they are the epitemy of "If its too good to be true, it probablly is".  
 
My first order from them was a gift for my Mother from my son, for Mother's Day. I ordered the item over three weeks in advance, which I assumed (first mistake) would be plenty of time. Two days after I place my order I still had not recieved any confirmation from Lakeside, so I went to their website to check my order status. Imagine my surprise when I found my item on backorder. I called Lakeside, and after speaking with three very rude customer supports reps, I was transfered to a supervisor. I was told that my problem was not unusual and that it was, basically, "too bad". I was told my item had an expected ship date of four weeks later. So at the time I just went out and purchased another gift and gave this item to my mother when it finally arrived, almost a month later. I did, however, ask a supervisor how I could prevent this from happening again and I was told if I placed my order over the phone I could avoid ordering backordered items.  
 
The second time I placed an order the same exact thing happened. The item was backordered with an expected shipping date of nearly three months later! I wound up calling and cancelling my order, and after waiting a week or so without any refund to my credit card I called to inquire about the status of my refund. Apparently, they "forgot" to issue a refund. After two weeks I filed a claim with my bank and the money was returned. I have never had to go through that much trouble for a refund.  
 
I should have learned my lesson after that, but I happened to come across an email and found an item that would have made a perfect gift for an upcoming birthday. This time I called Lakeside to confirm that all of my items were in stock, and then placed my order. Three days later - lo and behold - one of my items is on backorder. I call to ask how this happened and I am forced to deal with a nasty customer rep who told me that it did not matter if I was told the items were in stock, obviously that person was wrong. I was transferred to a supervisor who told me I must be lying about calling to check the stock. I wound up ending the phone call after that, and called back later on that afternoon to cancel my entire order. I was told I could only cancel the backordered item as the others were scheduled to ship the next morning, so I cancelled the one backordered item. Unfortunetly I was not suprised this morning to find the items still had not shipped. After calling Lakeside I was told that they normally offer "temporary shipping dates" that are likely to change and are not a garantee of shipment. I was told my item would ship out this week, and that considering it had only been 6 days since I placed my order I was recieiving "extremely expeditied service" (6 days and they can't even tell me when my order will ship!). Moving on to the refund I should be recieving for the cancelled backordered item, I was told I would be issued a refund of $2 for the difference in shipping costs. When I inquired about the refund of the actual item cost at first they couldn't figure out how much I should be getting (item cost + $2 shipping. I was put on hold so that the rep could leave his work station to find a calculator), then they could not confirm with me when the refund would be issued.  
 
As it stands, I have no items, no shipping date, no refund or even promise of a refund, so I am expecting to recieve my items (hopefully) in the next month or so, and I am not even expecting to get a refund at this point. Yes, the item prices were unbeatable, but the sheer amount of time and energy I have had to waste chasing this company down had made it far too costly.  
 
 
**UPDATE** I finally recieved my items after more than 2 dozen phone calls to Lakeside. Customer service reps had NO idea what was going on and the two supervisors I was constantly transferred to were unbelievably rude. I finally turned to the Better Business Bureau, where I found out this company has over 500 recent complaints. I filed my own complaint, and urge others to do the same after bad experiences with this company! One of my items was damaged (not during shipping. The front of the book looked like it was cut with a box cutter, most likey in the warehouse). I contacted Lakeside and was told I would recieve a replacement. That was 2 weeks ago. No one can tell me the status of my replacment. I spoke to the supervisor of the call center, after many demands to speak to someone with more authority. She was very kind, but confirmed that there was nothing she could do about my replacement or the lack of help and rude treatment I recieved. This company needs to pull themselves together. It is a shame they have been allowed to get away with thise so long! I need the book by October 3rd, but have serious doubts about recieving it.

Very cheap merchandise. One item arrived broken and another damaged. Company unresponsive to 3 e-mails and finally replied to the 4th where I was asking for direction as to what to do. I followed the return directions paying $7.70 to return a $11.95 item. Company didn't credit me the full $7.70 for return shipping. Unresponsive to 3 e-mails I sent asking for an explanation as to the amount refunded. I will definitely NOT be doing anymore business with this place!!

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE BEEN STUPID ENOUGH TO DO SO THERE IS ALWAYS A PROBLEM - EVERYTHING'S BAD QUALITY AND SHIPPED A MONTH LATE.  
 
THEY ARE THIEVES, THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN NEVER SHIP YOUR STUFF, AND WHEN YOU TRY TO ASK THEM WHY THEY BOTHERED TO SEND YOU A TRACKING NUMBER WHEN THEY HAVEN'T EVEN NOTIFIED UPS YET, ALL YOU GET IS PUT ON HOLD FOR 15 MINUTES BY SOME DUMB IMMIGRANT WHO CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH.  
 
YOU WOULD THINK IN THIS ECONOMY EVERY COMPANY IN AMERICA WOULD MAKE CUSTOMER SERVICE A PRIORITY SO THAT THEY CAN GET REPEAT BUSINESS, BUT NOT LAKESIDE COLLECTION, WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THE "COMPANY" IS JUST SOME BILLIONAIRE'S SIDE PROJECT. THEY DON'T PROVIDE QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND CERTAINLY DON'T NEED THEM!

I have ordered from Lakeside in the past, and I have had *mostly* decent things to say. I DID have the problem where my order was cancelled - but after replacing the order, I did receive my item.  
 
This time, I ordered a desk. After 2 weeks of waiting, it was shipped UPS...and it ALMOST got to my house, then mysteriously it was whisked to the other side of the country and delivered. UPS was unable to help me and said I would need to contact the shipper. Which I did, only to find out that my item was shipped to Lakeside Collection's warehouse!!! I was SHOCKED. I was told that it was returned to Lakeside by UPS because I had a PO Box listed instead of a street address. I talked to a supervisor who made the whole mess seem like it was not because of Lakeside Collection AT ALL. I was told that once the desk was logged in at the warehouse, it would be shipped out immediately with my proper shipping address. Well, after 3 days, I still had not received a shipping notice, so I called them back. I talked to several very unhelpful Customer Representatives, supervisors, and this went on until I talked to the Supervisor's supervisor (which took over 24 hours to be able to speak with her...hmmmm)  
 
When I spoke with this higher up supervisor, she told me that my desk had been returned to them (which OF COURSE I knew), and that unfortunately, it was shipped to someone else who had the item on backorder, and that they had ABSOLUTELY NO desks in stock, and it would be another month before they received their next shipment....!!! Mind you, they had my money, and sold MY desk to someone else. She did refund my money, and I told her to cancel my other backorders, but in no way made up for the fact that they incorrectly shipped my merchandise and then sold it to someone else.  
 
I will NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from this company again!!

EXCELLENT SERVICE, GREAT ITEMS!! I PLACED MY ORDER ON MONDAY THE 7TH AND HAD IT IN MY HOME BY FRIDAY THE 11TH!! AWESOME SERVICE AND NICE ITEMS. I HAVE ORDERED FROM LAKESIDE MANY TIMES AND I HAVE NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THIS COMPANY!

The shipping process is horrible. I ordred on May 27 2008 and here it is June 5 2008 and the items have yet to leave the warehouse to UPS. When I try to inquire about it they say it can take up to 14 days before the item is proccessed and ready to ship and then allow another 15 days for the carrier to deliver the items to you. Oh come on a month for instock items. I will never recommend them or order from them again. I ordred my daughters bday present and its on Sunday and well I have to go get something else as the item hasnt even left the warehouse yet geez. Oh and my credit card has been charged and it has posted to the account. Still waiting for a credit for shipping charges for an item that was on back ordred that I canceled.

ON NOV 30 2007- I PLACE A LARGE ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE FROM A CATALOG THAT I RECIEVED IN THE MAIL. THE ORDER WAS FOR MY DAUGHTERS CHRISTMAS. WHEN ORDER WAS RECIEVED. ONE OF THE ITEMS WAS A GIRLS GUITAR. THEY HAD CHARGED ME TWICE FOR THIS ITEM SEPARATLY. BUT ON INVOICE IT STATED ITEM DISCONTIUED. THE OTHER ITEMS I WAS CHARGED 147.96 FOR THEM. PAID IN FULL BY DEBIT CARD. (I HAVE INVOICE AND BANK STATEMENTS.) THERE WAS ALSO TWO ITEMS THAT WHERE DAMAGED AND RETURNED. NO PAYMENT RECIEVED FOR THEM YET.  
 
ANYWAY- THIS WEEK 02/06/2008 I RECIEVE A BILL FROM THEM FOR 138.38 FOR THE SAME ITEMS THAT I PAID FOR IN NOV OF 2007.  
 
I CONTACTED THEM TODAY. THE CUSTOMER REP WAS VERY RUDE AND COULD SPEAK VERY LITTLE ENGLISH. I ASKED HER NAME WITH NO LUCK. I TOLD HER THAT I DIDN'T OWE THIS BILL, THAT IT HAD ALREADY BEEN CHARGED TO MY ACCOUNT, (MORE THAN WHAT THIS BILL WAS CHARGING). EVERYTIME TIME I TOLD HER THAT I HAD A PAID INVOICE AND BANK STATMENT, SHE TRIED TO TALK OVER ME. SHE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEAK WITHOUT HER TALKING OVER ME. HALF OF THE CONVERSATION SHE WAS SPEAKING WAS IN SPANISH. SHE TOLD ME THAT SHE DIDN'T CARE, I OWED THE MONEY, AND THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO BILL ME, THAT I OWED IT AND THEN SOMETHING IN SPANISH. I'M 41 YEARS OLD AND WAS BORN AND RAISED IN THIS COUNTRY. I AM VERY SORRY THAT I SPEAK ENGLISH THE LANGUE OF THIS COUNTRY. I DO NOT APPRICATE THE TONE OF HER VOICE OR HAVING TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK SPANISH TO CLEAR UP A ERROR ON LAKESIDES PART.  
 
THIS WILL BE THE 5TH PHONE CALL SINCE NOV OF 2007 I HAVE MADE WITH THEM. THE SCREWED UP MY ORDER 4 TIMES. HAVE BILLED BE FOR 4 DIFFERNT AMOUNTS. WHAT A DISGRACE TO THE PUBLIC!

I have never had such a bad experience with an online merchant. Placed order 1/4/08 and I went to check the status a few days later and it showed backordered. I never was contacted one way or another I tried to contact and no one ever returned emails. The only way I could check on things was to go the site and hope that it was updated. I have never had a company that doesnt communicate with you about your order status and they really need to step it up. My order finally shipped 1/15/08, just hope I get it in time. Just not very professional and its not worth saving the money on items when you dont even know if you are gonna get them.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON. They verified that some items were unavailable within 48 hours which was good. However, the rest of the order was canceled 12/20 without any notice. I discovered it because I checked on the order - they sent no email or gave no notice of the cancellation. It was far too late to order elsewhere and too late for e to replace the items in time for Christmas. NO APOLOGIES. NO RESPONSE TO MY EMAILS. NO NOTHING.  
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

This was the most horrible shopping experience I have ever endured. The first gifts I bought this year were purchased from Lakeside Collection, and out of the three items I purchased only one was able to be shipped and I wasn't notified of the cancellation of another item until less than a week before Christmas leaving me no time to send a replacement gift on time. The customer service personnel were not helpful or understanding at all. I chose to cancel the third item myself because I the three gifts were supposed to go together and they would not stop the order even though it had not been shipped yet. Their system of doing business and managing shipments is inadequate and outdated at best. To add insult to injury I have to pay shipping to send the item back to them, but I will do it on principle because I don't want them to get any of my money. Needless to say I would never order again from them or recommend them. BUYER BEWARE.

Don't be tempted by these prices.If you are buying for a gift especially around the Holidays don't expect to get your items!!!!My order has sat there for 5 days with a ready to ship statice.I expect these will not be arriving and I will be getting a notice they are back ordered.This happened last year and I thought I would give them another chance.Never again!
