I have ordered quite a few batteries from All-Battery, including AAA, AA, C, D, and 9V sizes. Overall, my experience has been extremely positive, and I would highly recommend ordering from All-Battery. Below are a few comments:
* Batteries are cheap and have high capacity. In fact, after some internet comparison shopping, they're by far the best battery deal I've found.
* Unlike some other reviewers, I've found their batteries to be standard sized so that they fit all of the uses I've wanted them for.
* Shipping is fast. Communication is great about receipt of order information, and notifaction of shipment.
* I once ordered way too many C batteries. When I called to return them, I was immediately connected to an actual person, who was helpful and courteous. Returning them was fast and easy, and my credit card was refunded in a reasonably prompt way. When I called to inquire about the refund after a couple days, the person I spoke with told me the exact day the refund would be forthcoming, and he was correct.
* My one suggestion for improvement is in the packaging. Most of the time, the batteries have come well-padded and packaged adequately. However, on a couple ocassions, they have been not padded at all -- I just ordered 5 D cells that had zero packaging around them at all -- they were just put in an unpadded manila envelope. We'll see if they work. I once had a 9V battery not work from them because (I think) of poor packaging. However, overall, the packaging has struck me as sufficient -- this has just been a single occurrence when they haven't worked.
* I also have purchased a battery charger from All-Battery, and thus far I've been pleased and impressed with it. This will be my 3rd rechargeable battery charger, but it seems like it's the most versatile, intelligent, and reaosnably fast.

My school also uses rechargeable batteries from them -- lots and lots and lots of batteries from them. They are used in our physics lab as well as in the tech department for cameras. Both departments have had a great track record with them. The tech support person told me that occasionally they will get a bad batch of batteries that don't hold a charge well, but that's the exception not the rule.
As I previously mentioned, I would highly recommend them to anyone. Oh, one word of advice: google for coupons, because you can almost always find coupons for free shipping.

Tenergy NiMH Batteries Have Nonstandard Size and Unacceptable No-Load Discharge Rate. I purchased two dozen AA NiMH batteries from All-Battery.com in an ebay auction on January 19, 2008 for home use. Twelve were to be for me and twelve for a friend. I purchased these specifically, because the price was good and they came in a package deal, including C and D adapters. The adapters seemed like a good idea for three reasons. 1) you need fewer types of batteries on hand, to always have charged AA, C and D cells, 2) most chargers are only for AAA and AA cells and 3) true high capacity C and D NiMH batteries are very expensive, and the cheaper ones are really just AA batteries in a larger shell. This was fine, because the particular uses for C and D cells that we have, Roomba virtual walls, are low drain and the more rapid turnover for the AA batteries would be acceptable.

Upon receiving the batteries, I charged all twelve of mine and tried them out. It turned out that they did not work in my Cateye LED bike light or in the controller for my radio-controlled helicopter, two main reasons I needed them. Comparing them with other AA batteries, it seems that the problem is that the positive terminal of the Tenergy batteries stands a little less proud from the body than the others, and the aforementioned devices happened to have plastic bosses around the positive terminals, so that the positive terminals of the batteries could not reach those of the devices. I contacted All-Battery.com about this, and they referred me to Tenergy for technical support. The Tenergy tech support person assured me that the batteries met the IEC specification and offered me a 50% refund. It was not clear if I had to send the batteries back and only 50% of my money would be refunded or they would refund 50% of the money without taking the batteries back, but I didn’t clarify this, as I thought I might add a little solder to the terminals to make them work – I did not get a chance to try that.

Fig. 1: Photos of the positive terminals of a Tenergy AA cell (left) and and Ultra AA cell over a mm scale. The positive terminal of the Tenergy cell is just about 1 mm proud of the shoulder, while that of the Ultra cell is significantly longer. The shorter terminal on the Tenergy cell prevents it from functioning in some devices.

In the applications where the batteries did work, they seemed OK initially, but lost their charge very rapidly. My friend tried newly-charged ones in her Roomba virtual walls one day and they worked, but a few days later they did not. She also put them in her wireless computer keyboards, but they only lasted a couple of days, while other brands last several months. I put a newly charged pair in my etrex GPS one weekend and went on a hike, but the next weekend they were dead. It seemed that the batteries were running down very fast between charges, so I decided to do a test. I charged 12 batteries and measured the voltages. I found that the voltages were lower than the other NiMH batteries I had (Sony and Ultra). I also found that they discharged faster than other batteries and were very weak after one week. I unfortunately lost that data, but I wrote to All-Battery.com and Tenergy again, asking for a complete refund. They never answered my email, so I decided to do another test and write this review.

I charged 12 Tenergy cells and 2 Ultra cells. The Tenergy cells were bought January 19th 2008 and the Ultra cells were at least two years old but in excellent condition. I had bought them from Globalcomputer.com. I measured the no-load voltage of all cells immediately after charging and a couple of times over the next three weeks. The results for all 14 cells are plotted individually in the graph below. Even at time zero, all Tenergy cells had significantly lower voltage than the Ultra cells, by 68 mV on average, and the discharge rate was much greater, so that after three weeks, the Tenergy cells were on average 190 mV lower than the Ultra cells. After the three week measurements I tested pairs of batteries in a 2-cell Maglite. The Ultra cells lit the bulb brightly with no noticeable decrease during half an hour of continuous operation. On the other hand, all six pairs of tenergy cells produced a very dim light that extinguished completely within 30 seconds.

In conclusion, the Tenergy cells I received are defective in three ways. 1) they have a nonstandard positive terminal size that makes them unserviceable in some devices. 2) the fully charged voltage is lower than that of other NiMH cells and 3) The no-load discharge rate is much higher than that of other brands. I can’t see how any customer could be satisifed with this performance. I think that I may have gotten a bad batch or the comments from satisfied Tenergy customers I have seen on their site were from customers who had just tried their batteries after charging them. In either case, it is unacceptable.

Speedy delivery. I was thinking the price was too good to be true, but the batteries seem to be as advertised and they arrived promptly. As a bonus, I managed to find a great package deal and a discount code via fatwallet.com

I'd buy from them again.

It was a pleasant surprise to find a store offering a good deal on AA batteries. Having a child where all toys take AA batteries, you want to save a few dollars but one still wants a high quality battery. Tell you what, I love these batteries. I even tried them in the flash of my SLR camera and were quite pleased with the longevity.

Be forewarned that they advertise that first-time buyers can get a $$$ coupon for writing a good review for them in forums (such as this one). I actually did this and notified the owner, but he never paid up.

In early March, I purchased a replacement battery pack for my Roomba from all-battery.com

iRobot charges $60+ for a battery, and therefore many companies have begun selling cheaper replacement "battery packs".
Basically, you take the screws out of the proprietary roomba battery and remove the contents (a 14.4V NiMH battery pack) and replace it with the new battery pack you have.

This is the item I ordered: http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1035

At the time that I placed the order, it was indicated to be in stock.
I placed the order on the 7th, and received an email that the order had shipped on the 8th.

Strangely.... I received an email from them on the 10th saying that the item was in fact NOT in stock, and that it was back ordered until March 20th.

They gave me the opportunity to cancel the order, but I asked them to ship the battery when they got it back in stock - which they did.

I received the battery on March 25th. As described, it came with the screwdriver (necessary because iRobot uses a strange triangle shaped screw that you can't remove with typical screwdrivers).

The tenergy battery (their brand) works very well so far. Using the screwdriver and the instruction on the page for the battery, it was relatively simple to install.

So, In short, they did sell me an out of stock item, but customer service took care of things and everything went smoothly after that.
Overall a positive experience.

I ordered 101 double-A batteries and was sent 111 triple-A batteries. Not only was the quantity incorrect, but the type of battery was incorrect. After I finally got someone to respond to me, they mailed me a sticker to send the package back to them. They refuse to refund the full purchase price back to me saying that it's against their policy to refund the shipping costs. I am not giving up and will report to the BBB and my credit card if they continue to refuse to refund my money. Since it's only $10 that I'm out for shipping, it's not a huge deal, but enough to convince me to never work with this company ever again.
4/3/2008 update - They agreed to refund my shipping charges so I am now happy. It was a trying time, but they have finally satisfied me.

Purchased a T-6280 8 Channel Smart Charger in Nov.2007 to prepare for all the batteries my childrens toys would go thru. I've ordered additional batteries in Jan.2008 and both times the shipments came fairly quickly.
The T-6280 8 Channel Smart Charger started going bad today with pretty minimal use. I think I've re-charged maybe less than 25X. Both of the channel lights flash red which is supposed to indicate a bad battery but there are no batteries in those particular channels to be charged! Killing the power and re-plugging it in didn't stop it. Brought it to work and I noticed only one channel was blinking not two anymore. I contacted customer service and was told to email the RMA department. I asked to be transferred but was then told no one would be there until 10:30. Oh, OK. Found an RMA form to fill out online so just did that. Up until now the batteries and re-charger seemed to work pretty well and I was happy. Hopefully their customer service can be accomodating but we'll see. Other comments I've seen have not been too happy with customer service.
Update Feb.21, 2008
Received an RMA form via email pretty quickly. The RMA is a Word doc and it looks like an 8th grader made it up. Anyway, I returned it on my dime and it's been two days since they received it. Since there is no indication on the order status page of their 'site I called customer service but just got busy signals. I initiated a 'Live' chat and I was told it would take about 5 days to ship out my replacement. That's where I stand now.

I've made two orders from All-battery. The first order went smoothly and I got my package in about a week. I ordered a 1A, 30-40 cell NiMh charger, which turned out to be a piece of junk. The charger was never able to detect when the battery was fully charged. If left unattended, it would have destroy the battery. I returned the charger and was given a refund. But of course I lost money on the shipping costs. I also got six 7 cell packs of 3800mah NiMh batteries. The packs were on sale and was quite a good deal. But when I tested them out, they were all much lower than the claimed capacity. Even after many cycles to condition them, the best I got was about 3000-3200mah. They also sell two different 4500mah NiMh cells. One costs a little bit more than the 3800mah cell, and there other one "Propel" costs twice as much as their other 4500mah. So what's the differences between them? The more expensive cell has a guarantee than it as a min. capacity of 4200mah. So what does that mean for the cheaper 4500mah cell? It's probably also much lower than the claimed capacity just like the 3800mah I bought. So bottom line, don't trust their rating! Only their top "Propel" cells has any guarantee.
I bought these cells to power my electric bike. So battery capacity is very important. Because the cells capacity didn't measure up to what I was expecting, I decided to get more packs to wire them in parallel and double my capacity.
After my first order, I was given a code for free shipping if I made another order within 60 days. This was extra incentive to make a second order. I used the code during my order and everything went through, or so I thought. 5 days later, my order still hadn't shipped. I later found out the free shipping only applies in the US. I'm in Canada. After a bunch of ignored emails and second rate customer service, I called them to sort everything out. In the end, I had to pay another $23 to get my package shipped. If I hadn't already committed myself by buying the first set of batteries, I think I would have cancelled my order.
My conclusion is, All Battery has good prices, but don't believe their claims unless they have a guarantee. And if you're looking for a NiMh charger that can charge 30-40 cells. Make sure the charger uses a thermistor for peak detection. Chargers using voltage drop detection, like the one all-battery sell don't work well on packs with a lot of cells.
One last note. I was on this site a month ago and saw there were many reviews of All-battery. There must had been over 60 reviews going back several years. For some strange reason, all the reviews were deleted. Not sure who was responsible for that. The deleted reviews were not all bad, but there were a fair number of people not happy with them. Their rating was around 6 out of 10.

I have been very pleased with All-Battery from the aspects of price, service, and quality of product. Over the last year, I have ordered from them about six times and all orders were shipped promptly with the correct products which worked well.
