I ordered from this company on the 21st of June. On the 23rd of June they sent me an email to confirm something on my credit card (CVV2). When I spoke with the person on the phone, he was rude, tried to sell me more things, and generally treated me like an idiot. I asked to cancel my order and he questioned why I would want to do that. I told him that I felt I was being treated with disrepect. He kept questioning me, asking my why I felt that way. Eventually, he agreed to cancel my order and then told me, "You are quite strange."  
 
I would never consider buying from this company again.

I ordered a Pentax Optio 555 from this outfit online and read it was in-stock. I was sent an e-mail the next day stating they tried to get ahold of me. I called them to ask what the problem was. Their response was "there is no problem, but you need this and that and so on and so on to the point where they said the Pentax battery was only a 20 minute trial battery. They also said it would be necessary for me to purchase the AV and USB cables. I said no, they are included. We ended the conversation. Seven minutes later I received an e-mail stating my order was back-ordered. I cancelled it. This company should be called before the State of New York Consumer Affairs. DO NOT ORDER from this company.

I purchased a FinePix S7000 for $324.00 (very good price.) I was subsequently contacted and hard-pressed by a salesman named Chris to purchase various accessories for the camera. When I declined to purchase the pricey accessories I was informed the camera was an "International Version" and did not carry the US warranty. This was not mentioned anywhere on the website. The store is located in New York City where this type of practice constitutes false advertising. When I informed the salesman of this he told me I would be upgraded to the USA version for free and the order would be shipped in 3 days. After I hung up the phone I got the following e-mail:  
 
Dear Valued Customer,  
 
This is to confirm that your order has been cancelled. Your credit card will not  
be charged. If your credit card has been charged we will process a refund to  
your credit card.  
 
Thank you,  
Service Department  
 
I believe in NYS this constitutes fradulent advertising and warrants collective action against them via the Queens County District Attorneys Office. I will be submitting my information to them here:

Promised to process order within 24 hours. Cancelled after being unable to get any shipping information after 12 days. They promptly shipped after receiving verbal and email cancellation notice. Now demand 15% restocking fee plus shipping to return merchandise. Custermer service said sue if unhappy.

Another case of "too good to be true". It's truly amazing that this company can continue with the same fraudulent scam day in, and day out. The exact same "backorder scenario" when I wouldn't purchase accessories. They also sell Grey Market goods with no indication on their website. I even had the ever famous "Mike at ext 101" on the phone. Unbelievable. I sure am glad I stumbled across this site before it was too late and cancelled my order.

Mine is the same story as other folks here. I ordered a camera from their website (a Canon Powershot S1) with no accessories - the camera had a great price, but the accessories cost way too much. A few days later, I received a notice to contact them. When i called, he said they didn't have the right shipping address, and needed to confirm. He then tried very agressively to sell me some accessories (memory and lenses), which i didn't want because they cost twice as much as they should. A few minutes after saying no and concluding the conversation, i got an e-mail saying the camera was out of stock for 4-6 weeks. I thought it was odd that the guy didn't mention this while on the phone. Remembering the price of the accessories and noticing his hard sell, I tried calling back to place an order for the same camera, this time deciding to purchase memory too. I said i wanted to know when it would ship and he said it would ship tomorrow, that it was in stock. I asked if he was sure, if perhaps he needed to go check the inventory; he said no, he was "100 percent sure; we have a bunch, I just saw them." I then confronted him about my order which was supposedly on backorder; he said he didn't know how that would happen, that they could ship it tomorrow. I then got on the web a looked around a little, and found this site, which led to call back and cancel. Definitely dishonest.

yO, THESE GUYS SUCK, I ordered from them a Fuji Finepix Camera S7000, for $327.00 After Rebate. After 5 days they send me an email asking me to call them. I called them and they tried to sell me acessories and I refused. So then they told me they cant ship the camera because it wasn't in stock and I would have to wait 6 to 8 weeks before they could comnfirm shipping the camera.  
 
What a scam. and he had the nerve to tell me that if I dont buy any acessories then I wouldn't be smart.

I ordered and received a Pentax Optio 555. To confirm the order, I had to call in and they then imformed me that the standard battery was no good (15 minutes battery life) and I should order a "high capacity" battery for $40 extra (Camera as $409). I took their advise. When I received the camera, I found it was shipped with the factory battery and the battery worked fine. I called customer service and they said their price was for a 15 minute battery; they basically lied to get the extra $40 from me. There is a 15% restocking fee so I was hosed. Be forewarned!! BTW, camera is excellent.

This was one horrible experience!  
 
The letter sent to the merchant (with no response to date)  
provides details on the following:  
1."professional kit" sold by merchant does not meet Nikon requirements nor warranity standards.  
2. Cancel order date not honored - although it was within 3 day cancellation period.  
 
Customer service has been totally unsupportive!  
 
The letter sent to merchant:  
 
Please process the return for oder number 15572-P under RMA 16449 for the enclosed  
“Nikon 8700” Professional kit.  
 
The kit which your company has put together consists of components which are not covered under Nikon warranty.  
 
Nikon Technical Support advised that both the telephoto and wide angle lenses do not correspond to the Nikon lens specifications and requirements and could not assure the camera would perform with these lenses or be in any way damaged because of their use.(For example, the Nikon wide angle 52 mm lens is 1.58 X).  
 
This is the most significant reason why the camera package can not be accepted.  
It simply wasn’t designed to do what you advised it would do on purchase and Nikon  
Is not guaranteeing the functionality of the camera with the components provided.  
 
There are some other inconsistencies between your web site published policies and your actions:  
 
1. WEB Site advises : “Your credit card will only be charged only when your order is shipped.”  
My order was shipped May 3 as noted on the UPS tracking site.  
My credit card was charged April 28 as posted on my credit card.  
 
2.I was told by SALES that I would have a 3 day grace period to cancel my order.  
When I called April 28 to cancel, I was advised the order was already shipped when in fact it wasn’t. (At this time I had no way to confirm status as the UPS tracking didn’t start  
Until the actual shipdate of May 3.  
 
Your web site posts “IF YOU CANCEL YOUR ORDER AFTER IS HAS BEEN SHIPPED YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO REFUSE THE DELIVERY OF YOUR ORDER. ONCE WE RECEIVE THE PACKAGE YOU WILL BE REFUNDED LESS THE SHIPPING CHARGE AS WELL AS A 7% CANCELLATION FEE.  
 
My order should have been canceled as I first requested on April 28 because it had NOT  
been shipped.  
 
3. Your web site posts total charges will be shown to you before you enter any information.  
The total charges were NOT shown to me and I was advised they would be $57 via UPS.  
Hard to understand as UPS is quoting a straight over the counter rate of $10.75 which includes insurance.  
 
4. Your web site posts “ We offer a 10-day satisfaction guarantee from date of receipt for all photo equipment….All returned items must be shipped in its original carton and original condition in order to receive proper credit or exchange.”  
 
The original package and contents in the original packaging are enclosed. The only exception is that the aluminum tripod was NOT in the original package and was reported  
Missing May 4.  
 
I therefore expect that because:  
1. The Professional Kit does not meet NIKON warranty and technical support requirements  
And  
2. because you did not stop the order on April 28 as requested  
And  
3. because all merchandise is in original packaging and condition

Radioactivedeals had the best price, $480.00, for the Minolta Dimage A1 camera I wanted. The day after I placed the order I received an email stating that they needed me to call them urgently. Nobody would answer their phones on the weekend. I called from work on monday. Mike, said he needed the security code on my credit card. I gave it to him. He then proceeded to sell me a batter and a charger because he said none was included. My order says Lithium Ion Battery Pack and Charger and is $169.00 higher that the original order but I received no other battery and charger than what was included in the package. Also they raised the shipping from $59.62 to $69.62. These people are dishonest and ripped me off for $178.99. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I have yet to receive my order, probably because I didn't agree to purchase the recomended package. While the Canon S410 is still advertised on the site (and at a LOWER price than my order), I was informed yesterday (7 weeks after order) that the camera is unavailable. This appears to be some kind of bait and upsell scam. Stay away if you are looking for a camera that you will actually receive. Contact the attorney general, better business bureau to put operators like this out of business.

First, the salespeople make a good impression advising on what kind of acessesories to buy with a camera. Receiving the order I noticed that the rechargeable batteries were of a lower Amh than ordered. I called and was promised a new set, which arrived. A missing adaptor took three weeks to show up, in the meantime I had called and cancelled but it was shipped anyhow. Waited on phone for a customer service rep forever, received the run around through the different compartments. They try to make it as difficult as possible to return things. Need a Return Authorization number and charge a restocking fee. My first and last deal with RadioActive.

"Worst experience in many years, low teaser price for Cannon Powershot S410. Order placed and followed with notice to call then. High pressure sales to purchase additional overpriced accessories that eliminated any initial savings and made the purchase far more expensive than other vendors. Having read reviews after ordering but before calling I saw that if I did not take the extras the original order would likely be on back order for six weeks or never ship. As vacation is looming I went ahead and accepted the overpriced extras rather than be bothered with the delay. Even then my order was stuck in their shipping department for a week. Sent a scathing email threatening to cancel is they did not get off their butts. Finally got a notice it shipped after my email threat. Now I have another week to to 12 days to wait so it could stretch to almost three weeks. Worst experience I have ever had and will never purchase so much as a toothpick from them again. My own fault, after many years of online purchases with almost a perfect record I seldom even bother checking user reviews, now I have learned my lesson and not make that mistake again. Avoid this merchant like the plague, the low prices are merely bait to get you on the hook. "
