Unbelievable scam artists! I ordered a camera and got the "contact Bob at extension 208" email. Once on the line I was told the camera I ordered came without cables -- if I wanted to actually use it I would need to pay 50% more for the full set-up. I immediately said, "Cancel the order," words that I was forced to repeat fully 50 more times before eventually hanging up in frustration. I told "Bob" (who refused to ever give me his actual name) at one point that I was an attorney and knew my rights, and his insane response was, "Well, you're not in the courtroom now, so stop talking and listen." When I asked for his name, he accused me of "verbal abuse." After I hung up, he called me back to continue the harangue, telling me that if I tried to buy the camera from anyone else they would "play games" with me. I tried to point to "Bob" that he was the one playing games, but he grew louder and more insistent. He told me that it was too late to stop the purchase (even though American Express later verified that no charge ever went through, and even after he had told me that the item hadn't shipped). After hanging up on him twice, I eventually got a call from someone else at this huckster outfit telling me that the order was cancelled. Thank God. However, I'm freaking out that these lunatics have my charge information. Who knows what they're capable of?

I bought a Cannon A75 from Radioactive Deals and can say they had a great price to begin with but when I got an email asking that I call, they offered another great deal on additional accessories. I am totally tricked out from recharg batteries/charger to filter set and more for around $250. Thanks Jason

Just Horrible. I purchased a Konica Minolta Dimage A2 online this morning. I received confirmation that the order was processing. A little while later I received an email to call and verify the order. I did and was bombarded with upsell of over half a dozen accessories which I already had from a previous camera. When I told Mike at Extension 101 this, he proceeded to tell me that the camera only had a 90 day warranty and a full years coverage would cost another $99. I told him I diddn't need it since the camera had a 1 year manufacturers warranty. He said that was a limited warranty that only coverd parts for a year and labor for 90 days. Funny Konica Miniltas site plainly say it covers parts and labor for a full year. He politely droped the sales routine and told me to enjoy my camera and we ended the phone call. Within seconds I received an email that the camera was on 4-6 weeks backorder. I called back immediately and cancelled the order.

Beware the "order confirmation" phone call - I was also "required" to confirm the 3 digits on the back of my credit card, but I left that card at home and Bill said "no problem, no problem" and went on with his add-ons hard sell.
Clearly, he didn't really need to check the card at all, and it was all a ruse for the extra sell.
Bill then asked me to fill out a positive review for him on BizRate in exchange for a faster delivery time. That's when I really felt worried and discovered all your reviews. I have since cancelled my order and even my credit card to avoid any future problems with these scam artists.

Suckered in and ordered some accessories along with camera. Next day tried to cancel; they threatened to hang up on me; canceled my credit card and had credit card company dispute the charges. Radioactive shipped the order anyway; I called shipper and refused shipment. Turned them into www.newyork.bbb.org. After numerous correspondence with my credit card company, and Radioactive saying they never received my return and wanted proof, am happy to say I won. Full credit received after full 2 months of fighting.

A WORD OF WARNING TO EVERYBODY.. These folks posting the "very satisfied" reviews.. Note they all only have ONE review, and all tout the wonders of "buying the right accessories". They come one after the other.. Very few consumers will sing praises about all the upsells they were sold! BE FOREWARNED.. The classic NY photo store scam of advertising a product at a very low price, then calling to "verify" something and in the process upsell you is as old as time.
Inevitably, the tactics ALL these stores use are:
-Saying the battery is a "starter" battery
-Saying it's not a USA version
-Saying it comes with no warranty
-Selling you massively overpriced filters
-Saying a no-name accessory is better than the Manufacturer's
Inevitably, if you do not take the bait, they'll say your item is "backordered", or if they send it to you, you'll get a beat up return or a used item.
DO SOME RESEARCH! At reputable places you'll find that the "package deal" these places try to sell you with the accessories end up costing way more than the actual package + accessories at a real dealer.

Ordered Fuji S7000 on April 30th, had to call to confirm. Was pressured into buying other accessories but did not. Was told the camera was on backorder. Update on order said 4 to 6 weeks. It is now July 26th and have been emailing the company to find out about the order and they would not respond. Cancelled the order today.

I too was surprised at the great prices on their web page. I called to make the order and talked to the infamous Mike. He should be selling used cars. While he was fairly knowlegable he tried to sell me memory, batteries, extended warranty, lenses and any other thing he could think of. I finally succumbed to his hard sell and purchased the lens kit and extended warranty even though I told him repeatedly I was not interested. He hinted that the price shown was only available if purchased as a package with the other items mentioned. When I received the package and saw what a rip-off the $399.00 lens kit was I called them back and said I want to return the lenses and wanted my credit card account refunded that amount. He did all he could to convince me to keep the lenses or exchange them for different ones or other items. After a lenghty dispute we agreed upon a solution which was to exchange the lenses for additional memory and a battery. He said an RMA would be issued. A week later and no email or RMA was issued. I sent them an email stating I was going to dispute the charges with my credit card company. My credit card company refunded my $399.00 and I still have the damn lenses. My advise to everyone is to use your credit card Merchant Resolution department to get back any money you paid for items you didn't want.

These guys are scam artists. I ordered a camera and after a couple of days I got the email to contact Bill.
Bill turned out to be a complete imbecile, who didn't seem to understand english.
He told me that the camera is on backorder, even though the website showed it to be available.
Avoid these guys. They also pose as USAphotonation.com.

We had almost the exact experience as those listed below. What this company is doing is bait and switch and it is illegal. We filed a complaint with the FTC. Nothing can happen unless the FTC receives a number of compaints. I encourage all of you to do file your own complaint so they can not do this anymore.
Here is how you can file your complaint with the FTC: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 This review was modified by its author, tarisa, on

Radioactivedeals had the best price, $480.00, for the Minolta Dimage A1 camera I wanted. The day after I placed the order I received an email stating that they needed me to call them urgently. Nobody would answer their phones on the weekend. I called from work on monday. Mike, said he needed the security code on my credit card. I gave it to him. He then proceeded to sell me a batter and a charger because he said none was included. My order says Lithium Ion Battery Pack and Charger and is $169.00 higher that the original order but I received no other battery and charger than what was included in the package. Also they raised the shipping from $59.62 to $69.62. These people are dishonest and ripped me off for $178.99. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I have yet to receive my order, probably because I didn't agree to purchase the recomended package. While the Canon S410 is still advertised on the site (and at a LOWER price than my order), I was informed yesterday (7 weeks after order) that the camera is unavailable. This appears to be some kind of bait and upsell scam. Stay away if you are looking for a camera that you will actually receive. Contact the attorney general, better business bureau to put operators like this out of business.

"Worst experience in many years, low teaser price for Cannon Powershot S410. Order placed and followed with notice to call then. High pressure sales to purchase additional overpriced accessories that eliminated any initial savings and made the purchase far more expensive than other vendors. Having read reviews after ordering but before calling I saw that if I did not take the extras the original order would likely be on back order for six weeks or never ship. As vacation is looming I went ahead and accepted the overpriced extras rather than be bothered with the delay. Even then my order was stuck in their shipping department for a week. Sent a scathing email threatening to cancel is they did not get off their butts. Finally got a notice it shipped after my email threat. Now I have another week to to 12 days to wait so it could stretch to almost three weeks. Worst experience I have ever had and will never purchase so much as a toothpick from them again. My own fault, after many years of online purchases with almost a perfect record I seldom even bother checking user reviews, now I have learned my lesson and not make that mistake again. Avoid this merchant like the plague, the low prices are merely bait to get you on the hook. " This review was modified by its author, dmagner, on

Great prices, as long as you are
willing to buy very overpriced
accessories. If you decide not to buy
anything other than the camera, expect
an indefinite backorder. Also, they
sold me a "package" that included a
very nice hard case. When the hard
case arrived three weeks late, it was
a cheap substitute. Bait and Switch
all the way. I have disputed the
credit card charge as a result and
have asked for the NY State Attorney
General's Office to investigate. Do
yourself a favor and stay away from
this vendor. They have no integrity
in what they say. If you too have
been manipulated by this merchant,
send me an email at RAD-
complaint@bellsouth.net so that we can
coordinate our efforts if I'm
contacted by the State Attorney
General.

Radio Active Deals is a SCAM!!! Show me one person that has actually purchased a camera ONLY from this company. I thought I would be sneaky and called the sales guy and first asked if they had the camera I wanted in stock. The answer was sure, so I went online and ordered one. I then called back after I received an e-mail saying that they needed to verify my credit card information. Well I called and before I talked about my order or what the call was about I asked the guy if the camera was in stock, the answer again was yes. So then I proceeded to tell him I was instructed in the e-mail to call and he verified my visa card information and then tried to sell me memory and batteries which I declined because they were way overpriced. He said “enjoy your camera” and I hung up. Next I received an email saying that my order was in processing in the shipping department. After two days of not getting the e-mail that your camera is shipped, I called the company again asking when I could expect to receive my camera and the guy asked me my order number and when he checked MAGICALLY the camera was on back order. The advertise way cheaper prices than anyone else only to try and lure you into buying their overpriced accessories. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
