WARNING - Do not use these guys for any major holidays. They do not deliver! I ordered a flower + gift arrangement on 12/22/2005 from 1-800 Flowers online catalog for my elderly father for Christmas. I received an email notice from 1-800-Flowers confirming the order and the delivery date of 12/24. At the end of the day on 12/24 I got another email from 1-800-Flowers just like the first only now with a delivery date of 12/28. I checked with the carrier (UPS) and they showed the package had arrived in the desitination city on 12/24 at 6:00AM. UPS told me the package wasn't delivered because they told 1-800-flowers long before my order date of 12/22 that they would not guarantee delivery before Christmas, yet 800-Flowers took a $20 delivery fee from me and promised they would deliver before Christmas. I can't even believe they just casually said the flowers would arrive on 12/28, six days after they were shipped. Can you imagine what flowers would look like being delivered six days late? They exhibited what seemed to be very little concern about the situation, in essence, saying "sorry, but they'll get there on the 28th. Nothing we can do". Well there's something I can do. Never buy from them again!

This was my last order from these guys. This order - 12 yellow roses. To their credit, this time they delivered yellow roses. In the past, when I ordered white roses, they delivered red. The problem with this order is that the roses were half dead on delivery. By the next day, they were ready to be thrown away. This is not uncommon for them. I don't think I have had an order that was 100%. Usually the flowers are old and die completely within a few hours. I have gotten the wrong color roses and once 11 instead of 12. Each time I call customer service and they deliver again. The second delivery has always been ok but who wants that hastle every time. I want my gift sent correctly the first time and I want a high quality product, not dead flowers!

Very happy with them. Have been using them for a couple of years now. Always ontime deliveries. Very fast processing and it's great that you can schedule in advance! Makes it a lot easier to remember those special dates!

Flowers were delivered around 7:00pm on Valentines Day. What a huge disappointment! I don't ever want to see my girlfriends sympathy smile because of such a poor gift again.
First, UPS delivered this. I was shocked that the flowers were on their delivery van since 5:00am that morning. No refrigeration! Second, when we opened up the cardboard box, 2 or the roses had broken off the stems and the rest were wilted and dying. Even after I tried to arrange them myself, the flowers endured way too much abuse on the way to save. To top it off, even after we set the vase with water and the artificial food that came with it, all the remaining roses hang down.
Guys, if you want to impress, don't send flowers this way. And don't send them to her work if you have to! There is a section on the order screen that allows you to enter a message to the recipient on a card that comes with the package. What a joke! The card is actually a perforated section of the packing list on the outside of the carton.
Customer service was responsive (offered a refund), but I had to call at 3:00 am to get someone. It won't let you hold either.....
First and last time with this service.

The flowers were delivered at 6:10pm, after the office was closed. My wife didn't get them until the middle of the next day.
The customer service rep didn't offer to make any compensation. I will not order again. This review was modified by its author, ChrisHagwood, on

One of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. I ordered flowers for my wife for valentines day. They were to be shipped to her school as a suprise, well big suprise the flowers never arrived. I've been trying to call their customer support for 2 days now on valentines day I was on hold for over an hour at which point I filled out their email form and got a response back saying the package was delivered to a residence at 5:08pm. Now thats strange since I selected school in my shipping choice and schools in my state close between 3 and 4pm. I still cannot get ahold of anyone and will never buy from this company again. luckily a local florist came through and matched the price from 1800 flowers and I picked them up on my way home from work.

Placed order online for flower delivery on 2/14/2005. Received email on 2/14/2005 that order was on it's way. Confirmed with my girlfriend that she never received the flowers. Customer Service was only able to confirm that she should have received them. They offered to try and redeliver them the next day. I passed and canceled the order. Now I get to run around all night trying to buy flowers myself. This review was modified by its author, scottfl, on

so i ordered my flowers this morning and put the delivery date in as the 14th and went on with my day...
my wife got her flowers an hour after i ordered them. she's really excited but thought it was a bit premature...
i called 1-800-flowers and spoke with a jenni, i told her about the situation and she suggested that the florist come back and take the flowers back from my wife and then redeliver them in two weeks. can you imagine? i can't believe they would even suggest it and i'm shocked that a woman would think that's okay. so i asked her what she would feel like if she got flowers from her boyfriend or husband and then an hour later the delivery guy came back to take them away. she was silent.
at that point i laughed and asked for the supervisor, she placed me on hold and then came back and said that the florist would call my directly on monday to see what she wanted to do. ummm, did my wife place the order? no. did i pay the florist to deliver flowers on the 14th? no. so i would her i wanted a supervisor immediately.
after five minutes on hold the supervisor came on. his name was corey and he explained that the florist had today's date as the delivery date and that they had the 14th. he apologized and promised that she would receive fresh flowers on the 14th. the best part was that it was clear that he had never been approached the first time i asked for a supervisor. i filled him in and i hope that none of you will have to deal with jenni.
man, i can understand that they're pretty busy with valentine's day but come on...

Over the years, I've had many successful orders delivered through 1800flowers.com--quickly and on-time. With that said the company did manage to "lose" one of my orders, with the flowers never being delivered to the recipient. Customer service was able to quickly resolve the problem though.
While losing one order out of the many placed over the years isn't bad, I believe the service consistently depends on the local florists contacted by 1800flowers.com to make their deliveries. At least for me, the florist selected was not "nearby" and came from a store I had never heard of.
Even with their problems, 1800flowers.com can generally be trusted to deliver a beautiful arrangement of flowers to their destination on-time. The many online coupons available also help to defray some of the (normal) expensive costs of flowers.

they stink. if u want reliable service, do the extra work and locate a local florist of the recipient. places two orders on 12/14/2004 (one to be delivered on 12/23/2004 and another for 12/24/2004). neither order arrived. this is not the first time this has happened to me. the first time, i was trying to send a little something to my brother-in-law, before the army shipped him out to iraq. well that order never made it either. i thought maybe i was just unlucky, but after this second terrible experience, and reading of their hideous track record, i felt i should chime in. stay away from these guys and let them go out of business.

I wanted to order flowers for my mother on Mother's Day. I chose a vase + flowers combo due to it's pretty arrangement and the convenience of the website. I received a confirmation of the order and a few days later, a confirmation of delivery. I thought all was well. A week later I found out that 1800flowers.com sent the flowers to the wrong address! Fortunately, the incorrect address was the home of my brother who lives in the same town as my mother. Needless to say this delayed the delivery. Addtionally, the flower and vase combo I chose was not arranged. In other words, my mother (if she had received it) would have to do the flower arrangement. Not a problem if you are up to it, but my mother is NOT! I wrote a letter of complaint to 1800Flowers.com Customer Service and did not receive a reply. Bad Service. Bad Company. There are too many flower delivery services available for anyone to make the mistake of choosing this company. I wish I had checked resellerratings.com prior to my order.

I found out a week before my mother’s Birthday that she always wanted a Bonsai tree. Due to their great selection and good prices, I decided to send my mother a Juniper Bonsai with “Bonsai Basics” book. I ordered on a Monday and the tree was delivered to mom on the following Thursday. Mom’s happy with her tree and glad to have the instructional book since she has a black thumb at times and 1800Flowers made me look good.
1800Flowers sent me an order confirmation e-mail and even a delivery confirmation e-mail.

1800Flowers engaged in bait and switch pricing practices. I "added to my cart" two dozen roses, but they switched the product number to one dozen roses for the same price! I phoned customer service but they of course denied any wrong doing.
