I ordered the Fields of Ecuador bouquet and silver vase for my parents anniversary on 5/29 and unlike most of the reviews here I had an excellent experience!

The flowers came on time and were exactly as pictured and made my parents very happy.

It seems most of the negative reviews here center around Mother's Day and maybe they're all true, but I had an awesome experience and would definitely return.

This company sent me a plant which was infested with bugs. For about a month I tried several remedies to eliminate them to no avail. I called to try and get some help or another plant and they said that because of the time that has gone by since my delivery there was nothing they could do for me.
I then e-mailed customer service and re-iterated my phone call, about 2 days later I received a response stating they will replace my plant.

I ordered the Elegant Wishes bouquet (small size) for my mother for Mother's day (unlike a prior reviewer I liked it). It was a last minute order as we are out of town together assisting my father after emergency surgery and my dad asked me to get her some flowers.

I ordered the flowers online on 5/9/08 via 1800 flowers website. I choose this arrangement as my mother loves stargazer lilies. I used a $10 off coupon and put in for delivery on the 9th or 10th.

I had some problems with the website (or possibly the hotel internet connection) and did not think the order went through so I redid the order. Bad move as the first one did go through so I now had two orders. I panicked as it said you can not cancel orders made between 5/5 and 5/12.

I immediately called 1800 flowers and got through pretty quickly. The agent was very nice and friendly and although it took about 20 minutes to remedy, they were able to call the florist directly to cancel the second order. Their website indicates the cancellation was made.

The flowers arrived on the 10th at about 5pm and were delivered to our hotel room.

They differ somewhat from the website but that is typical and it does state this on their website. It does not appear to be as tall as advertised but in no way looks cheap. The vase it came with is beautiful, much nicer then the plain clear one it was pictured with. It is red and has cut designs in the glass. The roses are beautiful and the lilies should open in a day or so. All in all my mom loves them and my dad is pleased so what more could you ask for. I paid $59.10 which included $14.00 for deliver.

Wow.
That's all I can say.
This is another vendor I've used, and either I am absurdly lucky, or the reviews are just plain wrong.

Granted, I didn't order on Valentine's Day at the last minute - I ordered after a bad morning fighting with my wife or something trivial.

I ordered the JEWEL OF MY HEART(TM) (#17360)
and Add On: One "I Love You" Mylar Balloon (#2050LV)

They were stunning.

I grew up working in my parents' flower shop, so I know good fresh flowers from stale crappy ones.

I also know that national floral referral services are only as good as the independently owned shop that actually fulfills the order.

I remembered from my own experience in the shop that FTD had poor arrangements that only looked good from one angle. Back then, Teleflora was the way to go.

Why did I go with 1-800-flowers?

Because one woman I work with always gets email from them, she has excellent taste, and I was in a hurry.

These not only looked good upon delivery, they stayed looking good over a week. (She kept them even longer, though after a week I would have tossed them.)

She received the delivery about 90 minutes after I placed the order.

The vase, while I'm sure was inexpensive, did not look like it. Unlike the awful milk glass or green glass, this one is a beautiful purple/lavender shade and would look fine in any surroundings.

My wife works in a tax office, and every day she told me about all the compliments she received.

I placed an order for a bouquet with chocolates on 12/02. I asked for delivery on 12/05. The order shipped on the night of 12/04 into 12/05 and was delivered in the afternoon of 12/05. The flowers were in great condition and the chocolates were exactly what was ordered.

I have ordered multiple times from 1-800-Flowers in the past with no issues. It seems that most of the reviews here are those from people who have had success with them, but when they have a problem it is very difficult to resolve.

Luckily, so far, I haven't had any issues.

I was very happy with the service I got from 1-800 flowers. The flowers arrived on the 13th and they were fresh (still looking good today on the 23rd). Best of all, my wife really liked them.

I know a lot of people posting here have not had good service, but mine was excellent.

Well there are two ways to look at this: on the one hand, my order (which was supposed to arrive on Valentine's Day), didn't arrive until a day later, and the roses were wilted and dying (probably from getting stuck in a snowstorm during shipment). On the other hand, when I called customer support, they immeadiately agreed to resend the flowers, and when my original choice wasn't immeadiately available, they upgraded me, giving me an extra $20 worth of value for my trouble. The customer service rep that I spoke to was a little strange, but very kind and helpful, and really helped to set things right. I DID have to wait 20-30 minutes on hold, but I'm willing to wait MUCH longer than that for a satisfying customer service experience. All in all, I'd recommend 1800Flowers.com to anyone, anytime for any occasion.

I have purchased from them several times, and I have never had an experience like the people below. For this last order, my flowers arrived right on time, and the person I sent them to said they were the most beautiful flowers she had ever seen. She told me they ended up lasting more than two weeks, and some lasted even longer than that! :D

There's only one time I needed to call them--I bought the "birthday flower present", and the person I gave it to said that on the 7th day some of the flowers didn't look too good. I called them, and they immediately sent out a replacement, no questions asked. The person I gave them to said that these lasted a lot longer.

I will buy from them again. They know how to treat their customers. Not sure why my experience is so different from the folks below, but I've never encountered anything like that.

I found out a week before my mother’s Birthday that she always wanted a Bonsai tree. Due to their great selection and good prices, I decided to send my mother a Juniper Bonsai with “Bonsai Basics” book. I ordered on a Monday and the tree was delivered to mom on the following Thursday. Mom’s happy with her tree and glad to have the instructional book since she has a black thumb at times and 1800Flowers made me look good.

1800Flowers sent me an order confirmation e-mail and even a delivery confirmation e-mail.

Ok, I know you guys are all mad because you are having getting through to 1800flowers.com.

Let me explain my situation.

Tuesday morning, around 10am, I ordered a bouquet of 12 "romantic" long stem roses to give to my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. Before I ordered the flowers I remembered that I had received an email from your company about a deal for $10 off any order of $49.99 or above by entering the promotion code of "LOVE7". When I ordered the flowers and entered the code it did not take the money off, so after making sure I was entering all my data correctly I came to the conclusion that maybe it would take it off after I ordered the gift. After entering and paying for my flowers the price came to ~$65, which was $49.99 + ~$15 for shipping. There was no deduction from the promotion code that I entered. After realizing this I called 1800flowers.com's customer service lines (the first time out of many). The lady I talked to told me that my order number was not in the system yet and that she couldn't help me for another hour or so, and she proceeded to request me to call back in an hour and a half.
After an hour and a half had passed, I attempted to call back. The lady that I talked to seemed very flustered. She said "Um" very excessively and did not seem like she really wanted to help me with my situation. After being placed on hold for several minutes she came back with the reply that the deal was not offered from 1800flowers.com and that it was a Paypal.com offer. She told me I should contact Paypal.com if I wanted my $10 that should have been taken off when I entered the code. I thought about asking the lady on the phone why a PayPal coupon would have come in an email sent by 1800flowers.com but the lady did not sound like she was aware of what was going on around her.
I contacted Paypal.com, I got right through to the customer service representative who was eager to help. She told me that she would enter a request that would be later reviewed to see whether or not it was a Paypal.com offer or a 1800flowers.com offer. I later received an email from a member of the PayPal Community Support group and was told that the coupon was not offered by PayPal and that I needed to contact 1800flowers.com about getting my $10 back.
I went to work Wednesday, more importantly, Valentine's Day, and decided that I would not worry about my $10 refund until I got the flowers. If I was impressed by the flowers, then I wasn't going to press the issue any further. I got home around 6pm and my flowers were nowhere to be seen. However, I did notice that there was a package from UPS that they had left on the front doorstep for one of my other family members.
I went inside and checked the 1800flowers.com website; the package status said that it was shipped. So I retrieved my UPS tracking number and went to the UPS.com tracking service. The tracking service showed that "Billing information had been received" which means that 1800Flowers.com had printed a label but had yet to drop the flowers off to be shipped.
I immediately got on the phone with one of the representatives to inquire about the status of my flowers. Deep down inside I was still worried about what I was going to do about my flowers. The lady looked into what was happening with my order and then apologized to me because the flowers would not be delivered on the delivery date. I then asked her for some reimbursement for the flowers since they were promised to be delivered to me on Valentine's Day. She placed me on hold and then came back and offered me 20% back from my purchase. Awestruck and insulted, I proceeded to end the conversation with her.
Later that night I went to pick up my girlfriend for our (what I had imagined as being near perfect) date, I did not have any flowers to give her and could see that she was disappointed. I explained to her what had happened and she was not too mad at me. Instead she told me I should be insulted for the offer of 20% back for my purchase and continued to say that I should be refunded in full for the inconvenience.
Feb 15 came around and I constantly tried getting through to the 1800flowers.com customer service representatives. By dialing 1800 468 1141 and pressing 2, I would either get a busy signal or it would take me to a recording saying that the customer service workers were all busy and were unable to answer the phone. It directed me to go to the internet and leave my comments there, then continued to thank me and promptly hang up on me.

That is just a part of the email that I sent to them on feb 16, feb 21 I recieved a call from Julie Kaufman and had the wonderful opportunity to share with her my views and thoughts about the customer service at 1800flowers.com.

I want you all to realize that I was in the same boat as you were a few days ago. But I feel the need to say that after talking with Julie, there is atleast 1 person there that does care what we have to say.

Just be patient with them and they'll get around to you. Also remember that we are just a fraction of the people that had this problem.

I agree with all of these reviews, and had the same problem last time with 1800FLOWERS with my item coming late. This year I decided to look around for a new company and came across TulipWorld.com . The site says they will get you Fresh Cut Flowers direct from Holland in 24 hours. I placed my order for my wife on Feb 12, and set the delivery date for Valentines day. To my suprise she got the flowers delivered at 9:00 in the morning that day! Couldn't have been more happy. For those of you looking for change, I would suggest giving TulipWorld.com a try.

Over the years, I've had many successful orders delivered through 1800flowers.com--quickly and on-time. With that said the company did manage to "lose" one of my orders, with the flowers never being delivered to the recipient. Customer service was able to quickly resolve the problem though.

While losing one order out of the many placed over the years isn't bad, I believe the service consistently depends on the local florists contacted by 1800flowers.com to make their deliveries. At least for me, the florist selected was not "nearby" and came from a store I had never heard of.

Even with their problems, 1800flowers.com can generally be trusted to deliver a beautiful arrangement of flowers to their destination on-time. The many online coupons available also help to defray some of the (normal) expensive costs of flowers.
