Placed an order for a 42" Plasma TV on Feb 19, 2007 with TV Authority. My credit card was charged in full Feb 20th. The status of the order never changed from Shipping Pending. I called the 800 number at least 10 times and either got a message their phones were down or just a busy signal. Then I faxed a message to their supplied fax number (no response). I used their online chat several times but nobody ever responded. Tried their sales chat and someone picked-up within minutes. I asked them to transfer to customer support and again nobody ever responded. I tried emailing support numerous times but again no response. I was unable to speak to anyone other than sales. It is now April 6th and my credit card company has reversed the charge canceling the order. There has still been no contact from customer support. This is by far the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Do not waste your time or money with these clowns.

DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!! I purchased a LN-S3251D 32" LCD HDTV from TV Authority. I waited the estimated week it said it would take to get to me. When it didn't show up I called to find out. About 1 and a half hours later of waiting on the phone I am told it will be there next week. So I wait and I gave them a couple days. Finally I am annoyed and call again. Another 1 and a half wait. Then I get an e-mail about how they are delayed and it will take another 2 weeks. So I cancelled my order on March 26. Said to take 5-7 Business days for my refund. It is now April 6 and about 10 business days later with no refund. This is ridiculous for any company. If they are having a high volume of customers then maybe they should hire more hands. Makes Sense. Don't under hand you business to boost profits. Makes repeat customer turn out worse.

Believe all the negative comments about this store. I ordered an 'in stock' Plasma TV on 2/25. My CC was charged next day. I canceled the order on 3/12 when I was finally told that the order would 'be a while longer'. I was told 5-7 for a refund. It is now 3.5 weeks later and no one is even responding to my emails. These people probably have no intention of sending my refund and forget the interest on the charge that has been on my card for 1.5 months. AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. It appears they fill a few random orders just to get a couple good ratings and then ignore everyone else. They are very friendly on the phone or in the emails that they bother to answer, but they do nothing to help once they have your money.  
Added 3/20: I finally gave up waiting for these people to refund my money and called Mastercard a few days ago. They reversed the charge the same day. The lady I talked with at Mastercard said she was very familiar with tvauthority and had dealt with them several times before. I also filed a negative report with BBB which already has this business graded "F".

Charged my card upon receipt of my order March 24. Did not ship the item as of April 4 even though it showed "in stock". After I inquired, I was told that the item should be in in 1-2 weeks. It is a discontinued TV. There are no more.I have cancelled the order and challenged it with my credit card company. SCAM...SCAM...SCAM

Don't even think about dealing with these guys.  
 
Took my order and cahrged my card on the 27'th of febuary. Item showed Pending shipment for over three week.  
 
E-mails not responded to for over 48 hours and then I was never given a direct answer as to ship date.  
 
repeated calls ended up with me never reaching anyone. Today _ i finally got on hold - instead of dropped and waited 45 minutes. I canceled the order but was told my credit card would not be cedited for 5 to 7 business days.  
 
I just now reported them to the credit card company and am heading for the BBB next

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to TV Authority and its complement of professional, courteous and helpful personnel. It was not an easy decision for me to place and order for a relatively costly purchase over the internet and from a company with whom I had not done business before. However, once the decision was made and I contacted your company to place the order, the experience turned out to be a pleasant one thanks to your people.  
 
There were a few glitches along the way such as the first delivery being damaged and having to be replaced, but even in this instance your folks rose to the occasion and reacted in a timely and professional manner, keeping me informed and expediting the replacement.  
 
I can assure you that if I or anyone with whom I associate wants to buy a product you sell, I will certainly be a repeat customer and will highly recommend your company to others.

*sigh* I made the mistake of buying from this company before doing any research on them. What a HUGE mistake.  
 
Look at the BBB rating for them. "F"

Everything people are saying here is true. They do not actually have stock, the do not ship when they say they do, they charge your CC before it ships and getting through on their toll-free number is almost impossible.  
 
I literally spent 1hr WAITING for a customer service rep. Then I finally got someone ("Anthony" was his name) and he was less than enthusiastic about helping me. I told him I received an e-mail 5 business days ago telling me my TV has shipped, yet I have heard NOTHING since. He then tells me he's going to put me on hold and would get right back.  
 
TWENTY MINUTES LATER he returns to tell me that the tv hasn't shipped and it would be at least another week.  
 
I canceled my order right then and there because I had been reading all these review sites about this company while I was on hold and knew I had better cancel now or it would be like pulling teeth to get a hold of anyone again.  
 
I then asked Anthony if he knew just how bad his companies’ reviews were and he said "yes". He offered nothing else.  
 
After canceling my order I called up my CC company and disputed the charge in case TVAuthority took too long to credit my account as most have mentioned here.  
 
Bottom line DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

I ordered a Samsung LN-S3251D on March 8 and my charge card was charged the next day.  
 
I e-mailed 3/17 (Sat) and heard from Toi on 3/19 that my product would be received 3/26 - 28.  
 
Interesting, since I would have expected to receive a tracking number well before delivery.  
 
Today, 3/26, I get a form e-mail from Customer Service saying it will be another couple weeks!  
 
So I figure its time to check them out better and find the comments on ResellerRatings.com. I was disappointed to find many negative comments.  
 
So, I send an e-mail to them that I need a tracking number by end of day Wednesday 3/28 or I will contact Amex and reverse the charges.  
 
But then, lightning strikes! On Thursday, 3/29, just before I call to cancel my order, my wife says I have a phone message from James, the manager of customer service. His message says my TV will be delivered the next day. Sure enough I find an e-mail with a tracking number that confirms the message. Friday 3/30 the TV is delivered.  
 
I feel lucky and I am upgrading my evaluation to "Somewhat Satisfied."

Its kind of ironic, i am against "sayings" but in this case its really true, so when they say " don't believe everything you read" in this case its very true......Despite some reviews that i read about TV Authority in the market, my buying experience with them was a total satisfaction... I searched for BENQ projectors on line, and TV authority came up , i read about them and i immediately decided to give them a call, from there is was like a 5 star vacations, it was perfect , from sales to customer services, i even got a courtesy call from one of the VP's. they explained so well and answered all my questions, that after about 20 min, i had put in the order.... my card was charged, and within two days i already had a tracking # for my order. Needless to say that it showed up within 3 business days in perfect condition.  
I would like to say that i have been shopping online for a long time, i would recommend buying from them at any time, i know i would....  
 
TV Authority thank you for a great experience, I know i will soon buy again.

Wanted to take a minute and let you know how much I appreciate your helping me with selecting the BENQ PE7700 projector. I wasn't sure what projector would be the best for my application. The one you suggested is perfect and was much less expensive than others we considered. It arrived as promised with everything we needed to connect it. Thanks Silvia

It is unfortunate when a great company grows faster than they can manage. TV Authority has received a bad wrap because they have excellent pricing on their electronics. I have been looking to purchase a DLP TV for about 8 mos. TV Authority made it possible. Yes, you will need to be patient in receiving your merchandise. Yes, I found frusteration in contacting the company as I needed my TV for a birthday gift by March 17th. I finally contacted the sales manager James, (ext.508) He did return all of my phone calls and made sure my TV arrived in time. DO NOT BE AFRAID to order from this compant. As long as you are patient this company will stand by their customers. It was worth the $700 dollars I saved by purchasing from them. I understand they are going through a difficult growth period, so if you need instant gratification go spend extra money at your local retailer. If you want to save hundreds maybe even thousands of dollars and can be patient, then TV Authority is the place to shop. I would order from them again!!! Absolutly

I did purchase a samsung tv back in Dec of 06 and had had to wait a little longer than expected for delivery but it was done satisfactorily. I recently had a minor problem with the tv and call TV Authority and they were very helpful with my inquiry and I was satisfied with thier response. I would consider buying there again

PURCHASED TV ON 2/21, RECEIVED EMAIL THAT IT SHIPPED 2/23. NUMEROUS CALLS AND EMAILS UNANSWERED. IT IS 3/21 AND I FINALLY GOT THROUGH TO CANCEL THE ORDER. THEY DID NOT APOLOGIZE OR PROVIDE EXPLANATION FOR THE DELAY. ITEM ACTUALLY NEVER SHIPPED AND MY CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED TWICE BEFORE THEY SENT THE EMAIL SAYING THAT IT SHIPPED ON 2/23. WEBSITE HAS A LETTER ON IT STATING THAT THEY ARE BUSY, BUT HOW BUSY ARE THEY THAT THEY CAN'T SEND AN EMAIL UPDATE AS TO WHY I HAVE BEEN EXPECTING A $1500 TV FOR A MONTH NOW. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE-DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. CHECK OUT THEIR "F" RATING AT THE BBB (BBB.ORG)

Well, I took the chance with TVAUTHORITY and it paid off for me! I received my Samsung HL-S4676S at about 8pm on March 12/07. It was only 2 days later then promised because the freight company Mach 1 screwed up, not TVAUTHORITY.  
I did send a note along with my order about the bad rap they have been receiving and I hope I am not to be included in that group. I received a call from Neil Kusens, president of TVAUTHORITY, super guy, told me about some of the things that have gone on in the last few months had how he was resolving these issues. He jumped on the shipping company right away, but they already put in on a truck. It was suppose to be on a plane!  
Being that my TV was only 2 days, (well 4 with the weekend), he threw in a 2 year extended warranty and 2 HDMI cables. I think that is super.  
As far as I am concerned, I got the best deal on my TV I could find, with free shipping, a free extended warranty, some cables and great customer service.  
I will most certainly buy from TVAUTHORITY again.  
I also love my new TV. It is just what I wanted. I can’t wait for my digital service and my HDMI cables to arrive so I can hook up my DVD/CD player to the set.I love my TV and I am a happy camper!
