Thank God they never charged me! I ordered a 50'Samsung TV received a confirmation# and waited for my card to be charged to get shipping information. After a week the card was never charged so I attempted numerous times to call this company and always got a message that either there were too many calls at the time, and or the phone # was disconnected.
I had to report my card as stolen (per the bank) so that if they tried to charge at a later time they would not be able to.
Very unhappy with the service, however very glad this company was not reliable enough to charge my card promptly.

This company is a scam. I had the same experience as everyone else. They took my order, charged my card, couldn't ever ship the item. They said they had cancelled the order, but never refunded my money. After a month waiting for a refund I contacted my credit card company to dispute.

If you have been scammed by TV Authority, please contact the California Attorney General and file a complaint.....just google the above address and go to the complaint section and fill it in and hit send.
I did and am trying to get everyone to do likewise so we can try to find a way to get our money back, put this company out of business and have the owners jailed.
I also sent a long email to the Los Angeles Times newspaper to notify them of the scam in Santa Monica, so they could help put TV Authority out of business.
Hundreds of us have been duped by this company and we should not let it go.....please follow up with a complaint to the Attorney General of Ca.

Unbelievably horrible expierence!!
Made a phone purchase with TV Authority on 01/22/07. The Samsung HDTV that I ordered was stated by the sales person Stephanie Moist to be in stock at the time I placed the order. They claimed a guaranteed delivery window 1 month away as being 02/12/07 - 02/14/07. That seemed a little long but, I decided to ride it out since Stephanie said it might be sooner. Also, most importantly they charged my credit card on the day I ordered 01/22/07 which should have raised a red flag for me but, you live and learn, right? On 02/08/07 2 business days before delivery I checked the status of my order on the TV Authority website and noticed no change in the status,no tracking information,nothing different since the day I ordered. I called customer service and after a 50 minute wait on hold I found out that the TV I had ordered and was told that it was in stock at the time I ordered was actually on back order and they said that they could not tell me when I could expect shipment. That information resulted in a call to Stephanie who ACTED surprised to hear that information. I asked if I could upgrade to a different model if it was in stock and could be shipped sooner. She offered an upgrade to the latest model of the same TV at no extra charge and said that she would get with the distrubution center for availability and get back to me on 2/14/07. She did not get back with me on 2/14/07 but did respond to an e-mail on 2/15/07 stating that the original TV I had ordered was in stock and would be sent out to me with no delay. She wrote that I would have tracking information by 02/016/07 and delivery no later than 02/23/07. I am writing this on 02/28/07 and have yet to recieve any tracking information. I have tried sales people Stephanie, Cambyrn with e-mails that I know they read because I recieved the read reciepts with no respones. I have left several voice mails with the customer service manager James Agiesta with no respone. I have spoken with Nicole Bisanti in Customer Service several times and have recieved nothing but excuses and one fact that the TV has not been shipped. She says she is in contact with the distibution center daily but has no idea why the TV has not been shipped and does know when it will be shipped. All I ever wanted was an update on the status of my order. This should not be asking too much. Should it? This by far the worst expierence I have ever had bar none when making a purchase. I too am in awe that this company is allowed to stay in business when it is clearly a scam. I have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges and start stop payment proceedings in order to get a refund. I will also be contacting the BBB of the greater LA area to file a complaint. I am taking steps to insure that everyone I can possibly alert knows DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH TV AUTHORITY. They have a legitimate looking site and they are very helpful and friendly at first contact but, BEWARE they will charge your credit card and then all customary services will cease. Even thier customer service manager obviously could care less about customer service. I can only hope that I can get my money back and put this expierence behind me.

I purchased a SAMSUNG, HP-S5053 I was told it would ship in 3 to 5 days. When I called to get a ship date I was on hold forever and was even connected to another individual looking for his tv. As soon as customer service knows you are looking for your tv they stick you on hold and avoid you. I was given a tracking number and called the company (pittOHIO) and this tracking number was not a valid number with them. I cancelled the order with my credit card company, and I would not reccomend this company to anyone.

Lazy or just stupid, I can't figure out what these people are. Customer service is HORRIBLE. There is no reason to wait on hold for up to an hour to have your call transfered around by incompetent people. Shipping delays are terrible and you will not receive information from anyone at TV Authority. I would not EVER buy from them again, nor would I advise anyone to. Pay the extra money and go with another seller. HORRIBLE SELLER ALERT!

Total scam. They had no problem charging my card within minutes of me calling, but my refund has taken over a month to process. Had to charge it back, now I have to wait another month. What a joke of a company. I have loved waiting on hold for over an hour when I call every week.

Stay away from theses guys. This outfit is totally unprofessional and nonresponsive except when it comes to charging your credit card. I expected the TV to come within several weeks. After waiting over one month, I called them to ask when my TV would be delivered. They said that they would call me the next day to let me know when it would be shipped and gave me the usual line about giving me a FedEx tracking #, blah blah blah. Anyway, of course they never called back and when I called five days later they said that they had no information to give me. Of course, I cancelled my order but you can be sure that the credit on my credit card won't show up as fast as the charge did. This guys need to improve their act.

Ordering was pretty fast and easy. I paid for the 3-5 day shipping, and I received the tv the day after it left the warehouse. My only real complaint about TVAuthority is that less than a week after I placed an order for a 46" DLP HDTV, the price has gone down $100. I called and asked what they would do to keep me as a satisfied customer in regards to the price difference, and I was given some line about how "I paid the same price that it cost them to purchase the tv." We'll wait and see how they handle it though. My wife enjoys handling things like this, so she's going to call and see what she can do this afternoon. I'll update once I have more.

Another person who ordered a product that nevers ships! Ordered an "in-stock" plasma TV on 11/20/06; called a week later to get a tracking number; was told product had shipped and tracking number to come; called three days later and told product had shipped and tracking number to come; called one week later and told order had been "sent to warehouse" and had "probably shipped", with promise to email tracking number; called a week later and told "no way to know" when product might ship. It's now four weeks later with credit card charged on the day I ordered but no product in sight. Customer Service lies to you (when you can get through). DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY MAY HAVE BEEN RATED OK PRIOR TO THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS, BUT CHECK THEIR RECENT REVIEWS. BIG TROUBLE HERE.

AVOID!!!!! Horrible customer service. As others have stated, charged credit card immediately and waited a full week to ship a TV stand they said they had in stock. TV stand arrived broken. There is no way possible to reach an actual person in customer service. I spent 2 hours on the online help screen today and no rep ever appeared on the screen. 50+ phone calls have NOT gotten thru to a customer service rep. I had to dispute the charge on my credit card because of their horrible business practices and customer service.

Same story, ordered a 50 inch plasma and now nothing. Tried for 30 minutes to get through on the phone which was busy. As I write this I've now been on hold for another hour. No response to email, live operators online never show up.
I agree, complete scam. Next call is just going to be to my CC company to have a charge back issued.

Tvauthority has taken our money on 11/24/06 it is now 12/16/06. They have continually not returned calls or e-mails regarding our purchase of a 50" plasma. Order status has shown shipped, awaiting tracking number for over three weeks. I have spent hours on hold during the last two weeks attempting to get answers. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company yesterday and plan to file complaints to consumer fraud agencys and file complaint with Attorney Generals Office.
BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE I THINK THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS FRAUDULENT SCAM ARTIST MERCHANT!!!!!!

The most unscrupulous company i have ever dealt with on the internet. Placed order for TV on Nov 26, 2006. Credit card was charged on Nov 28, 2006 but status on web site did not show TV had shipped. Called customer service and rep assured me the TV had shipped on the 28th, but she could not yet provide tracking number. Status on web site showed the TV had shipped this same day. Was told the tv would arrive week of December 7. By end of week no TV and still no tracking number on web site. Called again and was again assured the TV had shipped and would arrive by week of Dec 11. Called third time and got runaround as to why tracking number still could not be found. Was told that info would be found and emailed same day. Never heard from anyone. Called fourth rep after two weeks and was guaranteed the tracking info would be given to me in a phone call before day was over. Call never came. One more call and told rep i would not get off phone until order was cancelled. Finally determined tv was not in stock much less shipped. Order was cancelled, and i too will probably have to file dispute to receive refund. Under no circumstances should you deal with this company.
