I'm shocked to be writing this very negative review of ChiefValue.com... A Newegg.com Company... I have placed many many orders with NewEgg and have always been no less than very satisfied. This however has been nothing less than horrible. I went to purchase a pair of memory sticks NewEgg was out of stock (clearly posted on the page) I did a google and found it at ChiefValue (I didn't know it was a NewEgg company) I placed my order and all was well... Until I got an "on backorder" e-mail. I asked them to cancel the order and they did... so far so good... UNTIL I check my bank statement They charged my account for a product that they 1) didn't have in stock and 2) Canceled the order from

Needless to say I am NOT impressed and will not be ordering here again. I just hope this isn't a practice that NewEgg is going to start picking up... I'd hate to have to find another vendor for the thousands I spend on computer parts each year.

Dear customer we apologize for this inconvenience, and would like to inform you
That Chief value did not charge for a sales order item not shipped, it is a process when
Placing a order that the amount of the order will be placed on hold and will only be
Captured when the order is shipped out, in this case order was void & nothing was shipped ,
your bank May show that there may have been a attempt to capture , however your bank will verify that no funds where actually charged to your account for the sales order .
Thank you for your post .

Awful. Just awful.

Their website is terrible, and I was hesitant to order from them at all, but I couldn't find the product anywhere else, and went against my better judgement.

When I got the notice that my oder shipped, it said that it had been sent out UPS ground, even though I was supposed to get three day shipping. I called to inquire, and the woman who answered did nothing but argue with me the entire time I was on the phone. The shipping wasn't this it was that, it wouldn't ship from here it would ship from there, even though I had the information right in front of me from THEIR email. I finally had enough and hung up the phone.

Never again.

I am having the worst time lately with computer suppliers. Maybe they're all just tired after the holidays, but I have had awful experiences in all three transactions I've made recently to build a system.

I was suckered in by the fact that ChiefValue is a NewEgg Company. I've ordered from NewEgg for 10+ years and have only had a couple unresolved problems in all that time. However, ChiefValue is NOT NewEgg!

I tried to place an order last week, but was unable to do so because of this error: "Sorry, the credit card your provide is not valid. Please try again using the correct credit cart information.' No, I did not make typos - that is the EXACT error I received. After calling customer service, I was told I'd be contacted back within an hour; this didn't happen until the next day after I'd left on vacation. The voice mail said that their credit card processing portal was down and now fixed.

I tried again to order what I need yesterday and got the same error - another call to customer service and another promise to call me back within an hour. Just before leaving for the night 5 hours later, they called me back. We discovered that the name on a credit card cannot have a hypen in it, even though this is the way the name on the card is written. OK, so I can now get past the error and order right? Yeah, that's what I thought too.

It now tells me that there's not enough inventory, even though the customer service rep checked and said that there's plenty. She suggested that it's my browser (Firefox), computer (Slackware Linux), or network. So, I changed to another computer, this one running XP and used Internet Exploder on a completely separate internet line. Same thing, but she just kept saying that it's my system.

I asked if I could order from NewEgg and have the deal matched to ChiefValue, since they're both the same company. She said that even though CV is owned by NewEgg, everything is separate. (Regardless of the fact that she introduced herself as "---- from NewE... ChiefValue" when she called.)

I haven't been able to order from ChiefValue, even though I'd very much like to. I've given up on ordering from them, even though they're significantly less expensive than everybody else for the same item. My opinion of NewEgg has also gone down because of this experience.

Monitor price dropped after I bought, contacted chiefvalue and they basically said oh well. I cannot understand how not refunding original sale price to the new sale price helps people with limited resources like chiefvalue claims.

"This is done in a conscious effort to help those with limited resources, such as fixed incomes, etc.
have the opportunity to participate and enjoy the ability to have equal buying power with us as others who may have more financial latitude."

"we truly are doing the utmost that we can as a company to contribute to the human cause by doing the right thing whenever and wherever we have the opportunity"

I gave them the opportunity to do right by me and they declined so I decided that I, according to their logic, would be helping them out by changing my review from positive to negative.

They do ship fast but their customer service sucks. I will only order from chiefvalue if their price is lower than everyone one else.

Chiefvalue is "a newegg company" but newegg has a 9.5 plus rating and chiefvalue's 6 month rating currently is at 8.0. What gives with the poor service from chiefvalue's management.

I didn't think it would be worth the time to do this (a $10 credit), but just looking through my email (and being bored) I saw a email that reminded me of one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever received.

It all started when I ordered a jawbone headset from them and noticed it cheaper on Newegg. I called them to price match (as I was told Newegg was their sister company). They denied this over and over and long story short; after proving the cheaper price and them admitting Newegg was a related company, the woman named "Espy" I spoke to said she would refund the money but that she noticed that I wrote a negative review (the first version of this post) and basically implied that I would need to take this down or change it first (which I stupidly did). Well it's back up and I hope people know what a cheap and unprofessional company this is.

I ordered a PC DVD burner from ChiefValue. I realized it was an OEM burner which means no packaging, but I felt it was not new because there were Scotch tape marks on it as well as stickers which were scratched off. The plastic bag was also dirty and wrinkled. I have bought hundreds of PC-related accessories online before, so I feel I'm pretty good at distinguishing a return and a new item. I was upset about it enough that I e-mailed ChiefValue the same day I received my item. I would have returned it out of spite, but there's a restocking fee for returns. I only received an automated e-reply that CV received my e-mail.
I probably won't buy from ChiefValue again especially since you can get the exact deals from Newegg (which owns CV). I am really fond of Newegg. I trust them and I love their service. The only reason I made this purchase from CV was because they offered free shipping on this particular item and Newegg did not. Next time, I'll wait or just pay the extra few bucks for the premium service and prompt delivery I always get from Newegg.

This is one piece of crap company. I order 2 32GB flash drives on 10/29/08 and the website site says it was in stock. Later, they claim it was on backorder and that my order would still be valid. Now, they say my order is canceled and if I want to reorder it is more than double the price for each one. Freaking crooks w/ their bait and switch tactics.

The hard drive was DOA. They made me pay for return shipping, and still have not sent the replacement drive. It's been over two weeks since my original order, and a week since I returned the drive.

They said it will be shipped in 1-2 days, yet it has been 4 and there is no indication that it will ever ship.

I ordered a printer on 7/21/08 and my credit card was charged on that same day. Waited a week and tried to contact them about the order status and was told I would get a call back ASAP. 4 more days later I got a call that the printer somehow is no longer available and I would receive a refund. I would not consider to order from them again in the future.

7 FULL DAYS after I ordered a 750GB Seagate hard drive. It's still sitting at step 3 of 5 waiting to be "packed" to ship.

Order place: March 21, 2008
Charge to my credit: March 24, 2008
Waiting for it to be packed STILL: March 28, 2008

That is absolutely ridiculous. ChiefValue might be a company of NewEgg, but it doesn't have Newegg like shipping speed.

this is my first time to order from chiefValue.com, and it turned to be a bad experience after all.
first, it took more than 12 days to ship my order, and that happened after I sent an e-mail to them (still i'm checking the mail box but can't find anything).
second, they charged me about $800 before I send them the e-mail, then I checked the order status and found that the price of the orders is about $600,, which means about $200 for nothing.
third, the products I order were available, now they are not available, which means I've lost my chance to have them.

I wish this never happens to me in future orders.. so disappointed!!

Lousy, lousy service from this Newegg.com company called Chiefvalue.com. I placed an order that was in stock on 1/30/2008. By the time they charged my credit card, they were out of stock of the video card that I ordered. So they 1. Charged my card, BEFORE they shipped my card. They stated in the email that they didn't know when it would be back in stock. I decided to cancel the order because of this. Here it is three telephone calls to them later, and they still have not credited my bank account for their mistake. I love Newegg, but I will never order from Chiefvalue again.

our sincere apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced with your purchase at
Chiefvalue.com. We understand that at the time of your purchase the item showed it was in stock and by the time the order was processed it was
out of stock. Unfortunately this happened due to an internal system error.

Unfortunately I didn't read the previous posts in time. Sure enough, I ordered a CPU Cooler b/c Newegg was out, and they listed it as being in stock. When I submitted the order, it came back order rejected. On a whim, I checked my account, and SURE ENOUGH the billed me for it! Whose system would reject an order but still bill you? This seems to be an on-going issue with this company. You'd think they'd fix their system to avoid doing this to people. But appearently they don't care enough about customers to not put them through this. As far as I'm concerned, it's a crime they would even associate themselves with Newegg. When I called to check on why I was billed, and some gentleman answered, I got "no welcome to chiefvalue" or other courtesy intro, just a "what can I do for you?" The guy acted like I was interrupting him which I customer should be made to feel. This whole transaction was 2nd rate, which IMO is a reflection of the company. I will never ever again go to ChiefValue's website, or stray from Newegg for that matter. This has been a learning experience and makes me appreciate the cust service from the Egg even more. I would really like to know how ChiefValue is a Newegg company, b/c they should be doing something about it!
