Where are these "good reviews" from? Who wrote these "good reviews"? These are the questions you would NATURALLY ask if you had any direct experience with them. My experience is so bad that I could not even put it to words. The product is neither new nor the same as ordered. The man play the "bait and switch" to the bone. The Better Business Bureau web site is right about this joint. It has many names too. You have to be stupid to order anything from them.
Consumer be warned. I contacted this company via phone to purchase a 52' lcd TV.
I paid for express shipping and waited for my confirmation email. This company never ever emails you or returns phone calls unless you are purchasing something.
The TV arrived on time and was damaged (the tv had been repackaged poorly and was not factory sealed). This should tell you that they sell refurbished products without advertising or informing the customer that they are refurbished. I refused the shipment due to damage and called customer service.
I had to call several times to finally get the manager Henry on the phone (also the same person who took my order) and he informed me that a new tv would be shipped to me. At that time, he attempted to have me pay for insurance on the replacement tv (does this sound legitimate to you?). I refused and after some more on hold time he gets back on the phone and says its waived and going to be shipped.
The TV arrived again repackaged and not factory sealed but seemed to be undamaged. It did look different though, so I checked the model and serial number and what do you know, its a smaller tv than what I ordered (which happens to retail for 700.00 less than the one I ordered). I refused the shipment again and got on the phone.
First, I spoke with Sara informing her I would like a refund. She told me Henry was off for the day and told me she would contact me back after speaking with him. I informed her that I would contact her back at my convenience. When I called back, I spoke with someone else who said Henry would be in later that day and would call me back. Imagine my surprise when he never did.
I called Henry as soon as I could the next business day and asked to cancel my order and get a refund of my funds. He told me that I would have to wait 6-8 weeks bare mininum and that his company would have to file a claim on my behalf with the trucking insurance and some other insurance company and I would have to wait on those claims before I could get any kind of refund. What kind of genuine business would make any customer wait weeks/months for a refund? I was livid so rather than yell and argue, I politely got off the phone.
I called back a little later after calming down, and reaffirmed to Henry that I wished to cancel and refund my account. He told me that if I let him ship another tv to me (a third time) and anything was wrong with that shipment, he would refund me immediately. This leads me to believe that an immediate refund is available now. I informed him that I wanted to cancel and before he could again add to this story I excused myself from the conversation.
This should paint a picture for potential customers of any of these companies. If you need further documentation on these companies, check out what the NY BBB has to say about them. It isnt pretty. I plan on fighting this as vigilant as I can until a proper resolution has been reached.
This is a classic bait and switch operation. After placing an order for a 42' Sharp LCD TV, I received a confirming phone call saying the order will be shipped that week. Great. Well, nothing comes in. I find out it's on backorder. Except their website still says they have stock and are shipping in 24 hours. I check over the next 3 weeks and they didn't even reply to my last e-mail. They give a lowball price and wait for the market to catch up and hope you don't catch on...
I cancelled my order on 2/21. 3+ weeks wasted for a dishonest company to string me along.
Avoid them like the plague.
Beware of this dishonest seller!! I just finished the last of my dealings with Shop Digital Online, and I am so sorry I even attempted at buying from them.
On 12/3/07, I ordered a 50” plasma TV online. They had the best price and the site said it was in stock and will ship in 24-48 hours. They called the next day to confirm the order (very long wait on the phone, BTW), and the guy said I would have it in 2-3 weeks. Awesome, since this was for Christmas. One week later. A week later, I checked my credit card online and found no charge, so I sent an email asking about this. It was amazing coincidence (yeah right) but I quickly received a backorder notification email and a second email stating the TV was on “a slight backorder.” They were expecting a shipment in the next 2-3 weeks. But I thought it was in stock! I then reread the reviews and learned of some of the tricks companies like this play. So I started getting worried.
The next week, I send an email just wondering if they heard anything about the shipment. No response. All this time, the TV is still listed as in stock.
On Friday, 12/21/07, I decided I’d try and call to see if I’m getting a runaround. I told the sales rep that I was interested in the TV and that I wanted to know if it was in stock and available for immediate shipment. Yes, it was. “So can you please explain to my why my order has not been shipped?” The guy fumbled some kind of explanation, saying that his computer doesn’t have recent orders. But it’s been nearly 3 weeks! He asks me to wait for another two weeks. Well, I’m getting pretty fed up by this point.
My wife calls on Sun., 12/23/07, explains what’s going on and what the guy said, then asks if they have any intention of actually selling me the TV. Again, they fumbled some explanation, saying that they’re looking into it. A shipment will arrive in 1 ½ to 2 weeks. Fine, we’ll give them a last chance. Yesterday, 1/3/08, I emailed again saying that 1 ½ weeks has gone by and I was curious about the shipment. The entire response was “its going to be another 3 weeks before we get it in.” Yeah right! I’ve heard that one before.
So I cancelled the order and placed an order with another company. It’s interesting – the other seller said they knew of the place, that it was right down the street from them. He said that the company was a classic “bait ‘n switch” shop. They apparently make their money by taking an order and then waiting for the manufacturer to lower their price. Or they try to sell you on something more expensive. Absolutely amazing! Yes, he’s the competition, but it’s consistent with my experience and what I’ve read about the company. If that’s what’s going on, then I’m shocked that a company could be so dishonest and immoral. Perhaps this model works because the market consistently has prices falling as new version come out. But any of us who order a product which is new or popular would get screwed. BTW, the TV is still listed as in stock and to be shipped in 24-48 hours. Amazing!
All that being said, that one conversation I had (order confirmation) was pleasant and I don’t recall getting a hard sell. Perhaps they’re fine for buying items which are less expensive and which would be normally in stock. Pretty much all the positive reviews for this company were for camera purchases, so maybe they’re OK for that. But good luck getting something pricey from them which isn’t deflating in cost!
At best, they’re incompetent. At worst, they’re dishonest. Or at least I hope that’s the worst of it. If you choose to buy from them, do so with eyes wide open. Like someone else said, all communication apparently needs to be initiated by the buyer, so stay on top of them. But just save yourself the hassle and buy elsewhere!
Bait & Switch company. Requires that you buy "upsell" accessories otherwise products you order are suddenly "On Backorder." Prices fluctuate on items and when calling to see if a particular item I ordered was in stock for the new higher price, it was available. When telling them that I had a pending order, "oh, that was a mistake, we don't have it available." Don't believe the positive reviews from others, especially the recent ones! This merchant is a strictly online vendor and it is very likely they are padding their reviews. Read their horrible rating on Better Business. BUYER BEWARE!
Just another shady internet retailer. Don't be deceived by the low advertised price as they will add on many mandatory extras before they will ship to you. Also when they call they tell you that the products are refurbished even though there is no mention of that on their website. Bottom line BUYER BEWARE.
Can you say "bait & switch"? It is very obvious how these guys work: First, advertise a low price to attract the order. Second, they send an email saying that you need to call them to verify the credit card info you provided with your order. Third, when you call they try to up-sell you on a protection plan and overpriced accessories. Fourth, after you decline the up-sell they tell you in a subsequent email that the product is out of stock and will be available in three weeks. Lastly, (this part is up to you) you cancel the order. The result: they didn't have to sell you anything at a low price and you wasted your time. Avoid them!!!
Don't bother. Just another sophmorish example of "deceitful" pricing. As always with the "fly by nights" you get an email to call and "verify" your credit card data and when you don't need the accessories or extended warranty, you get a "just a minute don't hang up yet...there will be a mandatory insurance charge on your order of 7% you need to authorize".
DO NOT ShopDigitalOnline. They do not disclose shipping insurance fee (not part of S&H charge) which is 4% of the price. They do not ship ontime or notify you that it has not been shipped for whatever reason. Their answer to your inquiry will be that the issue was so small that notification was not needed (even though the delay was over 4 days, and they required an additional 2 days to get it shipped). Items purchased state that they are in stock when they are not. These guys are from New York and give New York retailers/e-tailers a bad name. These guys should be banned from the online shopping guides. If you do business with them, good luck is all I can say.
Bad experience - after placing order on web, next day a rep calls me, veryfing order, shipping address (which is nice) by saying: we will be shipping to.... (Address) - so I feel good about the camera I am going to receive in 2 business days - but the says it is out of stock! I was completely astonished. Then he repeats it is out of stock and asks if I want to wait 21 days and start to laugh! I do not know what is so funny about it - already upset about not getting the camera - and he is giggling! Unbelievable, made me feel as if it was a joke. Bad and upsetting.
1)After doing a fair amount of research on Online Dealers, I ordered a Panasonic DV-953 Camcorder from shopdigitalonline.com. Theirs was the best price $1011.00 plus shipping.
2)Was informed immediately that Camcorder was out of stock but was assured to have it in about a week and service was very friendly.
3)Called after a week and was told that camcorder still wasn’t in stock and to “hang-in and that shipment was delayed for no good reason” and they would ship overnight as soon when it arrives.
This is where the BS starts.
4)Out of curiosity I was checking the shopdigitalonline.com page and saw to my
astonishment that the price for the camcorder went up from 1011.00 to 1409.00.
5)Realizing there was no incentive to fill my order at 1011.00, I ask a friend to give them a call and ask if they had any cameras in stock? The answer was a affirming yes and that that was the last camera available in North America for the
price of $ 1409.00 plus shipping.
6)15 Minutes later I called and got the run around from:
The camera is out of stock and will not come back in...to..
The information my friend got was not correct...and that
The raised the price to discourage interest in the camera…..lol
To being handed over to another sales rep….same guy with higher pitch in his voice…. after threatening of giving them a bad review on resellerratings.com, all of a sudden found a unit and was wondering aloud why the transaction hasn’t gotten thru…..and getting it ready to ship out.
7)5 Min later getting a call back from the “superviser” (still same guy) who was saying again that the camera was not in stock and they made a mistake and I they could sell me anything else to make up since they take bad ratings quite serious.
Bottom Line…. If you accept an order and you think you sold it too cheap, don’t string the customer along and just say it won’t come back in. Their greed wasted my time and they strung me along as a backup if they couldn’t sell the unit for $ 1400.00.
Major Point …they got caught lying….no business for these guys from me ever!
I know this review is rather lenghty, but so is my frustration.

I put in an order with Shop Digital Online for a Canon Digital Rebel. Their website said it was in stock. A few minutes after putting in the order, I got a call from them saying it was out of stock and if I was willing to wait 16 days before it can be shipped. I checked with other stores and it was also out of stock so I decided it was ok to wait. Two weeks later it still has not shipped and now they say it won't be available for another 14 days!!! No thanks. I cancelled my order.
1. I came here after having many many frustrating experiences trying to get a new PV-DV953. Their site said please call for stock, so I did.
2. I spoke to a rep named Charlie, who was extremely helpful and polite through the entire purchase. He volunteered that they didn't have any but that they would by Thursday and would ship Thursday or Friday.
3. I decided that sounded like a more honest story that I would get elsewhere, so I placed an order with the comment that I needed the item soon, so if it didn't ship by Monday, I would like to cancel.
4. I became a little worried because they had raised their price for the item almost $200 since I ordered it, and knowing online camera stores, I expected to suddenly have the item on 'backorder' so they could sell it to someone else at a higher price. However, they didn’t do this at all!
5. On Friday Charlie called back. He didn't try to sell us anything. Instead, he apologized, saying the shipment came in a day late and they would ship out Tuesday night overnight at no additional charge instead of Friday by UPS ground. Was that alright? I said absolutely.
6. The item arrived Tuesday afternoon as advertised!
Through every step of the process they were honest, polite, and a pleasure to deal with. And, of course, they did indeed upgrade my shipping to overnight for free. Finally, an honest, well-priced online merchant. I hope their efforts pay off for them.
I ordered a Panasonic pv-dv953 digital camcorder from shopdigitalonline.com on Friday the 21st after reading some reviews that had said you will still get your item(s) even if you decline the accessories. I can now verify this as true. The price was not the lowest I found but the extra 50 bucks was worth not getting the run around about the item being in stock and then mysteriously becoming backordered if you decline accessories. I did receive a call on Monday the 24th from a gentleman named Charlie and he wanted to verify my address and zipcode. In addition he asked if I was interested in an extra battery, UV filter, or telephoto lens and I declined. I was told thank you for your order and it will go out today. I had requested 2nd day air delivery planning on the package not leaving until Monday but they actually shipped it DHL next day air early am so I had it in hands Tuesday. All the factory accessories were included along with the USA warranty card. This was a great experience for me and I hope they can keep up this level of service so my review will hold true indefinately.
At the end of March 2004, I purchased a Sony DSC-F828 from Shop Digital Online. The following day, I was contacted by Charlie at TS- Shop Digital, New World Series to verify my order.
Besides verifying my order, Charlie informed me of several things I should have to go along with my outstanding digital camera. Being involved in sales, I recognized his low pressure sales tactics (which I think are good). Of course, all of Charlie's suggested items (Lens Kit, Telephoto Lens and a Wide Angle Lens) were of great interest to me and the prices seemed to be okay. He also switched my memory reader to compact flash, which I appreciated. I knew I was getting a good camera and decided I wanted to complete the accessories I wanted. To date, I haven't been able to thoroughly assess the quality of the (Digital Concepts)accessories I purchased.
Up to this point, I have been pleased with the prices and, more importantly, the way Shop Digital Online has dealt with me.
