I was very surprised how easy it was to build my computer the way I wanted to. And Tech Support is Excellent!

I ordered a Dell Dimension 2400 replacement motherboard ( $79.99 ) that arrived DOA ( no diagnostic lights, no fan activity - nothing).
I returned the motherboard ( $8.98 shipping ) and was told that the motherboard "checked out OK". I requested the board be returned to me ( another $10 shipping ). I took the motherboard to a local computer repair technician that I trust who confirmed that in fact the board was bad ( $53.45 ).
At this point I have read the feedback at ResellerRatings and discovered that in fact not one customer of Ascendtech who returned a bad motherboard was told the board was bad and had a replacement board shipped - at AscendTech's cost.
Do not expect any customer satisfaction from this company if things go wrong.
You have been warned.
The Dell machine now works fine with a new motherboard purchased from a reputable business.
I regard my $152.42 spent on a worthless board as an "education expense" on web-based commerce.
Again: You have been warned.
When things go fine everyone is happy. The test of any relationship - including business relationships - is when things go wrong.
AscendTech is not a good business choice when things go wrong.

Easy to order, found on pricewatch.com; the price for the kit once customized was the lowest I could find. Quick service, came assembled and ready to go. Had the barebones kit up and running in about an hour, and it's running great so far. I greatly enjoyed working with this company and look forward to working with them again. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to get a new barebones kit or upgrade their computer. It's a beautiful kit and it will make a great Christmas present. Great MSI Motherboard! Dropped in a 3.2Gig P4 775 chip, cooler, hardrdive, memory, CD drive and a power supply and I was off and running. (Sure I had to load an OS, but we all know that) No problems, no bios jumper in the wrong place, no scratching for a matching backplate, no nothing, it just works! Did I say anything about fast shipping and correct motherboard packaging, as well as reasonable shipping rates? That's all there too. A+ AscendTech

This site provided minimal yet sufficient information about the product. There were no problems with the ordering process. Overall positive experience.

Purchased an HP motherboard to replace a dead one. Was an exact match and has worked great so far. Shipping was very fast and had good communication. Will keep watching their site for other items. This review was modified by its author, emptynesters77, on

The barebones kit I ordered turned out to be a Gateway system board in a generic box. NO Documentation, missing IO shield, and NO DRIVER CD. The answer I got was this was an OEM system and to "read" the web. I do not recall anything about this being an OEM. There is nothing on the invoice stating this is an OEM board.
The web page NOW states in rather small print, this is OEM and no documentation, CD or shield comes with the system.
While the quality of the board install was above par, I will not do business with AscendTech due to misleading or untruthful advertising and an apparent lack of customer service.

Dear Gary,
The description DOES say that this board is OEM and comes with no accessories. There are other retail boards to choose from.
If you need drivers or manual, please contact our technical department at support@asendtek.com

I received the ECS RC410-M LGA775 DDR2 PCIe x16 SATA HP MOBO I ordered as promised in the time specified and after two weeks, my system is working like brand new. I will definitely recommend Ascendtech to friends & associates in the future.

this company is a NIGHTMARE...I would NEVER do business with them...I order an FX5200 video card...they send me what they say is an FX5200, but the card has no VGA connector...it has a single connector which, after a lot of research, I find out is a DMS-59 connector (which no one has ever heard of)...they won't take it back...I called to dispute the credit...ascendtech then calls me at home (which the credit card company said was very improper) and says they are going to report me for "theft"...I would NEVER deal with this company
11/12 update (after ascendtech reply below)...you can see how they always refer to their "description", not just for me but a LOT of other CUSTOMERS who have had problems as well...let me give an analogy:
This is like a company having a name brand – say Ford – car wheel, but that it is for a unique custom made car, that won’t fit on a standard car, even though it may be the same “size” wheel – say 15-inch. Then they advertise the wheel for sale as a Ford 15-inch wheel and include the custom made car name – that no one has ever heard of before – say it’s “X39”. So the for sale ad says “Ford 15-inch wheel, X39.”
Well, no one would know what X39 is or has to do with a Ford 15-inch wheel, rationally assume the Ford 15-inch wheel would work on their Ford car that needs a 15-inch wheel, and buy it. Then it obviously does not fit, the buyer calls them back, and they say “that’s what you ordered – the description said X39”.
If the company has some weird part, they need to make it clear to the consumer.
The BOTTOM LINE is I don't want the card. I told them I would GLADLY send it back when they sent me a pre-paid mailer or RMA number. They said for me to send it back I would have to pay the shipping, and since I said I would not do that, they said they are reporting me for "THEFT". THAT is how ascendtech treats their CUSTOMERS. The descriprion clealry stated this is a DMS-59 video card. Please read before you buy or call our technical department if you are not sure.
This customer ordered a wrong item, then made a charge back, we agreed to issue him a full refund hoping he would be honest and return the card. He never did.

Their prices seem good, but the RMA process is not reasonable or fair. I ordered a motherboard which arrived in a malfunctioning state (bad ethernet and soundcard), and after shipping the board back (which I had to pay for) and the tech determining that the board was defective, they charged me a 20% "restocking fee" (to restock the trash bin I assume), charged me for the original FREE shipping, and did not refund my return shipping. After all of this, I ended up with a refund reduced to 20$ for something that was completely their fault. I will never buy from this company again.

Dear Todd,
Your motherboard was tested good by our technical department. The problem is on your end. You did not want to get the board back, so we issued you a refund per our policy.
