Very good buying experience. I ordered my product, and received the tracking number the next day. It was very easy to navigate and buy from the site. Shipping is about one week from Canada to Southern California, which is a reasonable amount of time for five dollar shipping. My only complaints are the support; navigating around the knowledge base is a little difficult, and when I tried to retrieve my password (I forgot my password) to log into the site, it said an e-mail was sent, but I never received one. I will be recommending my friends to this site.

Absolute pleasure to do business with. Placed my order on 16, it was shipped next day. Arrived promptly using UPS 4.95$ shipping. After the nightmare I went through with mrmodchips consolesource was an absolute pleasure. Will order again when the need arises.
Thanks Consolesource.

The Good:
- Arrived 7 days from order, including a 3-day delay because one item was out of stock.
- Good response on phone calls -- very helpful
- They list where they ship from (Ontario) ... a lot of stores bury this information, which makes it hard to tell if it will get shipped cross-border (and thus incur more fees).
- Returns process was relatively painless. Took 5 days to process after they received it.
The Bad:
- Hard to get in contact with: No response on support tickets, numerous times where phones aren't answered during business hours, sometimes for hours on end.
- The advertised "flat rate shipping" doesn't apply to some items. If you pick one of these items (which aren't marked), the shipping cost doubles without notice.
- No notification was given when my order was delayed or shipped. When delayed, the status of the order just changed to "Queued". All items were listed as in-stock, and 'will ship in 24 hours' when it was ordered.
- Online stock indicators lie; The product that my order was delayed for was still happily "In Stock" on the website during my 3-day delay.
- No option for Canadian currency. Buying locally should not involve foreign currency exchange.
- Before ordering, I called and asked whether one product would work with another. They said Yes, it would. Further, the product pages list each other under "related products". After it was delivered, I find out that the products are not compatible with each other, and won't work.
- The RMA request went unanswered for 5 days, far beyond the 24-48 hours listed on the site. The RMA notice arrived a few minutes after I phoned in and asked about it.
- Again, no notice that they had received the RMA. Had to call in 5 days after they received the package and ask about the status: got the refund the next day.
Overall, when I could get ConsoleSource on the phone, everything was easy and taken care of, but don't bother sending in tickets, they don't get answered. I definitely don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from this retailer (each time I'm left in the dark about what's going on with my order, get no response, or can't get in contact with them, I feel like I've been ripped off). However, if you have the patience to micromanage your order if there are any problems, they are decent at actually delivering the order. This review was modified by its author, chireru, on

When trying to weed through the companies that offer some of the more unique and specialized accessories for current and previous generation video game consoles it can be tough finding one that is reliable and always follows through in a professional manner. These "specialty shops" are a dime a dozen and finding reviews from people that have been ripped off by some of the fly-by-night places are easy to find. For those that have found consolesource.com though, the worry will fade away.
I have used consolesource.com numerous times and I always receive the item as expected, when expected and in the condition expected. After ordering my first M3 DS Simply and being so satisfied with the process I decided to order another one as a mothers day present for my mom. Consolesource.com offers the various shipping methods that allowed me to get the item here in time for making it a mothers day gift and everyone was happy with the results.
For those that decide to use consolesource.com you will be pleased to find the detailed order history from current and previous orders. You can sign up for their newsletter and receive discounts on your next purchase. I would be using them again soon but, at no fault of their own, They can't ship certain products to the United States any longer due to restrictions put in place by Nintendo. Don't let that keep you from browsing through their huge selection of unique and interesting devices and any of those that can be shipped to the US. When I'm looking for that hard to find item I always start with consolesource.com before resorting to any of the less trustworthy companies.

Consolesource.com promised me that they would send out the item I purchased within 24 hours. It wasn't until today, tuesday, that the item was sent. I had sent them an email asking and i got no reply. I tried to talk to some one on a chat on their website but never got service, so I finally called they. they couldn't have been nicer, to my surprise. We will see if it comes within the next 4 days as they say it will.

Well this was my first poor online purchasing experience. I placed my order for HD Extreme Combo on February the 8th my Amex was charged the very next day and I waited for my order, and I waited and waited and waited. Finally I contacted them on the 18th and raised a ticket. I had no response until the 21st where they sent me the Canada post tracking number, didn't bother to look into it themselves, after a quick look into it the package appeared to be picked up but that's the only record, Canada Post informed me that Console Source needed to raise a problem report which I passed on to the vendor , but certainly something I should not have to be doing. I had no response to my issue as per usual as it seems so I raised another ticket on the 22nd requesting a response to when I would have my order or a refund as well as an email requesting the same. Again no response so finally I told them to refund my money and forget the order on the 25th and refund my money to which they finally responded today on the 26th of February, I doubt I will get my refund in a timely fashion.
My advice is avoid these guys like the plague, I wish I has known their poor track record before ordering from them and certainly regret doing so. I'd stick with modchip.ca as it seems they have a excellent record.
February 28 Update- Well I got my refund today, so they were very quick on providing the refund from the date they said I would get it(Jeff called me yesterday and informed me I was being refunded), only a minor annoyance they charged my credit card $51.71 and refunded $51.10, $0.60 short, not worth bitching about I know, probably an exchange rate issue, c'est la vie. 21.01.08
Called 4 times, no answer.
Sent 4 emails, no answer.
Opend 2 tickets, no answer.
Item pending delivery since 10.01
23.01.08
Had a chat with Jeff yesterday, via the realperson chat.
Jeff told me that my item will ship the same day.
Well...Jeff lied. Its now been 48 hours and its still in their warehouse.
Still no responce regarding the emails i sent.
Tryed calling them again, no answer.
Sent them my final email stating that if i get no responce within 4 days, i will have visa reverse the charges. Reading and replying to one goddamned email can not be that hard. All i want is a "We know, we are dealing with it"
27.01.08
Order now reads as complete, also got the same generic reply to all my emails. Have called the company a total 8 times in the meantime, without success, and yes i know what your business hours are, i work closely with people from Canada.
If you need something fast and would like some customer service, go to divineo, maxconsole or llama.
If you ever feel like waiting for nonexistant customer service from a company that blatantly lies to their customers, and is run by one guy, from his mums basement, stick with consolesource. It does not get any worse.
Too bad visa cant give me back the time i wasted on this. This review was modified by its author, edtamm, on

I don't usually write reviews, but this vendor requires a special treatment.
I ordered a birthday present for my coworker/roomie on August 31, see? It would be the best idea to send the order to other place than my home/work place. So I picked my wife's name and work address for the delivery info. All hunky-dory right?
One month passed (late October), no package came, so I asked what is the status of the order, they answered that the item was backordered! No notification whatsoever! They said it would be delivered in about 2 weeks. Fine, I'll wait. I'm a patient man.
Another month passed! I asked the Live Help they have on their site, why is it not coming yet. They replied that the package was returned to sender! Why didn't they ever inform me?? I had to pay for the re-send fee of $12 (with tracking number this time, learned my lesson dealing with them) to send the package to my work place under my name figured that I will give the present on the spot since it was way passed due.
After numerous requests for tracking number, they finally gave me one two days ago, and today was the day (Nov 30!). I guess this horrible experience ended today right? Get this, they shipped the stuff with my name on it, to my wife's work address! For a signature required package to boot!
Anyway, just called UPS to reroute the package to my address.
In conclusion, it has been a pleasant ride with them, it only took 3 full months to do this simple transaction. That's why I gave them a big fat ZERO "NOT RECOMMENDED" POINT for the ratings. Good job Consolesource, you deserved it.
Zero for the incompetent shipping department, zero for lousy communication. And one more thing regarding Live Help: why do I need to put my order ID on the provided field if they just going to ask for it again every single time??

I ordered from this company online because they were located in Canada, and out of the few online stores that are, they were the only ones that had what I wanted in stock at the time. (CycloDS Evolution)
I ordered on a Wednesday, and the product was in my mailbox by Monday.
This is how online shopping should be. I'd definitely order from these guys again.
08-16-2007 Update: Well I did order from these guys again, and although the delivery wasn't as speedy as my first time order, I have to give credit to Console Source for responding to my email inquiries in a timely fashion. On my second order, after two weeks of not receiving anything, I made an inquiry via email and received notice back from them that on of my items was delayed in delivery. My biggest problem with this was that at the time of placing my order and even before I sent the inquiry email, the item I ordered was listed as 'In Stock' on their site. So they gave me the choice of waiting for delivery or just remove that one item from the order. I chose to remove it and received my other items a couple of days later. Kudos to Console Source for responsive communication via email, but I was slightly dismayed at the Site not being up to date. (Although RIGHT NOW as I check their site it does state that the item I wanted has an ETA of next week).
I'd still order from them in future. This review was modified by its author, TMB333, on

I ordered an M3 DS Simply along with a 1GB Kingston MicroSD card from their site. The shipping cost was pretty expensive, but I thought "I have a couple extra bucks anyway". My problem is not with the shipping - it was fairly quick, actually.
My problem is that my product does not work. After literally 5 1/2 hours of messing with it, looking up information, and responding to forums, everyone (including myself) have come to realize it is simply busted.
UPDATE: So I submitted a ticket to the RMA to request an RMA #. Two days later I received a reply that simply says this:
"Have you checked out the official support forums at this link for details:
http://www.m3-forum.com/"
No RMA #, no nothing but a link to a support forum exactly like the countless ones I'd already been to.
edit [6/26/07]:
I sent my product back (for repair) on 6/2/07, about 24 days ago. Haven't heard a single word via e-mail or phone, nothing.
edit [6/28/07]:
Finally I got an e-mail stating that they received my package, and are planning to return it back to me soon. I'm glad.
My package should arrive someday soon I suppose, they didn't really give me any amount of days or a time period or anything. I was surprised to find that in their most recent e-mail, they are offering to pay the returned item shipping charges for me, along with a $25.00 credit. I don't really care for the credit (I'd rather have cash) because I'm still unsure on whether or not I want to continue buying from them, but we'll see in the future.
Originally when my product arrived, it was on time and everything, it just did not work. Had my product worked, none of this trouble would have even happened. So there's that to consider. My product just came in a little brown box, no peanuts or anything to protect it, though. Consider that also.
FINAL EDIT [8/7/07]: This company has pissed me off to no end. In my last update, on [6/28/07], I told you they finally sent me an e-mail saying they are shipping my product back to me "soon". I replied the same day and asked "Could you reply and let me know what date?", of course I receive NO answer, to this day. I am still without my package, and have no idea if it has even been SHIPPED yet, and it's been like this from [6/28/07] - today, [8/7/07]. This is my final edit of my overly-long review. I am so incredibly fed up with this company and their god-awful customer service towards me. I am a customer and do not deserve to be left in the dark, sitting here for MONTHS waiting for my repaired package, not even knowing when it was or IF IT HAS BEEN shipped. Now I don't even give a rat's behind whether or not consolesource.com likes this review. This is the honest truth, and if they try to reply and "clear things up" for the rest of you, I can't wait to laugh at whatever crap they'll try and say to somehow make it all work. :P
Anyway, I'm done with this company. I sent them an angry e-mail 7 days ago. In it, I tell them if I don't hear a reply within 3 or so days, I'm editing my review again. I ended up being nice and gave them 7 days. A full week. Still no reply. If you buy from this company, enjoy your non-existent customer service! :)
A Lasting impression: [9/11/07] Well, it is now Sept 11th. I just now received a refund email stating that I have been refunded. It hasn't shown up in my account yet, but I suspect it will very soon. Guess what, though - It shows they are refunding the Kingston MicroSD card and the M3 DS Simply, the two products I paid for. This total is only $69.94. They are apparently not refunding the two shipping amounts I've had to pay, the first one for the product to me, nor the second shipping cost for returning it back to them. A total of around $22+.
Basically, I have, from [5/20/07] to [9/11/07], been through hell and loads of frustration, and handed out $22 of my hard-earned money to some incompetent strangers who will only reply to you once every blue moon. (Oh, and with no more than one sentence, mind you).
What a great lasting impression for this company to leave for myself and everyone else! :) This review was modified by its author, jonneh, on

Paid $17 for UPS Expedited shipping on a $40 Xeno mod for the 360. That was on 5/19. It was marked 'Complete' on www.consolesource.com on 5/22 and should have arrived within 4 business days. UPS shows a scheduled delivery date of 5/29 on tracking # 1ZR692V46854924094. I tried to call but, you guessed it, busy signal on the toll free and direct dial. I opened a ticket stating that the delayed shipping was fine but I wanted the difference refunded. That was Tuesday the 22nd - no response to date aside from the immediate automated one. I work in sales and understand the value of keeping customers happy. I should have known better. Consolesource.com operates identically to those Canadian outfits that used to sell DirecTV and Dish Network hash codes.....SHADY. I can only assume my order will be received by the 29th but it will likely be poorly packed based on the other posts. I went to the Ontario BBB website looking for another phone number and didn't find one. I was able to see that this company has an UNSATISFACTORY rating with them - shocker. I will never do business with this company again and can only hope it will fold, as it deserves to since it has no regard for the customer.

08 June 2007
The M3 Simply arrived, taking exactly six weeks after the order. Never gonna buy from there anymore.
Sorry guys..
07 June 2007
Three days ago (as soon as I asked for a refund) they replied saying that they were going to start a tracking with canadapost.ca and if the package was lost they were going to give me my money back. It's the third day today and I still haven't received any reply: does it take so long to track a package??? In total it's been 6 weeks since my order.
04 June 2007
Submitted a ticket two days ago asking for a refund. No answer yet.
30 May 2007
Submitted another ticket, saying that those "next day or two" now turned into six days (as of today). Let's see what's going to happen.
28 May 2007
"A day or two", as they told me when replying to my ticket, have gone already. The package is still nowhere to be seen.
25 May 2007
Yesterday they answered to my first ticket and today to the second. The first said that my order was going to be delivered in a day or two, the second that they were going to start tracking the package. That's eight days and three days after I submitted the two tickets.
Let's see where this leads.
FIRST POST: 22 May 2007
I live in Italy and placed an order for the M3 DS Simply with a 1GB card.
This happened on the 29th of April and the order appears on their website to be completed.
As of today, the 22nd of May, I haven't received anything yet, but this is somewhat ok, because of the time that a package can take to get to Italy from the US (although this never happened to me before I understand that bureacracy can get in the way at times).
The problem is that I contacted them via email twice (once thursday the 17th and once yesterday) regarding this issue and still haven't received a single reply.
Right now I'm not satisfied at all and I would think twice about placing another order with a company that doesn't answer its customers email, even just to say that they're checking if everything's alright. This review was modified by its author, Masatomo, on

I had purchased a "DMS4 EZI S.E. PRO Solderless Mod Chip" from consolesource.com - because their prices where around $10 cheaper than the other sites selling the same product. A handful of friends of mine have been curious about modding their systems, but where skeptical and wanted someone else to mod their system first before they would think of doing the same. I stepped up to be the first of my peers to finally buy a solderless chip. Here is the timeline of events thus far.
Feb 9th
Order placed on www.consolesource.com
Feb 16th
e-mailed them back from their ordering e-mail I got my confirmation from (with no tracking #) to find out if I could get a tracking #, ETA, or a date the item was sent.
Feb 17th
After no e-mail response, I submitted a ticket to their 'Support Helpdesk' asking the same question, and an e-mail arrived immediately after saying that I would be contacted shortly.
Feb 18th
No response
Feb 19th
Sent in a response to the same ticket asking why it was taking so long to be responded to "very shortly".
Feb 20th
Submitted a "critical" ticket, stating for them to look at the first ticket and finally respond to it.
Feb 21st
Still no response at all, I made a response to the critical ticket stating my discontent for this awful customer service. My package still hasn't arrived.
I would feel better, and have no qualms if I at the very least got some sort of response. You can't set up a business like this and blow off your customers. According to Resellerrating.com on Console Source, they seem to have no problem quickly getting to responding to criticism, but they can't respond to their customers complaints and questions on their own web site? Reading what I have on here makes me think I probably just lost out on $80 of my hard earned money. This is the shottiest customer service I've ever experienced... Do NOT buy from these people.
If I don't receive a response, tracking number, or my package by the beginning of next week, I'm going to cancel the order and dispute the charge to my bank.

Information on their website is misleading for example their phone # and the items in stock...Got their real number from searching Better Business Bureau website. The first representative quoted me that they shipped my order last week and that their website will send out a confirmation and tracking number email. The next day no confirmation has been sent. I called the Second time a rep told me that they got the part in and they will be shipping it that day. I am really frustrated on the run around info they are giving out. I hope my frustration is voiced through this testimonial.. and P.S. it is been 2 weeks and still waiting on my order and no word on the confirmation/tracking email...
