Update: I have since been contacted by Play-Asia, and was impressed by the way they handled the complaint, they wanted to know what could be done to improve it in the future, and if I could be more specific on the problem I had. They explained what happens on their side, and I now better understand the situation.I truely felt the company wanted to correct the problem, and were honestly sorry about the incident. I would have no problem purchasing from them again in the future. And they have found a way to make a repeat customer happy once again. Thank you.  
 
I have made 35 purchases from Play -Asia in the last 3 years. The service has gotten considerable worse. I am very unhappy with the customer service and extremely disappointed with the delivery. The only reason I continue to use this service is becasue I am a Canadian living in Korea, and dont know of any other methods of purchasing U.S. games in Korea. I will stop using their service, as soon as I find an alternative.

Have been ordering console accessories from Play-Asia for about 2 years now and they've never failed to give the best price and service in Southeast Asia.  
 
Order just arrived today (May 12, 2009) and the YPbPr Power Box I ordered arrived in good condition and worked perfectly when I tested it with my Xbox1 and Wii :D

I have ordered several items through play-asia and they do a solid job of keeping you informed of the status of your order (on hold, being prepared, shipped, delivered). The product came packaged well so that it was not damaged on arrival. The products arrive quickly as long as your willing to pay. To me it is worth it :)  
 
I have done a different order without tracking and I suffered a agonizing wait.I recommend using shipping that is expedited with tracking otherwise it may take 4 weeks for your order to arrive. Waiting that long and not knowing the status of your shipment is just too painful when the item is coming from HK.

Earlier I had ordered the NECA Ninja Gaidan figure from stock.. Play-Asia shipped it in 20 days! I was very happy. And I appreciate them for that! Highly excited I Pre-ordered few Series 3 NECA Gears of War Figures!  
 
Waited for the Release date....  
 
On 23-Feb-2009 I get a mail that my Credit card Transaction was rejected!  
 
I mailed them immediately:  
asking why the Credit Card was rejected? Also I was not able to view and make changes to the Credit card details.  
 
I mentioned that I had used the same credit Card order a toy from them!  
 
Also asked them if I am still getting what I pre-ordered after giving new credit card details?  
 
Then I get a reply that my credit card is rejected because the bank decline the transaction. I can contact your bank for more information about the transaction. Since all  
items in your order has been sold out, They have cancelled your order!!!  
 
I used the card so often for Online shopping for many years, it never had any problem, Until Play-asia tried to ship me a Pre-Ordered toy!

I think Play-Asia had never got the figures in stock in the first place! This is just a CHEAP LAME EXCUSE by them to tell they do cannot ship the pre-ordered figure! Whats the point of pre-ordering when Play-Asia DOESN'T SAVE OUR FIGURE WHEN IT COMES INTO STOCK! Why did they Cancel the order and not BackOrder the figures or give me option to change my payment method?  
 
While I waited here, the figure went out of stock in my other favorite online retailstore! I cancelled all my Pre-Orders after this! Had Enough!  
 
Play-Asia should limit the number of pre-ordrs and freeze the pre-order once set number of orders are placed.

1st order with Play Asia was on 2008 September 23 when i first started to collect anime figures and to date, i have made 9 orders for 13 items.  
 
Perhaps because i live in Asia, so my orders always reach me within a week or so as Play Asia is located in Hong Kong and is only a 5-hour flight away.  
 
I never had any issues with Play Asia's delivery, transactions and customer service.  
 
There were 2 incidents which were rather noteworthy though.  
 
1) I made a pre-order for 2 figures on Play Asia (orders #12812953 & #13279423) which i had to wait for over 3 months from the initial order. However, true to their policy; Play Asia only billed me via my credit card when the order was shipped.  
 
Moreover, with regrads to order #13279423 which was supposedly a "rare" figurine, i made a couple of email enquiries and customer service responded within 24 hours.  
 
Please note that since Play Asia is located in Hong Kong, time zone differences should be factored in for response times / dates. Although the reply was rather "generic" and a little vague, it was more due to a lack of information from the Japanese supplier and logistics more than anything else. The lady was extremely polite to the point of apologetic, imho.  
 
Suffice to say, i have received both my figures in good condition and am extremely satisfied with pricing (both figures were actually more expensive in my country although they arrived earlier) and customer service  
 
2) Order #13506821 was made in Nov/Dec 2008 for an art book which was listed as "In Stock" but i received an email which stated that it was actually over-ordered and they had to delay the order. Nothing was billed to my credit card,.  
 
Play Asia customer service also promised to back order direct from Japan and i received my art book within a week and a half. Excellent service despite the initial hiccup.  
 
Overall, i will still continue to patronise Play Asia due to my great experiences over a 6 month period with 9 orders and 13 items!

I paid for my order the day it came out (April 17th) and it shipped Fri in the US from HK, I got it Monday 4/20. TALK ABOUT SPEEDY SERVICE!!! Thank you Play-Asia for the Fastest Delivery I have ever received!

I never have had any problems with the 10+ orders I've completed with Play-Asia. I trust them and their judgment over many import sites. They have amazing deals and I enjoy visiting on a regular basis to see what deals they have have.  
 
I feel the need to make this post because I've read a few of the negative positing about customer service and comprehension. Maybe I'm a little more understanding, but you are dealing with people from a different country and you have to expect hicups every now and then.  
 
Just remember this, when something is done well that makes you happy you might tell 4 people. When something is done wrong you will tell 12. It's amazing that Play-Asia has such a high rating here. People much rather complain than take time to praise like this. I recommend everyone deal with these guys.

I placed an order for this popular 'High School Of The Dead Non Scale Pre-Painted PVC Figure: Busujima Saeko' back in early December (a full 2 months before it was released) and it was not until recently that play-asia has informed me via e-mail that the order was cancelled because it was sold out. I am angry because of a few reasons. First of all it originally said on the site it will be released in February. February comes and goes then it got delayed till March (on the site it said March 2009 release) then it got delayed till April then comes middle of April they cancelled my order. Whatever you read on their site about your order is generally confirmed if you preorder is NOT AT ALL accurate. I'm really mad because had they been more forthcoming with their supplies (or in this case lack of) issue, I could have ordered from another company but because they stalled so long I can no longer buy from other companies because they became out of stock already. This is unacceptable because if they didn't have stock they could've told me back in early February (it was released by other companies already at that time) instead of stalling till 2 weeks ago to tell me sorry we've cancelled your order. Now I cannot buy this item anymore thanks to all the stalling. I read some of the other customers' review about problems with preorders so if you guys have any doubt as to my situation just read other reviews. Your preorder guarantee is MEANINGLESS. Now I'm going to have to order with another company and theres a good chance that it is too late for me to get this item. :(  
I have decided to place my order with another company at the moment seeing how stock replenishing from them in the near future seems unlikely.

I've bought numerous items from here; various games, collectors' items, the largest item being a PS3 bundle and I've never once had an issue with them. On the times I have had to contact them with queries they've responded promptly and succinctly. I could not recommend PlayAsia enough.

i really love this shopping site. I can buy the game guide which is hard to find here. But a big problem is play asia always giving you a guide with little damage, in collecter view, i hate this. My little big planet guide have the cover damage and my star ocean guide also have little damage on its side. I have brought 3 guides from that site, but 2 out of 3 have damaged, i feel so dispointd on it.

Afer a number of purchases and a general good experience I am thoroughly dissappointed with play-asia's order splitting policy. I originally ordered RB2 and the guitar - using UPS for shipping as it is a large item. After a number of weeks was told that the guitar was on backorder and the game would be shipped by itself with the postage split. I was charged $15.40 US for postage for the game only to Australia and given no option to send by economy (usually $3). Now I've cancelled the guitar since it is now over 2 months since I ordered I'm out of pocket for this ridiculous postage cost. Tried to explain the situation to play-asia over email and was dismissed - "The game has already been shipped by UPS. This fact cannot be changed." - couldn't believe it - no offer of a coupon compensation or a simple apology. Very poor customer service and I would recommend not buying from this retailer if you have a multiple item order when one or more items aren't in stock. I myself will not be ordering through them again.

I was expecting a fast reply from the site and also quick shipping. They took about four days to reply to my order, which was nonsense compared to all those fast one-day replies and whatever that I heard, and I'm still waiting for it to be shipped(supposedly today). When I contacted them and queried if they were still preparing to ship my order or have already shipped it(because it was supposed to be shipped today, but the order status was preparing order). And now they told me that they have problems restocking the order. Shouldn't that have been mentioned on the page of which product I ordered? And the product's page still isn't mentioning it... I think we have a communication problem some where here.

I am very disappointed with Play-Asia, they used to be pretty good, now sadly they are like many other online retailers and send you whatever they feel like and in whatever condition they feel like sending, once they have your money a return or refund is like a lottery depending on who replies to your email.  
 
I purchaed an item and as a games collector I was not happy that it was damaged, so I returned it registered post over a month ago, only to be told last week when I emailed them to be patient they would get back to me.  
 
I do not see them getting back to me and now have nothing to show for it no refund and no game.  
 
Save yourself the hassle and buy close to home where you can see the product and be happy with it.
