Surprisingly fast shipping(although they're a state away) and the lowest prices anywhere for a lot of items.  
Happy with the OEM wireless mouse although the range was vastly exaggerated(claimed ~300ft with a 12ft range mouse.)  
Modems have always worked fine, same for network cards.  
Got a wrong item (RJ-45 connectors instead of boots) and have to RMA it despite both being less than shipping costs. Have yet to decide if I care that much.

I have been trying to resolve a dispute with Gearxs for almost three months. I gave them plenty of time to make it right, but now I've had it. I ordered a wireless mouse and usb lan adapter on 9-9-06. Received them 9-14-06. Both items were crammed into a modem box. The mouse was actually bending the box because it didn't fit. Mouse didn't work at all, lan adapter wouldn't stay connected. Requested and received rma. Sent both items Back in same box. Return receipt says they received the items 9-25-06. Heard nothing for two weeks. Emailed them 10-9-06 they said it would be processed by the end of the week. Received email 10-11-06 saying they shipped replacement for mouse. No word on the lan adapter. Received second mouse and it was not only dead, but the serial numbers were blacked out. Emailed them from their site, no answer. Sent another email 10-22-06 complaining about the second dead mouse and what about the lan adaptor. They issued a second rma for the second dead mouse. I sent it back. On 11-17-06 they issued me a credit for five dollars less than what I paid for the mouse. Still no word on the lan adapter. After numerous emails, they are now claiming I never sent back the lan adapter, even though it was sent back to them along with and in the same box the first dead mouse was received in. Furthermore, at least four-hundred-and-fifty of the positive feed back posted at Pricewatch concerning Gearxs are fraudulent, posted in batches of as many as 49 in a 31 minute period. Some customers are lucky, do you really want to take the chance? If a company is that unscrupulous, how can you possibly trust them? I'm contacting the Illinois Better Business Bureau and the Cook County State Attorney General to lodge complaints, as well as the FTC as the poster below suggests.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I ordered an AGP card with TV-out, they shipped me a PCI card with no TV-out. I got an RMA, then they re-shipped another of the wrong product! Complete with a copy of my e-mail requesting a TV-out card! Not once did gearxs offer to refund my shipping and now I'm stuck with this crappy card that I didn't order because their arcane return policy would actually wind up costing me more than the card is worth. this is a bait-and-switch company. I encourage all to go to http://www.consumer.gov/sentinel/ and file a complaint with the FTC. This is the only way to help try to stop this fraud.

I purchased a tiga motheboard socket A, if you want drivers extra cost, if you want a manuel extra cost, if you want a warrenty longer than 7 days extra cost, if you want it to work when it arrives extra cost. No plate offered to match mb output/input devices. Motherboard arrived doa. I had to pay to ship it back- payed $43.98 for the board and after spending a little over $50 was given a $32.38 credit - no explanation why from the vendor. I order a computer case to salvage what was left of my investment. The case came with the top and both sides bent up and the panel that holds the motherboard caved in. I could bend all the metal with my fingers including the power supply box, 3 of the plastic supports on the front panel were broken and it could flap in the wind. The cardboard box that the case came in was almost in perfect condition. The motherboard serial number was 0203 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12. Are there any consumer protection laws or an attorney general's office in the state Gearxs operates out of. I will never buy anything from any vendor in this state.

I ordered 7 modems and 4 sticks of RAM from Gearsxs, the modems arrived on time, but no memory. I called and was told that the RAM will arrive soon or I'd get a call. No Memory, no call after 8 days. I called again and informed them that I wanted my memory, afterall I had paid for it 8 days earlier, it must be mine...I also told them that their modems don't work with Windows 2000. The response was to offer me other RAM for a higher price; I was kinda hoping for some sort of apology and maybe an offer of an upgrade for my patience. An order of 7 modems should have told them that I probably deal with more than one computer (as a matter of fact, I can use up those 7 modems in a couple of weeks). In conclusion: poor service, poor products and poor attitude, I won't be ordering from them again.  
 
I was able to RMA the modems through the manufacturer. Got new retail boxed modems for the OEM modems sent by GearsXS.

I am CEO of an E-Business Ventures Company. I purchased 2G of PC4200 memory on Saturday, September 16th, 2006. They emailed me a tracking number with the USPS, but it only lists data acceptance information, and they do not say whether or not it was actually shipped. On the 27th I emailed them and asked what happened to my order, “I never received a response”. On Friday the 29th, I sent them another email and again received no response. On Tuesday, October 3rd I was actually able to make the time to call them (they have a 1-800 number but they are only open from 10am to 4pm CST M-F). Their representative reviewed the order and told me my order would be at my door by "The end of the week". He offered no explanation when I asked and did not even apologized for the inconvenience. Here it is Saturday, 21 days or 17 possible delivery days later and I have nothing. I have no idea what is wrong or why my order has not come, but they have done nothing to rectify the problem or even offered an explanation. This is very bad customer service, and as everyone knows in the e-commerce business that is what makes or breaks you. As far as I am concerned they are either in way over there heads or just do not care.

Forget using a phone. No live people for rma's, customer service or placing orders. Got sent defective memory. Got an automated RMA # but no instructions on sending it back or getting a replacement. Cannot contact anyone so far.

Item (memory stick) shipped on 9/1/06 and I still haven't received it as of 9/22/06. I have contacted GearXS twice but have received no response. Have had similar problems in past. I won't be dealing with them in the future.

Grab bag of computer parts delivered fast, in good working order, but with an unauthorized substitution (a floppy drive downgrade). Substitution was replaced promptly, at no cost to me. They contacted me, attempting to change my computer-case order, but they backed off when I pointed out that the sales-rep had confirmed the availability of the case I wanted.  
 
BOTTOM LINE: good prices, but place your order through a rep, verify availability of everything, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, and be polite but VERY FIRM. They'll make good, but those great prices may cost you some phone time and hassle. For me it's worth it. For you?..

I purchased a Belkin USB to serial adapter I’m very dissatisfied as they sold me a store return or a used item under false pretense of “brand new in blister package”.  
 
The item was not in blister package and it did not come with all the accessories. The RS-232C connector on the item showed clear signs of previous use. I called them immediately to report this.  
 
I have purchased two of these from them and one was in like new conditions with all the accessories in a blister pack, however the blister pack did have a tag that read “CompUSA”, which is a clear indication the product was a store return rather than “brand new”.  
 
Customer service was not cooperative and the manager, who’s name I believe was RAF was rude and had a combative attitude. He stated “sometimes they come in a package, sometimes they don’t”. I read back the description of the merchandise right off the page, however he insisted the item is new, but don’t always come in the “blister pack”.  
 
With some persistence, he agreed to exchange the item for one in a blister pack. I demanded to be provided a postage label as it was clearly their fault that item was not described.  
 
He refused to provide a return label citing “we don’t do return labels for a $12 item, it’s something we consider for a much more expensive item”. I made it clear I should not have to pay return postage. He acknowledged I do not have to pay postage, then instructed me to “seal the package back up, mark ‘refused’ and throw it in a mailbox’ “.  
 
From my knowledge that constitutes postal fraud, so I contacted the Postal Service and they stated it is not legal to return an item in that manner.  
 
I called back the manager, informed him that it is unlawful to do so as told by US Postal Service. He became angry with me for asking the Postal Service, stated his authority and claimed “I’m the manager, I know what I’m doing, just seal it, don’t take it to the Post Office, throw it in a blue mail box, it will work”.  
 
I refused to do this, so I had to eat the postage. I returned the used product that was sold to me as “new” along with cable and partial accessories it did come with.  
 
I then, got a replacement unit, but was missing a cable. When I called regarding this, the manager stated he thought I was just going to return the main unit, then agreed to send me a cable.  
 
He did not send me the original Belkin® brand that goes with the unit, instead a generic, less valuable substitute.  
 
In conclusion, I bought an item advertised as brand new, but was sold a used/returned item and I was asked by the manager to return the item to them through fraudulent use of the USPS “refuse mail” service to save them from having to send me a postage label at their expense.  
 
If you’re asked to do the same, please keep in mind this is a postal fraud. I suggest you get a chargeback through your credit card, or just pay the postage and report them to US Postal Inspector for plotting a mail fraud at http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx

Ordered a Gigabyte 7VT600P-RZ motherboard. Received the item sooner than expected, and even though the shipping was free, I received it on a saturday, and not just any saturday, but a holiday weekend (Memorial day)!  
 
I am extremely satisfied with the transaction and plan to do business with them again.

Order shipped, and was the correct item. Very unhappy with the sale because of false advertising..

In the description it says:  
-AMD Athlon socket A processors with 100/133 MHz FSB  
 
Out of the box, it only supports up to a 132mhz bus, which causes my Athalon XP 2400 processor to only run as an Athalon XP 1800. Via does not provide bios updates for this generic board, so I had to go to esupport.com. They want $39.95 for a bios update to support a 133mhz FSB processor. I've emailed them and asked for links for an update, yet no response in 2 weeks. You get what you pay for people, don't order cheap motherboards from these people, they won't support it when you have a problem. I am told that yes.. hardware-wise the board will support it, but out of the box it will not because of old bios.  
 
Their shipping was fairly fast, their order processing was also not bad, all I would ask would be for support after the sale, which seems to be non-existant.  
 
I'll be happy to update this review if they ever decide to answer my support email I sent through their website.

3/14/2006 - I was ready to order 2 LG GSA-4081B DVD-RW drives and happened to scroll down. Hidden in the specs on the 3rd screen down was the word "reconditioned". Not anywhere near the description or price or "add to cart" button. It is intentional deception to bury it 3 screens down.
