This is an in store purchase. I went to the memory express in Calgary NW. I plan to buy my boy friend a computer, I compared its prices on each single items with other big online merchants, NCIX, Newegg.ca, Tigerdirect.ca, Memory Express definitely has the lowest possible price for each of the items that I am looking for. They also offer price match, so I was trying to google a lower price very hard, but didn't find any. I bought the following items:
AMD Phenom II x 2 550 3.1 GHZ Black edition,
ASUS M4A78-E Motherboard
Seagate 1TB SATA Hard drive for only $85
OCZ 700W Game XStream Power Supply
Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5
BenQ 21.5in LCD Monitor
Antec 900 Ultimate Gamer Case
The new computer is working great now. Both my boy friend and I are very happy about it. I am very happy with the prices I got, and also the store has excellent excellent customer services. It was a wonderful shopping experience at Memory Express NW store, and I will definitely go there again in the future. I’ve already told my friends and would like to recommend this store to everybody online as well.

Part we needed 109.99 we paid 121.00 They forgot to mention mandatory H/W from microsoft to boost their sales qty. Won't Go Back.

I had called memory express ahead of time to reduce confusion. The individual answering had not given me a name and just assumed I knew it (or something)? ... I say "My father in law is coming down to pick up a WinXP home edition copy, please make sure he gets the right stuff" there was A long silence on the other end, I had thought, "Oh no, I've confused the poor guy."

I explain what my F/L (Father in law) needs and that we were just in the store earlier in the day to buy some Kingston RAM.
After a few minuets of brainless confused banter "uhhh... we have a lot of customers uhhh... , I can't do that... blah, blah, blah, this is too hard" he FINALLY says "it can be put on HOLD under his phone number" (WHY DID HE NOT SAY SO IN THE 1ST PLACE?). I hang up shaking my head, thinking, this kid has begun to eat his brain via the hole he picked through his facial nostril.

The next thing I know, my father in law shows up with this disc and some wire (ATA cable) ranting, raving, swearing and cursing out the staff at memory express. He begins to explain how belittled and small he felt when these 'punk kids', laughed and joked at him. They never once offered a hint of deserved respect towards my wife's papa.

Not only was he treated poorly, but there was an unmentioned clause. in order to purchase a copy of WinXP home edition there is a required hardware purchase. Well needless to say they'll hump you coming and going. They suggest to my F/L (Father in law) here just buy this ATA cable. I latter explained to memory express manager that the computer I am working with is still using the 44 pin ribbon cable connectors. I ask could you not have sold him something he could have actually used... Like the RAM we bought this morning? oh no, that doesn't count, even with a recipt?... (whatever).

After Calming papa down with a drinky pooh or two he asks "is there another we can go to?" I reply "Yes".

As an automotive parts specialist myself, I know the job of running a counter well. I have managed several in my day. My job training has allowed me to be as abrasive as mechanics and technicians. In my 10 years dealing with memory express I always knew the counter staff can be quite prickly to deal with. but With the humiliation and insult shown to my father in law and the lack of concern to resolve the matter has terminated our patronage of memory express.

Truly Disheartened

Can you trust anyone anymore?

Well the store was good when I lived in Calgary. I have recently moved to BC and decided to try their online store. Big mistake it has been seven days and my item still hasnt been shipped. I know its close to christmas but still, seven days come on. I guess its newegg.ca for me.

Bought a new model EeePC 1000H on September 5, 2008. On September 13th they dropped the price of this new model by $70.00. I emailed the store and asked if they offered any price protection for their customers and was informed by the manager that the price protection plan was only for one week and that I was a day late in emailing.

I am quite disappointed in the store for not extending the P.P. to me for the sake of about 14 hours and for not offering a better P.P. plan.
This is based on the fact that:

1) This is a new model that was only available for purchase approximately one month ago.
2) Future Shop and Best Buy both offer 14 day price protection. Staples offers 14 day price protection with a refund of a portion of the difference!

Memory Express should realize that if they want to play with the big boys they should also be competitive with them and their policies.

I purchased a Nikkor lens and the transaction was perfect. Best of all was the price about 20$ cheaper than any other place I could find in Canada! Easy website for shopping.

I bought laptop computers, accessories and software from them three times. Their price is very competitive (plus no PST in other provinces). Everytime the order was promptly processed and shipped. They are also helpful for asking Microsoft on my behalf to send me a replacement CD.

I placed the order for all my computer parts online (previous invoice) and within a day they had all the parts organized and ready for me to pay and pick them up right from the store. Was in and out within twenty minutes with everything I needed. They have a very good selection, and very reasonable prices, their staff is friendly and always wanting to help. I will definitely purchase from this store again (3rd purchase already).

All in all I approve of the service at memory express and as a result, I am giving it a perfect 10. The service was speedy, products where layed out well and the staff's quite knowledgable in the products they sell.

My only minor grip has to do with their online product inquiry system. I sent a product inquiry using their website and have yet to hear back from them. It's still a good store, though, and I still buy alot of my computer parts from them.

I purchased Arctic Silver CPU compound and the Arctic Clean cleaning supplies From Memory Express on Sept 6. Recieved an order confirmation e-mail immediately saying that someone would contact me about my order within 24-48 hours. Got a phone call Sept 9 saying that my order would ship that day. The person was polite and nice. Later recieved a tracking number from Canada Post that day. Recieved my stuff Sept 12 around 3:30 pm. The package was shipped by Canada Expresspost. The packaging was adequate as the products were rapped with several layers of paper to prevent products from moving around inside of box. Overall, the experience was satifactory, but I have recieved products from other Online sites much quicker. But really nothing to complain about seeing that Memory Express was the ONLY Computer site selling the Arctic Clean supplies...Plus they were the cheapest.

I bought a stick of Kingston 128MB PC133 SDRAM that I thought would work for my computer. After realizing that it did not work, I went to return it for a refund.Upon returning the stick of RAM, I was told that they could not refund my purchase due to the fact that the RAM did not have a serial number affixed to it.I explained to them that at the time of sale the employee seemed somewhat confused how to scan the stick of RAM to sell me.He had the on duty manager provide some sort of override code and then sold me the RAM.At that point in time I had no idea that a missing serial number would cause me so much grief in obtaining a refund. After much debate and explaining to them that I would return all my Memory Express purchases, I was given a refund. No apologies were given for the hassle I had to endure.Any trust that I have for this company has gone out the window and I would warn any future customers to beware.Needless to say, I will never be going back to make any further purchases.

Purchased a custom computer last year (mid 2003):
- P4 2.53ghz
- Gigabyte Mobo
- 80 gig 7200rpm hdd
- 512 meg Kingston PC2700 ram
- Radeon 9000 Pro 128meg
- Creative 4.1 Surround
- Cold Cathode light in an Antec Lanboy case

Update 1 year later (mid 2004):
Windows corrupted for unknown reason, had to get MemoryExpress to investigate under warrenty (took a week and a half! Long wait time!!!).
About 2 months later my mobo fried because of overclock testing all the way back when I got the computer (I didn't have it overclocked when it died on me). Had to take it back warrenty expired, took just under a week. Got an Asus mobo.
Now playing Doom III at medium settings @ 800x600 smoothly!

PROS: Stock is good in the South store (not as great in the North)

CONS: Long service times. Not a wide variety of notebook accessories. Prices are mid-ranged, not the cheapest but decent.

I would purchase hardware and software from them again.

Purchased a A7V266 Mobo from them. It died 1 year and 2 weeks later taking my CPU with it. They gave me a RMA'ed A7A266 mobo. It died 1 year later.
