This is the promised followup to our shopping experience as stated below. We received a call from the manager the afternoon after our order had been packed up and picked up by UPS. Day late and dollar short so to speak. They apologized for the service and asked what they could do to make things right. Considering all items were now on their way back, not much they could do. I did tell him that no offer of anything came until after this review was written and the products had been returned...a little slow on the uptake if you ask me. I also told him in reference to receiving the wrong mouse a VX Revolution, that the individual I spoke to hadn't even heard of that kind of mouse....ummm...switching label doesn't seem to apply to products that you don't even know you have. I also told him that the cooler I ordered was not the two fan Targus pictured on their site. The one they sent was a single fan cooler that would have been impossible to use on your lap due to its design. I mentioned this on my first call the same gentleman unfamiliar with the mouse I had been sent and was basically told that it is just the one they were sending out at that time and that none of the coolers would be able to be used on your lap. Well I am writing this followup with my brand new G50 A1 using my brand new VX Nano mouse with my brand new Targus (TWO FAN) cooler sitting in my lap. When asked what they could do to make things right I said nothing at this point as my new puter was already ordered and on its way. I was offered a discount at one point...product at another...and lastly cash. I basically told him that you can't unbake a cake and that what happened couldn't be undone and that this offer seemed to be prompted not by customer service but rather by our on-line review. As to the refund mentioned in the stores reply...we were called on Sept 30 and told we would get a full refund...they replied online on OCT 1st stating a full refund had been provided(see their response)...we received a call on OCT 2nd stating that the returned product had arrived and that at that point a refund was processed. Today OCT 7th the credit finally made it back to our account. Timeline doesn't exactly match but we did at least get our refund and in full as promised. The manager I spoke with basically just listened to me rant about all of the above...his offers of compensation seemed more driven by the review than by actual customer service. With the several offers of compensation made it makes one wonder just how many of the very satisfied customers were purchased rater than earned. Would we use Xotic in the future...not likely...would we recommend it to others...well...there are a few people out there that I am not particularly fond of.

Received wrong laptop and wrong mouse. Horrible customer service experience. How does a company that does this for a living make this kind of mistake and not catch it until a customer discovers the error--something about "labels getting switched"? The company did not make any attempt to salvage the situation. Rather than the company doing the right thing and offering to let me keep/use the wrong computer THEY sent until I had the correct replacement in hand, they wanted me to box it up and ship it to them tomorrow. Then, they will get the correct computer sent out the end of the week, as it (supposedly) takes that long to burn in the new computer. I personally feel they are just stalling for time to make sure they receive the "wrong" laptop back before they ship out the new one, as it only took them 2 days to get this one shipped out. They apparently don't trust me (although I have given them no reason not to trust me) but I am supposed to trust THEM (they have given me several reasons not to trust them)? They are the ones who sent me the wrong laptop--a cheaper model of course--and I have my doubts they would have ever brought it my attention had I not noticed it myself. And, oh yeah, I mentioned the fact that it will be a real pain to have to take off the programs I had loaded onto the laptop before my wife (who actually purchased the computer for me as a gift) finally got a look at it and realized it was not the one she ordered. Xotic's answer to that was for me to just send it with the stuff on it, as they will just be reformatting the drive. Helllllooo! Do I trust these folks to actually do that after the experience I have just had with them? I think not.
So, I have cancelled my order and will be returning the laptop posthaste. Of course, this means the $2200 allotted towards the purchase of a new laptop will be tied up for who knows how long, delaying the purchase of a laptop from some other company by who knows how long. Very, very disappointing experience.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience & frustration caused by this uncommon situation where we mistakenly shipped the incorrect model. After being contacted by this customer that he received the wrong laptop our corrective actions included:
1. Placing a new machine into immediate production/testing and scheduled to ship out once it completed testing .
2. We issued a UPS Pick Up at our expense within hours of the customers call to pick up the laptop that was shipped in error and to be returned back to our location.
The customer ultimately canceled his order and a 100% Full Refund was refunded back to him.
We greatly apologize and regret our shipping error caused this inconvenience and frustration to the customer. We listen, learn, and adapt new systems to reduce the possibility of error. We are constantly striving to ensure that we exceed our customers expectations.

Great prices. Was sent to the wrong address but promptly corrected once I notified them. An item was missing when I received the package. 3 months later, laptop broke down, customer service was helpful but it still took a month to fix/ship. Overall, I feel they are an honest and caring company, but they need to work out a few things. They ship to Canada, which is great.

I believe I am the minority with a somewhat negative review for Xotic PC, but I have had a difficult time with my order.
I ordered a 9280 laptop on May 24, 2009 and paid by wire transfer. I am a student and needed a replacement laptop as quickly as possible. The wire transfer was the quickest way to do it. The build time was 3-7 business days, and on day 3 my order went to phase 2, which meant it was in production. I called and asked how long it would take, and I was told the parts were there and it was currently being built, so it should be shipped within the 7 business days. On day 7 the status hadn't changed so I called again. I was told the Sager parts were on back order and their first batch of laptops had already been sent out... mine not included. I was told that the parts might be in next week, in 5 days, and then it would take another 3-7 business days on top of that to build. I am already 3 semesters into a course and needed a laptop now, so I asked for a refund. Refunds are typically sent back as a check, which would have been held for an additional 5 days by most banks.

Hopefully everyone will read this and also join the ranks of those of us who are truly happy with Xoticpc. Ordered a Sager 9280 with the i7 -975 and I have to say it is truly a screamer. Your staff has been from day of ordering to now real professional , courteous and very knowledgeable. When I order my next laptop one day and I will it will be from you guys. I am also recommending you to all of my friends who are looking for laptops as well.

As soon as I received it yesterday here in Iraq. I immediately erased the hard drive reformatted it and installed XP, Vista and Ubuntu on there. Working to put fedora on there next. The Beast as I call mine is truly a screamer.

Awesome company. The product was top notch. It was delivered much quicker than I expected. They have answered every question I have had precisely and promptly. Will I buy from them again, ABSOLUTELY!!!

I was looking for a portable gaming laptop for college and did not want to by any laptops from Best Buys, or Costco. Anyways I went online and searched for custom gaming laptops and I stumbled on Xoticpc.com. I then did some research on this website/company and found nothing but positive and good comments about this website. I then decided to place my order with xoticpc. My parents wouldn't let my buy from an online store, being afraid that it was a scam. (Xoticpc is a legitimate website and company and NOT a scam.) I then called xoticpc and the sales representative, Justin W. was very helpful and answered all of my parents questions. The next day the check was in the mail, for the Gt628 pre-order. 2 months later MSI announced that the Gt628 was not to be released to the U.S. This was a bummer (not Xoticpc'S fault). I then called Justin W. and asked him if I could switch my order to the Np8662, he was very helpful and was able to switch my order to the np8662 the very minute. I only had to pay the remaining balance. After I paid the remaining balance the laptop was shipped and on it's way. 1 1/2 weeks later the laptop arrived at my front door, and I could not be much happier. The build quality is top quality, and so is the customer service! Justin W. answered all of my questions and all of my e-mails within the hour. You can't find customer support like theirs anywhere!

Final score: 10/10
Overall I trust them and will buy from them again in the future. I will also recommended them to all my friends and family. I am very happy with the Np8662 that I bought from them, it runs flawlessly! Trust me you won't regret buying from them! :-)

I was looking to purchase a 15.4" gaming notebook. I came across the Sager NP8662 on Xotic PC. My inquiries about the notebook were answered promptly by an employee name Justin. He responded in a timely manner and he was very professional. I place my order on Monday, September 21st and I received it in 8 days on Tuesday, September 29th. The notebook has exceeded all my expectations. The Sager NP8662 runs cool when I play games such as Batman: Arham Asylum and Resident Evil 5. It is portable. I've taken the notebook to class and to work. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the notebook and the process I went through to purchase it.

I've always been skeptical of ordering anything by phone, but no more! Joseph Lee was incredibly friendly and helpful; he helped through the process, helped me get the most for my money, and was just a great guy overall. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. Kudos to you, xoticpc.

Xotic PC is one of the best resellers out there. They handled my order very smoothly. I got replies to all emails in at most one business day. My 'price match' request was personally met by Justin who is a very friendly guy. Even before you decide on which laptop to buy, all your doubts can be cleared on the forum or the live chat. Knowledgeable people will help you choose a laptop that fits your needs perfectly. My credit card information could not be verified, so I simply called them up and changed it over the phone. They have a very friendly staff.
This was my first experience of buying computer in US. I am glad that I went for Xotic PC instead of 'big' names like Amazon, newegg, etc.

Well Xoticpc does it again. Not only was there sales rep knowlegable, but my new laptop which was supposed to be ready to ship in 3-7 business days, shipped in 2. Not only that but my package was shipped afterhours and now it will be here a day early. Again great respect for a company that strives to meet your every need. Hello,
my name is Vojislav Vlasic.
I'm an engineer employed in Europe.
Sometimes I travel around for some field work,or some other job related issue,of course I go to vacation also :)
I needed laptop that can work with engineering programs,and at the same time with animation and similar.
So after some research I found xotic pc's website and contacted them.
Most of the laptops that I found on the internet were descent,but not really what I needed.
Justin Woite from xotic pc responded offering several laptops which were close to what I needed.
Justin was very polite and understanding,we exchanged about 20 emails over 3 months,I felt very relaxed with a sense of security.
I never felt pressured to buy anything from them,they really try to help you as much as they can,so if you have a sudden problem (payment issue or something like that),you won't have a headache with xotic pc,they are really understanding.
When they got my payment,laptop was shipped after 6 days and it got to a shipping address in 4 days.
You can count on xotic pc personnel to do a good job,anything can be arranged,if you have some special requests they will be fulfilled.
So to sum things up,I will recommend xotic pc to my friends and co workers,I'm very pleased with everything they had done.
Justin Woite is a great guy,he will answer every question you might have in minimum time,he doesn't feel annoyed after several mails.
My only regret is that xotic pc isn't an international company,that's a shame,they deserve international status and recognition.
I wish them very best of luck and a good fortune in life,they really did a good job.

Very satisfied so far. They were extremely helpful before the sale when I gathered info. Order went very smooth and I had my laptop in hand 6 days after I ordered. Loved the Xotic PC service, which really is a great thing when dealing with computers and laptops.
Joseph L helped me with my order and even made a suggestion to me after overlooking my order, which made my shipping solution cheaper and faster.
Due to a complication with the specific laptop I ordered, I overpaid an extra $225 for my order. This money was monitored and in-time refunded by Xotic. To smooth things over for the trouble with the refund, I was contacted by customer service, who then offered me a notebook cooler free of charge.

I recently moved away to college, and I needed a laptop. I've never owned a laptop before, so I was nervous about shopping for one. Of course I did lots of research on my own, but when I emailed Xotic PC's sales department, Justin W. answered my questions promptly and thoroughly (during a weekend, no less).
I ordered a Sager NP2098 with no pre-installed operating system and with a custom skin on the back of the screen. I've had my new laptop for a few weeks now, and I've had no problems with it whatsoever. I installed Windows 7 RC1, then installed the drivers from the disk supplied with the computer -- a simpler process than I expected, and I didn't have to deal with or pay for Vista. The custom skin is beautiful and distinctive, and it covers the entire back -- reaching down the sloping sides instead of just covering the flat part. The colors are accurately reproduced from the picture in their library, which I was very pleased to see.
The skinning process did add about two weeks to the order: a week to ship it from the production facility to the skinning facility followed by four business days for the actual skinning. If there's a low point to my order, it would have to be that unexpected week-long shipping delay, but in my case it wasn't a problem so I didn't bother emailing to ask what was taking so long. All of the other stages of the order were completed within their estimated ranges, so the whole process didn't take too long.
So far I'm very happy with my purchase. With their responsive customer service, excellent selection and customization options and competitive prices, I will definitely keep Xotic PC in mind for my next laptop.
