Watch out for these clown's!!! They pulled the old "Bait and Switch" scam on me. After ordering a Canon brand battery charger(CG800,they of course offered the lowest price to draw you in)I received a phone call from NWV Direct that they were sold out of this charger and every body else was too. And it would be several weeks before they would get more in if ever.  
"But they could offer me a much more expensive universal one for the same price because of me being inconvenienced". Well I took the bait and got hooked. Its called the "Bait and Switch Scam". Google it. Look on the internet and you'll see more examples of this from NWV Direct. The charger I got is a cheap attempt and sells for much less that the one I ordered. As of today Oct5th, the company jumped right on my problem because of the post. They offered to refund my money which I did get. But they never apologize or explain the original scam they pulled. The rep who called cited lots of satisfied customers but again would not address my claim of a purposeful pulled scam. So buyer beware!

I have reasons to believe this company is one and the same as accessorycircut.com. They have the exact same order form and confirmation page and they pulled the same tired tricks on me... the bait & switch. I ordered an item, they then told me they didn't have it and wanted me to buy something else! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.  
 
TO THE SELLER: If you don't have an item available, don't list it on your page and allow customers to order it!!!  
 
EDIT TO ADD: Received a phone call from this company shortly after my review and they offered me sell me the product I wanted (the one they said they didn't have) if I were to CHANGE my review!!! Ludicrous!

Earlier today I called New World Video Direct to order some lenses for my Canon S5 IS digital camera. To be specific 1) Canon WC-DC58 58mm .75x conv lens 1) Canon TC-DC58B .5x teleconv len. 1) Canon LAH-DC20 Lens & Adapter Hood Set. My call was to verify that the items I'd be ordering online would be Brand New items and not Factory Refreshed. I got a rep by the name of Mark on the line which told me all items would be New and not Factory Refreshed. He proceeded to ask me where did I get the specs for my camera, if they were by the manual. I replied that they were. He said that the info on the manual was outdated because those lenses were reported to have many problems with "vignetting and distortion". He said he had a better lenses without those problems, and asked me to type in two separate parts numbers on the search box on the NWV website... #2058 Crystal Vision Limited Edition High Definition 58mm 0.5x Pro Wide Lens W/ Macro and #5528 Ultra Compact High Definition Professional Titanium Series 2.2x Super Telephoto Lens for 58mm - He said I'd be better off with these because they're used by professional photographers with great results, and that he could do better on price than what was shown on the website. Being new to photograpy, I was getting confused by Mark's fast talking an the terms he used. I told him that even with the discounts it was more than I had intented to spend. That I wanted to do a little research...at that point he said that I wouldn't find these lenses on the internet because they were specialized and used by professionals...made in Japan for professionals ..."mention them to a professional and they'll know about them" he told me, and if I wanted them right away he would call shipping dept to hold them for me. I told him I'd think about it and call him back. Well unfortunately I believed him. I wanted equipment I could use to improve my shots... lenses that I would be happy with the results... not "distortions or vegnetting" ruining my pictures...I fell for it. I called him back, I ordered. $514.49 instead of $232.85 I would have paid if I wasn't given the bait & switch by being manipulated by Mark. After I ordered, I started looking on the internet for info on the lenses Mark hyped and sure enough no info on the manufacturers, but I did find lots of forums on these lenses and they were horrible. I called Mark back within 1/2hr of my order to cancel. I told him I needed to cancel my order right away. I don't like what I'm finding out about them. Stop the order right away. Cancel Cancel Cancel. Too late he says, the orders been shipped. I can't believe it. I just ordered them. I need to cancel. Mark asks me why I want to cancel... I reply that I'm freaking out by the info I getting off the web about the lenses and NWV, it's not good. Well, to bad so sad..."If you don't want them, return them with a 15% restocking fee", thank you very much.  
 
I can tell you I am so disappointed by this man's attitude and lack of understanding...had he canceled my order, I would have given him my intended order instead and prehaps purchased other items as well. Now I'm sitting here writing this as a warning to others....Do not do business with this company.

Hi Ms Doran. Please test the lenses yourself before writing a review of them. That would be the right thing to do. Your claims of being confused and manipulated do not make sense. You were recommended products, you had the opportunity to do research, you did the research, you called back and placed the order.

Below is an email message I received from their review department along with a call. On the call they wanted to assure me that it was an honest mistake on the website and that they would change their website to show it out of stock. I looked almost 24 hours since they called me and it still says "Usually Ships In 1-2 Business Days".

From my experience this appears to be a "bait and switch".  
 
I was skeptical to begin with after reading reseller reviews but thought I would give them a chance. I ordered at night and the next morning they called and said the Canon CG-800 charger is on back order even though I looked again on their website and it says "Stock: Usually Ships In 1-2 Business Days".  
 
They said that they had another charger to sell me for the same price but it wasn't a Canon. I declined and asked for a refund to my Paypal account.  
 
Off to Newegg.com to purchase it for a few dollars more.

I am so gullible! They offer a Sony flash at a good price, and then after ordering, I'm notified that it is unavailable, but they can give me a "great" price on a Vivitar flash, even stating that it is "better" than the Sony. Well, after receiving it, not only does it NOT do what the salesman claimed, but I paid twice as much for it than anyone else has it on line. After complaining, they send me a rechargable battery set. Wow, that really made up for everything. I am so dumb...but I learned a lesson...and I will never fall for that again, nor will I ever shop with NWV Direct or recommend them again.

This company tries to scam you! Dont order or atleast dont fall into their trap! What they do is they offer really low proces on OEM products and then once you order them, they call you the next day saying it is "backordered" and suggest an aftermarket product that is "comparable". DONT BUY FROM THEM IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUALITY PRODUCTS! Their website inventory isn't accurate and the sales men are pushy!

ordered a sony flash... instead of receiving flash, 'sal' called and tried to sell another cheap brand at an over inflated price. The store did not have any intention on selling the original sony. NWV uses the classic 'bait & switch' scam method. Do not buy from NWV Direct.

I cannot recommend this seller. I ordered two lens filters by highly regarded manufacturers. The next day I got that dreaded call to "check something on my order". I was informed that my B & W filter was on backorder and wouldn't be available for 4-6 weeks. Asked if I would like to get a higher quality multi-coated Crystal Optics filter for only $5.00 more, I agreed. When the filters came the Crystal Optics substitute turned out to be a Bower coated filter that sells for dirt cheap. For the other filter I had ordered a Crystal Optics but they sent me a Digital Concepts without even saying anything or getting my OK. So, neither filter was what I had originally ordered. I didn't think I ended up getting good values at all. On the brighter side, I learned a fairly inexpensive lesson about checking a seller out here first. Others have written about this seller's "bait and switch". Had I read about it first I wouldn't have ordered from them. So, a valuable lesson learned at not too terrible a price.

Found the Canon charger for my camera battery on there website for about 10 dollars less than NewEgg.com so I figured what the hell I'll give it a try and just as I thought they would, they tried to get me to change the order to another charger after telling me the Canon charger is on back-order for 4 weeks. I just checked there website and it doesn't even mention back-order there.

Yup, it's a bait and switch scam! Don't try to buy any a NIKON SB600 here, they do not have any in stock and will try to sell you a "better" flash for way too much money. I was mentally prepared for this to happen when I placed my order because I read other bad reviews about NWV Direct, but I figured I would give it a shot anyways. I placed my order last night and got a call from them this morning, and from that point on my experience was the same as many others I have read about. The man I talked to told me my item was backordered so I said just cancel it, and then he said that he had an even better flash for me and I said no thank you, cancel my order, which they did. My advice is if you must try to buy something from NWV Direct, DO NOT switch your item if they tell you your item is backordered, CANCEL YOUR ORDER IMMEDIATELY. They will try to scam you.

NOT TO BE TRUSTED! This is a BAIT/SWITCH scam.  
I ordered a name brand (Olympus)charger and received a cheap non-name brand item (CTA Mini Battery Charger)for 10x the price that same items costs on Amazon!  
Look it up - the CTA Mini Battery Charger costs from $4-$16 on all other websites.  
Imagine getting it for $59 when your ordered an Olympus brand charger? I was mortified but that was nothing compared to how their customer service people treated me. RUDE is an understatement!  
AVOID NEW WORLD VIDEO!

I ordered three items that were pretty simple: camera cases, protecting film, and a new canon charger. They called the next day saying they were unable to get the charger I ordered...I wanted the exact charger that came with my camera...they convinced me to get what they said was a more expensive charger (it also woked in a car, Europe, and was faster) but would give me it for the same price as the Canon. They also said it was a Canon charger. I was a little disappointed that the charger was not made by Canon...but for the price, and for what it is, it works just fine and is more versitle. I was happy with the prices, the service, and have no problems with the products. I would use them again.

Lowest price for a flash I was looking for via Google Shopping. Got a call four days later that the product was on back order from the manufactor. Estimated time was 4-6 weeks. Then they tried to sell me on an inferior DIGITAL CONCEPTS flash. Had no interest in that companies products. The only thing that leaves me happy = They actually called me me and all this didn't happen via email.  
 
**UPDATE**  
Within 10 minutues of writing my review, the company called me AGAIN to see what they could do to change my mind and make it a better review.  
I think thye are trying REALLY hard to pad thier rating! AVOID THIS RESELLER!

THIS COMPANY HAS NO CODE OF ETHICS & is only out to find a way to trap a customer into a purchase so they can make a buck. I found a Canon 430EX Speedlite flash on their site for $120 less than Best Buy. SHAME ON ME for thinking this advertisement was true. As soon as I placed the order, I received a phone call & was informed the flash is backordered for 4-6 weeks. I was immediately offered a Digital Concepts flash 008952AF/CAN that has additional features the Canon does not have and they so nicely (sarcasm) offered it to me for a discounted price. Sal told me he has been in photography for many years & this flash is of the same quality as the Canon 430EX. He also stated, and I quote, "Between you and me, Canon manufactures this ‘Digital Concepts’ flash but will not admit to it...' After I contact Canon, we will see what they have to say... Anyway, I agreed to try the one he offered since it was of the same specs and QUALITY. Before I even received the flash, I realized I did not want to use anything other than a Canon flash on my Canon camera. When I received the flash, it clearly was not of the same quality. I requested an RMA immediately. I explained that I wish to only use a Canon flash on my Canon Camera and I would wait for the backordered product. No one contacted me for 5 days. I called repeatedly and was informed that Amanda, the lead supervisor, was probably working on getting me the RMA so I should be patient. I called back in two days and was told Amanda is on maternity leave. The LACK of CUSTOMER SERVICE and snide comments were very unprofessional. After fighting for three days, I finally received the RMA. When I received the credit, it was minus 15% restocking fee. Why should I pay a restocking fee when the replacement flash I was offered in place of the Canon WAS NOT OF THE SAME QUALITY as they stated to me repeatedly on the phone--even if it did have one more feature than the Canon. It was not in a sealed package and appeared to be a child's toy flash. I told them I just want the Canon 430EX flash I originally ordered. They didn’t care that I was willing to wait for the backordered Canon 430EX. They still charged me 15% restocking fee. What does that tell you? Doesn’t sound like they even have the Canon 430EX and I was never going to receive one from this company. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THIS SITE.

Bait and switch alert!! I ordered a canon camera battery charger (CB-2LV). The page said it was in stock (and it still does). I get a call the next day saying that the item is on backorder. The rep then tries to sell me another more expensive 'no-name' charger she claims is better because it charges faster. I say just cancel my order but she insists she can lower the price, puts me on hold and comes back with another price that is still more expensive. What a joke! They obviously never had the item in stock and just listed it at such a low price in order to 'Bait and Switch.' Do not shop here!
