I believe that this order was cancelled because of their failure to deliver -- or even process the order -- in a implied and promised manner. I ordered a camera from with expedited delivery charges because I needed it prior to a planned trip to an event. When I checked online to see the status of the order on the expected and missed later day of delivery I was surprised to see that it had not shipped and was under "managers review". I called to find out that Butterfly had, without warning to me, closed for two days. (Two competitors clearly noted on their order sites that they would be closing for holidays).  
Today I found that the order was still in review and "might" ship as early as Monday of next week and scheduled to arrive at the earliest of Wednesday, the day of my departure.  
 
This is not the expedited service I expected and agreed to pay extra for.  
 
Had I been able to talk to a supervisor at this time, the angst might have been mitigated but I was told that the supervisor was on the phone and that I COULD NOT HOLD for the supervisor because, since they had been closed two days, she was too busy.  
 
On one level, they had a good price, but I am more than willing to pay a bit extra for good service. Probably the most upsetting part of the entire experience is that not only was a supervisor not going to be available until, maybe, the end of the day, when I asked to speak with someone in the company's management, I was told that no one would be available.  
 
I like shopping online, but when the system fails, it really fails. To find that after an entire business week that an item requested for express shipping, at an additional price, was not even scheduled to ship until the next business week is unacceptable.  
 
That was last week. Earlier today I was contacted by Steven in Butterfly's customer service department. Since I had ordered the camera I wanted from another source, he offered to make my situation better by providing me with an extended USA warranty and a sincere promise of concern and caring. I feel that he took it uypon himself to make sure that I was happy with the result and that I would consider using Butterfly in the future.  
 
All businesses have problems in taking care of a variety of customer needs. It is the top companies that go out of their way to see that a problem is solved. I feel that Butterfly is one of those companies and, I feel better about using them in the future than I would have if no problem had occured.

I ordered a Canon Vixia HF200 on April 9, 2009. April 10 is good Friday holiday and the online store was closed. On Sunday April 12, 2009, I did receive a call from butterflyphoto and he tried to sell me extra battery, SD card and travel case. I said no to everything, of course. They did ship it out on Monday April 13, 2009. I received the camcorder on April 15, 2009, which is really fast consider they are shipping from NY to Texas. The camcorder come in okay. butterflyphoto was the first online store to drop $50 from $749.99 MSRP. I recommend this store.

I have to say I was skeptical after reading some mixed reviews but I went ahead and ordered anyway. Item is a Canon 50d w/28-135 lens. Everything came as promised. Ordered 3/18 received 3/24. Make sure you call them back when they call or your order won't get shipped. I haven't had to do that for any other retailers. They of course tried to sell some accessories, but didn't give me any grief when I declined. Called back customer service with a couple of questions and got prompt courteous service.  
 
I don't think you can ask for better.

My camera purchase at Butterflyphoto was a pleasant and efficient experience, thanks to the help of Steven Clendenny. Steven was friendly, knowledgeable and answered my many questions about the Sony A200 with 75-300mm Lens Package which I ultimately purchased. I got a really great price - best I could find. Warranty and a couple of filters were also purchased at equally great prices. Steven did a great job. I'm sure that I will recommend him an Butterflyphoto to friends looking for camera equipment. BF

on the recommendation of my close friend i ordered 2 samsung 52" ln52a650a1fxza lcd tv's from steve clendennyat butterfly photo 1-800-339-9960x204. he was extemely helpful, professional and thorough. he beat everybody else's price by roughly $500.00 per tv. i paid $2250 per tv which included the extended 3yr warranty the tax and delivery, he even threw in 2 sets of hdmi cables. the tv's came a couple of days after i oredered them and the picture looks even better in my house than when i saw it in the store. next up hd dvd player, home theater system and the Wii. so i'm goin back to my man steve @ butterfly who cut thru the b.s. and gave me th e best products and services totally hassel-free.

First time order from this store and find it is excellent service. I order a Sony camcorder on Sunday 3/22/2009 with 3 days delivery, on Tuesday 3/24/2009 I got my camcorder. Since the order was on Sunday and accepted on Monday, arrived on Tuesday, it really like overnight delivery. I am very happy with this store.

Purchased a Pioneer KURO 111FD-50 with additional 3 year in home warranty from Steve Clendenny at Butterfly 800-339-9960 x 204. Steve was a great help in making sure the set shipped immediately and arrived by a very important deadline, really went the extra mile and followed up with a call to check on status. Excellent service and excellent price on the TV, extended service, and shipping. Will definitely deal with Steve and Butterfly again!!

Butterfly Photo had the best price for a Nikon D300, including a Nikon USA warranty. Steve, from Sales, called me to confirm the order, and was very respectful when I told him that I didn't need any accessories. The camera arrived the very next day after I spoke with Steve, and was as advertised. I will definitely work with Butterfly Photo again in the future!

I called in to place my order for a 52-inch Sony Bravia LCD TV and spoke with Steven who explained that by spending an extra $120 I could get "threshold delivery" service. This sounded like a good idea to me since the TV weighs about 100 pounds. Steven also said the service would include "expedited delivery" and be at my house in "3 days." Steven went on to explain that by purchasing the 3 year extended warranty for $300 that the expedited shipping/threshold delivery would be included. This all sounded like a good idea and it would have been if it had been true. After placing my order I followed up with Steven three days later to find out that the TV was drop shipping from another location and he couldn't guarantee the delivery time but he would get back to me. I waited the next day until about 5PM before calling him again. He finally had the shipping information and now it was scheduled for Monday of the following week, not by the end of the week as he had orginally promised. The delivery truck finally showed up today (Tuesday, March 3 - would have been here yesterday but we had snow) and the driver asked for my help to bring it inside. There is nothing on the Bill of Lading that indicates "threshold delivery" or any such thing. If I had left my wife to help the driver it would still be sitting in the street. Also, I don't know where they drop shipped from, but the box is coated in dirt to the point that the driver admitted it looked very dirtry. My recommendation would be to get everything in writing from this seller or any seller. Furthermore, spend the extra money and purchase large items like this from a local retailer. These people are just plain dishonest and misleading and in the end its not worth the money that you save.

I called Sunday to place a last minute camcorder order with overnight shipping. The sales person was very upfront, saying it would be very difficult to get it shipped by Monday. I called customer service Monday morning and the extremely helpful lady got in touch with the shipping manager and arranged expedited drop shipping. The camcorder shipped Monday afternoon and was delivered today (Tuesday). The price was the lowest offered by a reputable seller and the quality of customer service was what all sellers should emulate. I definitely will be doing business with this company again.

Today I had the distinct pleasure of first getting information, then calling back to place an order for a high-end DSLR with Steven at ButterflyPhoto in NJ. No pressure, no games, just good information, pleasant conversation and a sales rep doing what he could to make the sale. He answered every question fully, (example - the camera will ship from the OEM warehouse in California before the weekend, probably on Friday). I had talked to other well-known bona fide on-line resellers. They were OK. Dealing with Butterfly was in a completely different league; it was far and away the best telephone sales transaction I have ever participated in. I would recommend Butterfly, and Steven in particular without reservation. I would suggest you at least talk to them before finalizing a deal anywhere else. Their pricing, knowledge, and courtesy are unparalleled.  
Update: May camera, a Nikon D700, arrived on Friday 2/27via UPS, several days before I expected it. I had ordered it a 5PM on 2/23. UPS auto-dialed my home phone the day delivery to advise they were delivering a package that required signature. I am delighted to say that everything about this transaction went absolutely perfectly.... definitely the best I have ever experienced. I would recommend without hesitation using ButterflyPhoto and Steven Clendenny (tel 1-800-339-9960, X024). Steven actually has a personal voice mail message so he can be reached if he's not at his desk! I haven't seen that elsewhere on-line. I ordered the camera at 5PM on Monday; it was delivered to me by UPS at 4PM on Friday of the same week.

I purchased a Canon EOS 40D SLR Digital Camera Kit W/ 28-135 IS Lens from Butterfly Photo. They have EXCELLENT Customer Service (SteveC @ x204) and a very detailed and easy to navigate website. I am very happy with their service and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.  
 
Also, this is a great product at a great price. Steven was very helpful with his suggestions. I would highly recommend him for his excellent service, and I will most certainly do business with Butterfly Photo again in the future.

I am a first time user of butterfly photo. We are located in illinois, just outside of Chicago. I found the prices to be excellent for the model of camera we bought. We ordered by phone and our sales person Steven at 800-339-9960 x 204 was very helpful and steered me in the right direction for what type of memory card to purchase. I found Steven to be extremely helpful, and he catered to every question I had. Again it was an extremely pleasant experience.
