Purchased Camcorder recently and received it on time and the price was better than most of the other places. I went ahead and purchased the item from BF photos after seeing the positive ratings here even though the price was little more than the lowest price.  
 
I have to agree with the previous poster though. Couple of previous orders got cancelled due to my Credit Card Issue. The customer service reps(Not all) were not so friendly while explaining the reason why my order got cancelled. The reason for cancellation automated e-mail said that the order got cancelled upon my request which was misleading. Initially thought that the product was not in stock but eventually the last rep told me that the paypal rejected the order as it could not process my cc payment.

Rude lady at Billing department. Called today to check the status of my refund on cancelled order of my HDTV (because it was holding lot of my credit in credit card), lady was very rude and she did not even explain whats going on. Without explaining she transfered my call to someone in customer service, where new agent explained me whats going on.  
Also when My HDTV arrived(from previous order) it was broken. I can understand it can happen during transportation but atleast you should have good customer service. And we are buying goods worth thousands of dollars.

The package my headphones were to be delivered in, mysteriously dissapeared, although claimed delivered by USPS, but have no fear, Butterflyphoto was here. I purchased through Amazon.com and Butterflyphoto contatcted me directly within 3 hours to tell me the good news that a replacement pair was on its way.

This was the second large $ order I placed with Butterfly photo in the past few months. I first ordered a D700 body with a 24-70mm 2.8 nikon lens. Item took weeks to ship, after many phone calls I was able to get them to finally ship the item. Thinking it was an honest mistake and they seem like a good enough company I placed my second order with them for a nikon 70-200mm lens and after waiting for THREE WEEKS!!! I called to find out what was wrong and they told me this lens was "out of stock" and when I looked on their website it was STILL listed in stock just as it was the day I bought it, only difference was the price has gone up... Little fishy. Long story short, after three more phone calls and they finally got the item shipped, but they sent it out 7-10 day ups when I TOLD THEM I NEED IT THIS WEEK! Just seems like these people could care less about their customers.... Oh, and I was promised phone calls and emails multiple times and never got one of either.... great customer service.... NOT

Steve,the "magic man" provided me excellent phone service when I ordered a Nikon camera today. I am taking this opportunity to write to regarding my gratitude for that service and hope that this note will be shared with the folks with whom you work at ButterflyPhoto.  
 
To Steve at Butterfly: You are rare, indeed! I order lots of stuff, have numerous calls by phone with people, and have not found someone as knowledgable, personable, witty and responsive as you. In this day and age, not only are you unusual...you are certainly "magical" as well. You went out of your way to answer my questions. You took your time with me and treated me as a long lost friend, rather than a customer. I felt as if you were putting myself in your shoes and responding with the TLC you would have provided yourself. I felt as if I were a person, not an anonymous individual with whom you'd never deal again and therefore not really care.  
 
You were interested in what I had to say, not appearing to be bored with the banter while waiting to process the order. In other words, I basically felt like I was a long term customer in my home town with a friend and business with whom I enjoyed a relationship of trust.  
 
Would I buy from Butterfly Photo again? There is no question: ABSOLUTELY!! However, I would ask for your line and wait, if necessary, until you were available. Your company, in my opinion, offers excellent price, prompt response and excellent service, if I were to judge it on the basis of my phone contact with you today!  
 
Many thanks for renewing my faith in the service nature of phone ordering. You are indeed on your way to becoming the superman of sales, if you haven't reached that lofty echelon already.

Ordered a Panasonic 32 in tv because of the price and free shipping. I made my first call a few days later because my order seemed to be stuck in what they call(managers review)and was told it would ship within two days. Waited seven more days, called, said they would call me back and didn't. Called the next day and they said they would have a tracking # for me by 5 o clock, They didn't. Called to cancel the order 2 days later and they finally had a tracking # for me. My tv finally arrived and in good shape which made me happy because this place would be a nightmare if you had a problem. What really irked me was they charged my credit card 10 days before they shipped the tv. With the economy in bad shape I am sure that someone else would appreciate the business more than these guys. After all was said and done I needed a shower to erase this purchase from my memory.  
 
 
After I wrote the above review I was contacted by their customer service representative Steven. He was concerned about my experience and the negative review I had left and wanted to know what could be done to change my opinion. He offered a 3 yr extended warranty or 30.00 refund on my purchase. While I appreciated the offer I was concerned that it would feel like I was being bought off so I gave it a day to think about it and told him that if after he reads this and still wants to do something to go ahead and send me the warranty. I've read many of their reviews and they seem to be getting better since Steve has started to be involved but as I explained it would be much easier to give the customer service up front instead of trying to clean it up after the fact. I order a lot of stuff online and I like it when the company ships fast (if its in stock) and keeps me informed so I don't even have to make a phone call. Sometimes things happen that are beyond the control of the company and all I need is a little info to keep my patience. If you want to place an order I would be sure to talk to Steven (800-339-9960 x204) and bypass the rest. By the way, the tv arrived in great shape, was in a factory sealed box and all was ok on that end.

Ordered the the Canon Powershot SX1 IS and nothing else. I monitored the invoice status and noticed it had a processing error. I waited for the call or email thinking a sales person would attempt to sell me additional equipment. The email stated it was a billing problem with my credit card. I called the credit card company and security said they were waiting for Butterfly to resubmit the charge as I had authorized the charge after the first submission. I called Butterfly billing department and informed of this and she imediately submitted the charge and was approved. She then said she would send the order on for shipment. The order shipped the same day. I received the camera and it was new in the box with all items as advertised. Great experience!

Butterfly Photo is not just for photo equipment. We ordered a Weber Summit Grill for the best price on the Internet. Ordered it on a Friday with no shipping cost and was told it would be 8 to 10 days, which we thought would be okay, even though we wanted it faster. We tracked it online and it left New Jersey the day we placed the order, was in Ohio two days later and in Chicago on Monday. The delivery service called to schedule delivery and we had it delivered on Tuesday. That is only 4 days after ordering it with an expected 8-10 day delivery. My hats off to Justin, who was pleasant on the phone and got the order correct and on its way in record time. Also, thanks to everyone else in shipping this order and delivering it to a family that can't wait to use it and will use it for years. I would order from Butterfly Photo again and tell all my friends that it's "one of the best". Thanks

Promise is a promise. When you decided to purchase your new electronics online, you certainly expected great price with extraordinary purchase experience. When I was ordering my new Nikon D300 camera, I called three top rated companies and decided to purchase through Steve C at ButterflyPhoto (800-339-9960 ext. 204). This was a very pleasant buy experience that Steve did greatly job. The shipment was quick, however I found it was not the exactly product I wanted. I called Steve the second day, he investigated and asked return the camera for change. I learned the Butterfly Photo ran out of inventory that they have to coordinate with their business partner for a new body. I mentioned we will have vocation soon and would like to have the camera as soon as possible, Steve promised he will try his best to have the camera on the day I expected. I appreciate he worked very close with his colleague JD that make all magic happened. Guess what! They shipped me the right product with overnight carrier! Thank you Steve and JD so much for the great job.

I ordered a Panasonic Lumix TS1 in orange, because they had it below retail and supposedly in stock. Turns out they had sold out of the orange version, but the website still has it listed "in stock." I received a call the next afternoon informing me that it was not in stock and if I wanted the green or silver version. I really did want the orange, so I asked for free shipping (I paid for 2nd day air). I was given $10 off shipping and was told it would ship immediately. Fair enough, so I settled for green. Five minutes after I was off the phone I received a tracking number. Pretty good service. I was also told they only update their stocks once a day. Good customer service, except they need to invest in real-time inventory levels.

I ordered Samsung LN46B750 46" 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV LN46B750U1FXZA on June 01, 2009 in the evening online.  
 
I got a phone call in the morning on June 2, 2009 from Victor trying to sell me some additional things (extended warranty, HDMI cables, expedited shipping[instead of free 7-10 business days]). I rejected all offers and although the sales rep sounded disappointed, the whole conversation lasted a couple minutes. The sales rep tried to tell me that expedited shipping would assure less travel of the item and less chance of damage although that didnt make sense as it ships from the same warehouse and item's damage-free delivery should be guaranteed regardless.  
 
After calling on June 04, 2009 I found out it was shipping that day. I am not sure if my call sped things up or not but I was pleasantly surprised.  
 
I got an email/call from Manna Distribution Services regarding scheduling a delivery. I set up the delivery on June 09, 2009 12-4pm(earliest was 8am-12 pm). Got a call at around 11:10 am saying they were at my house which surprised me a bit as the message sounded as though they were about to leave.  
 
I got my tv today and inspected both the box and the contents. Everything appeared to be damage free. I connected my tv to cable and it worked fine.  
 
I am overall very happy with my purchase. The same tv at Best Buy was 2600+$ + 10% tax + S&H vs 1740$ at ButterFlyPhoto.com . The same tv was over 2000$ on Amazon.

I ordered a Nikon D90 from this store, after searching and reading reviews for weeks. The price was lower than most other big name stores. But everything turn out great. I did exactly as they said in their website, noticing the bank since my shipping address is different from originall billing address, and I called them to confirm that. Then my order was processed right after with "Manual verification" status. I received my camera just 1 day after. No phone call hassel, no trying to sell overpriced accessories.  
I like to thank Butterflyphoto for a good service and give you another star.

I ordered a Canon Powershot SX10IS from Butterfly earlier this month as a graduation present for my daughter to use on an upcoming trip to Seattle. I ordered the camera on 5/2, but my daughter did not open it until she returned home from college last week, about 20 days later. The camera did not work, so I called Butterfly to make an exchange. The customer service rep explained that they have a 14 day return policy and, therefore, could not exchange the camera. I was very unhappy that I was left with a broken camera and had to go through Canon to get the camera fixed, so I wrote an email to the company to express my frustration. To my surprise, about an hour after sending my email, a supervisor at Butterfly called me and explained the reason for their 14 day policy, and asked what he could do to make things better. While he could not replace the camera, he did offer a free extended warranty option on the new camera, and apologized for the inconvenience of having to deal with the manufacturer. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the phone call, apology and offer, and it certainly changed my impression of Butterfly's customer service. I would purchase from them again.
