The price for my Nikon D700 was excellent. I was a little leery reading the reviews but decided to go for it. Ordering was easy. I paid for overnight shipping($56) called the day after placing the order to see when it would ship. Very nice at first. Then tried to sell me a way over-priced battery. I said no thanks I have 4 of them. I'm good. Well he pushed a little more and then got rude. After turning down the warranty he hung up on me. Customer service sucks big time. BUT camera shipped and arrived next day.
This company also trades under the names: dbuys.com, ibuydigital.com, centraldigital.com, ibuyplasma.com, realdealshop.com.
I found DigitalMegastore.com via Google Shopping while searching for a Yamaha HTR-6260 Receiver. The price was good and shipping was free.
Their sales page for the receiver ( http://www.digitalmegastore.com/Product/?11368142 ) said it was in stock and would ship within 1-2 business days. It also said "Condition: Brand New, USA Warranty".
I placed the order for the receiver on 11/27/2009. On 11/29/2009, I received a voicemail asking me to call about my order. When I called I spoke to Kevin. He said that since they were not an authorized Yamaha dealer and I also needed to buy an extended warranty from them. He then tried to sell me accessories. At the end of the conversation, he said my receiver would be sent straight out to me.
It has now been 10 days since I placed the order. The website said there was no order status and no shipping status for my order. I tried e-mailing them, but only received a reply saying to call them on the phone. I called and found out they never had the item in stock and are not expecting it until tomorrow (though I am skeptical if this could even be believed). Needless to say, I have canceled the order.
Last night, I did another search on the address that DigitalMegastore.com gives on it's "contact us" page. I found that Dbuys.com also trades from the same address and there were many negative reviews.
When I called today to inquire about my order status, I asked the CSR if they also traded under the name Dbuys.com, but she flatly denied it. She said there are lots of other companies that use the same warehouse.
This company is very dishonest. Do not deal with them!
You might be tempted by their prices, but their lies about in-stock & included warranties, shipping delays and upselling tactics are not worth the trouble.
Trusted Nextag when they posted DigitalMegastore as a 5 star "Trusted Reseller" and got scammed by DigitalMegastore. When I tried to return a defective camera, they gave me a different store name (AMDV) and the address was for a private house, not even a business address (1722 E 28th St. Brooklyn NY 1129.)
Wondering why they gave me a different name and address for the return, I tried to call the phone numbers for AMDV and always got a busy signal. Started to smell like a scam and when I went back to Nextag to double check this reseller, they were posting that "this reseller (digitalmegastore) is no longer active."
Obviously Nextag cannot be trusted either as they do not screen their "trusted sellers" very well.
I would normally never buy from a place like digitalmegastore and went totally off of Nextag's recommendation. Obviously they cannot be trusted either.

I ordered a Sony HD camcorder from them on a Monday. Tuesday I had to be out of town. They phoned and they left a message for me saying I had to phone them before they could "Process" my order. This is usually because the dealer wants to sell you something you didn't order. It is also often a sign of an outfit that operates with no stock, one that does not order your stuff until you order it.
They didn't try to sell me anything, and said I would get the camcorder Monday.
When my VISA card was not charged, I phoned again Thursday. They asked me if I really needed it on Monday. Told them yes. They charged me $19.95 for shipping, and it did come on Monday.
Since I didn't trust them, I took a video of the box being opened, however, the contents were exactly what I had ordered.
Their physical address is: 2057 East 22nd St, Suite 3B, Brooklyn NY, 11229. It would be interesting if someone would go to that address and see if there is anything more than a bank of phones there.
They are just too scary. I will not order from them again.
Even though I placed my order the night before (so it could ship the next day), I got the email saying the order had been received, and would take 1-2 days for processing... unless I wanted to call and "verify my order" to expedite the process. When you call they just hit you with dont you need accessories? Warranties? And they tell you that camera battery life isnt so hot.. so dont you need the extended battery? The customer service people are RUDE. And even after verifying my order, they still would not ship it out same day, even though its not even 12 noon EST. And calling back to talk to customer service? They wont even answer. You wait on hold for 5 min at a time, then they eventually hang up on you. You want sales? They of course pick right up, after only one ring. I had to call sales TWICE to get my order canceled. First time they transferred me to some guy's voicemail. I cancelled my order and will never buy here again. DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THIS MERCHANT!!
Ordered a camera online. They promptly charged my card, then called trying to talk me into buying other accessories. Pesky, hard sell, that wouldn't let up. Initially, they said that they just needed to confirm the order, but it was obviously an excuse to up-sell.
Here's the lowdown:
They tell the goods will be shipped tomorrow, which should arrive in 1 day because I am not far from them.
Six days later, I call. They tell me UPS returned it back to them, even though according to ups.com, they never received a package. They say it has been re-shipped.
4 days later, I call again. They say that the order should arrive in two days, even though UPS only takes one. Two days later, no package.
Either they're completely disorganized, or somebody's lying. Either case, I disputed the charge on my card, and will cancel the order on Monday.
Do not buy from this place! They are scam artists! They sold me an extended warranty on a projector for $299 and the warranty was worthless. When I tried to use the warranty the warranty company had disappeared. I called Digital Megastore to get a refund and they gave me the runaround for the 2 weeks telling me everything and anything to get me off the phone. Do not buy from this company! They stole my $299 and refuse to give it back.
After researching prices for a particular bluray player, I somewhat reluctantly ordered from Digital Media Store. The reluctance came from some poor reviews here as well as being directed here by a competitor who would not match their pricing. However, after trying to get OneCall to match their price (where I've bought thousands of dollars of A/V equip previously) I chose to use Digital Media Store since their price was about $100 less on a relatively inexpensive and simple item. Turned out to be a fine choice as the unit arrived in just a few days, using free ground shipping and was in fine shape and currently being enjoyed in the home theater.
Now, I do believe that this store lacks in customer service as I tried a couple of times to reach someone via the "customer service" line only to hang up after long waits. I did then easily reach someone for "sales" who was able to answer my questions about my online order I had placed. So it gives the sense that post order service is pretty non existent.
Still, for simple orders where price is the main objective my experience was fine and I'd use them again for the same type of purchase.
I usually don’t comment on purchases that I’ve made, but my recent experience warrants a few comments. Originally, I ordered the Panasonic PT-AE3000U projector from Digital Megastore. After several weeks of frustrating calls to their customer service department, I cancelled the order and decided to purchase the projector from Visual Apex. It was the best decision I've every made. Visual Apex delivered the projector to me in a very timely manner. 5-6 days from when I placed the order. There website provided very accurate product information, especially when it came to item availability. Visual Apex charged my credit card after sending me valid confirmation that the projector shipped, which was something I had to fight Digital Megastore on for charging me on something that they never shipped. My projector arrived in excellent condition.
I am very pleased I purchased from Visual Apex. I will definitely look towards Visual Apex for any future purchases I might have. The amateurs at Digital Megastore could learn something from Visual Apex's professionalism and excellent business practices.
When they sent an email to call them to verify the order the service dept. (Jim) was very short with me on the phone when I didn't want to purchace their extended warranty. Still waiting on the order. (I will give an update on the shipping, he said 3 weeks with the free shipping.)

Took 20 days to tell me they couldn't fulfill my order. This vendor is a joke. Don't let the great prices advertised fool you. Good prices mean nothing if they don't deliver.
WORST COMPANY!!!!!!!!! SHIPPED US A DEFECTIVE CAMERA!!!!!!!!! We ordered a Cannon EOS 5D MKII camera. They sent us a defective one!!!!! We ordered the body of the camera at a cost of $2,625.00. They threw a defective camera in a "kit" box (they removed the lens before sending it to us) and shipped it to us!!! We only ordered the body. We immediately called Cannon when we opened it and discovered that it would NOT work and it gave us an error message. We looked up Cannon's phone number online since there was not an American phone number listed for Cannon in the instruction book. Cannon told us that it would have to be repaired by a camera repair shop before it could be used!!! We also found out that they sent us the European model with European instructions and European phone numbers. We were told on the phone that we could get a full refund when we returned it. When we checked our credit card statement, we discovered that they deducted $262.00 from our credit that we were supposed to receive! When I called and asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred to the owner. He said that because we would not exchange the camera, they charged us a "re-stocking fee." I asked him, "Why would I want to do business again with a company who sent us a defective camera?" THEY MADE A COOL $262 BY SHIPPING US A BROKEN CAMERA!!!!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!! The owner is also VERY rude!!!!!!!!! We re-ordered a new camera from B & H Photo Video: www.bhphotovideo.com and the camera and ordering experience were both wonderful!!!

Ordered a Canon HFS-100, great price. Had bad experience with Camera Giants (like many other people). Digital Megastore did email to request I call in to confirm - they did a soft sell on additional battery but wasn't a pressure sell and friendly. After turning down battery order was processed. After a few days delay due to being out of stock - they shipped as promised and US product arrived in perfect condition. Overall a good buying experience.

I placed an order for a Yamaha RX-V663 for $349.00 on February 26th after reading positive reviews for this product. I then proceded to cancel via e-mail (following the link provided on the website to do so) this order approximately 10-12 hours later after belatedly (my fault) reading overwhelmingly negative reviews concerning this merchant.
I also discovered that they are not an authorized online Yamaha dealer, hence the generic extended warranty; Yamaha WILL NOT honor a warranty unless the product is purchased from an authorized online dealer...
Approximately 4-5 DAYS LATER I received a shipping notification e-mail which also indicated that I would also be charged an extended warranty, WHICH I DID NOT REQUEST. This was reflected on my bank statement in the amount of $398.99.
I contacted my "Account Manager" Alex, who immediately transferred me to "Customer Service", which, in my opinion, is nothing short of a joke; after remaining on "Hold" for 20 minutes (must be a tactic used to discourage complaints, returns, etc.), I concluded telephone contact was not the way to go.
I then contacted UPS, explained the situation to them, and informed them that I would be refusing delivery to avoid any return shipping charges. No problem there.
I sent e-mails to DigitalMegaStore almost daily (Tammy@digitalmegastore.com and Sara@digitalmegastore.com), keeping them informed of my intentions and repeatedly requesting a credit back to my bank account.
I also contacted the fraudulent transactions division of my bank to cancel my debit card as well as the Better Business Bureau (read their complaint history concerning this company as well, by the way). I was responsible for the transaction since I authorized it, so nothing could be resolved until the merchant received the merchandise back.
Anyway, I DID get the entire transation amount credited back to my account near the end of March, ALMOST THREE WEEKS after DigitalMegaStore received the Yamaha receiver.
DigitalMegaStore had almost $400.00 of my money needlessly tied up for almost a month due to them shipping an order 4-5 days AFTER I notified them to cancel it.
BEWARE OF DEALINGWITH THIS MERCHANT...be sure to check out ANY online merchants with resellerratings.com FIRST!!! I wish I had..
Here’s my 2 cents on Digital Mega Store, I think some customers get their products on time and some do not. I think the reason they offer free shipping is because it gives them more time to find your product if they do not have it in stock, free shipping is 7-10 business days which can come out to 2 full weeks. I was going to purchase a Yamaha RX-V863 from the Digital Mega Store and like most of these reviews say they had the best upfront cost. So, I called to find out why they were $250 cheaper than the normal retail cost of $899. One of the sales got on the phone and he said that the products they sell do not come with a factory warranty, but he could sell me an extended warranty over the phone for $79 or I could pay $100 over their website for the same warranty. I started to ask some technical questions about the receiver and he said he was not sure and wanted to know if I was going to buy the receiver at that moment. I said no, but I had a few more questions. At this point he started rushing me off the phone and said to call back when I was ready to buy. I thought this was a little rude and kind of pushy but I latter found out that this company is based out of New York and if anyone has been to New York you would know that this a normal way of talking for them. Regardless, there should have been a higher level of professionalism at Digital Mega Store. So, now I had to make a decision I could purchase this receiver from the Digital Mega Store $649 plus the extended warranty because this receiver cost too much money not to have warranty. So, now the cost the receiver went up to $749. I did a search on froogle.com on this receiver and some other web sites had pricing similar to that at the Digital Mega Store but they were not well known sites and I may be running the same type of operation as the Digital Mega Store. On my froogle search I also found this receiver on overstock.com for $752.94 this was total price including shipping and it came with a one year factory warranty. So, I bought the receiver at overstock.com, they were super professional, they shipped the receiver right away, and it came with a warranty. So, here is the bottom line if you feel you have no other option because of pricing and want to take a CHANCE on the Digital Mega Store or any other of the new websites, do not expect professional service, do no not expect a warranty, if you buy the extended warranty expect a hard time if you put in for any warranty work, and do not expect on time delivery, and if you do get any on these be happy that you did.
