Ok,
I decided to buy some more stuff from these folks and it looks like they are running well so far. I bought some random junk including a chromium figure (random, although to my disappointment I didn't get the one I wanted, but that's not TNJ's fault :P), a FFVII highwind model (by the way, it looks absolutely stunning), and a Rikku choker (which was backordered), to name a few. They were (except the choker) shipped to me in good time and I loved it. The highwind model was amazing. It was really worth the 80 dollars. So far, so good.
I also ordered from them once more, including: A light blue Nintendo DS, a little DS strap, a matching pouch, and a couple Metal Gear Solid soundtracks. They said that they are on the way to me right now, so I will anxiously await for this exciting order. If all goes well, I will plan to buy from them again by November or December.
Overall, they are doing really good for me. Communication is much better and Alex Le is so far, very nice guy. I will shop from these folks again. =D This review was modified by its author, ailehlia, on

I recently purchased Godzilla figures over $180.00 worth. Paid $20 in shipping 3-7 days I might add and also made 3 calls in total to verify the items (6) were all in stock and not on back order. I was assured they were and would ship promptly before the holiday. After not receiving an invoice or receipt except what I printed off the page, I called again. I explained I had not received my invoice and that my CC was charged. I was told the items were shipping the following day. Oh great I replied and hung up. I then wake to an email this morning telling me that 4 of the 6 shipped and that 2 are on back order and not expected until after the holiday. WHAT!!!!!!! your kidding me right? nope the did it yet again. (yes Im the fool who let them rip me off not once, not twice but 3 times now). I have dealt with having a good shipment and having a bad shipment on more occasions than I should admit to. but hey they do have the Godzilla figures my son collects. So I call and email telling them refund the amount for the 2 they didnt send so I can find them elsewhere. Still waiting on the response, but wanted you report that they are still claiming on there site that they have these 2 in stock yet Im getting emails about back orders. They are shady and I will never shop here again. What they have done is lose a good customer and force me to contact the BBB and consider a charge back on my card if I don't hear back within 24 hours :( Not a very nice company so check biz rate and they can direct you in the area of a decent reseller to consider. I for one was lucky enough to locate these same to items in MN saving myself $40.00 to boot.

On the quick side, I orederd 7 wall scrolls via 2-day UPS. I only recieved 6 of them and they sent it USPS and saved a ton of money they charged me. I am out a total of $25 and they will not even take my calls anymore. Please do not shop with them. This review was modified by its author, Fabierien, on

DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered 4 items, received one after 2 months, and have been fighting ever since to receive the products, and most recently a refund. They billed my credit card for the full amount but didn't deliver, and they don't respond to emails.

After reading all the other reviews I guess I'm in the club. I ordered Godzilla items from Toys N Joy right before xmas which & the items should have arrived by the holiday, since they charged me $16 for shipping & UPS 2nd day. They sent me an "Order Confirmation" which said "shipment pending payment confirmation", charged my card around Dec. 29th & never sent me anything. I got nothing but full voice mail boxes when I called. Finally Alex Le emailed & said he would look into my order. Its been 2 wks & I have yet to hear back from him. This company is awful!!!
I suggest everyone complain to the Better Business Bureau in Hawaii, like I did, and hopefully put pressure on the company to clean up their act. This review was modified by its author, Miriam Clifford, on

Ordered 7 Jan, no confirmation number on order email, paid for 3-7 day UPS shipping with tracking, still not received as of 21 Jan! Repeated calls to company gets "mailbox full" messages for ALL departments or a constantly busy signal.
Will contact Better Business Bureau.

I've visited Toy's N Joy's B&M shop in Hawaii while on vacation. I was in a rush so I quickly browsed the shop, when I discovered their online shop I was thrilled. I managed to find a game I had been looking for so I purchased it. Shortly after I placed my order I recieved a confirmation Email but since then I have not heard from them or recieved my game. Luckily I was never charged for the game.
This is poor business practice and very unprofessional.

I urge you NOT to buy from this store. It has been over 2 months and I have not recieved my item. My order was 'D-013: Devil Gigatron'. Lots and lots of emails, and this POS Alex kept giving me lies.
It is now January 2005, and I have just had enough. Legal action will be taken against this company if a full refund isn't given.

Last month I ordered the Sims 2 Special DVD edition from them.
They lied to me about my order and never gave the tracking number that I paid for. It took them over two weeks to ship my order. They only bothered responding to me after I informed them that I had contacted the Better Business Bureau. It was only after this that they agreed to refund my shipping cost. Then they shipped it by Global Priority mail instead of the Global Express mail that they were supposedly refunding me for.
I ordered the DVD version but when my package arrived, I was not incredibly surprised to discover that they had sent me the CD-ROM version instead.
Here is a copy of our correspondence:

I was just curious as to why my purchase has not yet
been processed.
I placed my order this past weekend and I still
haven't received a payment confirmation e-mail.
Sincerely,

This has been shipped.

Alex,
I have already inquired about the status of my order
that I made well over one week ago and you informed me
that it had already been shipped, but I have yet to
receive a tracking number.
I have noticed that my credit card has already been
charged.
I payed extra money for "Global Express" shipping and
I would really like to have the tracking number that I
paid for.
Their response:

Hello,
This order has been shipped.
My response:

To whomever is responsible,
I am extremely disappointed with the quality of your
customer service.
Almost 2 weeks ago I placed the order listed below
this message. I did not receive a prompt confirmation
for the order so I inquired about its status. I
received a response stating simply:
"This has been shipped."
I paid for Global Express shipping and was supposed to
be given a tracking number once the product was
shipped. I have since sent emails to the tracking
department, information, and sales.
So far I have received no reply.
I have placed an order with ToysnJoys in the past and
there were no problems. In fact I was completely
satisfied with my past experience. That is why I am
highly disappointed with the handling of this order.
I paid for Global Express shipping and that is
supposed to include a tracking number that I have yet
to receive. Because of this, and because I have not
received my order within the 3-9 days stated on your
webpage, I request reimbursement for the Global
Express shipping that I have been charged for.
Sincerely,
Their reply:

Hello,
I shipped your order this weekend.. I will ak my manager about a
shippiong discount
My response:

To: Alex Le
Subject: Better Business Bureau
I have filed a formal complaint to the Better Business
Bureau. I do not appreciate being lied to.
On September 16, you told me that my item had been
shipped.
Now you are saying it was shipped this past weekend,
which was about ten days AFTER you said you originally
shipped it.
Even though I have asked for a tracking number in
every e-mail I have sent you, you have ignored my
request even though you charged me for a tracking
number and speedy service.
Finally, you say that you have to ask your manager
about a discount. Either you are not signing your
real name to the correspondence (which is unethical)
or you are lying to me (even more unethical).
According to my research, Alex Le is the owner of Toys
n Joys and would not have to ask a manager for
anything.
As an American living in Japan, I often import the
American versions of games. I could have been a
lifelong customer, but I will no longer do business
with people who fraud me of my money.

Sir,
This is Alex Le , owner of Toys n Joys. First of all I am so sorry for
the delay in this order. I was out of town and had someone answer my
emails while I was away. This order did indeed ship and will arrive to
you by Monday. As far as the shipping, we will refund that back to you
due to the delay. That will post on your account within the next few
days. Your business is very valued here and appreciated. I assure you
that a delay like this will not occur again. As you can see, we do
offer
competitive prices on certain items and do have a few mistakes here and
there. I will make sure that we do our best to prevent a situation like
this from happening again.
Alex

Sir,
Your refund of $28.00 has been applied.
Sat, 2 Oct 2004 17:23:22 -1000
Your order was received, processed, and shipped out via United States Postal Service Global Priority Mail. Unfortunately, there is no tracking service for Global Priority, but your order is enroute to you. You can find your order/invoice number for future reference in the subject of this e-mail.

I ordered 2 godzilla figures from there web site. the site made no mention that the items were not is stock and on back order. I waited 2 weaks and several e-mails before 1 of my items finaly shiped. the second item never shiped. Every time I called they said item would ship in a couple days. I waited over a month, still nothing. They allways say item was backordered and will ship next day. After over a month and several weaks I told them to just refund my money. I dont recomend this company. They are not honest about what is in stock and give you the run around. when they finaly shiped first item there was no invoice or tracking number as they promised in there confirmation e-mail. Avoid ordering drom this company and save youre self the headache from dealing with them.

Went to website and it showed the Hori Soul Caliber II Gamecube stick was available for order. After seeing the shipping, I went to the address on the order (I live in Hawaii). I looked around the store and saw NO Hori Soul Caliber II Gamecube stick in the store, so I asked the guy behind the counter, who said they didn't have any ($69 +). I told him, your website says you do (@ $59 + $10 shipping)! The sale person said they didn't have any & if they did they would still charge me for the shipping (remember I am at their physical store on Waialae Ave!). The sales person said they would have to charge the shipping so "they wouldn't be taking a loss". I told the sales person the Hori stick sells for 3980 yen (around $40 something dollars) per Hori's japanese website (list price, not street price). The sales person vehemently denied the Hori retails in Japan at 3980 (though he did not mention the price they paid for it). The sales person was very arrogant, I left very disappointed.

Please don't buy from here. First of all they don't care about your satisfaction. They shipped a wrong model and they DID NOT ship my two items. I cannot get my money back. That "Alex Le" always says that it is on back-order or they will ship them soon. Don't trust them ever. If you are ordering outside of Hawaii, try other shops.

I placed a 1st order on 10/9/03 for 2 figures. Only one arrived 10/14 but was broken. I sent it back for a replacement. The 2nd AND 3rd replacements were also broken (different places). I realize things CAN get broken in transit but THREE times?? I gave up after that. I receive a lot of figures/items by mail and this has never happened. They refunded return shipping for one of the two shipments.
I emailed about the missing one 10/14 and was told by Alex Le that it would ship in 1 week. Emailed again 11/8 and was told 11/14 they may get stock in 1-2 wks. No word at all from them 11/14-1/3, when I emailed and asked that the second order be cancelled; refund was given quickly enough.
I will never purchase from them again.

Good doing business with. Although it did take alittle longer than usual to get here. And no invoice number. But they did give me a tracking number to track my shipment with.
