I too have had to deal with this company. I ordered several gifts for christmas and did not recieve any e-mails stating anything was shipped. So, I called them and that was when the excuses started. Some things were on back order (the site said their were in stock) which they never informed me of and were holding my order because of it. I told them to ship whatever they had and ship the rest as soon as it came in. Which I was told would be the following Friday. They shipped part of the order, I paid for FEDEX 2-day and they shipped it Priority mail. Then when I got the package it wasn't all of the same items they told me they were shipping. Yet again I had to call to find out what the deal was and why it was not shipped FedEx like I paid for. I was able to get them to refund the shipping difference and demanded they send the rest of the order. More excuses came and after 2-3 more phone calls I finally got 2 more of the items. This left 1 item still unshipped but yet they had already charged me for all of it. It has now been a month and after several e-mails (they never answered) and several phone calls I just found out that they refunded me for the last item and apparently never had any intention of shipping it. This is after I was promised 3 times it was going to be shipped out. The people were NEVER helpful and were always full of excuses. I have never dealt with such aggrivation with a company. I felt like I had to beg them to send me the items that I paid for! My suggestion is to NEVER, EVER buy from this company.

Ok so I found rare Transformers toys for my boyfriend on their website and since I had never shopped from their site before I decided to do alittle research before investing a large sum of money into a possible scam. I read alot of reviews and most were really negative. I became very apprehensive about purchasing anything from them since I saw horror story upon horror story. So I called them to make sure everything was kosher. I tried to cover all my bases by asking them if they had the toy in stock and what condition it was in, descriptions of the box and any other detail I could think of. I also told them I was in NY and wanted to know how long it would take to ship everything to me. Alex answered all my questions and totally put me at ease. The customer service was awesome. He told me to place the order online and he would process it right away and told me to call back the second I placed it. I called him back in a matter of 5 minutes and he processed it as I was on the phone with him. He told me I would receive a confirmation with a tracking number in about 15 minutes. About 15-20 minutes later he called me back just to make sure I received the email. He told me to expect the package on Monday. I ended up buying a rare transformer toy and a Nintendo ds bundle which has been sold out all over NY. I was still a little worried that I may not get my items before the holidays since that seemed to be a common theme in all the posts I had read. I really worried for no reason at all. I got everything on Monday just like he said which was exactly 6 days after I placed the order which I think isn't too bad since it was making a trip from Hawaii to NY. The Transformer toy was packed up really well so there was no way it would become damaged and the ds was placed in padded packaging. I had a great experience with them and my boyfriend and daughter will be very happy this Christmas. Honestly the best thing I did was talk directly to them and I was straight forward about everything. Even talking to their transformer expert was pleasant. I really can't complain at all about anything. Even the 6 hour time difference didn't matter. Everytime I called someone always picked up the phone to answer my questions. I would definitely use their site again. Another bonus was the transformer toy I bought is selling on ebay and other stores in NY for $100-$200 more than I paid for it. All in all I have no complaints about anything.

I sure wish I had looked at this site BEFORE placing an order with Toys 'n Joys. My experienced is listed below, as outlined in e-mails to Alex Le (note that I have not received a response). I'm going to contact the BBB as another reviewer has suggested.
------
Alex - I just received my order, and I was charged for THREE keychains, PLUS shipping. I only received TWO keychains, and I already paid shipping with the first order of THREE keychains, when I only received ONE in July. The service from your company has been terrible. Some examples:
Your system allowed me to order 3 keychains when you only had 1 in-stock, so my young sons thought they were getting their Pokeballs when in fact, you didn't have them.
Your system then confirmed that I would receive 2 keychains, when in fact you only had 1 to ship
I received 1 keychain in July.
Now, 4 months later, WITHOUT any notice or reconfirmation of my order, I received 2 more keychains (and in the meantime my kids have lost interest), and I was charged for 3 PLUS shipping, again.
I expect a refund on the shipping charge of $10 plus a refund on the $5.95 I was charged for the keychain I didn't receive. So, a total refund of $15.95. Promptly. If you had reconfirmed the order, I would have cancelled the whole thing, but I guess I'm stuck with the other 2.
Please confirm receipt of this message and let me know when to expect the refund. Sincerely - Martha

Subject: Fw: INV#719982 HAS BEEN SHIPPED! Thank you so much for your order!
Hello Alex - Since we have been waiting four months for this order and already paid one shipping charge, my expectation is that we will not be charged for shipping a second time, and that the only current charge is for the 2 Pikachu Pokeballs. Please confirm. You might want to implement a step in the backorder process where you reconfirm with customers that they still want the merchandise in situations where it has been such a long time. I'm not even sure my boys still are interested in having these, and in the meantime I had found some locally. But, the first I hear of the order is when it has been shipped. I realize you can't control the inventory, but the process could stand some tweaking. Thank you - Martha

This company is terrible and unprofessional, I ordered a pikachu ds lite but I quickly emailed to cancel it because I realized I will probably never get it and I saw it on ebay.com for the same price. They hardly respond to emails because I sent about 10, and I called twice and no one answered! They even charged my card when on the site they said that they don't charge until it's sent out. I called my card company and I have to wait a few days to file a fraud claim, but I will if no one contacts me about a refund or refuses a refund or the refund isn't issued at all, and I will contact the Better Business Bureau. This company is so unprofessional and have the worst customer service and they lie on their website!! It's like robbery, I would feel better giving my money to charity right now then to these people because I have a feeling a refund will be a huge hassle and I won't receive it soon. It was 310.95 so I'm very very upset!

I concur with the other commenters that you SHOULD NOT BUY from Toys-n-Joys.
Here's why:
1) Ordered my 13 year old son's Halloween costume on October 13, 2007 at 10:05am for his LAST Halloween as he's getting too big to trick-or-treat after this year
2) Hearing nothing on shipping status, I called AND emailed on October 22nd. Voicemail and autoresponder with Alex Le's phone number. I called his and he informed me verbally that, "It's shipped and you'll have it on Friday." (Which would have been October 26th).
3) Nothing arrives in Friday's mail so I call Saturday, get ahold of some guy at Toys-n-Joys and he tells me Alex Le will get back to me. He does not.
4) Call again on Monday, October 29th...now two days from Halloween and my son has been hammering on me for days about his costume. Alex Le tells me that "it's shipped from our supplier in California" and gives me a tracking number.
This tracking number indicates that it had NOT YET BEEN RECEIVED by the US Postal Service and ONLY THIS MORNING -- one day from Halloween -- does the USPS tracking web site show this: "Your item was processed and left our PASADENA, CA 91109 facility on October 29, 2007. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."
There is no way that this will be here on Halloween. We went out last night and bought another costumer for my son.
--------------------------------------
Are the folks at Toys-n-Joys incredibly incompetent, lying, scam artists or small, cheesy businesspeople that have no money and can't get stuff shipped? Doesn't matter if you DON'T BUY FROM THEM.
Any of you that have been similarly scammed, I suggest you do what I'm doing right now: write the Hawaii State Attorney General and let's get these scammers shut down.

I have sent numerous emails to Alex Le asking for the tracking number, even though it has not yet been nine days since i placed my order. After reading just a few of these reviews i believe my impatience was justified.
However, when I made the order I used paypal. And paypal sent me an email saying I had paid a "bobish2315@yahoo.com". This is obviously a personal email, and if they were trying to commit absolute fraud, they'd probably be using something that sounded more professional.
I suggest everyone use this email when trying to contact Mr. Le, until further notice.
That being said ... has anyone actually had any GOOD experiences with this company?

I ordered a Japanese PS2 and two games from ToysnJoys as a sort of joint Xmas present (people chipped in for the PS2 since I wanted it so badly), assuming that if I ordered at the beginning of December (December 5th, 2005, but this site won't accept a transaction that old), I should have it for Xmas. One of the games was a pre-order, but there was no text saying that the entire package had to wait for that game to be released. I assumed I'd have my system and one game, then get the other when it was released. My credit card was charged and I waited, patiently. Xmas came and went, and I started calling them at the end of the year, even on New Years Eve. I called them every day and e-mailed and each time I got a different answer - my box had been shipped DHL, we'll e-mail you a tracking number (except not, they never did), something was backordered (then why did you charge my credit card? that's fraud!), the order had never been received, etc. It went on. Finally, on January 20th I received an e-mail with a USPS Priority tracking number (what happened to the DHL?) and a couple days later my package arrived, minus one game which had indeed been backordered. The box was packed with garbage (like, empty Gatorade bottles and candy wrappers), the PS2 I'd paid more than a premium price for was used, not new, and then they had the gall to charge my credit card another $10 for shipping out of the US. I live in Detroit, Michigan. I asked for an explanation of that, but they never replied. My backordered game arrived the next month. I take the entire experience as a costly lesson in online shopping and now prefer to deal with the Hong Kong and Japanese importers I was originally wary of. I'll echo the sentiment of many other reviewers here - DO NOT SHOP WITH THESE PEOPLE.

For all of you negative people 1st of all you say it took about 3-5 weeks yes this is true. You should of called the store and asked if they had the actual item in stock and since they don't most of the time they have to track it down and order it. Now you can pay overnight and everything but that is when the actual item is ordered and shipped to toysnjoys which takes a while and then they have to ship it to you which your shipping takes place. 2nd of all if you had patience it's easy to wait a month for your item or you could just fly to Japan and buy it for yourself. Toysnjoys is doing it's best face it if you want the game so badly why don't you just go to Japan or just drop it if you can't wait like a grownup for a couple of weeks. 3rd of all you need the brains to acctually pick up the phone and call the store and varify and the person in charge of shipping is also a human being and has other matters to attend to. In conclusion have patience, Stop your whining unless you want to fly to Japan, and be understanding.

I originally went to their site because they offered the cheapest price for a preorder on an import from Japan; the "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops [Konamistyle Limited Premium Pack]." Seeing as they had the cheapest price, I called their storefront in Honolulu to verify it was not a mistake. One of the employees informed me that whatever price listed on their website is indeed the selling price. So, I placed an order for the item on 11/09/06 and awaited it's release [in Japan] of 12/22/06.
Dec 22nd rolled by and I expected that I'd receive my item some time close to that date, possibly a week after. Well, a week passed and I didn't receive any update or information regarding my order; nothing from a "being processed" or "awaiting stock." So I waited patiently, until approx the second week of Jan I called their store front inquiring if they had my item in stock. An employee told me that a stock my item "should be coming in soon." It wasn't until the following week, more than a month, that Toys N' Joys processed shipped my item on 01/18/07 via USPS Priority Mail. On 01/22/07 I received my item in the mail.
Upon opening the shipping box I discovered that my item had suffered extensive damage to its packaging. Several areas on the item's box were dented and two different spots had areas where the cardboard was peeled back. Wondering how this could have happened I looked at the shipping box to find that 1) they had packaged my item using two pages of crumpled newspaper and several crumpled Walmart plastic bags to act as cushioning and 2) the shipping box itself virtually had no damage done to it that had extensively been done to my item.
Seeing as how the situation didn't add up I called up Toys N' Joys to ask them how this could happen. The first time I called I was told by a female employee that the manager in charge of mail orders, who I'd later find out is named Alex, wasn't available, and was asked for my contact information and invoice number.
A couple of hours passed and after hearing no word I called Toys N' Joys again and was received by Alex, who stated that he had tried to reach me at the cell number I left yet there was no record of an incoming call. In any event I reapprised him of my situation and asked how could such a thing happen. He responded, that he had no idea. To which, I inquired if it'd be possible to exchange my item and whether a restocking fee would be charged. He assured me that I could exchange my product and that no restocking fee would be incurred but that I'd need to ship the item back to them to verify the damage, and I'm assuming its resale potential. I replied, to be helpful, that I could take photos of the item and shipping box and email them right away, but he said that was unnecessary. To be clear, I asked him that I just needed to ship the item back and addressed to him (they in no way included a return shipping label nor offered to pay for return shipping thereby making me pay once more for shipping) and I most likely would receive an exchange. He assured me of that and we concluded the phone conversation.
The same night I took pictures of the item and shipping box in the event I'd need to provide evidence in my case. Then, I repackaged the item and mailed it out the following day via USPS Priority Mail (Alex's request). The package eventually arrived to their storefront on 01/27/07. Wanting to be diligent, since I was already anxious of the situation and the way they handled my order in the first place, I called Toys N' Joys that day in hopes to confirm that Alex received the package and possibly how soon I'd receive an exchange and complete our transaction. It turns out that he wasn't in that day and wouldn't be until the upcoming Mon or Tues. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with this, however only he and (I found out) another employee are apparently the only two people that are in charge and can handle mail orders.
Eventually Monday (01/29) rolls around and I finally get in contact with Alex after calling in for a majority of the day. He assures me he received the package, is unsure how the item got damaged, and that he would issue me an exchange that'd ship the following day (Tues.) Thinking, I finaly made some headway I said "Ok" and awaited for my package to be shipped. Three days passed after I last called them (01/29/07), and I didn't receive any email confirmation on the status of my package. So, I called Toys N' Joys up again and was told by the other person in charge of mail orders that Alex was taking care of my case solely and had no idea what was going on. Finally, on 02/05/07 I received confirmation that my order shipped and it's arrival on 02/09/07. This time it came in good condition although they skimped on packaging materials, again.
Bottom line, AVOID THESE GUYS UNLESS YOU"RE REALLY DESPERATE.

I ordered 3 items for my son's Birthday in August. 2 items shipped & arrived after my son's Birhtday (his birthday is Sept. 6th). The 3rd item was back ordered. Today is December 5th, nearly 4 months after the order & the back ordered megaman figure still has not shipped. Of course they received payment at the time of the order back in August. I would never deal with this place again: even they claimed to have a wii or a PS3.

If you wish to make good use of your hard-earned cash, you would do best to cast it to the wind instead of making a purchase with Toys N Joys. I have been waiting for more than three months to receive a simple order for only two items. I paid immediately and waited patiently, but after an uncomfortable length of time passed without my being sent a shipping invoice or tracking number, I attempted to contact the sales department of TNJ to gently request some information on the status of my order. What followed was a nightmarish journey through a fetid swamp of dissastifaction where the cryptic and lacadaisical e-mail responses sent to me by TNJ were the tenuous and shifting stepping stones I was forced to use in navigating my way towards my goal of receiving the merchandise I paid for.
On three different occasions, I have been told that my order has been shipped. Each time I have been informed of this, a new e-mail has arrived from TNJ within a few days, stating that the order has been changed, claiming that the order is being re-shipped, or asking me to tell them once again just exactly what it was that I ordered.
If you order from Toys N Joys, be prepared to languish for months in a joyless state of complete toylessness. I am frowning at you, Toys N Joys!
UPDATE: My merchandise finally arrived, and the order was correct, but I am left with the impression that if I hadn't been relentless in pursing the matter, I would have received nothing in the end. Only do business with Toys N Joys if you have a lot of stamina and nerves of steel. This review was modified by its author, Ranshiin, on

There were some Final Fantasy figures that I wanted which I searched for and eventually found on the Toys N Joys website. Despite reading lots of bad reviews here I decided to take a risk and buy them, as it looked like a good store and I couldn't find the figures anywhere else. To my pleasant surprise I did get a short reply to the emails I sent and the figures were shipped to the UK very quickly. I received everything ordered within 2 weeks. Will certainly consider buying more merchandise from Toys N Joys.

An order was placed on my behalf at this website (Toys'n Joys), as they were the only website with the product I wanted in-stock. Despite the red flags that should've been raised, I took a risk and ordered it through them anyways out of desperation for the product in question. As I do not have on file the exact date the order was placed, I can only provide the date they finally sent an invoice, June 19th.
Just about the only positive thing I can say about them is that I did eventually recieve my product. They charged me twice the actual cost of shipping, and provided no options to use anything other than USPS as a shipping company. USPS made no actual effort to deliver the package, I was home the entire day that a delivery attempt was supposedly made. I would have to say ordering something through Toys'N Joys and using USPS for shipping is probably the worst possible thing you could do. I did not get my product until a full week after the invoice date, and ended up having to pick it up at the post office myself. Overall, I am unsatisfied with the entire experience and do not plan to order from them ever again.

Communicated through email and it seemed like there were mulitple people dealing with me. Their first email to me after I purchased the items was "We received a payment for $162.85 from your PayPal account. We can't seem to find a match to your order. What item did you order? If possible, could you please forward us a copy of your order confirmation to this e-mail address, so that we may process your order immediately. Thank you!"
First they said they had it and that it shipped. Then they said it was on back-order. Then they told me it shipped again.
When trying to phone them, all mail boxes were full ALL the time and no one answered the phone.
I never received the items. (After emailing back and forth for 3 months). I'm still waiting for my money to be returned to me.
My experience was stressful and disappointed.

ordered a gamecube title that was listed on the site as in stock. called to verify if it is in stock, cust service says they had plenty. ordered on a friday so told me i would not recieve until following friday. i agreed. called the following wednesday to get tracking number, said still was not packaged due to them being too busy. told would do it friday and be sent out by following monday. called the following tuesday spoke to owner to find out that they actually had zero in stock, and will order it for me. still awaiting a email from owner alex due days ago. 2 weeks to check inventory? customer service liers? staff and boss too busy? horrible communication. should not be in business. extreamly unprofessional. owner seems like nice guy, not enough to justify smooth transaction. employees are just plain lazy, or just don't care about the bosses business. gave credit card # online and will make sure i have this on note to be tracked. never to be recommended. verry bad business. horrible waste of time and energy. like beating a dead horse. what do they do there crack coconuts all day? cook spam and eggs? too busy? or just plain enjoying that hawaii sun. go else where for your gaming needs . as you can see, i am not the only one with a horrible taste in my mouth. worst online experiance period!
