Ok so I placed an order at this store before I saw any of the reviews, it was my fault that I did not research anything before making a purchase. When i placed my order i was very happy to finally find my final fantasy figures that i have been looking for a long time, but then I came across this page and i became terrified that something like what is written would happen to me and I was afraid of being scammed i was getting ready to contact the BBB, but I had no problems with toys n joys, I contacted them and i got a very quick response that same day they shipped my order a little late but that was ok by me.So for me i had a pretty good experience with toys n joys. I got what i wanted at a fair price and they were very helpful.

Despite all the negative reviews, I have to say that I had an amazing experience. I called twice, once to confirm that they had stock, and again to check on the status of the order. Both times I was met with pleasant customer service, and the overall experience (from placing to receiving the order) only took about 2 weeks! I am extremely satisfied, and would highly recommend this company.

Ok so I found rare Transformers toys for my boyfriend on their website and since I had never shopped from their site before I decided to do alittle research before investing a large sum of money into a possible scam. I read alot of reviews and most were really negative. I became very apprehensive about purchasing anything from them since I saw horror story upon horror story. So I called them to make sure everything was kosher. I tried to cover all my bases by asking them if they had the toy in stock and what condition it was in, descriptions of the box and any other detail I could think of. I also told them I was in NY and wanted to know how long it would take to ship everything to me. Alex answered all my questions and totally put me at ease. The customer service was awesome. He told me to place the order online and he would process it right away and told me to call back the second I placed it. I called him back in a matter of 5 minutes and he processed it as I was on the phone with him. He told me I would receive a confirmation with a tracking number in about 15 minutes. About 15-20 minutes later he called me back just to make sure I received the email. He told me to expect the package on Monday. I ended up buying a rare transformer toy and a Nintendo ds bundle which has been sold out all over NY. I was still a little worried that I may not get my items before the holidays since that seemed to be a common theme in all the posts I had read. I really worried for no reason at all. I got everything on Monday just like he said which was exactly 6 days after I placed the order which I think isn't too bad since it was making a trip from Hawaii to NY. The Transformer toy was packed up really well so there was no way it would become damaged and the ds was placed in padded packaging. I had a great experience with them and my boyfriend and daughter will be very happy this Christmas. Honestly the best thing I did was talk directly to them and I was straight forward about everything. Even talking to their transformer expert was pleasant. I really can't complain at all about anything. Even the 6 hour time difference didn't matter. Everytime I called someone always picked up the phone to answer my questions. I would definitely use their site again. Another bonus was the transformer toy I bought is selling on ebay and other stores in NY for $100-$200 more than I paid for it. All in all I have no complaints about anything.

There were some Final Fantasy figures that I wanted which I searched for and eventually found on the Toys N Joys website. Despite reading lots of bad reviews here I decided to take a risk and buy them, as it looked like a good store and I couldn't find the figures anywhere else. To my pleasant surprise I did get a short reply to the emails I sent and the figures were shipped to the UK very quickly. I received everything ordered within 2 weeks. Will certainly consider buying more merchandise from Toys N Joys.

Ok,  
I decided to buy some more stuff from these folks and it looks like they are running well so far. I bought some random junk including a chromium figure (random, although to my disappointment I didn't get the one I wanted, but that's not TNJ's fault :P), a FFVII highwind model (by the way, it looks absolutely stunning), and a Rikku choker (which was backordered), to name a few. They were (except the choker) shipped to me in good time and I loved it. The highwind model was amazing. It was really worth the 80 dollars. So far, so good.  
 
I also ordered from them once more, including: A light blue Nintendo DS, a little DS strap, a matching pouch, and a couple Metal Gear Solid soundtracks. They said that they are on the way to me right now, so I will anxiously await for this exciting order. If all goes well, I will plan to buy from them again by November or December.  
 
Overall, they are doing really good for me. Communication is much better and Alex Le is so far, very nice guy. I will shop from these folks again. =D

I ordered a Japanese Playstation 2 and a Japanese PS2 game, which I recieved promptly.  
 
However, I didn't receive an invoice number, and I wanted to be able to check to see when my order shipped and get the tracking number, so I emailed their sales department, who said that they'd notify me when it shipped. Shortly thereafter, I got a UPS ship notification email with my tracking number. So it worked out just fine, but it would be nice if they had an online way to check the order status (is it being processed? or has it shipped?). The sales responded promptly and answered my question, however.

In october I order a digimon clock and then I got a email from them that it has being back order. And I only received it in mid june. 2 weeks before I order again and I got it within a week. I dont know whats theyre deal but just be careful. Even with the prices that can be expensive. Like a pokemon figure around 6-8$. And on ebay you can get it for less.

Do not order from them online or send them emails, they will never check.  
 
I ordered an item from them on a Wednesday for 2nd day delivery. Did not send it in time so I didn't get it until the following Monday. When I sent them an email about it I never rec'd a response. I will never buy from here again.

Horrible Experience, I took should have read reviews about this company before making a purchase, They have great merchandise, but terrible customer service. There was 1 female who was extremely nice, but her supervisor wasn't so great. Took 4 weeks for a package from hawaii to NYC, the order was a late X-mas present and turned into a REALLY late X-mas present. They told me on the phone, oh i don't know what happened your package, it should have been there and maybe it was lost, we can't do anything about that. I asked if there was insurance on the order they said no, only on the shipping not the products...does that make sense to anyone else? then they said i would have to wait till a lost claim was made to get my money back and or wait after the claim to get my package. I was like well you know it was lost, why not file the claim and send me my order and you handle the claim on your own time. Then I didnt want my money back only the products, they couldnt upgrade the shipping as a courtsey..i was let down, and alot of the times the number was busy

If you wish to make good use of your hard-earned cash, you would do best to cast it to the wind instead of making a purchase with Toys N Joys. I have been waiting for more than three months to receive a simple order for only two items. I paid immediately and waited patiently, but after an uncomfortable length of time passed without my being sent a shipping invoice or tracking number, I attempted to contact the sales department of TNJ to gently request some information on the status of my order. What followed was a nightmarish journey through a fetid swamp of dissastifaction where the cryptic and lacadaisical e-mail responses sent to me by TNJ were the tenuous and shifting stepping stones I was forced to use in navigating my way towards my goal of receiving the merchandise I paid for.  
 
On three different occasions, I have been told that my order has been shipped. Each time I have been informed of this, a new e-mail has arrived from TNJ within a few days, stating that the order has been changed, claiming that the order is being re-shipped, or asking me to tell them once again just exactly what it was that I ordered.  
 
If you order from Toys N Joys, be prepared to languish for months in a joyless state of complete toylessness. I am frowning at you, Toys N Joys!  
 
UPDATE: My merchandise finally arrived, and the order was correct, but I am left with the impression that if I hadn't been relentless in pursing the matter, I would have received nothing in the end. Only do business with Toys N Joys if you have a lot of stamina and nerves of steel.

After reading a lot of the reviews on here, I fear that I, like a lot of others, might be in for some drama.  
 
I ordered an 8'inch plushie from the game series Kingdom Hearts (Axel!) on the 16th of October. It took a while for the money to be withdrawn from my account, but I live in a small town and that bank branch is probably the only one out there besides the main branch in a larger city in the state. Also, I had ordered quite a few other things online at the time, so I'm not complaining about that. My bank posted the payment on the 22nd.  
 
The invoice for the order is dated the 20th. At that time, I received an email saying it would ship soon. Alright then. But...soon has come and gone. It's now November 3rd. A very early November third though, so maybe, just maybe, it'll come today (ha ha!). 3-7 days for shipping, eh? I did send an email about Thursday of last week (the 29th), but I too have not heard anything back just yet.  
 
I have read the reviews though that insist on being patient, considering it's a small-town store trying to operate on a large scale. But with that said, shouldn't they close down the online site then? I should've known something was up when I saw some items that said they needed to be pre-ordered, but their release date was months ago, meaning it either should've been in stock by then, or able to be quickly shipped in to be bought by customers. But all my eyes could see was that plushie... I'm going to call later today to see if I can contact someone about this. I'll be wary of the run-arounds many have received and will update this review as I go along. I'm shooting for a refund (months from now?) since I've actually found what I wanted on another site and it's a bit cheaper as well. So, let's see how this goes...  
 
EDIT, November 4th: Well, I called and it thankfully didn't take me forever to get in contact with someone. They at first said a shipment was supposed to have come last week, but didn't and that one would come this week. Well, I decided to cut out the middleman and just ask for a refund. Later that evening, I get an email asking if I'd like the plushie in another size...but I'd already bought the size plushie I wanted (14 inches would tower over my L Lawliet plush!) and declined, saying I would only like the refund. Not sure how long that will take though. Again, we'll see.  
 
EDIT, November 6th: Okay, so I had messaged the owner, manager, whatever about just wanting my refund. Why did I just get another email saying that he will have a larger version of the plushie in stock in about a week and will send that? I clearly stated I DO NOT WANT IT!! All I want is my money back; I just ordered what I wanted from a more reliable site. In fact, oh wow, gee, it shipped on time too! I was polite to him when I said that I didn't want the toy (yet again!) but he really needs to learn to listen to what the customer's are asking for. Refund sounds nothing like "Send me a 14 inch plushie." AGAIN, let's see what happens.

I am an avid anime/action figure collector who has ordered from several smaller websites for about a decade now, and this is the very first time I have had to turn someone into the BBB. After waiting for a month without hearing anything, I filed a PayPal dispute. They said they'd refund me. Nothing happened. Then I turned them into the BBB a week later, mostly so I could contribute to their F rating. That did the trick, but it was nearly TWO MONTHS later when this was all resolved. AVOID!

I placed an order on June 29th received conformation that they had received it promptly the 30th, after that I waited two weeks and eventually received an Invoice on July 11th stating that my order would ship "soon".  
 
After waiting about 3-4days (13th or 14th) I sent an email asking whats going on with my order and heard nothing back as of 16th I decided to do some searching and found this page.  
 
I decided to send an email to them stating that I'd like to cancel my order and told them if they were unwilling to refund the charges I'd either call my credit card company and reverse the charges through them, or the link someone else provided ic3.gov  
 
(as of yet I haven't received the item and assume they still have not shipped it)  
 
approximately 15-30mins have passed since I sent the email and promptly received an email stating Quoted directly from the email,  
 
"Aloha,  
 
We thank you for your order, but regret that we could not fulfill your order. Assuming we did not ship further product(s) of this order, we will pull and cancel the outstanding order as requested. We will also refund you if we have already charged you for the order. From the day we submit the refund please allow 1-4 weeks for the transaction to be posted to your account.  
 
Thank you for shopping at Toys N' Joys Online!"  
 
had given me a proper response to my initial email they'd probably still have a sale, But that depends on if they had the item in stock or were planning on giving me the run around like others posted here.
