After reading a lot of the reviews on here, I fear that I, like a lot of others, might be in for some drama.
I ordered an 8'inch plushie from the game series Kingdom Hearts (Axel!) on the 16th of October. It took a while for the money to be withdrawn from my account, but I live in a small town and that bank branch is probably the only one out there besides the main branch in a larger city in the state. Also, I had ordered quite a few other things online at the time, so I'm not complaining about that. My bank posted the payment on the 22nd.
The invoice for the order is dated the 20th. At that time, I received an email saying it would ship soon. Alright then. But...soon has come and gone. It's now November 3rd. A very early November third though, so maybe, just maybe, it'll come today (ha ha!). 3-7 days for shipping, eh? I did send an email about Thursday of last week (the 29th), but I too have not heard anything back just yet.
I have read the reviews though that insist on being patient, considering it's a small-town store trying to operate on a large scale. But with that said, shouldn't they close down the online site then? I should've known something was up when I saw some items that said they needed to be pre-ordered, but their release date was months ago, meaning it either should've been in stock by then, or able to be quickly shipped in to be bought by customers. But all my eyes could see was that plushie... I'm going to call later today to see if I can contact someone about this. I'll be wary of the run-arounds many have received and will update this review as I go along. I'm shooting for a refund (months from now?) since I've actually found what I wanted on another site and it's a bit cheaper as well. So, let's see how this goes...
EDIT, November 4th: Well, I called and it thankfully didn't take me forever to get in contact with someone. They at first said a shipment was supposed to have come last week, but didn't and that one would come this week. Well, I decided to cut out the middleman and just ask for a refund. Later that evening, I get an email asking if I'd like the plushie in another size...but I'd already bought the size plushie I wanted (14 inches would tower over my L Lawliet plush!) and declined, saying I would only like the refund. Not sure how long that will take though. Again, we'll see.
EDIT, November 6th: Okay, so I had messaged the owner, manager, whatever about just wanting my refund. Why did I just get another email saying that he will have a larger version of the plushie in stock in about a week and will send that? I clearly stated I DO NOT WANT IT!! All I want is my money back; I just ordered what I wanted from a more reliable site. In fact, oh wow, gee, it shipped on time too! I was polite to him when I said that I didn't want the toy (yet again!) but he really needs to learn to listen to what the customer's are asking for. I am an avid anime/action figure collector who has ordered from several smaller websites for about a decade now, and this is the very first time I have had to turn someone into the BBB. After waiting for a month without hearing anything, I filed a PayPal dispute. They said they'd refund me. Nothing happened. Then I turned them into the BBB a week later, mostly so I could contribute to their F rating. That did the trick, but it was nearly TWO MONTHS later when this was all resolved. AVOID!

I placed an order on June 29th received conformation that they had received it promptly the 30th, after that I waited two weeks and eventually received an Invoice on July 11th stating that my order would ship "soon".
After waiting about 3-4days (13th or 14th) I sent an email asking whats going on with my order and heard nothing back as of 16th I decided to do some searching and found this page.
I decided to send an email to them stating that I'd like to cancel my order and told them if they were unwilling to refund the charges I'd either call my credit card company and reverse the charges through them, or the link someone else provided ic3.gov
(as of yet I haven't received the item and assume they still have not shipped it)
approximately 15-30mins have passed since I sent the email and promptly received an email stating Quoted directly from the email,
"Aloha,
We thank you for your order, but regret that we could not fulfill your order. Assuming we did not ship further product(s) of this order, we will pull and cancel the outstanding order as requested. We will also refund you if we have already charged you for the order. From the day we submit the refund please allow 1-4 weeks for the transaction to be posted to your account.
Thank you for shopping at Toys N' Joys Online!"
had given me a proper response to my initial email they'd probably still have a sale, But that depends on if they had the item in stock or were planning on giving me the run around like others posted here.

Unbelievable store. Their business is shady to the fact that they list things that they dont have stock of. I've asked for a refund and its been 5 days since that guy Alex told me he'll refund me.
update: i reported the website through ic3.gov and immediately after receiving a letter from the office of consumer protection in hawaii, they refunded my $20. these guys are crooks, especially Alex Le whos the owner of the store. WHY HASN'T TOYS-N-JOYS BEEN CLOSED DOWN??!!!
I've tried 4 times to order from them, and every time, I've gotten nothing but problems! First time I ordered a Kamen Rider Agito motorcycle, but instead they make me wait over 3 months to send me the wrong toy--a Kamen Rider Gills cycle I already had! It took about 5 phone calls from NY to HI just to get someone to speak to me and to return the cycle. Once that agony was done, they sent me the correct toy--BUT IT CLEARLY HAD A BROKEN FRONT WHEEL! Yet another month of unanswered phone calls before they finally sent me a brand new one.
Stupidly, I ordered something again from them thinking that it was just a one-time problem! Nope--same story. This time I ordered a Medicom Kamen Rider 12-inch figure, but instead, they send me the wrong character IN THE WRONG SIZE! I paid over $120 and got an item worth less than $50. Once again, another 5-6 long-distance phone calls and I finally got my money back, but I lost out on the postage when I had to send the wrong figure back.
Just last week, my friend ordered a set of figures from them without consulting me on these rip-off artists, and now he's getting the runaround. He spoke with this Alex Le, who assured him that the order was "easy to re-stock"--yeah, so easy that now he just got an e-mail stating that the order is back-ordered, and to top it all off, the figures listed in the e-mail is completely wrong! Just another typical theft by Toys-N-Joys!
I can't believe they have 2 stores--I guess one store ripping people off isn't enough for this group of con artists! Everyone here, I feel your pain in getting the runaround with the long-distance calls and the rude responses.
If I didn't live on the East Coast, it might be worth flying out just to confront these idiots!

I STRONGLY AGREE!!!! We had ordered 2 DVD players with 2 separate credit cards. One of these were for a birthday gift in 3 weeks. The order went through and then we waited 2 whole weeks and received NOTHING. We paid for 3-5 day priority mail shipping. We placed a call to them, now keep in mind we are calling long distance... the state of PA to Hawaii. They keep you on hold for over 25 minutes every time you call... until you get tired of waiting and hang up. Finally we got through and they told us our DVD were on back order.... BUT WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED. So we then were charged for the DVD players a few days later when they still were on back order. We called again and "Lena" told us that they were getting some more in stock and that would be in 3 days. So then we waited another week and I made yet another phone call. Lena told me she would have a manager call me back... HAHAHAHA that NEVER happened. I had to call yet again.... finally speaking to a "supposed" manager "Art". Well, he was very unsympathetic and very uncaring. He would offer no discount on anything. So he told he would upgrade the shipping to TWO day delivery, but ONLY for one of them. Well, whats funny is that the "supposedly upgraded" one came AFTER the standard shipping one... WHAT A DISCOUNT.Well, to top that off... when they finally arrived.... NEITHER OF THEM WERE THE CORRECT PRODUCT. We ordered 2 purple DVD players. The first package was a BLUE, not even the same style we ordered, DVD player which was $10.00 cheaper than what we ordered and paid. The second package was a PINK, not even the same style we ordered, DVD player which was $10.00 cheaper than what we ordered and paid.
So making the 6th phone call and after waiting on the phone another 20 minutes to get through to someone, they told us the process to return the items and supposedly get a refund. Again, LENA told us it would only be 2-3 days for our refund to be processed. We shipped them back THE SAME DAY AT THE SAME TIME. Both priority mail 2-3 day shipping!! But we got smart, we put tracking delivery confirmation on them. They were delivered to Them in Hawaii on March 31st 2009. I made YET ANOTHER phone call on April 7th. I was told they JUST received them by LENA. ( A HUGE LIE ) Postal confirmation confirmed their delivery of March 31st. Which I brought to her attention. Lena then said that it will take 2 days to go through to the return department. I stated it has been 7 days. She then said the return was processed on the 7th. I FINALLY received my money back on April 9th, 2009. However.... the 2nd DVD player we returned, at the same time and same day.... They NEVER refunded to this day. We waited on the phone for 25 minutes and had to call from another phone at the same time to get through. And again... spoke to LENA. Now that she was questioned about never receiving the other refund, she now said it takes 3-10 days for refunds. Bringing to her attention that the first one ( SHIPPED THE SAME TIME AND SAME WAY AND DELIVERED AT THE SAME TIME ) still wasn't refunded... she insisted that it takes 10 days. Why did the other one go through and received after 2 days but the second still after 6 days hasn't even been received???????
THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AND THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY. BEWARE.... DO NOT ORDER FROM TOYS N JOYS EVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are the worst business in the world. They take your money, LIE, send the wrong product to make you think they sent your package to get you off their back, then take a month to refund HALF your money if that!!!

This is definitely the worst online shop I have ever came over so far in my entire life.
I placed my order on Jan 21st for a plush toy which was advertised in stock. The second day I received the email confirming item ready to ship. However, it never came. Called and emailed for countless times but no response. Just received the email saying the item is out of stock. I requested refund and so far no result. I just got one email this morning (April 8th) stating the item is out of stock again.
Just like other people said in their reviews, this store is absolutely not professional at all. They don't care about the customers and never ship or ship the wrong item. And for more people, it's more like a fraud because even if you request refund, they rarely refund your money. The store is totally a thieving and dishonest company. Items advertised on their website are usually out of stock and they never tell you.
I'm still struggling to get my money back. For the future buyers, stay away from this company as far as possible!

I've placed an order with Toys N' Joys in December,I haven't got any answer so I've e-mailed them and realized it seemed my credit-card infos weren't correct.I've placed the order again and on the 9th of January my credit card has been charged for the total amount,only to find out later the goods weren't available.I've told them to replace
those with others.Finally on the 26th of January I was told my oder was shipped.But
things would have come separeted.Well,I've received only 1 thing,but not the other 2 toys i've ordered and paid for.So,I've started to send mails,faxes.And guess what??No reply at all.If this is their way to make
on line sale,well I am afraid for other people!
don't buy fron them!!!!

I wish I had checked this site before ordering from these clowns. Read most of the negatives on here and I have the exact same experience. The customer service reps they have are all monkeys with the same generic response. 'We will email you shortly'. I ordered 6 figures, got 4. Supposedly the other 2 were backordered. When I called to inquire (day or delivery) they had just gotten a shipment. They told me I would get my order in a week, an email about it, yada yada. Low and behold 2 weeks later and nothing. I called back to find out what happened. The lady I spoke to this time claimed they had 'sold out before they could pull my back order'. Funny, she had no idea which 2 figures I didn't receive. By this logic, I will NEVER get my items because THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PART OF MY ORDER IS UNFULFILLED! They are liars and trained to parrot a list of generic responses to delay fullfilling their obligations. I've already initiated a paypal dispute. I no longer want my order AT ALL now. I can find all 6 figures easily from other hobby sites. I am further demanding they pay for return shipping. If paypal can't deal with them, I'm 100% sure AMEX can. Long story short, DO NOT BUY FROM TOYSNJOYS. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Don't buy from them! They have over 130 cases filed against them with the Better Business Bureau. THEY DO NOT SHIP YOUR ORDER TO YOU. THEY DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY EMAILS FROM YOU. Don't buy from them!

Placed order on December 31st, 2008. Heard nothing until I called them on January 7th. They told me my order would be processed that day and the figures would be shipped out the next day and I would get an email about it. I never got an email. Instead they charged my card and that was it.
I emailed them on the 12th about my order and never got a reply. I called them on the 15th to inquire and I was told my items were on backorder and would be in that Friday, the 16th. Once again I got no email that they shipped. Sent another email to them on the 19th, no reply. Called them on the 23rd and they said the figures would definitely be in that day and they would ship them that day or Monday. Monday came and went, I called them on the 28th and was told the figures would be in wednesday of next week, the 4th of February.
I called today, the 4th, and was told the items were out of stock. I asked if they expected them back in stock anytime soon and the guy said yes when their distributor in Japan got them. I asked him why I was told 3 times the figures would be in that friday and was never told initially they were on backorder. He said "I dunno, have a good day" and hung up.
I have now asked for a refund and if they do not give it by Friday then I will be doing a chargeback and reporting them to the BBB.

I usually find online retailers to be alright and I don't usually need to check nor leave feedback. This is an EXCEPTION. TOYS N JOYS is the WORST business I have ever done with in my life. I had ordered about 10 items, totalling about ~$150. I had received ONE t-shirt and everything else is on 'backorder'. THey charged me in full for all items, including ridiculous shipping for just one t-shirt and said the rest of the items should be available in 1-4 weeks. I wait 4 weeks and nothing. I e-mail them to cancel the rest of my order for a refund, and they reply saying itll take 1-4 weeks. I wait another 5 weeks, and nothing. So i send a second e-mail. Their reply was the EXACT same email saying itll take 1-4 weeks. I left them another email to which they probably will never respond. Never buy from this store guys!

Ordered on Christmas Day. I realize that holidays can delay shipping. However, this company waited 2 weeks before even processing the order much less shipping it. It was NOT a back-ordered item. Their site claims item will be shipped and received within 3-7 days. I have made several attempts to contact them to at least get a confirmed ship date. No response and no Gameboy Advance bundle. At the very least, this company should respond to e-mails. I paid immediately but they are taking their sweet, "no worries- Island Time" to complete the transaction. "Island Time" is fine if you are a local or on vacation but it is NOT O.K. if you are running a business. At the very least, they could show basic courtesy and send my order information.
I have never received a response. Poor work ethics and poor communication. Very disappointed.
I would NEVER do business with them again.
Below is an e-mail I just received from this company. After countless phone calls and e-mails with no response, I finally sent a very angry e-mail, demanding information about the status of my order. So- it took them 2 weeks to notice that the item was "out of stock or back-ordered"?
I don't think so. What I think is that this company is a front for some illegal activity.

NEVER di busuness with this company. I placed my order online on Dec 16, 2008. They processed and got their payment on Dec 18, 2008. Sent me an email stating my items had shipped on the 18th. AS of the 25th of Dec. no items came. I started calling them on the 26th of Dec. each time I called I was placed on hold for 30 to 45 mins. They gave me a tracking number for the USPS that come to find out did not exsist at all. Again, I called daily. I told them I wanted my money back or the items. I told them I was going to file a fraud charge on them with my credit card co, and they told me to go ahead and do it, they did not care. I sent them emails and to this day they have never answered any of them. PLEASE save yourself the headaches and shop else where.
