I will let the e-mails speak of my experience:
1st e-mail sent (10 days after placing the order):
Since placing an order on the 6th of September your web site still says tracking inforation is unavailable. Please let me know the status of my
order: XXXXX
1st reply:
Your item is on backorder from Canon and is probably the hardest item to find right now. They have announced a "newer" version with IS (image stabilizer) but I have not gotten clarification if this is a replacement or
a complimentary version since the price is significantly higher. We have not charged you and will not charge until shipment. In addition, Canon has a price increase slated for 10/1 and all units not received by us (and hence
shipped by us) will be subject to that price increase. Please let me know if you have any questions.
2nd e-mail sent:
Thank you for the prompt response. Can you give me a date as to when this lens is expected to arrive? The order history tab on your web site is very misleading as it states:
ORDER STATUS-IN PROCESS Sunday, September 06, 2009
2nd reply:
Technically your order is in process but not in shipping
.i have forwarded your email and thoughts to our web team. I wish I had a good answer for you. I do have several customers ahead of you waiting for the exact same lens. Dont hold me to it but I would guess that they are phasing it out and that is why it is so hard to come by. My guess is about 3-6 week delay or an announcement that it will no longer ship.
3rd e-mail sent:
Both Amazon and Abes of Maine have it in stock. I placed an order with Abes of Maine. Please cancel my order: XXXXX
3rd e-mail response:
Your order has been cancelled.
I will give this company credit with responding very quickly to e-mails. Other than that, I have nothing else positive to say. I was never informed this lens was on back order until 11 days after odering/sending an e-mail. Also, to raise the price because the item is on back order after I placed the order is just wrong!

I purchased a D50 camera body from this seller on 5/08/2006. However, immediately after I ordered, they wanted me to call to confirm my address for shipping. After the phone call, the alternate shipping address was added to the credit card on that same day with the credit card company, but they still gave me the run around saying they couldn't ship the D50. When I checked the website, the D50 was out of stock and they were playing the waiting game on me. They never had the D50 instock in the first place to ship it and they were just trying to prolong my order shipment. After a few more days with a few more emails, they finnally said that they don't have the D50 instock and they were willing to sell me the D50 kit minus the len. To this date, I have yet to see this order materialized. Alll they do is talk.

This customer placed the order on May 8th. Our store policy REQUIRES that the shipping address, if it is different than the credit card billing address, has to be listed with the credit card company. We had the camera in stock (over 50 pieces in stock), but since the shipping address was not listed with the credit card company, we contacted the customer to have them add it. They complained about it but it is our policy so we could not budge, especially because the credit card holder was not the person who ordered the camera, and it was being billed in California and shipped in New Hampshire. The customer said they will do it and get back to us. The customer never got back to us, so after 3 days of waiting we tried checking for the alternate shipping address and it still was not listed. We then contacted the customer again and they stated that the shipping address was listed with the credit card company. We told them we just got off the phone with their credit card company and the shipping address is definitely not listed with the credit card company. We never heard back from the customer, so after 2 more days of waiting, we were running on low supply of the D50 and had to move to the next person on the list. We informed the customer, and the customer still insisted that the alternate address is listed with the credit card company. Just to triple-check, we called the credit card company again and it was STILL not listed. We had to therefore cancel their order because it was obvious and apparent that, after 6 days, the alternate address would not be listed with the credit card company. |

I just placed an order with this company and was quoted a shipping price but when I placed the order the shipping cost was almost doubled. Stay away from this company.

The customer found us through Shopping.com (a price comparison site); they allow you to input your zip code to get 'estimated' shipping costs. They have a disclaimer on the bottom of their page, stating: "Shipping costs are estimates. Please check store for exact shipping costs." The customer placed the order, realized the discrepancy in the shipping and called us. We tried to explain that the shipping cost they saw on Shopping.com was an approximation (the real cost was $7 more that what they saw on Shopping.com). Before we could tell the customer we would honor the price they saw, the customer abruptly hung up on us. We tried calling the customer back a few minutes later and were hung up on once again. We then cancelled the order and notified him via email of the cancellation. |

I purchased a Canon 10D and a couple of the Canon IS lenses. The 10D is a hard-to-get camera, and I had contacted several of my 'normal' suppliers, but kept getting the runaround, so I tried ePhotocraft. Ordered Canon 10D, 28-135mm IS, and 75-300mm IS. Later added 512 MB CF card, remote shutter release, and two lens hoods. initially the 28-135 was out of stock, but they were very up front about it- no funny business.
On the day the camera was to ship, they discovered that the battery door was partially broken. While I am grateful that they checked on it, it would have been even better if they checked this when the order was placed instead of waiting until the day it was to ship. (The late discovery lead to a delay in shipping that could have been avoided.)
None the less, it was an excellent experience. They were very up front, knowledgeable, and they don't engage in any of the sleeze sales tactics of the typical web sellers. There's a lot to be said for good customer service. I would definitely buy from them again.

Since I have had previous dealings with this company, they were the first to come to mind when I decided to buy a new camera lens. They have a very good selection of excellent products. Their prices are very competitive, and their service is second to none. The order was shipped the same day it was ordered, and I received it within the estimated time. I highly recommend ePhotoCraft. Eldar of ePhotoCraft has been very responsive and easy to deal with. He got me a good deal (Nikon D300s & Nikon 18-200 VR II lens). Products were shipped promptly. Can't wait to try my new toys out!
Won't hesitate to buy from this company again. I am glad that I found this company. Now, I have an option to buy from other well known sellers as well as this good company. Thanks for a great transaction.

Great experience! I was nervous as it was my first order with Photo Craft. I ordered a Nikon 200-400 lens on Saturday and selected free shipping; it was delivered today (Wednesday). Item was in stock with a price $300 lower than both Adorama and B&H and included US warranty. I'll definitely shop there again.

PhotoCraft had the second-best price but was the only merchant with the product available for shipping at the time. The order was processed the next business day and the free shipping got the product to my home in exactly one week. I'm very pleased and will not hesitate to shop with PhotoCraft again. Highly recommended.

On December 25 (yeah! Christmas day), I ordered a Leica D-Lux 4 digital camera and leather-fitted case as a gift for my wife using a different photo eretailer (OpticsPlanet.com).
The next day I learned after some probing that the camera was out of stock and would force a backorder. OpticsPlanet were very friendly and had not charged my credit card ahead of shipping which was a pleasant surprise (I have published a review of that experience as well).
But, still no cigar. No gift.
So, I cancelled and found ephotocraft.com after digging deep the web search engines. Every other trustworthy source (like B&H Photo, Norman Camera, Berger Bros) were out of stock.
First I checked for absolutely no grey product. Check. Checked status as an authorized Leica dealer. Check. Ready to ship indication. Check. New, factory fresh. Check. On-line account for real-time order status. Check. OK price. Check. Delivery within one week. Check.
I received the goods yesterday December 30. Just brilliant. Factory fresh, well packed. Today, I am setting up the camera for my wife.
I cannot be more pleased. Highly recommended. This review was modified by its author, doctor.j, on

I did my research before buying a camera online. In researching the reviews I was highly impressed with the reviews from ePhotoCraft customers. After looking at many review sites I decided to make my purchase with them. My price was right the shipping was immediate and the camera arrived within a few days! Everything was perfect and the experience was exceptional. They had a problem with details on my credit card and called me on the phone for some information and off we went. Shipped within minutes of the call! I highly recommend using them for your next purchase.
Best regards,

Outside of eBay I've never submitted feedback but want to do so in this case. I was jerked around by a highly advertised NYC store with claims the supplied camera battery only lasted 15 minutes so did I want a 2-hour or 4-hour additional battery? And that regular SDHC cards will not work so would I like a special 4GB or 8GB card? And finally that "insurance" was additional 9% of total. Price wound up $220 dollars over the advertised price. Not hard to spot the BS so I went back to internet listings and saw ePhotoCraft had same base price. I had never heard of them but called.
What a difference.....polite, knowledgeable person on the phone confirmed above was nonsense as the OEM supplied battery, charger, and a 4GB card PhotoCraft threw in, all work fine...with free shipping to include insurance. I entered order on website and camera was at my door within 3 days. That is how it should work.

I was referred to ePhotoCraft by a friend who told me about their exceptional service and great pricing. So, I ordered a Nikon D80 body with a 18-55 VR lens for $695 (which is still the lowest among legitimate dealers for this kit). I paid $570 for the camera alone and the rest for the lens. A couple of days later the price of the camera body alone (for the same lot) was lowered by the company. When I wrote an email to the company about this, Eldar gave me a call the next day and explained that the person who billed me should have written the current (reduced) price for the body alone on the invoice and charged the market price for the lens which is about $150-160. This was a very logical explanation because the price quoted for the lens alone in my invoice was way lower than any seller. I took the pricing on the invoice way too literally and hence I was a bit disappointed. Eldar's frank and honest explanation cleared my confusion and disappointment.
At this point I was happy with my purchase but then Eldar went out of his way and offered me an extended warranty on my purchase as a goodwill gesture.
This was really heartening, since in buying from various online sellers since the last 3 years, I have not seen any seller going out of its way to keep the customer (me) happy.
Apart from this the ordering was smooth, the salesman was courteous and very professional (no hard selling). Shipping was through UPS (my favorite)and order reached well packed and with all the goodies and the original warranty in 2 days.
To be very honest I never expected a reply to my email and this kind of personal attention to the customer's happiness is unheard of these days and has simply amazed me.
I can tell you that you can trust this seller as a member of your family and they won't let you down. I will definitely shop here again and again. Great job guys, keep it up!!!
