By far the worst customer service I've seen from a computer reseller. No one answers the 800 number, and no one returns messages left on their voicemail. They had my top-of-the-line machine for over two months to replace the motherboard. I've had it back for a week, and it's broken again. Extremely frustrated with the support on what is a great machine when it's working! This review was modified by its author, skeetz27, on

I purchased laptop on June 30th. They did get back to confirm the order almost immediately. I was impressed with this. They did say it would take two weeks because I wanted a custom paint job. No problem,I understood that. I called on the 15th on July to check on the status. They said that they were not going to ship it until the 25th of July. This upset me a little but I let it go. I called on the 26th to check and they said there was a paint problem and it needed to get re painted. When I asked when it would be done they needed to call the painter and get back to me which they did not within the hour they said but several hours later. They said it would be ready late last week. I checked again today called they again said that they needed to get back to me. I have now waited 5 and half weeks since the order and a full three weeks past the original time I was told it would be ready. I have been frustrated as a consumer can be.
That is the happy part. Now let me explain their customer service. Apart from the prompt order confirmation, Vicious PC has horrible customer service. When I call, I need to call 5 or 6 times in a row before a human answers the phone. I make sure it is west coast time and I have left messages. No one gets back on phone messages or e-mail. I have tried both and no luck. I have never been treated so poorly by a company before. I feel they don't want my money and order. I am very upset and would love to cancel the order but again I can't get a hold of anyone at Vicious. I am bummed because it seems people like their products. I would love to enjoy their products also. Please be aware of this when ordering with Vicious.

Like so many others reviews I read on here, I did a good deal of research into the various gaming rig builders(alienware, maingear, falcon) and found them all to be highly over priced, even when they offer "Take xxx amound of dollars off your total for spending xxxx amount."
Checking the price of a computer put together by Vicious was within 100 dollars of what I would have paid for the quality of parts from online vendors. That being said, for a few dollars more, Vicious saved me the headache of putting the computer together, individual part failure, and the headache of waiting for parts to come at different time intervals.
I ordered my computer 15 days ago and am waiting for it to ship. Will leave an update once I get it in and check everything out. I did recieve the usual phone call to go over my order and confirm that I had indeed made said order. The only thing I find Vicious to be lacking is an updated ordering form so that you can see pictures of the actual parts you are ordering and it would be nice for a means of seeing what phase of ordering/construction/shipping your computer is at on the website. The Vicious PC site tells you that the order will take 5-10 days to be processed, built, tested and shipped. It ended up taking longer (about three weeks until I was notified that it shipped). Not a big deal, I'd rather they take their time and make sure everything was right.
The only complaint I have about the time it took is that I was never notified that it was going to take longer. After 14 days I sent an email, I got a rather curt response telling me that they'd let me know when it shipped. Again, it isn't a big deal but it would have been nice if I'd been told it was going to take longer.
When the system finally arrived I was slightly dismayed to discover that the logitech G5 mouse wasn't included. I called Vicious and was told it would arrive the next day as it was shipped seperately. Not a big deal, I wouldn't have bothered calling if there had been a note included.
The system is beautiful with a clear side panel that shows how neatly it was wired. All the wires are wrapped together and there is a very cool neon light inside the case.
Is this thing on??? It is SO QUIET! It booted up perfectely (is is SO MUCH faster than my old system) with the Vicious PC logo as the background, very cool!
Here comes the test...I bought Battlefield 2 and FEAR and have been waiting to be able to play them. Both games are known to be system killers, monsters that you have to have a high-end rig to run at anything faster than a slideshow.
BF2 looks INCREDIBLE, I still can't believe how QUIET this system is. If it wasn't for the lights you'd never know it was even on.
I encountered a problem and had to call tech support. The 24 hour tech line is ALWAYS busy, I get the feeling it is one phone line for the whole country. Once California business hours came around I was able to speak with Jacky at Vicious. He got the problem straightened out in no time. It wasn't their fault at all, the problem lied with an external HD I have for backing up important files. Can't blame Vicious for that but they were still nice enough to help me out even though it wasn't the systems fault at all.
The only complaint I have is the 24 hour tech support is absolutely useless since the line is always busy. Since that is outsourced by Vicious PC it isn't their fault. In fact when I ordered the system Jacky at Vicious recomened that I didn't spend the extra few hundered dollars to extend the 24 hour tech support past the first year (first year is free). I get lifetime tech support from Vicious anyway. That was the deciding factor for me, it's rare that a company doesn't try to talk you into spending every possible dime. That made me believe that I could trust Vicious and so far I've been right!
I am VERY pleased with my system, so far everything is running smoothly and fast. BF2 and FEAR both look incredible.
I would recomend Vicious PC to anyone looking for a high-end rig at an affordable price.

I've decided to do business with Vicious because I've contacted several online vendors, and Vicious was the first (and only actually) to respond to my questions. I was contacted by a man named Jacky who was a lot of help, and answered any further questions I had promptly. I finally put in my order yesterday, I will update when i get my system. So far however, I am pleased with the promptness of Jacky and the ViciousPC staff to answer customer concerns :)
update: 4/21
I got the system yesterday, and I have to say I'm pleased with it. I got a great system for a very fair price, and it was everything I expected it to be. The case is really cool looking, and the wiring job on the inside is very organized and well done. The ViciousPC staff have been helpful throughout to answer the questions I had during the process, I would recommend them to anyone who would be interested in buying a good gaming system without having to break the bank. ViciousPC has been a pleasure to do business with and I plan to do business with them in the future when I'm in need of a new system. This review was modified by its author, RyStorm, on

Shopped at some of the "BIG" name venders for my computer. Wanted a very high end gaming machine. Don't want to mention names but one is from outer space and one is a bird ;) I stumbled across Vicious on the nVIDIA web site and checked them out. Not only did I save over $500.00; I got the best service I have had in a LONG time. Every time I called Reena was fantastic and patient. I even changed my configuration 3 times in a 3 day period. The only response I got was "no problem". I spoke to Jacky (manager) and about my computer and he actually talked me out of some items I did not need. He could have sold them to me for the profit but, he was honest and let me know that I did not need them. Service after the sale was just as great. Had the computer at my house (he is in L.A. Calif; I'm in Virgina) in less than 2 weeks. As I was setting up the rig my dog got courious and decided that the fan for the water cooler would be a good thing to break. Called Jacky to buy a new one and his response was (after a giggle) "Don't worry I will send you a new one". These folks will have my business for a LONG TIME! Give them a try...you WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED!!! This review was modified by its author, silverpony, on

They sold me a Katana with 3700+. I found out that it is not compatible with 3700+ because I called the barebone manufacture ASUS. These guys have no idea about their own product. Buyers beware.

Purchasing from vicious pc was never easier. I chose to call the company rather than order from the site because I felt more secure talking to someone directly that I was going to shortly give my $1875 dollars to.
I chose to go with the "Shogun" Centrino laptop model, because it was thin, powerful, and had a long battery life. I ordered the laptop as follows:
2.0Ghz Centrino processor
1GB DDR 400 Ram
60GB 7200RPM Hard disk
Wireless card
DVDRW drive
No OS. (Yes you can order the laptop without OS if you request it over the phone. I saved $70 dollars because I had my own Operating System). I also ordered 2 day air for an extra 22 dollars to zip code 06082.
The sales associate was very curtious and patient, understood everything what I was asking. I placed my order on Feb 18th, and was sent an email, saying to expect a tracking number by the 28th.
I recieved a tracking number on Friday night, 3 days before expected. I called to see what the status is of my order when I saw the money deducted from my account, and was later emailed saying that the tracking number had been created.
I will update this review with more information AFTER I recieve the laptop to review the quality of the product. I am expected to recieve the laptop based on UPS shipping information on March 1st.
******UPDATE******
I recieved the laptop as expected on the 1st of march according to ups. The box was packaged great, lots of materials, nothing was damaged. I took out the laptop and examined it. I found that the laptop was very well made had a nice design, sleek look. Very thin for its power. I loaded windows on the machine with ease, the supplied cds were very easy to load. The laptop driver CD had an auto install that helped alot.
The laptop also came with a free carry case that was not advertised on their site, which saved me about 50 dollars.
Overall, I would strongly recommend Viciouspc as a laptop purchase, and had ZERO problems or complaints. This review was modified by its author, cryogenicstudios, on

I was looking for a specific laptop (after 6 months of searching and comparing) and found it at this site (Shogun model. AKA Uniwill 259IA3). Between 3 different merchants with similar prices, the discount at purchase time and free shipping won me over.
I placed my order on 1/22/2005 (a Saturday). Monday I received a call from Vicious PC to confirm my order and that there were no changes. Some information I found at www.notebookforums.com indicated the price may be a little off, but no additional charges were quoted to me. The ship date was estimated to be 2/2/2005. I decided to wait until 2/3/2005 and call if it hadn't shipped.
The item did not ship 2/2/2005 as estimated, so I called on 2/3/2005 and found the item was backordered. I recommend calling (maybe even pestering:) them to check on the status of any specific system. But I did not cancel my order as they stated that they expected some in and to call them on Wednesday the next week (2/9/2005) if I hadn't heard from them.
I received an email from UPS on 2/8/2005 that the item shipped and was expected to arrive 2/14/2005, which it did.
The item was packed quite well. The shipping container was a box for a standard PC filled with shipping peanuts and another box. After going through 4 boxes I found the laptop. None of this was a hassle.
All necessary CDs were included with the laptop in a separate box. The laptop powered on right out of the box (the battery was low and needed charging). So far, this system has been VERY stable and I am even using it as a digital audio workstation with the on-board audio (which usually isn't possible).
Ths laptop itself is a little larger than I expected, but not outlandish considering the 15.4" screen.
Though the select of laptops is small (3), they are priced right (mine was $1450US) and give extremely good bang for the buck. The laptops are more generic than the big name company's have, but so far I have had a pleasant experience.
Though I did have to call to find out the status of the order (no online order tracking), the people I talked to were very pleasant and easy to deal with. If it had taken longer, I may have canceled my order, but I also knew what I was getting was a custom system from a small company. It might have been different if I was buying a Dell or something.
I would recommend this company for anyone looking for a fast laptop (they sell other systems, too) at a reasonable (I was going for cheap:P) price.

This is the first time I order from Vicious. At first, I was a little skeptical about it. However, I decided to give it a try after my friend highly recommended them. I was glad that I did listen. It has been a few months now that I have the machine and all pistons are still firing as they should. Doom 3 works great with the combination of FX55 and 6800 Ultra. I decided on the Viewsonic 21" CRT and graphics are crisp and bright. All in all, I really love my machine.

The ordering procees with these guys was really easy and quick. they were really good at answering your questions. Well that is about where anything good ends. When i first recieved my computer i noticed that it did not have the additional front case fan i ordered. So i called back and they said n o problem we will send it out. So i proceeded to set it up which was very easy untill i came to the sound. There was none. I double checked everything. Well i called tech support. Well firs they asked me if i had installed the drivers that came with it. Now when you order a new computer the drivers should already be loaded. Well i said no and he was like well do that and proceeded to hang up with out seeing if that even worked. Oh did i tell you that you have to leave your name and number and sit around for ever waiting for them to call you back. Well i had to do that again once the drivers did not solve the problem. Well we went threw some things and well he was very short and rude the whole time. Finally i said look i did some research of my own and well i am missing a software program and he was like i have no idea what you are talking about. So i got off the phone with him and called the mobo manufacture. After 5 minutes with them they informed me i did not have the correct board and that my digital speakers are not supported by this. So after that i had to call back Vicious and let them know they sent me the wrong board. After messing around with CS they finaly said well we will send you the correct mobo. Well i have to send them back the wrong board at cost to me of course. So when they did this 2 weeks after getting the board i was wondering where my fan was and well they have not even sent it yet!! So as i sit now i have a computer with no sound, the wrong mother board, tech support that is useless and well customer service that is anything but! Save your self dont buy here!!!

I placed my order on 12/2/05. They have yet to place their advertised confirmation call 2 days after purchase. They haven't charged my CC yet. They have already gotten off to a bad start with me. I like companies to stick to their promises. I have also sent a few e-mails making sure they did recieve my order and credit card authorization form. No replies as of yet. This was three days ago. I will update as more develops. Bottom line right now...don't like the beginning of this relationship. I ordered from ViciousPC due to good reviews here.
**UPDATE**
I cancelled my order yesterday. They claimed that they called winthin 48 hours to confirm your order. Well, they never called. If I can't trust them to follow through with something as small as calling to confirm an order, how can I trust them to give good customer service/tech support when I need it? These guys don't seem very trustworthy. Stay away!!

We often do not know what happens "behind the lines" at a company. Usually, it isn't the company as a whole that makes a mistake, it's the individual working there. However, an individual IS hired by representatives that the company deem competent and capable - thus, they reflect the company as a business. Their actions (or lack thereof) represent the company.
So, this brings me to ViciuosPC. Some might have had a decent, if not, good experience from them. Most companies (even if they are poor) should deliver on what you purchased, at a reasonable amount of time. Many people have no problem, or albeit, a small problem that they are willing to forget as long as the product is delivered. But, a company, should be ever-willing to help, contact, and take the initiative to keep their customers happy. And, it doesn't take much to keep your customers happy. If there is a delay, most companies should contact the customer, apologize for the delay, and many customers will be happy to wait. The reason, because the company took the initiative to contact you about the problem, and apologize for the delay. Many people aren't very hard to please.
So, I shall describe ViciousPC as a company, and WHY YOU SHOULD NOT shop there. Everything at the company looked very pleasing at first. The website was well constructed. The website was easy to navigate through, and purchasing online was simple. They even sent an automated message to your email account claiming that they will call you in 2 days, which they did. I was very pleased, until the date my product was scheduled to ship, and was not shipped.
I waited an entire week after the date of when my product was supposed to be shipped, until I mailed them. Keep in mind, that my credit card was charged the day they contacted me to confirm my purchase. After I contacted them via email, I got a response in about a day. The reporesentative wrote an incredibly vague email, lackadaisical at best, which would make one question whether they are building the computer to the specs with which I ALREADY purchased. I bought the computer with the AMD 3700 and the representative wrote an email saying that their technician requests I replace to the 3700 as it is "more stable." Why would the rep ask me to replace the processor to the same exact one I have already purchased?! Again, the email was incredibly vague, and I wrote back immediately asking those questions. I waited another 4 days without a response, and emailed them again. I told them that I questioned whether or not they are building my computer at all, and they should contact me back soon. Again, I received no email or telephone call from them another week later. So, I called them with the intention of having them refund my money (again, they charged my CC 2 1/2 weeks before I called). I talked to a gentleman, who sounded very inept and incredibly rude. He told me the lady didn't know what she was talking about, and that it was a NEWER AMD chip that operates at a lower wattage. Well, I'm glad to FINALLY know this now. The gentlemen said that she didn't know what she was talking about, as she knows nothing about computers. WOW! That's good to know that they hire people who know NOTHING about what the company sells. Not to mention that they failed to take the initiative to contact me about the problem in the first place, and return my emails at ALL. If they lack the communication at the company to directly state to the customer what the problem is, hire sales reps that know nothing about computers, and never take the time to mail you about any issues, then one should AVOID the company like the plague. One would only extrapolate how well the product would be built, and whether it would be built to WHAT you bought - in my case, already BOUGHT! I asked to refund my money as soon as possible, without any excuses. The gentleman said he would do that. I furthered asked for a cancellation number of some kind which he did not provide because he said there wasn't any. I was very nervous about my 1600 not being refunded, as they didn't give me a cancellation number and told ME to contact them in the next 2 days to make sure that the money was refunded. WHAT?! I immediately contacted AMEX to dispute the charge and cover myself just in case they were attempting to keep the cash for as long as possible. Of course, AMEX was very curteous and told me that they will get my money back no matter what. In short, purchasing from ViciousPC is not a very savvy move. I implore you to not purchase any product from them and go to a more reputable company to buy your PC. Even IF the more reputable company is more expensive. They said that nothing good comes cheap, and ViciousPC is a prime example of this scenario. This review was modified by its author, lifestatistic, on

We are sorry that you had a bad experience with our representative. We welcome all suggestions and criticisms to refine our procedures so we can better service our customers in the future. However, we would also like to take this chance to clarify the situation. The order was placed online on March 27, which is a Sunday. The order was confirmed by our representative on Wednesday, March 30, and at that time, informed you that it normally takes around 7 to 10 Business day before it is ready for ship out. On April 7, we received an email from you stating that one of our representative told you more than a week ago saying that your notebook would be shipped out the next day. Sir, there must be a miscommunication here, as the call that you referred to must be the aforementioned confirmation call. Nonetheless, our representative email you right be and informed you that we are replacing your CPU. Again, there is some confusion here. Our representatives DO know what they are selling. We did not make a mistake on the CPU that you ordered (3700+). However, AMD had just released the new low-wattage (3700+) and out of courtesy to our valued customers, we offered to switch that CPU in to increase the performance of your notebook. The next thing we know is that you call on April 13 and wanting to cancel the order which we happily obliged on the same day. In doing so, our representative being extra careful, had ask you to double check with your credit card company in a couple of days to make sure the transaction had gone through. Again, somehow it got lost in translations and you "thought" that we are not refunding you. Today, our customer service supervisor had also contact you and discussed the entire situation with you. We hope that by now we have resolved the differences. Again, thank you for your input. We will continue to improve our services. |
