My Tivo started going crazy on a Sunday morning. I googled "Tivo Repair", and emailed the resulting companies. I was suprised to get a response from Weaknees about 30 min. later, with a diagnoses of a failing hard drive. The others took 2 or 3 days, and just said "send it in, and we'll fix it". I ordered a replacement hard drive,which arrived quickly,and had the old one replaced in 15 min. I hooked it back up, and the unit is working like new. I have 2 other Tivo's that I plan to upgrade through Weaknees.

Well, being the pessimist that I am I was very dubious about purchasing my DirecTV disk upgrade from you since I found you from Google and had no previous knowledge of your business. After reading your entire website I was impressed by how thorough it was so I nervously made a purchase of my 160gb upgrade even though I feel that the cost is high. But then how else can I get a tivo disk upgrade?
Three days later your package arrived via UPS. I installed the new disk in about 10 minutes, the instructions were easy to understand and I cleaned the interior of dust and then held my breath while I turned my receiver on. I was amazed that my DirecTV TIVO worked perfectly the first time. Absolutely NO PROBLEMS. WOW! What can I say except THANK YOU for your great service and the great product upgrade for my Tivo.
Anyone out there wondering if they should upgrade, my response is DO IT. These guys really do know how to make a great product and make customers happy.

You can't lose with these people. They know TiVo better than TiVo themselves. They have modestly priced extended warranties for the hardware (far cheaper than any other I've seen) and even offer upgraded units and they REALLY know the product. Free ground shipping is hard to complain about. This was actually my second purchase from these fine folks, I purchased an upgrade kit for my older TiVo from them a few years back. That was also a painfully simple transaction! If you're in the market to purchase/repair/upgrade a TiVo, this is the place to go.

Highly recommended! I purchased a 300GB replacement hard drive for my 3-year-old DirecTV TiVo and was up and running in about 10 minutes. Shipping only took 4 days and was free! I'm impressed.

I was able to use Weaknees' support forums to diagnose that my DirecTivo had a bad power supply. While DirecTV was no help, it was very easy to order the correct part from the Weaknees web site and I had a fixed unit within 3 days - which not only was cheaper than getting a new unit from DirecTV, but also allowed me to save all of my recorded shows.

It was my first installation of that type and I was anxious. One of the plugs was very tight and I was reluctant to force it. The customer service was just right. They were responsive, patient, and never talked down to me. They realize their customers have a wide range of electronic component experience. Big thumbs up.

Customer service was EXCELLENT, communication via phone and e-mail SUPERB - I would highly recommend WeaKnees for any Tivo service and will definitely do business with them again.

When my 750 GB TiVo crashed from a lightning strike, the "guys with the WeaKnees" -- stepped up and did ALL the right things to fix the situation as quickly as possible. And, rather than chance a half measure, they replaced the whole unit, not just the hard drive.
Their personnel were generous with their time,
responded quickly to all my e-mails, and were most expeditious in their service -- I had my TiVo back in its place in less than a week. and that's all anybody can ask for in any customer service
situation.
Oh yeah, and... now I've got a batter-back up UPS. Duh.

Great service! I ordered a replacement hard drive for my DirecTV TiVo when mine died and I was amazed at how quickly my order shipped. The order tracking system is awesome and it
was really easy to install the new drive. I had never done it before but the instructions were clear and now I'm so happy to have my old Philips machine again.

Thrilled with everything...quick to ship; arrived on time; product and instructions were exactly as promised. I swapped out the drives in about 10 minutes; had the TiVo up and running again (recording) in less than 60 minutes including the guided setup. I would recommend this to anyone! What they promise is what they deliver, period. My only regret is that I didn't buy a bigger drive!!!

Purchasing the replacement hard drive and cooling fan from this company was as painless as any online purchase I have ever made. The information provided on their website easily directs one to the various options available and clearly explains the various attributes of each. The order, including tools to make the disassembly/reassembly, was shipped promptly and arrived ahead of schedule. Replacement of the hard drive was accomplished in under 15 minutes mainly due to the very clear and understandable instructions provided with the order. When it was determined that I had ordered the wrong cooling fan, customer service was very courteous and helpful in assisting me to make the exchange for the proper fan. Everything works exactly as they said it would. This was a great experience all around and I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

Tivo 80GB 2nd drive expansion kit
Great experience. Website was easy to use and took me right to the kit I needed. Easy to order and arrived on time (UPS 5 business days). The kit was well documented and easy to install. I recommend weaKnees.com highly.

I had a wonderful experience with weaKnees.com. I ordered a replacement drive for my Hughes DirecTV TiVo unit that had begun to fail. After self-diagnosing the issue, I called DirecTV to confirm my suspicions. At the suggestion of the DirecTV customer rep, I looked for a replacement drive on the internet. Google directed me towards weaKnees.com and my first impression was that I had stumbled upon a quality company. Their FAQ pages answered many of my questions so it was easy to make up my mind regarding what I needed to purchase. My purchase and installation experience has proven my initial feelings were correct. I ordered a 160GB replacement drive for my SD-DVR120, which yields 140ish hours of recording time. I received my order via UPS overnight the next day, and within about 20 minutes, I had removed the old drive, installed the new drive per the replacement instructions provided with the package. My TiVo started up just like it was factory fresh. After breezing through the on-screen set-up (standard with TiVo), I was recording TV just as I had been doing a day before. BRILLIANT SERVICE... FRIENDLY PHONE REP... SPEEDY DELIVERY... QUALITY PRODUCT. 11 out of 10!! Thanks for doing business the way I do business!
