Web site fails to mention that they are out of stock on the items I ordered. I get an email saying not to reply and that I can't cancel the order and the projected delivery date is > a month from the order date.
No way to contact them. The "contact us" information is just a run-around self help system that doesn't do what I want (cancel the order).
And they want to put my personal information with Amazon? Now why would I want that? I don't like Amazon and only delt with them once.
Target is off my list of on-line stores.

I purchased 3 volumes of the Twilight Zone. I ordered them on October 2. They arrived October 12th. Shipping did take a long time, but the price was unbeatable and the DVDs arrived in excellent condition. I did receive an email saying that my order could be delayed and arrive later than Oct. 10-11, which it did. Although my order was delayed I atleast give them credit for keeping me informed, though it would be much better if they gave this information before I placed the order.
I have two complaints with the website. One, theres still no logout option, you have to go to the home page and click "Not [name]", and this I believe will log you out. Secondly I keep getting their advertising emails, with special order codes. I tried the codes and they didn't work, therefore I've tried 4 or 5 times to unsubscribe from their mailing list. I still get these emails from them. It may auto-suscribe you by placing an order.
Overall I'm glad I placed the order from target, but because they get the items from amazon, it may be better to just go ahead and order from amazon. The prices are the same most of the time, and amazon has a better website. This review was modified by its author, nutbot, on

All and in a great store. Good selection and moderately priced. It's very conveniently located for many, mainly due to the numerous locations. More than Wal-Mart.
Haven't had too many problems. Buy lots of daily use stuff, some junk food, sometimes some games (game consoles), etc...
Haven't had any problems with the very few returns that I've done.

I've never really purchased anything from an actual Target store myself, but when I found an excellent price on an item I wanted on the Target website, I couldn't pass it up.
I have to say that the order went smoothly with absolutely no hiccups. The shipping was actually quite fast, and I had my item sooner than I had anticipated.
I wouldn't say I would frequent Target.com to shop, but I have nothing against buying from them again if I spot another deal.

I ordered a oak media cabinet and am completely pleased. The product was as discribed, less than I could find any place, and delivered quickly and in great shape. Overall, a really good comsumer experience.

Order a home theater system: Sharp AD AT-1000. Ground shipping arrived at the earliest of the possible arrival dates (5 business days).
Arrived in the factory box with new, unopened factory packaging, as opposed to reburbished sold as new (I've seen bad stories on here). Hooked it up and it works beautifully. This review was modified by its author, bleek, on

I ordered a table from Target.com on 5/20/2004. The order processed and I got a confirmation email that gave a delivery estimate of 6/6 - 6/20. I was pleased when it arrived on 6/1 until I opened the package, it was missing 2 legs. I immediately phoned the CS department and talked to a very professional and courteous rep. She told me that they would investigate and either send me two more legs or exchange the table. She advised me to call back in a week and check the status
One week later I called and talked to a different CS Rep. He was also very courteous and professional but gave me the same song and dance and advised me to check back in a week.
One week later I called and again talked to a different CS Rep. He was also very courteous and professional. I explained my situation and told him that getting very frustrated. He told me he understood and would ship out a replacement and send UPS to pick up the bad one. I asked how long this process would take and he replied 1 - 2 weeks. I laughed and told him to pick up the defective one and refund my money.
UPS picked it up on 6/17 and I was issued a full refund a week later. I am satisfied that I am not out any money but this was a pain in the butt.
I did find the same table at Linens and Things for a cheaper price.

order a hi-fi system on monday
i saw they cancel my order on tue when i logon to my account
cancel my order without sending an email
i don't mind the item is out of stock or else
they can just cancel customer order without drop a line
won't order from them anymore

Ordered a couple Creative Labs Muvo 2 MP3 players. Got confirmation order and everything. A few days after ordering, the estimated devliery time got moved out another 2 weeks. Not a huge deal. Though I recieved no email to state this and had to loggin to see this. Then 3 days later I loggin to check on the order again and its canceled now. No reason why, no email notification either, just canceled.
Horrible online retailer in my opinion. Will not do business with again, as this was my first time trying to do business with them. They do not communicate anything to you and just cancel your order with no reason given why, sounds like fraud to me.

12/22/03 update: Found a telephone number 1-800-776-4444 which lets you speak to a person regarding your target.com purchase. Apparently when I chose ground shipping, to them that meant Postal Service and not UPS or FEDEX ground. So as of right now, my package is not trackable and still hasn't arrived after 10 USPS working days.

It has been 10 days since my order on the 9th. I was told 3-7 days shipping (the 10th), with plenty of time for the holidays. As of today I am still waiting. I have been given a tracking number, but who knows what it means? It's definitely not a UPS, FEDEX, or Airborne number. It's not a number used by any of the sources given on their tracking page.
Site has a runaround feature that never allows you to find a telephone number to call. Also, Target.com's login feature is one of the worst in the industry. Not only does it keep asking for your password, even when entered correctly, but every step of the way has you re-entering information with every new page loaded. Ack! Horrible quality of Merchandise. Ordered a set of $150 TV Trays. The trays are poorly made and the stand is ridiculously poor quality when assembled.
Worse, when I gave the item a 2 star rating on their site (more than it deserved) they never posted my rating. Then when I saw someone else give the item a 4 star rating (previous average was 5 stars) the 4 star rating was only up for a day or two before they REMOVED that one TOO!
What nerve.

this is the second worst store ever!!! DOnt buy here people. NEVER think about buying here. The shipping is horrible. No tracking possibilities. The item will arrive before you can track it which will be in about 3 weeks.

Bought a birthday present (taken from Target.com order status) October 23, 2003 at 08:26 AM PDT. I figured with next-day shipping, I could have it on October 24th.
October 24th, it had not yet shipped. So I called, and the CSR said it would be shipping soon, and should arrive same-day or saturday.
Well, I come to find out that, four full days after placing my order, my 'next day' package has still not arrived, because unlike Fedex, UPS doesn't do saturdays. Nor was my package anywhere in the area to pickup on saturday.
If this wasn't my wife's birthday present (which was on the 24th), I'd send it back.

Long shipment delay, after I paid for 2-day. Both times I have tried to order from Target.com, aka www.fields.com, for Christmas or birthday gifts, and paying for express shipping, orders were delayed for many days. At time of order, items were listed in stock. By the time of delay notice, too late to order elsewhere!

I ordered a Table set from Target. The positive first the Customer Service people were very nice and helpful. The negative the first table I ordered had large chunks out of the side and corners. The replacement table had minor corner damage and a crack that ran 1/4 of the length of the table. I am not sure if the shipper did this (FEDEX or Eagle) or if their supplier is sending bad tables but its a nice table if it comes unmarked. Very unhappy with the quality of this product and I feel a little better dealing with competent CSRs. This is the dining set in natural finish with 4 chairs on sale for $259.
