Do Not use this site or their gift cards. They charge $9.99 shipping for tiny items and take a week to ship. A huge rip off!

This order was for an electric bike originally ordered on March 27th. The item showed (and still does as of this posting) shipping with 5-7 days. Today almost 2 months later I receive this e-mail.
"Thank you for shopping at Target.com.
Unfortunately, the following item is not currently available
from any of our sources.
"Mongoose Electric Springer Cruiser Bicycle - Red"
We must also apologize for the length of time it has taken us to reach
this conclusion. Until recently, we had still hoped to obtain this
item for you.
We have cancelled this item from your order.
Because you only pay for items when we ship them to you, your credit card
has not been charged for this item.
Therefore, we regret we will not be able to process your order. Your
order is now closed.
Please note: This e-mail was sent from a notification-only address
that cannot accept incoming e-mail. Please do not reply to this message.

Thank you for being a valued Guest. We hope you visit us again.

It appears they sell stuff then try to get it shipped. What a backasswards way of doing business. Target has not only lost me as an online customer but guess what brick and mortar store I will never shop in. I would understand if they informed of the situation in a timely manner, I could have ordered and received on somewhere else bye now. But 2 MONTHS! Pathetic!

Target online return process sucks- If you receive a gift bought online and you do not have the order number or receipt you are screwed

READ THIS BEFORE ORDERING THROUGH TARGET. I placed an order for $323 worth of merchandise and the lure was a $49 Bialetti Fusion Cookware set well below the price of other merchants. I ordered April 20, 2006 and much of the order did not even ship until April 28th.
The Bait & Switch (Bait & Wait?) cookware set was still on backorder and the worst part of this was attempting to access Target customerservice. I have never in my life encountered a less customer-friendly website. Go to www.target.com and see if you can find their customerservice phone number in less than five minutes...after finding the number, their people were friendly and useless in answering WHY THEY DON'T LIST THEIR LOSS LEADER COOKWARE SET AS "BACKORDERED" They also were unable to answer why it takes EIGHT DAYS to ship items that are in stock.
I sent several inquiries to TARGET CUSTOMER DISSERVICE and received auto-replies. I've used Smart Bargains, Walmart, Overstock and many other merchants and Target can be described in one term - HORRIBLE.

Purchased some jewelry. Package arrived quickly and well packaged. I buy several items each month online and would certainly consider them again for my future purchases. Thank you!

I ordered a laptop bag from Target.com, and after reading horror stories about the website, I was really excited when the bag came earlier then expected, until I found out they had sent me the wrong one. Luckily I was about to return it to a local store, however, the guy at the customer service desk was very rude and unhelpful, and Target didnt refund my shipping and tax, when THEY sent ME the wrong item...
Beware!!

Everything works like a charm, even easier than buying from its local store.

On December 8th, 2005 I ordered a "Revlon Moisture Stay Paraffin Bath" as a Christmas present for my wife. Target's website showed the item in stock, but when I received their order confirmation it gave the estimated shipping date as January 20th, 2006!!! It didn't even list it as backordered or anything. Needless to say, I canceled the order. This is *THE LAMEST* experience I've ever had shopping online. Kudos to Target for a new benchmark.

Target store in Austin Minnesota provided me with an inept teller causing me to make two credit card transactions instead of one. During the original purchase, the teller took too much time and the system totalled the charge before the teller could find the barcode on the last purchase item. The teller could not backup the transaction. I was left with two options. 1) a separate transaction for the remaining item or, 2)reverse the entire previous transaction and start all over again. With as much time as it took to do it the first time I certainly wasn't going to wait for them to reverse the original sale.

Ordered on Sept. 30, 2005 with expected delivery Nov. 12, 2005. Received an e-mail on Nov. 12 stating they have cancelled my order as they don't have the product in stock. Waited 6 weeks for a product I never received and could have bought somewhere else in the mean time. Does not give me a good feeling about making online purchases at target.com

Preordered a game from Target through their website as one of 3 choices. The game was released on the 27th of September (I saw it in few other stores on the shelf). I called them on October 4th to cancel, and they told me they would "try." I got a notice 2 hours later stating my order had shipped via UPS ground (package shipped at 8:30PM magically two hours after my call). Well they use some half assed shipping service where UPS and USPS get together. It shipped through UPS and arrived at a USPS distribution center in my city, at which point USPS sat on it for over 4 days. Their customer service is a joke, the shipping is 3 times slower than UPS ground, and they don't ship products in a timely manner.

Finding and ordering items from the Target website was fairly easy and straightforward. Shipping options at checkout are limited. Apparently Target is affiliated with several other merchants (Amazon.com for one), so not all items ship directly from Target run/controlled facilities. This means that if several items are ordered, the option to ship all items as a single package probably won't be honored if selected. It also means that there is no way to select a specific shipping carrier as the warehouses various items are sent from could be anywhere.
My packages arrived poorly packed (not the carriers' fault). The boxes were barely taped shut and on one box the sealing tape had completely missed the top seam on the box. The individual item boxes inside looked like they had been through hell. Crunched corners, wear and tear, and even a missing manual. The items looked like they were all store returns or floor demos, hastily reboxed and sent out. While I like the pricing and selection Target offers, I doubt I would order online from them again.

I ordered a Firenzy Outdoor Fireplace as a birthday gift for my brother. I placed the order, it was to be delivered on 8/24/05. I later tried to locate my order online, but it would not show up. I had to call the day it was suppose to be delievered. Target informed me that they cancelled all orders for this item because the supplier could not get them in time. They sent no email informing me of this and offered no other suggestions. So much for my birthday gift.
