Placed an order for ASUS Z96J with T7400 Merom processor on Tuesday evening, 8/22/06. Received the laptop on Friday, 8/25/06!! Ultra fast and courteous service through e-mail.
My only regret is that I didn't wait an extra week. The day I got my laptop via UPS, their price on T7400 Merom went down by $100.00!! D'Oh!!
Oh, and they forgot to install a sound driver, which is no biggie. Overall, I am very satisfied.
Highly recommend these folks if you want an exellent ASUS laptop.
Excellent service! I had to return my laptop becuase of a wine spill on my keyboard. Eddie shipped and cleaned my machine and replaced my keyboard. I just had to pay for shipping and the new keyboard! I'll say it again, *wonderful customer service* Every company should have Eddie's standards! :)
Also, I must add that shipping was easily upgraded, and he was very prompt with answering any questions that I had.
Bought a year ago and it still works great! Shipping was quick and all emails were replied to quite promptly. Just recently the audio on my notebook (Z70V) died and so I RMA'd it. They fixed it and shipped it back quickstyle while also cleaning my screen and fixing a loose monitor hinge that was bothering me for the past couple months! Nothing less than excellent service.
This store was wonderful to order from, I really could not expect any better service. First off, I ordered on a Tuesday night at like 9 PM, and it was already shipped by the next day. Not only that but it arrived on Friday. 3 days to have it to my house is really fast.
Also, I have to comment on how good the customer service was. I was worried that when I ordered my laptop, it was already sold out, so I emailed Eddie. Wow, I got an email back in like 15 minutes saying it was shipped and I was good to go. Not only that, but he was a really great guy and the other emails I sent to him were replied in a very quick amount of time.
So therefore, I would highly recommend doing business with Geared2play, it really was what you want from a company. And about the hardware, I bought a W3J and it was fully working and it is still amazing.
I bought a whitebook laptop from this store and would not only buy again, but I've already told all my friends about the positive experience. Eddie called me to ask if I really wanted a certain model, as it was discontinued (yes, I knew that). He then scoured the country to fill my order. Meanwhile, I changed my mind. He immediately refunded my Paypal account. I then called him with questions regarding the newer model. He answered each one and added helpful suggestions. I bought it, it was built and shipped quickly, and I couldn't be happier. Eddie made a customer for life.
I ordered a Z96J from Eddie. Other sites didn't even have the notebook in stock, and certainly didn't match his prices. I recieved my notebook in five days, and am completely satisfied with my purchase. Next time I need a notebook, I'm going to go straight to Geared2Play.
Eddie was extremely helpful and easily reachable whenever I had a question. The laptop is beautiful and it came in 4 days!!! I would recommend this store to anyone, great expierience so far.
Ok, shipping was real fast I guess. I ordered z62f on 05/26 and had it delivered on 05/31 (esp. that Monday was a Memorial day). The notebook seems what it should be, there are no dead pixels and it works fine so far.
There were no issues in contacting and getting (maybe not the friendliest)feedback on questions and issues and prices are reasonable as well.
However, please be advised that you don't really get what you expect and they could be more honest with that. So here's my follow up with what they guys have missed out from the review regarding Z62f.
Palmrest and the bottom get really, uncomfortably hot speakers are virtually nonexistent and disappointing
DVD is also noisy; and recording speed very slow (took 11-12 minutes to record 700MB audio CD!
and besides you never really know what you get there. Eddie argues it's just DVD RW, however, all the properties indicate it's DVD RAM. on the outside it says "Multi Burner". So, good luck in figuring out whatever your Z62f will come with.
The casing is made out of plastic (not the best quality I've seen).
built in web cam is just a toy and don't really count on that
(it still remains mystery whether its 0.3 or 1.3 mega pixels as different sites and reviews state differently.
Below the webcam it says "MEGAPIXEL". which is quite strange (why wouldn't that put the number there? I suspect it's only 0.3 (similar strategy to cell phone manufacturers, who put "VGA" instead of actual number).
In sum, the notebook is quite bulky. heavy compared to the majority of 14 inch laptops out there and it is sad that customers are not provided with more honest review and description of the product.
Do not buy this laptop if you are into design and neat staff. you will be dissapointed. However, you you are into horsemachine, that can be upgraded easily, Z62f is for you and geared2play.com is the best place to get it.

This site is called resellerratings not notebook ratings. This all started with you being extremely unhappy that now your brand new notebook is 100$ cheaper then it was one week ago. Sorry but that is the nature of the business.

Reply: The correct statement is that it gets warm on the bottom and the palm rest gets mildly warmer then the rest of the laptop. The hard drive is under the palm rest.
You stated: cd burner is slow.
Reply: I tested it and it does burn at the advertised specifications. Are you by any chance comparing it to your desktop burner or perhaps you burned at a slower speed?
You would like for us to be more honest with what? The fact that EVERY and i do mean EVERY mobile intel pentium m or dual core powered notebook we sell gets warm in places that are expected to generate heat? Is this what you would like us to write on every single notebook ad? I will have to consult on this. I believe you were comparing this to a toshi laptop. Toshi being the worst rated for support and product quality? Worst reliability for manufactured drives too. You may be right about the camera. I checked if it works in my review that's about it. I don't argue its a dvd-rw i am telling you its a dvd+-rw. Take it out and read the part number then type it into google. Heavy notebook? Interesting how the ad lists both height width and depth and the weight. It always did. The strange part is that the majority of 14" laptops out there in the same price range share the same exact dimensions. Bought an Asus W3J laptop from Geared2Play and had a terrific experience.
1st, they offered a free shipping and $100 rebate offer to pre-orders, which was better than other stores. 2nd, they kept me informed of the estimated arrival date of the laptops from Asus and then shipped it out to me the same day they arrived at Geared2Play. 3rd, I got my package the very next day (I'm in CT and the store is in NY) and it was packed securely and in perfect shape.
This was my 1st purchase at Geared2Play and I'll be back!
Bought a barebones Z33ae and opted for the free 256mb ram upgrade. They were out of the ram upgrades... so they gave me a free DVD-RW drive!
