I was a bit nervous ordering an expensive computer with complicated upgrades (including the OS!) online, but was more than satisfied with btotech.com!! I ordered an ASUS U6Sg-A1 with several specific upgrades including removal of Vista and installation of XP Pro, a speedier processor, a new hard drive and additional memory. I also asked for a different shipping method and paid extra for faster setup (within 48 hours). Eddie himself confirmed my order, and replied to my emails in just hours. This was one of my best online shopping experiences ever. The computer arrived much faster than expected and was set up perfectly with no bloatware included. They even included a recovery disk with my new OS! I know from extensive shopping around that I got the best price available. The computer was beautifully repackaged and extra items I ordered were safely enclosed. I can't say enough about the quality of the work and the overall experience. I will do all my future computer shopping here. Best selection, best price and flawless, speedy service. Can't ask for any more than that. Thanks, Eddie and team!! (By the way, the computer itself is a wonder and I highly recommend it as well!!)

I spent several months looking into a replacement for my old occasionally-intermittent laptop. Reputation and reviews led me to Asus and BTOTech. After Eddie promptly answered a series of emailed questions, I narrowed it down to the 14.1" S62E and the not-yet-available 13.3" S37E barebones. Intel (or Asus) apparently had problems with the S37; when it finally became available it was the S37S with nVidia graphics, etc., which I did not need or want for my Linux-based applications. So I went with the S62E, which BTO shipped immediately. Everything was, and has been, perfect. The only minor discrepancy was a 3945ABG wireless card because the faster 4965AGN I had ordered had become temporarily unavailable from the distributor. Eddie offered several options (refund, wait, etc.) -- I waited, and BTO sent one when they became available. Overall I've been very pleased with BTOTech and highly recommend them. I have purchased a customised Asus V1S from BtoTech, and overall would like to comment that this was one of my best online shopping experience ever and I am very very satisfied with their service and after-sale support. I requested the top specs and all was performed well with delivery on time. What impressed me most though is the way the guys provide the aftersale support - when I faced some OS issues (slow boot time in Vista 64)after a month after purhchase, Eddie responded and started working on my problem straight away. The guys used online Citrix connection to go inside my PC to check and reinstall all the drivers. Eddie is always quick to respond and provides good help. I agree that sometimes their responses are somewhat brief and technical, but always very straightforward and easy to follow. Overall, I am extremely pleased and satisfied with the service and will definitelly be coming back to Bto and would recommend it to anyone. Great job guys!

(Asus C90s-custom) I must first say that I am completely satisfied with the way the deal went, the quality of merchandise and I am thankful for the assistance and support I got throughout the transaction. I will elaborate below:
- I was placing an overseas order and my first question was 'how?', so I e-mailed them and received a "have a look in our FAQ" reply. Let's be honest, I well deserved that, that's why FAQ is there in the first place.
- having mentioned the overseas order, I must say that not only it was overseas, but it was somewhat peculiar, involving a very specific paperwork, and that was done to my entire satisfaction and I am grateful for that.
- the biggest turn-off is the way I was treated at first, but as correctly described by Eddie somewhere earlier, they DO get a lot of casual browsers never meaning any businees, so the chill greeting is well understandable, but not entirely justified. Once I got past the initial contact and into finalising the deal, the responses were quick and to the point, however somewhat brief. Some allowance should be made for non-english speaking customers, as we may not necessarily be familiar with the slang
- I've chosen the top specs so it took a little longer than expected to get a CPU, but I was promptly notified where delay came from and when they will get the part
- worth mentioning is the fact that original Asus power supply adaptor, which is know to be underpowered, was swapped by the store to a bigger power one without any charge or without even asking for it
Bottom line - one of the best i-net purchasing experiences I've ever had. I highly recommend this outlet to anyone interested and I myself am looking for the next laptop upgrade when I will no doubt first turn to btoTech.com
Thank You

It is hard to filter out dozens of emails daily from Africa, Singapore, Indonesia, uk, Russia, south America and so forth. Most international inquiries are a waste oif time. 1 in 50 results in an order on a good day. Most are looking to use their international credit card others are looking to send you a fake check and an array of other methods that all result in fraud. We assume international inquiries are fraud unless the customer
1. Reads the faq
2. Read the product pages and is familiar with the product
3. Is willing either to send paypal where it is accepted or send wire.
Its a step process which works. Sure some legitimate customers may not want to send a wire or may not want to read the product pages. Those customers can shop elsewhere if our terms are not acceptable. Sorry for the brisk responses at first. You said it right. We do get a lot of request from people who are not willing to abide by our policies. Those overseas customers who are willing to accept our terms must go through the same "interview" as all the rest.

I am completely satisfied with the experience to date and would highly recommend this company to others. Not only did they deliver ahead of schedule but they also did the little things that make a difference such as creating a recovery disk. From answering my pre-purchase questions, to catching and pointing out my initial purchase error, to crediting my account in a timely manner for my mistake - the service was the best I ever experienced in the purchase of a computer and I have purchased over a hundred for myself, family, friends, and employees. Thank you btotech.com

I have ordered two laptops,
keyboard, and battery from this company. I like the personal service, they take the time to explain. Eddie is about quality, and not about making a sale....I like that I can trust him to sell me what I want..or need..

Very quick shipping and service (customer service replies were within 24 hours). Product came well packed and in working order.
The comments about customer service being a little short (or perhaps even mean) seem to be a little true. Out of two conversations I had with the customer service one was congenial and the other (which was a technical concern with my battery) was short and didn't even really answer my question except in a round-a-bout "are you an idiot?" kind of way.
Nevertheless, it is a small outfit so they deal with a lot of questions (including dumb ones even if mine wasn't) and don't have time to response at great length. I wouldn't hold it against them.
GREATLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I ordered the same item from another place about a week earlier and never got it and never even got a response, I got the part from btotech within a week. THANKS GUYS!

I recently purchased a new laptop from btotech.com. They did an excellent job upgrading my ASUS G2S laptop with the three upgrades I ordered, and got it shipped out within a few days. The laptop had all the necessary drivers installed, and has performed flawlessly. I asked for and immediately received a duplicate invoice which I had misfiled by e-mail. I would definitely recommend ordering from this company.

Ordered and Asus S96S laptop with the cheapest CPU, but was notified that this CPU (T7100 dual core) was discontinued, and I can either upgrade (they offered a friendly price for that) or try to wait. I opted for waiting as I didn't need the extra CPU power. Then a week later I was told that they can't get hold of a T7100 and upgraded to a T7250 for free. I was very pleased, and I didn't mind the delay as they promptly notified me and kept in touch.

Ordered my laptop from BTOTech.com on the Friday before Labor Day weekend. Received my laptop on the following Thursday. The product was not customized but I was very impressed with the speed of shipping. The only problem with the order was that Asus dropped the price on the laptop I ordered and BTOTech.com was charging $80 less than what I paid by the time the laptop arrived. I discussed this with Eddie, of BTOTech, who said that it is store policy to not offer refunds after the product has shipped. Although a refund would probably be expected from a larger store, I am not complaining too much as BTOTech's prices are already a good $50 less, and Eddie offered me a $40 store credit. Overall, a very good experience.

Just wanted to correct a minor detail. I said "we do not have price protection after product has shipped". We do infact allow product returns after they have been delivered. I offered a 40$ store credit half the cost of the lower price |

Overall shopping experience was good - responses to questions were quick, and the purchase went through very quickly once we passed a couple of technical difficulties (from my end, since I was placing the order from overseas)
My only gripe I have with BTOTech/Geared2play is (as I believe has been brought up in other comments) that customer service is somewhat lacking in approachability. In other words, responses can sometimes be brusque making one feel unwelcome.
I know that the people working at BTO have a lot of experience at what they do, but when I had some technical issues after I got the laptop, I did not appreciate them hinting that the problem was possibly caused by installing AVG (antivirus), Zonealarm (firewall), and Firefox (browser).
True, sometimes software DOES cause problems, but just because they don't use firewall/antivirus/alternate browser doesn't mean that other's can't - and I certainly didn't appreciate their deleting my post explaining my reasons for using 3rd party software.
(for those who are interested, the issue concerned error messages that came up after installing drivers for the Intel Turbo Memory chip - and I resolved it by updating the BIOS)
Bottom line - I would say that they are trustworthy and quick to deliver (in terms of hardware). However customer support relations are also important for any company and that is an area they really need to work on.
EDIT: I am sincerely trying to remain civil but I believe that BTO's reply amply illustrates my point about "approachability". Note that I'm not throwing stones or otherwise trying to undermine credibility here - I did not say that you were slow to get a hold of, in fact I specifically stated that you are trustworthy and responded to questions quickly.
I'm merely commenting on the fact that your attitude comes across as making one feel unwelcome, particularly when I challenged your diagnosis of the issue.
I won't add anymore save to say that I did perform a clean reinstall of the OS without adding any 3rd party apps during the course of my troubleshooting (which did NOT work, whereas a BIOS update solved the issue). For those who are interested, I posted about the issue on the Asusforum site http://geared2play.com/phpbb/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1955 (if the thread itself doesn't get deleted as well) and if anyone wants to contact me for clarification I can also be PM'd at the notebookreview forums.

I belive the bottom line is that I gave you an honest opinion which said "user error". i also told you that the only way to fix user error was to reinstall the operating system and test it without any of your own software. You did not do that the first time however ultimately that is what turned out to be your issue. I deleted your post becuase you caught an attitude. In retailiation for deleting your post on our own forum you post a retaliatory comment here where I can not delete your post nor will i try. No problem.
We are very approachable. By phone, email, forum, instant message, live chat via website. In all we are online or phone over 80 hours a week. http://btotech.com/store/company/contact.htm
We do not smile in your face before you buy something only to turn away when you need help. We are there every step of the way however in your case you are free to seek the aid of people that are more approachable.

Ah ok so you did not post a negative comment on reseller ratings because your agressive post was deleted from our forum? That did not set you off? I must have been mistaken. If i made you feel unwelcome by having your single post deleted do you think that was my intention? I delete hundreds of posts every month.
