Arrogant, deceitful, and petty. This retailer acts as though they're doing the customer a favor, breaks their own promises, and can't handle disagreements professionally. In particular, they try to avoid the cost of shipping replacements for defective items.
The case I ordered was defective due to a crooked, misaligned seam. I sent them photos of this problem area, and they responded that "this case looks the same as any other," suggesting that I try to repair it myself. However, because this was due to the placement of a rivet, I requested a replacement, and they agreed. After they received the defective case back at their location, the manager called me and stated that now they would either send the exact same defective case back to me at my expense or issue a refund less the wire sleeving charge and original shipping. He also stated that it was "ridiculous" that a note I had included with the defective case asked that the instruction and catalog sheets (which they had badly wrinkled when repacking the case after sleeving) be exchanged since another case was to be sent anyway. Obviously I didn't want the same defective case back--I sent it to them for the agreed-upon replacement, not to pay shipping three times for nothing--and their desired "refund" would have cheated me out of almost $100 since I would be out the wire sleeving charge and shipping both ways, and still be without the case that I ordered.
When I reminded them that they had agreed to a replacement and asked why they had breached our agreement, their only response was that there was "nothing wrong with it," which was also their response BEFORE a replacement was agreed to and the defective case was sent back. The real reason was obvious: they did not want to pay for the shipping charge to send me the agreed-upon replacement, even though I had to pay to send the defective case back to them. Thus, they lied so that they could stick me with all of the costs involved in dealing with this defective case.
I asked if I could speak with anyone higher up, and was told that that the owner could be e-mailed. I came to find out that he answers most of the e-mails sent through the address on the website, and that when he wishes to insult customers without speaking to them directly, he hides behind this method of communication. A detailed e-mail that I sent to him about 12 hours after speaking to the manager was never answered, and a few days later I noticed a credit to my credit card account that was far short of what I was entitled to given that I simply wanted them to honor their word. I had again asked for the agreed-upon replacement, but was instead refunded less sleeving and shipping charges, as if I had changed my mind and asked for a refund. Since they unilaterally decided to issue one, a few days later, I ordered the exact same item from FrozenCPU.com, received it very quickly, and had no problems whatsoever.
As a result of their unethical, deceitful behavior, I had to initiate a chargeback. When the retailer learned of this, they revealed their true character via a nasty message (full text with authenticating headers available to Reseller Ratings) in which they used profanity, called me a "seriously mentally deprived individual," and stated that they had contacted other resellers to add me to a customer blacklist.
This is quite a contrast to my communications with them, all of which were businesslike, displaying the professionalism that they lack. Ultimately, my bank absorbed the chargeback because they didn't want to spend more time on the matter. Thus, while I didn't lose any money on this ordeal, it nonetheless caused much needless aggravation and wasted many hours of my time. The lesson here is that if you risk ordering from them, you'd better hope that there aren't any problems with the merchandise. This review was modified by its author, integrity01, on

Ordered Zalman ZM-STG1 thermal grease, Sythe Kama fan custom sleeved and Thermalright Ultima-90 heatsink. Order was filled same day 8/26/08, shipped UPS ground and received 8/29/08. All were well packed and the Kama sleeved nicely but the cheaper Ultra-90 heatsink sent instead. I could not contact them that day or the next (Labor Day weekend), but received an email early Tuesday 9/2/08 apologizing for the error and offering to immediately ship the Ultima-90 USPS Priority Mail & pay shipping both ways including the return of the Ultra-90. By 9/2/08, I had already got an Ultima-90 ordered on Sat 8/30/08 from another vendor so I asked if I could ship it back UPS Ground for a refund inc. shipping. They agreed and actually posted my refund as soon as I sent them the UPS tracking #. My feeling is that everyone makes a mistake now and then, but it is how you address it that counts. Performance PCs has a vast and often unique stock of PC components and is very responsive to customers as I have dealt with them before. Prices vary but are generally reasonable. The Ultima-90 was in fact the least expensive on the net and the Kama fan priced mid-range but included free custom sleeving. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

In todays age of ever increasing internet fraud, it is great to know that there are businesses and companies that still exude nothing more than customer service.
Great communication, superfast shipping internationally to Australia within 6 days make Performance-PCs make them an internet force to be reckoned with. Pure peace of mind.
Thanks for your superior customer service Hank. I will buy again.

Aug.2008 - I placed my first order with Performance PCs in May of 2008 - kind of late in giving them their props. It was a very small order that I placed based on their rep with the techie community. Went great. If you need Lian Li or other case accys, this is the place to go. .bh.

This place is AWeSOME. I tell all my OCing freinds in Canada, since we have no local shops to meet our needs. We love the idea that 90% of needs can be filled at one place.
Some of thier prices are higher than others, but when you spend 4-5 grand a month on this stuff, it's really nice to find most in one place. Sevice is fast & friendly, with great telephone access. They call promptly if there is a problem.
Shipping is fast & well packaged with lots of peanuts to keep things in place.
The only con - my bookkeeper says the shipping calculator for our area is off a bit & charging to much.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Performence PC's to anyone!!!

I was very happy with the level of communication I had with this company while I was making and adjusting this order. I did have to make a change during my order because the product I wanted was not in stock. My only critisim of them would be to better show what items are in stock. However they were very helpful in keeping me informed on when it would be in stock. I would certainly order again from them!

Have made ~ 10 or so orders from Performance-PCs over the past month.
The Good:
Fast shipping - products usually arrived at my doorstep 2 days after the purchase with standard shipping options from USPS or UPS.
Great selection - probably the best selection of any of the reseller sites I was using for a recent water cooling build
Could use some improvement:
Somewhat difficult to get ahold of at times - though the turn-around time on email questions was usually good, its about a 50/50 chance of getting someone on the phone. (they do make note of this on the website though)
RMA's - I have had 2 RMA issues on parts I ordered. Both of which I was referred to the product manufacturer to deal with, which was a bit disappointing. They were helpful on the 2nd one though, by forwarding my info to the manufacturer and staying in touch with me about the process.
The bad:
Price - in general, almost all of the products I ordered were ~10-15% more from Performance-PCs than other similar shops (but because you can get almost everything you are looking for in once place, you might find its about breakeven price-wise by saving on shipping from multiple sites).
I had a couple of other minor issues over these multiple orders (ordering 10 wire clamps, only getting 6) but overall, I would definitely recommend PPC's. Customers should just pay close attention to their RMA policy as well as the RMA policy of the parts' manufacturers ahead of time, and be comfortable with email as the primary form of contact.

Items arrived as ordered including the correct sleeve/heatshrink colors. Excellent! Shipping fee (international) was a little bit high but packaging was very secure and it got shipped in the same day, so I think it was just fine. Will definitely buy from again. Excelent online store. My order was shipped in the same day.
Price is not that low, but they do ship overseas, which is great for me, since I can't find some itens here.
The postage service is way too overpriced. Paid like US$16 and it only did cost US$5.40. Even with handling and some other costs (fees), its 3 times higher than the stamp price.
[Edit]
After sending a message regarding this shipping price, they promptly offered me a refund.

Please be aware that Performance-PCs does not have an RMA telephone number, nor do they do RMAs via fax--strictly via e-mail. I made several attempts through their website and via e-mail to obtain an RMA number, with no success. It took almost three weeks, after calling their sales department for help, to finally get someone to assist me. And, after all the frustration, I was still unable to obtain an RMA number. I was referred to the manufacturer's RMA department. I will not make any future purchases through this retailer. Also, shipping took a considerable amount of time for regular ground priority. It took eight days for the package to arrive at my doorstep. I am very dissappointed with this company and the way it does business.

Order received, however, after multiple attempts for a RMA; sales claims that: "order only what you plan to keep " &
Only 1 email a day for mod/sales information?
Isn't the sales dept designed for customer information, esp with RMA information, which wasn't presented; when delayed or reply absence occurs, 1 doesn't know if their mailbox system is out or etc.
For some reason, the following term is being overlooked by whoever, is answering the emails, lately:
If you are not satisfied with your component purchase, you must contact us within 3 business days of delivery to be eligible for a refund or exchange This review was modified by its author, tjack2, on
