This is my first purchase with Digital Direct and I was very pleased with the service and selection.

There was an initial problem with the credit card billing, but the company rep. was courteous and took care of it. Online ordering was very easy and the price was great.

I ordered a Nikon Coolpix 5000 from BuyDigitalDirect and so far it has been a good experience.

Online order went smoothly. Received order confirmation, but no shipping confirmation.  
 
On June 3, 2003, I called dealer to inquire about my order. Was told they needed a special access code from my credit card. I think they can collect this during the order process rather than delaying my product shipment by five days before getting the code.  
 
Product was shipped out June 5 (another 2 days after my inquiry) via Fed Ex 2-Day, courtesy of dealer in an effort to make up for lost time. Although I appreciate the gesture, for some reason my product did not arrive at my home until June 9. FedEx seems to have admitted culpability, as they have not charged the shipper any delivery charges. I, however, could have driven to NY and bought my camera and returned to FL in the time it took to get this product: A total of 11 days.  
 
When I took my delay to the attention of Digital Direct's CEO, he did try to take action to correct my delay. However, his efforts depended on timely shipping.  
 
Firm is pleasant enough to deal with, but really needs to address fulfillment issues.

This purchase went very smoothly. They had the best price including 'free' shipping (to within $1) on the web, and they shipped by Fed-Ex second day (premium service). They took special care to gaurd against fraud or theft: they called my daytime contact number to verify the three digit reference on my credit card, and they force the recipient to sign for the package - no signing a release and leaving teh package. This last item was a nuisance for me, as I live in a very secure place, and I would have been happy to have the camera left at my doorstep. It is reasonable, however, for them to sue this extra security precaution to ensure goods are delivered to teh purchaser. I will use this vendor again if I ever ahve teh need to.

They sell straightforward products at a fair price, no gray market stuff. I got a hard push on additional products and warranty even after I said I didn't want any. Their restocking fee is high but the people are easy to work with. I found some better prices but their shipping wasn't too high. A lot of these guys operate multiple web sites while using the same back room. I noticed these guys have at least two sites, buydigitaldirect and butterflyphoto. The prices are slightly different but the web pages are exactly the same. I didn't know this until after my purchase and I strongly disagree with this practice.

Very pleased with order process, except for "soft sell" of additional equipment. Total cost (for camera AND memory cards) was lowest found. Shipment arrived--complete--two days after order was placed. I would buy from BuyDigitalDirect.com again.

Purchased a Canon S400 digital camera by e-mail. Next morning I received a courteous phone call from Mike to verify my order. I opted to ship by UPS ground to save shipping costs. Received the shipment 5 days later, including weekend. As the shipment came Fed Ex 2nd day it appears that there was a problem to ground ship immediately. So, to honor their intentions for receipt of their shipment within a week they air shipped. My complete order arrived, well packaged.  
As I was impressed with the delivery performance of the 1st camera order I just completed a 2nd camera order from Mike at BuyDigital Direct for a graduation gift.

Ok, I had a bad experience with a sales representative of this company at FIRST. I made an initial review out of anger and disgust on this company and now I'm going to edit it because they actually came through. The customer service manager (His name is Michael, damn forgot his extension (maybe 200?) but if you get any issues ask to speak with the manager Michael) of this company called me back right now and was very apologetic about all of my issues, and he says he's read all of the emails I've sent (even though they don't reply right away I guess they read'm so if you have issues send'm) and he upgraded my shipping so it would have gotten in by the day I needed, and also threw in a free cleaning kit for my digital camera for all the troubles!  
 
I'm changing my rating around for this company because in the end, the boys who matter for the company came through! Thanks!
