I am taking the time to write this to let someone know about my great customer service experience from Nick Aulich at Tech For Less. I have been looking for the Sony 52v4100 for the last couple of weeks. I am located in Pueblo, Colorado and discovered your site on Friday evening. I called your customer service number Saturday morning and right away was greeted by a friendly sales associate named Nick. I wish I read the reviews on this site BEFORE buying from TechForLess. My story repeats what others have already experienced; after an initial call to arrange an exchange of products nothing but silence from TechForLess. Repeated phone calls and emails go unreturned and/or unanswered. 100% Satisfaction Guarantee??? Maybe they were talking about their own satsfaction because they sure don't appear to care one lick about customers. The only good news is that a business that pays no attention to its customers will eventually go under....

Have sent four emails and left two VM for TechForLess. I am trying to obtain a Return Authroization Number to return a product. Their guarantee period is 30 days; and I feel that they are not responding so the 30 days will lapse, and then what do I do. I have never had this nonresponsiveness from any company I've dealt with on line. I feel I am being scammed.

Problem resolved. Tech for Less customer service (Derrick) contacted me regarding the issues with our laptop. He appologized for the situation and let me know they could refund our money or do an exchange. We opted to exchange the laptop for a higher line Lenovo. Plus they agreed to meet us halfway on the difference. So we spent more with them but came away with a better deal. Apparently the customer service esponse was because Tech for Less marketing keeps an eye on these posts.  
 
As another review mentioned it looks like Tech For Less customer service (CS) isn't answering their phone at this time. CS phone rings several times then rolls to voice mail. Waiting to hear back from them still. Also have attempted to contact customer service by email. CS Web form didn't work either. Noticed on the job boards they were looking for a CS manager for Colorado. Perhaps this is root cause of their recent rating decline. Regarding our problem: We received an HP/Compaq laptop as expected on-time delivery and at a fair price. However it had a hardware problem right out of the box and later BSOD twice. HP wants it back for repair and sent us a box but we decided to return it and upgrade instead. Surprisingly sales emailed promptly when an order for a second laptop was halted. But CS has not gotten back to us yet about the return of our first laptop order. I have had good service from them in the past. Purchased a PDA and monitor from them without issue except for packaging and minimal documentation as others have also noted. Would like to continue to do business with them as my friends have had good luck with them too but if they don't live up to their 100% satisfaction guarantee I would not be inclined to recommend them.

The order was received fast, but it was the wrong item (the sealed box, however, was identical to the box of the right item, same model number). We wrote to their customer service about this and they issued us a label to return it. We asked for replacement, and also asked to open the box to double check it was the right item. They checked it and sent us the item we originally wanted. It's all nice and working now.

Not answering the phone. Neither today or yesterday (3/12,3/13).  
Was sent the right camera with the wrong lens. I returned it (via Katie), and they sent the wrong camera, with the right lens. They said (Jesse) they would return the original camera and I should swap out the lens with the package I have now. They have not sent back the original camera, have not sent a return label for the one I have, nor do they answer the phone any longer. I left 3 voice mails yesterday, and have allowed it to ring through to the operator today for almost an hour. Do you think they have caller blocking software? 1-866-880-1230 Perhaps I should try calling from a different phone. Will keep you posted.  
Update:  
They finally answered the phone. "I don't know" when asked about my unanswered voice mails. Again I am promised (Jeremy) that they will send back the original camera and lens so that I can swap out the correct lens from the second package. We'll see.  
This is my second purchase from Techforless. The first went ok, the open box item was misssing one small part which I deemed unnecessary so I did not pursue the matter. This one is not going so good. I have been promised a tracking number by this evening. Will keep you posted.  
 
Update 2:  
Katie just CALLED ME. (12:55 EST). She says the correct camera with the correct lens is on the way (2nd day shipping)and I should receive the tracking number this evening. She also says I will receive a return label by email, but should keep the current camera until I receive the new one-"just to be sure". I told her "if that all happens I'll be happy as a clam". As I said above-"we'll see".  
I followed up my conversation with Jeremy this morning with an email to Techforless customer service reviewing what was said and a link to my review here. I don't know of course if that prompted the return phone call, but I don't think it could have hurt any. I at least seem to have their attention.  
More than anything, this is just so disappointing. They really seem like they want to be a good company. Will let you know.  
 
Update 3 (3/15/09 11:45 AM)  
Tracking number and return label emails received late Friday night. Package to arrive on Tuesday (3/17/09). Things seem in order. Will let you know Tuesday as to what they actually sent me.  
 
Update 4 (3/17/09)  
Success! Third time's the charm. Today received exactly what I should have received the first time. Everything included in like new condition. Warranty cards with matching serial numbers and everything. Some items seem to be repackaged, and the manual cover has a crease in it, so it is clearly an open box item, but everything is there and functioning correctly.  
 
A bit of a struggle, but I have to say TechForLess made good on the deal. The incorrect camera will be on the way back to them tomorrow and that will be the end of it. They are generally well reviewed here and elsewhere, so I guess we'll have to just chalk this one up as "just one of those things"-a momentary hick up as it were. Will certainly consider giving them another try at some point in the future.

I ordered an APC UPS that was listed as Factory Sealed. I received on in the original box but was clearly previously opened. It was tapped up with some tabs on the outside of the box instead of inside. There was no additional packaging on box to protect the shipment. The box was dented. I was concerned but fortunately the device works. Should have been listed as open box.

Techforless listed "factory sealed" batteries for an APC Symmetra for about 1/2 the price of the nearest competitor. Called, got native-English speaker who seemed very knowledgeable and confirmed they were genuine APC units. He said they were cheap because they didn't buy from APC, but from distributors & retailers who were overstocked / bankrupt / etc.  
 
They arrived TWO DAYS later, and were genuine APC, factory-sealed units. VERY HAPPY.

I ordered a Sony A700. My order was shipped promptly, however, I received the wrong product. I had to call over a two-day period before I spoke with a customer support representative. I was treated courteously by each person I dealt with over the phone. I received an RMA to return the wrong product within 24 hours of my phone call and the correct camera within 3 days. While it wasn't an amazon.com experience, I am more than satisfied and would likely purchase from this company in the future.

Ordered a Sony Alpha A350X package on 1/20. Received an order confirmation in 2 mins. Same evening received a shipping confirmation from Erik Anderson. Package arrived 2 days later in MINT condition.  
 
AWESOME EXPERIENCE OVERALL. WILL DEFINITELY BUY FROM THEM AGAIN.

No difficulty per se with order as it was delivered in a timely manner. Minor part was missing from the box & asked them to send it to me, although it did not impact the working of the wireless adapter. 2 attempts to contact customer service resulted in no response. Given the missing part, I suspected that the adapter was a return & not new. This was confirmed when I tried to register the adapter & eventually discovered from the manufacturer that the reason I could not register it was because it had already been registered to someone else. I have yet to hear from customer service & no longer expect to. I would definitely recommend not buying from this company.
