I was told by the salesman that I would be quite pleased with my purchase, and I was. I ordered an expensive light meter which arrived very quickly. It was mint, although the box was dented. Everything was in the box exept the instruction manual, which was easily downloaded from the Sekonic website.
So, I got a new light meter for the cost of a used one on the auction sites.
What a deal! Highly recommended.

Ordered a Panasonic Viera TH-58PZ800U TV (Factory Sealed) and received one that had clearly been opened/used. The remote was by itself with batteries installed and there was paperwork in the box indicating that the HDTV had been returned to another store due to "dead pixels". I refused the delivery and am working with a sales person to send a replacement (that unit of course is now OOS). They have been very cooperative regarding sending a replacement, but we'll see if the new set is new as advertised. Seems they have a lot of open-box/returned sets... Ordered a new sony t500 camera, and got sent a used one. The box had a sticker with another customers name and order # on it. Sent it back for a full refund and I am still waiting for it. Cant get in touch with anyone in service at Tech for Less to check status of the refund. Very unhappy, had to buy the camera locally for $100 more because i needed it for a gift. Frustrated at present. Tech for Less initially worked with me (to their credit) in taking back an out-of-box digital camera (Panasonic FZ30)that I simply didn't like the image quality for. I asked if I could exchange it for a digital SLR (Sony A200) and they immediately sent this out to me -- after sending me a prepaid shipping label for returning the initial order (FZ30). The Sony A200 arrived quickly, but was found to be defective. I sent them emails -- four so far over the past 36 hours -- and have called them twice. Still no response. I simply want to get a shipping label to return the defective camera and get a full refund (if I can). We'll see if they charge me a re-stocking fee. I was initially please with TEch for Less, but now am pretty disappointed. Hopefully they will contact me soon (it's now going on 48 hours). We'll see what happens. I'll post a followup soon.
**********************
Update: FINALLY got a live person (who knew how to help me) on their toll free line -- this was 5 days after I made my initial call and sent my initial email to them about the defective camera. She says they'll send me the return shipping label via email ASAP. She also noted that it will take 7 to 10 DAYS AFTER THEY RECEIVED THE DEFECTIVE CAMERA BACK BEFORE MY CARD WILL BE CREDITED! (Is this standard?)
I am pretty unhappy with this company, primarily because their after-sale customer service is inconsistent at best. I think they are simply under-staffed and dealing with many 'issues' with the 'open box' and 'resealed' products they peddle. They should have better customer service followup for when problems like this inevitably arise. After all, they are dealing with products that have been opened and/or 'resealed', so presumably there are problems to begin with. Open box and refurbished items CAN be a great deal, but there needs to be better in-house QA checks by Tech for Less BEFORE they send products out, and THEN better after-the-sale customer support! Two check marks, at best. This review was modified by its author, halcb56, on

I ordered and received a refurbished PS3 from TechForLess. The unit appeared to be in good condition but stopped working about three weeks later. I attempted to contact the company through the website, by email and by phone. I could not reach anyone. No one in customer service ever picked up my calls. About a week and a half after I first contacted them I got an automated response saying they'd send me a replacement unit. Well, I had changed addresses after my initial order and repeatedly contacted them telling them to be sure the replacement was sent to my new address. No response. Then I received a UPS tracking number for the replacement unit stating that the delivery address was in fact that of my previous residence. So, I had to wait out in front of my old place waiting for UPS in order to intercept the new PS3. Finally, I got the replacement unit and took it home. However, upon opening the box I discovered that they had sent me a broken, old, beat-up PS3. Its case was cracked, the power button worked intermittently and the USB ports didn't work. Now, I'm going to have to ship them the replacement unit back, get a refund and buy my ps3 somewhere else.
Do not order from TechForLess unless you enjoy sub par service and recycled junk for products.
Edit: I appreciate your reply, but perhaps if you spent less time responding to buyer feedback you might be able to answer the customer service line. This review was modified by its author, jpdeltoid, on

I located Tech For Less using the Bing search engine. Their price for a used condition Guitar Hero World Tour w/ Guitar for the 360 was extremely low -- with free shipping. I checked online store ratings and decided to take a shot. I immediately received tracking information via email. 3 days later, I received my game and guitar. The guitar worked perfectly, but the game was defective. I emailed T4L and received no response. The next day I called customer serve and got an answering machine. I called the sales number and asked to speak to customer service. I was connected to Ann. She apologized for the defective game and immediately sent out another copy. 2 days later, I received a brand new copy of GH:WT. While it may have taken some work to complete my purchase, all in all this was a very positive experience for me. This review was modified by its author, HitechH8, on

I bought "scratch and dent" camera that was supposently in great cosmetic shape and good working order with only some missing part. The camera was DOA, the lens will not come out. Multiple calls and emails to customer service, multiple promisews to cal back, no one did. The charge is being disputed with Amex and PayPal now. Why would a reputable place risk its rating for $41. Stay away....

I am horribly displeased with Tech for Less. My boss recently purchased an HP notebook and from the moment we opened the box it has been a nightmare. First, the notebook wouldn’t work properly because the product codes that were sent to us were not valid, with that being the case my boss asked me if I would return the product and get the money credited to the company’s credit card. I thought that was a fine idea, but so far I have called twice and both time I have been told that my return label will be sent to my email address and it has not, and now, for the past 15 minutes I have been trying to get a hold of Customer Service through the phones and each time I call I just get the voice mail and I know that doesn’t work because in the past weeks I have left multiple message and I have never gotten a call back. This whole ordeal has been a real disaster! This review was modified by its author, ndw2306, on

I am posting an update to my review. Today, I got a call from Jason (I guess President at Tech4less) and clarified my queries. RS means "Resealed" items and not REfurbished Stock. And on my query regarding the warranty, tech4less would stand by the product for one full year, if the manufacturer wouldnt support. However, I think, the manufacturer would support because, its not a refurbished item and yet to be registered product.
Thanks to Jason for clarifying.

I bought an open box Panasonic FZ-28 camera. I recieved it on July 28, 2009. I found all the parts in it to my knowledge, and was initially happy about the purchase. However, when I was inspecting the camera and the box, there were two 'stickers' pasted in it, that clearly read some testing has been done. There was also the characters "RS" - generally it is used to represent "Refurbished Stock". I have a strong thinking that this camera is a Refurbished one, when their website displayed that open box items are "new ones" with probably missing small parts. They also had refurbished ones in stock at the time I ordered, that sold for around $40 lesser. I did NOT want a refurbished camera, and paid for a open box camera. To clarify this, I tried calling several times to their absolutely unattentive customer service - everytime I left a VM for no one courteous enough to return back the call. I had sent couple of email too, to their customer service and order support mailboxes, but, as expected they didnt return the mail either. I even called the sales guy who helped me through the order, who appeared to be professional at the time of selling - his name is Vance, however, he too wasnt ready to help and wanted me to talk only to the customer service. Over and above this issue, I didnt find the warranty card in the box when their website and order confirmation promised one year warranty. I feel cheated. I wouldnt recommend for the following reasons -
a) The product that they sent, i think is a refurbished camera, while they charged me for open box item. Yet to be clarified.
b) Warranty information / warranty card not found in the box, when I confirmed the order only with 1 year warranty.
c) Most importantly, the unattentive customer service department who little care about returning calls.

I ordered an Xbox 360 20gig with an Open Box condition.
Sadly, only 8 days after getting my Xbox 360 it is already getting a Red Ring of Death. Thus making my Xbox as useful as the box that it came in. I personally find it frustrating that a company would deliver a product that would die so quickly. It is my hope that is company is able to resolve the issue in a timely manor... I will edit this entry once my ticket has been answered (Submitted June 22 ~9:00AM PST)
I would suggest users be wary of purchasing from Techforless.

Tech for Less always comes through. Even though I had a problem with the item in my order the return and replacement were smooth and easy. From the date I placed the order till the date I received the replacement item I've waited longer with some businesses to deliver the initial product. Will keep www.techforless.com in my Shopping Favorites

My Tech For Less experience was great. The ordering process was quick and easy. The shipping rate was very reasonable and took just three days to be delivered. I ordered an open box Sharp Aquos and was very pleased with my product. There was a minor crack in the outside casing along with a tiny dent on the top corner, but the screen, speakers, and everything else are in perfect new condition. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of the chords, along with the remote and manual, were still wrapped in original packaging. A Great deal. Thanks Tech For Less

JUNK. This company sales nothing but junk thats already been sold in other stores. Items that have been returned at Best Buy and other electronic stores. I've returned my TV 4 times already. In two months. I called to get my TV registered and Sharp told me it was registered 2 years ago. My TV was suppose to be an Open Box. New. Not refurbished. Junk. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.
