I ordered 2 sets of Luxury Spa Flannel sheets and a blanket. After a lengthy wait, they finally arrived. I washed the flannel sheets in cold water and they pilled so badly, I've never seen anything like it. Also, the color (taupe) changed and the pillowcase no longer match the sheets. I plan on returning the items ASAP. But, after reading the reviews, I'm afraid that I have ordered from a bad company and if I ever receive credit, it will be a long, drawn out battle. If I have to, I will contact BBB.
Placed an order for a pair of jeans. I cancelled the order, but then immediately contacted them to not cancel the jeans. I was told that it definitely would be processed, no problem. At the same time, the jeans had gone down in price by quite a bit to 29.99. They said they could give me a store credit for the difference, which I said was fine. I was going to use the credit to order another pair as a gift. Unfortunately, the credit never came and the next day, the jeans went back up in price.
A day later the original order mysteriously got cancelled because the item became "unavailable." I called back and they said none of those jeans are available anymore, and that they couldn't substitute a very similar pair from the same brand nor could they locate the ones that I had originally ordered... but that if they came back into stock, I could get it at the 29.99 price.
A day later, the exact pair goes back into stock (big surprise). I call in to order them: but I get the runaround, and the best they could do was to give it to me at the price I originally ordered at. Talking to the supervisor didn't help either. And All of a sudden, no record of the price difference/credit could be found.. another big surprise.

I ordered A trench coat from SmartBargains.com on a Saturday, that following Monday I found that the price had dropped $40.00. So I emailed them asking if I could get it at the new sale price. They said, "No." Instead they could give me a store gift card of forty dollars but they could not refund my credit card. On a separate occasion, I needed to return some drapes because they sent me the wrong size. After I received the drapes in the length I wanted, I noticed that they refunded me twice, an error in my favor. I emailed them to make sure they fixed it and that I was properly charged. Really disappointing that they couldn't return a good deed.

Dealing with returns at this company is a total nightmare. Buyers beware and know up front that they do not adhere to their own refund policies and generally have no way to inform you of what is happening with your return status no matter how much time has passed. Also, don't bother emailing any concerns because you won't get anything but a canned response. After repeated emails and phone calls for weeks well after their stated refund credting time period and confirmation via FedEx tracking that the items were received, I finally got a refund for one of the two items that were returned together. I started the email and phone chain again to get proper credit for the second item that was identical and in the same box only to get the same ambiguous, non-committment that I might get a status in 3-5 business days. I knew that meant I would have to call back in 3-5 days after hearing nothing and check on it again only to be put back in the same loop of no information or result. I gave up at that point and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It was a simple online form and worth the time and effort and I should have done it sooner - I received the remainder of the refund owed in a matter of hours. I will never shop here again and I would advise others to avoid this site given that there are so many other options with wonderful service.
The sheets became like sandpaper after 4 washings. I was told by customer service that this was normal wear and tear. They refused to take back the sheets, give me store credit or in any way help me with this matter. The sheets are clearly defective. I washed them according to instructions. In my 65 years of washing and drying sheets, I have never had a set that developed "pills". Sheets don't wear out after four washings. This is not normal wear and tear.
I will make no further purchases from this store.
I ordered some towel sets and sheets on Jan 17. I received a confirmation email saying that delivery would be on or before Jan 30. I felt that was a little slow but the price was good and I was in no rush so I was willing to wait. By Feb 5 I still had not received my items. When I checked my account on their website it still had a Jan 30 delivery date and no update on its status. I called Customer Service who was very polite but said they had to contact their warehouse to see what was going on and that I'd get an email back. It's now Feb 8 and still no email or update on status on their website. I do a majority of my shopping online and I've never had such poor service. DON'T BE LURED BY THEIR CHEAP PRICES. IT'S NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!
I ordered a cuisnart grinder. It was shipped to the wrong address. I called customer service and they argued with me about the address. I was then told that they would email me, after they contacted UPS. They did not. I had to change the shipping address. Then I got the package it was almost a paper sack (beat to hell). Part of that would have been UPS but there was absolutely no packing material in the box. Just the factory box in a much larger box. Suprise, Suprise, it was broken. They, theretically are refunding my purchase but this was the worst online order experience I ever had. I will NEVER order from them again. If you do, GOOD LUCK. More trouble than any savings you might get. Mine came in many more pieces than intended.
I ordered a 4 Pound Density 3" Visco Foam Mattress Topper from SmartBargins.com. There was no indication that the item was returned merchandise but when it was received it had obviously been previously opened.

I received an email from this co. stating that for a limited time an additional 15% can be deducted from my order. I proceeded to order $106.90 worth of goods while the 15% off was clearly stated on top of order, AND WITHIN THE ALLOTED TIME FRAME. After the order was processed, THERE WAS NO 15% DEDUCTED!!!! I immediately called this co. at 6AM but it did not open till 9AM. At 9AM, I called again and was told the discount didn't go through because I used my MSN browser!!! I then asked to cancel the order but was refused because cancellations must occur within one hour of placing order!!! So how could I if their store is closed???? TO ME THIS IS FLAT OUT FLAGRANT FRAUD!!! I WILL BE REPORTING THIS TO THE BBB, CA(Consumer Affairs), and the FTC. I cannot believe a company of this magnitude is allowed to get away with this type of deceitful LARCENY!!!!!
Purchased product was incomplete; their solution is for me to pay to ship it back, and they say they'll eventually refund the purchase price. So I am out the cost of shipping defective merchandise to me and then back to them.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE: Placed order using online 10% discount which showed on invoice at checkout. Opened separate browser window to look for free shipping discount, but didn't find one that applied to oversized shipments, so returned to original window and finalized checkout. Only then, did it show that the 10% discount had been removed. Immediately called customer service and they said that looking for shipping discount had replaced the 10% discount, even though it was not usable for oversized orders. Said they'd cancel order, but then said they couldn't because it had been 10 minutes since order was placed... even though I'd called them 1 - 2 minutes after placing order. Said only option was to accept without discount, or return with ME paying original shipping. I even spoke to supervisor and they were adamant about not making amends. Absolutely rotten experience. I'll never shop with this merchant again.
i would not recomend this company if you expect good customer service. i placed an order and paid addtional to have it delivered by christmas and it still has not arrived. (today is 12/27/04). i'm on the phone, on hold, with them right now and i have not been helped. i have been on hold for the past 2 hours. i will never purchase from this website again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
