I purchased a Nikon D300 camera and paid $399.99 for an extended 5 year warranty. The warranty has since closed and I called to request a refund for the warranty. Mark referred me to the new warranty company which will not pay for yearly cleanings that I paid for. I have requested a refund of the $399.99 and Mark said I could not and will not get it back- He also said that I did not know what I was talking about. He was rude to me on the phone. I will tell everyone about your poor customer service and encourage everyone not to buy from you. I will also contact the NY State Attorney will file a formal complaint. Your company certainly took my money and now are not honoring what I paid for. It is YOUR responsibility to either honor the warranty or refund me.

Ordered a Nikon D700 kit, which came with 3 main lens' Was ordered Tues evening and was delivered by Thurs the following week. One of the lens' was defective, got a Return authorization immediately, sent it in on Monday and had the replacement by the following Monday. My only concern is I didn't do my research well enough and found after I ordered it that it was a worldwide model, Sunshine does the warranty through their store, though with the experience with the defective lens and turnaround time at this point I'm not concerned, Good price and turnaround times, though I would suggest being more upfront, instead of in fine print, what region the cameras are from.

I am experiencing a very unpleasant moment dealing with Shopsunshine.
More than two month ago I bought a camcroder I'm still waiting for.
Every time I've been asking about the shipping, someone answered tome that it was leaving in the nex 48h; it's been like this for weeks; more recently I threatened to complain on such forums and someone seemed to react: the camcorder was supposed to be shipped the next opening day with a free battery as a compensation. That was two weeks ago, and I never ever heard about any tracking number.
Thay told me many things, like this:
"We received a shipment of these cameras which had few defective ones within the stock. Ultimately we decided to send the shipment back to be replaced. "
or, lately:
"Our vendor sent us the NTSC Version instead"
which is not exactly the same.
These people don't seem very reliable, and I begin to fear I'll never see neither the camcorder or the 2780$ I already paid. On time.

Placed an order for a Nikon D90 w/ 18-200mm lens on Ebay. Come to find out there is no manufacturer's warranty with the product. I called DSN to express my concerns and they appeared to be willing to help. I eventually canceled the order and was told that I had to leave positive feedback in order to receive a refund. This is strictly forbidden by Ebay feedback extortion policy. It's been over 2 weeks now and I'm still waiting for my refund. I've called several times to check the status of my refund and everyone says the same thing "It's been processed and you should see it credited to your account today". The DSN staff seems as though they are very concerned about customer satisfaction, but there are way too many blunders with the way this company operates. It's safe to say that I will NEVER order from DSN again. They sell "Grey Market" or imported items that do not come with manufacturer warranties and do not explicitly tell customers in the product description. Is omitting information considered to be dishonest or fraudulent? You be the judge.
Granted DSN has good prices, but I don't think it is worth all the hassle it in the end. Plus what happens if there is something wrong with the product? Buy from a more reputable company like B & H, which is what I did. This review was modified by its author, cyjones4, on

I was in the market for the rebel xsi, and wanted to get a kit that gave me more bang for my money. I looked all over and best buy had an xsi w/ 1 lens kit for 750 + tax. I searched EBAY and found a kit i wanted from shop sunshine. it had two tamron lenses, memory cards, backpack, flash, tripod and said it "was a canon USA camera" and Tamron USA lenses, all for 790 delivered.
I was a little hesitant, and read reviews on this site, as well as emailed 10 people who bought the same kit through ebay(8 who gave positive feedback, and 2 negatives) one negative person responded and was just mad that they got a grey colored camera instead of black.
The last thing i wanted was a grey market camera with no warranty.
I went ahead and purchased the kit from shop sunshine. Initially they asked me 3 times if i wanted an upgrade warranty for $199, to which i declined. This was on a sunday.
On monday i woke up and checked my bank account, and i was charged an extra 199 on my card. This really freaked me out, and i thought, as some reviews pointed out, that i had been had. I quickly called and explained, to which they said i would be refunded the amount, and that they apologized. 3 days later, the money was in my account.
I received the camera in exactly two weeks from purchase. I must say i was surprised that everything stated in ebay was true. i got all items, and both camera and lenses were USA warranty. I went online and registered immediately to make sure i didnt get grey market.
I honestly think that some of the negative press here is due to the fact that this company does sell grey market cameras, but if you buy one that clearly states USA model, that is what you get. I have snapped off 100 pictures so far, and love my new camera.. i saved about 200$ from bestbuy by going through this company, and would do it again.

Ordered Rebel EOS digital package through Sunshine Electronics. Was confused initially when I had to call and confirm order a day or so after ordering. Bacame more concerned when i found out it took 3-5 days to ship. I waited patiently as there was good feedback on most transactions on ebay (read all feed back on this website and you will figure out why it is positive) Needlesss to say I heard that my new camera was shipped on 04/20/2009 and then again on 04/21/2009 and then I call and hear that there was a defect in the cameras that they received from their supplier and I will have to wait (look at other feedback and this appears to be a trend with these folks) After reading all the feedback on this retailer and my experience with them I would be very wary of doing business with them. I have posted a dispute with Paypal and Visa to have my ordered cancelled and refunded to me. I will update this as needed to reflect the outcome.
Spoke to company rep for Sunshine and was threatened to leave positive feedback! I left feedback on Ebay and company has disputed so other buyers are getting ripped off right now! So now no camera and no money! I would suggest you do not buy! This review was modified by its author, jrjanisaitis, on

I located a good deal on Ebay, through the DSN. I ordered the item on 3/31/09, I finally received the order on 4/13. The time frame did not worry me too much as I read their shipping information. I was required to contact to confirm the order after already paying for the item. I received all items except the NX2 Software Disc. I called and they eventually sent me a 60 day trial disc 2 1/2 weeks after my initial order. I am not hard to please but with the extremely slow service and mis-represented software I left less than par feedback on Ebay. DSN immediately defended my statement by stating they had an 8 business day turn-a-round on my camera package and that the software is as advertised. I kept all descriptions, screenshots, and pictures of the eBay ad and NO WHERE does it state that the software was a trial version. And as for the 8 business day turn-a-round, call me crazy, my count differed since they did not send a complete order until a month later. If you can't deliver your product properly and on time, you should look into another career. I am filing a complaint with EBay as well as the better business bureau to really look into this company practice of bait and switch. Now I get to spend more money on software I already purchased.

At first, I was satisfied with my order through these people...But when I needed my camera fixed, my mother and I made a phone call to ask about the warranty I purchased, and from that point on, my experience with them slid EXTREMELY downhill. When I think of this company, I think of all the fowl language in the word. And now it's story time...
On february 15th, we called DSN (Sunshine Electronics), spoke to a man named Nathan. He pretended to be somewhat helpful but really he turned out to be the opposite. He said he would mail another warranty to us and that it would be mailed to us within 3-5 days and once we get it, we would have to wait a week. After about a week of waiting, we called back and spoke to Nathan. He said it hadn't been sent out yet.
Waited another week, it still wasn't delivered. All in all, we finally got the new warranty a month after the first time we spoke with him. He was very vague with what to do with the warranty, he just told us to follow the directions.
Once the warranty arrived, we tried to activate it but it wouldn't go through, probably because it was passed 30 days, as it says on the warranty card. We then made a phone call to the warranty company (Consumer Priority Service) and they told us it was passed 30 days and could not be activated. The date on the invoice he sent with the warranty was 1/29/2009 which was way passed 30 days so I'm not quite sure why he'd put that date if the warranty can't be activated after that time frame.
Overall, we called DSN too many times to count... I would probably say around ten times within the passed month and a half. It's upsetting to have to constantly take the time to call and then get nowhere with them. Not once have they been helpful, unless my goal is to learn how much I could hate them.
My last call was about 30 minutes ago, I spoke the "manager" and boy, if he's telling the truth.... I can maybe understand who trains the their customer service representatives. He kept interrupting me throughout the whole conversation. Whenever he did not like or agree with what I was saying, he would chime in. I find that to be a rude and annoying quality to have, especially in a member of customer service. We both began to get frustrated, he raised his voice, I raised mine. He kept telling me he could not help me other than telling me to lie to the warranty company about the date of purchase, but that would not work anyways because I have already talked to the people who work there (at CPS). I told him it was unfair for me to pay $200 for a warranty that they would not issue. And that it was unfair that they have wasted a month and a half of my time, without a camera, and having to call them constantly (whenever I have excess time). I need my digital camera, I'm a college student, my major is photography, and I normally use my camera every day. Having it broken for so long is starting to affect my photo projects, and I don't know what I'm going to do without it for my upcoming assignments. But I really do not think he or anyone else at DSN/Sunshine Electronics cares about my problem.
Everytime we've talked to them, the representatives would say enough to get us off the phone, usually by telling us they will send an e-mail, usually one that I never receive!! When I asked the "manager" aka Nathan (before I knew that that was him), he replied along the lines of "I am the manager..And anyone else would just laugh in your face."
His rudeness frustrated me further, and I tried to get across to him that his attitude and the unhelpfulness of everyone there, was going to hurt their business, but he was interrupting me too much for him to listen to what I was saying.
I have put in a claim to the Better Business Bureau in New York and I really hope they can help out, or punish this company in some way... I don't think they are being fair in any way and I find it remarkable how they are even in business....But I guess some people are just terrific at ripping people off. And they have an entire team of those people!
Finally he told me he would call CPS which is what I kept asking if someone could have done that and he told me 'no' all those times. He said he would call me back afterwards. I'm still waiting on that call....
Anyways, good luck to anyone else who has a similar problem. I don't know if anyone has experienced this sort of thing and in the end had it all worked out... But I hope that there's someone who has had success so I know that it's possible. I really don't know what I'm going to do... This is really such a huge loss and it's now beginning to sink in (because the rest of the time, I was far too pissed off with these people to spend time being sad about my broken camera.) I've been waiting 34 days to receive my extended warranty card that I paid $350 for. When I got my camera 39 days ago, it had some bogus/fake warranty card in there. I knew it was bogus, because I'm a professional photographer and knew the difference. I paid for the PRO warranty card that had all-inclusive coverage, no matter what, for 5 years. They sent me one that wouldn't have replaced anything had there been a problem.
So I called Sunshine. After being passed from operator to operator, I finally got someone on the phone who acknowledged the problem. He said I would get my warranty card within 10 business days. No problem.
21 business days later, it still didn't arrive. I inquired nicely, and was told someone would contact me. No one did. 8 more days have passed, and I never received anything.
Your only recourse with a company like this is to file a report at Ripoffreport.com. It's permanent. That shows up in the Google search and will make sure no one else suffers at the hands of these irresponsible dealers again. Buyer beware. Stay away.

2007 Multiple attempts to utilize DSN warranty and the RepairTech warranty they sold us. Followed Repairtech's instructions to send lens to NikonUSA. They returned stating gray market lens.
Repairtech and DSN unresponsive. Want us to send lens back to them, post paid, insured. I do not trust at all after the manner in which we have been mislead and spent time and money following thier instructions with no resolution. 2007.

I did eventually get the camera although it was a gray market not USA model that they advertised on Ebay. Shipping was very very slow. They do return emails but aren't very useful. Never got the 8gb card that they promised. Would I buy from them again? Definitely not.

Are all the NY, Ebay based companies selling all grey market stuff or what? They all seem to be the same business with many different names. And they are selling tons of cameras while some reputable stores are out of stock. Just curious how they get neg feedback from those who seem knowledgeable but so much pos feedback also, maybe a lot of people don't know what grey market is? Just wondering.
