My VM PC was purchased in January 2006 and I had VM make significant upgrades to it in both 2007 and 2008. VM is a pleasure to work with! The quality of VM hardware assembly is above average and their Technical Support is excellent! I recently had to use VM's Technical Support service and Flave, Tamer, Eleanor and David did a super job of helping me. The quality of VM's Technical Support is so outstanding, it alone justifies the purchase of a VM PC.

I purchased the computer from Velocity Micro in 2005. Three years later I need help in locating an audio driver I accidently deleted. VM tech support bent over backwards in helping me get the sound back on the machine - two years after the warranty had expired. Its hard to beat tech support like that in America. Velocity Micro provides the best product at the best price. I've also found their customer experience to be beyond exceptional. I ran into a slight problem with my customer unit, which is to be expected of this type of system. I decided to reach out and ask the support team for some help. What normally would have been a frustrating and expensive experience; turned out to be very easy. Try getting personal service from Dell? The CEO Randy Copeland was made aware of my issue and called me personally to discuss our options. I will continue to purchase Velocity Micro systems and will reccommend to any user who requires more than your average system - build it at VelocityMicro.com - you won't regret your experience.
Sincerely,
Evan Robins

The desktop PC I purchased has performed flawlessly and is extremely fast. The two times I've called Tech Support is because of Microsoft updates that "broke" some piece of my environment. Both times I received immediate help and had the problem resolved within 10 - 20 minutes. I will buy from them again for my next desktop/laptop.

I can't speak highly enough of Velocity Micro's tech support, especially Tiffany. I did MS recommended up date and rebooted my system and received a boot disk error. After trying a number of fixes, Tiffany figured it out. Every thing is back to normal thanks to the outstandidng tech support. If you are thinking of buying a new computer you will not get better after the sale service. I highly recommend Velocity Micro.

Purchased a pretty loaded Edge Z55 which I received about a week ago from VM and I am very pleased with both the rig and the entire process from start to finish.
Let me start by saying that I always purchase custom gaming rigs, and I own two (now dated) Falcon Mach Vs, so I'm pretty familiar with the process and what to expect.
I was able to communicate regularly with my sales rep via email and he answered all of my questions in detail and made suggestions / offered knowledgeable opinions whenever I asked. I expect this type of support for a $2800 machine and they did not disappoint in any way.
My system was shipped and delivered on the day that was expected (10/3 for an order placed late 9/23) even though they told me they couldn't guarantee it. This was especially nice because it arrived on my birthday -- a fact I had mentioned to my sales rep Jay -- he had told me they would do their best to make that happen. Win for them.
My system arrived well packed with all manuals, CDs and other information in a nice folder. I was up and running in the time it took me to hook up my monitor and speakers. No problems at all. System was exactly as specified with nice neat wiring, upgraded rounded cables as specified. Performance is outstanding.
Two items of note:
1) VM included CDs for the motherboard, InterDVD, trial of Norton, and other OEM type software but installed none of it beforehand -- which is just the way it should be! I got a nice clean install of Vista 64 bit without bloatware and I had the option to add what I wanted. NVIDIA drivers were up to date, but no nTune which is nice because that thing works pretty poorly in all honesty. Again, they left it up to me to decide.
2) I priced my $2800 rig at Falcon NW and the almost identical hardware (a couple of minor upgrades -- mobo, higher wattage on PS and RAM aside) was over $4000. Given the fact that the two rigs are practically identical, I can't see paying a 50% markup for the latter even though my experience with them has always been top notch.
Basic components which would have been identical in both rigs:
Intel Quad Q9550
2xEVGA GTX260s in SLI
300GB VelociRaptor (10K RPM, 16MB)
Upgrading to 1100W PS from 850W would have been overkill, and the difference in mobos and memory is at best worth a 5% performance increase.
So all in all...great PC, great price, great experience. I would order another gaming rig from them anytime.

I actually bought my computer in 2006, but the order dates here don't go back that far. I am writing to review Velocity Micro's Technical support.
Before I ever bought my machine, I had several online chat sessions with various tech support agents at Velocity Micro to test them out. In every instance, I found them extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I tested them by asking questions to which I already knew (or at least thought I knew) the answers, and they passed the test every time.
I recently had a problem with my video card. This is the first real problem I've had with the machine in the 2 years since I bought it. I called VM Tech support and they were able to diagnose the problem in a few minutes with a few simple and painless tests and then they sent me a new video card. In fact, they sent me a newer one and didn't charge me a dime, even for shipping.
I know some people thing that VM's prices are a bit high, but the excellent service and support more than make up for it. Buy a cheaper machine if you want to, but you end up talking to a tech who barely speaks English and doesn't know hard drive from a mouse, don't come crying to me. :)
Anyway, on the strength of their support alone, I would not hesitate to buy from VM again in the future and when it comes time to upgrade, they are the first place I'll look.

Outstanding customer service, quality product. Have purchased other high end gaming systems and they just don't compare. When the time comes to replace, upgrade or purchase another computer Velocity Micro will be the first and only place for my hard earned money.

I bought this Velocity Micro computer from Best Buy on sale.I was impressed by the neat wire routing, the gaming performance parts and abundance of circulating fans.
The computer would not cold boot after a few months, so I called their tech line its an 800# and the wait depends on their Q# 1 being the shortest wait then 2 then 3, I would hold on 1 or 2, but 3 I would call back when their not so busy.
I don't know thier phone support hours but when ever I called they were there.
They addressed my cold boot problem by having me run assorted hardware test, upgrading bios and
changing settings, ports, jumpers and cmos. They send out a new hard drive,I installed and loaded vista on, the cold boot problem was still here, they sent a new motherboard which was dead on arrival, so they sent out another with fast shipping this time, its a newer design board that
works great but didn't solve the problem! Then a tech had me disconnect all the drives from the motherboard then boot attach one drive then boot attach another, it booted until the card reader drive was attached. They sent me a new card reader drive, now the machine works great!
They were always ready to help solve my problem
and sent out new: (motherboard, harddrive and card reader) to solve a cold boot issue,
I recomend this company for going the extra mile to help this customer with a minor boot problem!

This is a review of the extended warranty and customer support provided by Velocity Micro. I have built my own desktop computers for the past 15 years, but in 2005 my wife gifted me a custom, top-of-the-line gaming machine from Velocity Micro. We bought a 3 year extended warranty because I use my computers heavily, and because over-clocked high performance rigs tend to wear out parts quickly. I have used customer service approximately 6 times in the past 3 years. Phone support has convenient hours and each time they have been quick to answer (longest hold time I recall is 15 min, usually around 5). Each rep I have worked with spoke English and was very professional. Using my machine's ID code they always have full specs for my parts and setup right in front of them. They are able to walk me through diagnostics clearly and completely to determine what is wrong. They have replaced failed memory chips, replaced 2 failed optical drives, replaced a multi-media drive, and this month they replaced the power supply. IN EVERY CASE Velocity replaced my failed parts with upgraded parts at no extra charge. For example, they replaced my 1000W power supply with a 1200W model. The most impressive example was in 2006 when the liquid cooling system sprang a leak and sprayed all of the circuit boards with coolant. They paid to ship the computer back to the plant. Within 2 weeks they sent me a completely rebuilt computer with every major component upgraded (double the memory, faster processor, next gen graphics and sound cards). Not only that, but they recovered the data from my original hard drives AND extended my warranty for an extra year. Anyone who has dealt with tech support from other computer manufacturers will recognize that this is extravagantly good customer service. I highly recommend Velocity Micro computers and their extended warranty.

Excellent company, exceptional employees, the whole experience from the beginning to receiving the final product has been great. Also, the assembly work and wiring was done very well.

My PC, (tag #835225) has been back to the factory for repairs three times, and I hope the third time is a charm. The PC was damaged in shipping when it was initially delivered in December 2007 and that caused its first trip back to the factory for repairs.
In August 2008, the PC would not boot and it went back to the factory a second time for a replacement power supply. On the return trip, it was damaged in shipping again, but the packaging materials were inadequate (just a few foam peanuts) so I can't really put the blame on the shipper.
After waiting a week for replacement packing materials to arrive, the PC made its third trip to the factory for repairs. This time, the PC came back with a reformatted hard drive and a recommendation not to restore the drive from my backups, and I had to spend considerable time reloading my application software.
Other than the hassle of shipping it back and forth and not having it to use, this PC is all I expected it to be and I am very satisfied with it. Imagine that.

Velocity Micro has been terrific. If I bought my PC from any other store I would not get the type of quality service that I have received from Velocity Micro help desk. That alone would make me a return customer.

I would not do business with this company. Here are some highlights of my experience.
1. The actual build of my system started 6 days AFTER the projected shipping date.
2. When the computer arived (a month late), it was left at my back door. The box was obviously dropped at some point because one corner was dented.
3. The computer had some major problems. The SLI connector was loose and bouncing around inside the case. The locking hub on the axle was missing a set screw. There was a defect on the top of the case. The quick start sheet said to hook the video cable to the "top left" connector, which was wrong, it is supposed to go to the second video card on a quad SLI system.
4. After I got everything hooked up and running, I noticed that the optical drives were not listed in the configuration. I called tech support and they walked me through reseting the BIOS, which worked until the next boot up, then the drives dissapeared again.
5. I called VM and they told me to return the PC and they would start building a new system while the old one was being shipped. This was a lie by the way.
6. After a week or so after I shipped it back I got an email saying that the return window was closed and that I could no longer return the system. WTF? I called VM and was told that someone would get back with me. Another lie. I went to the post office and they said that the package was delivered to VM and signed for.
7. After waiting a month with no word on the rebuild, I decided to go ahead and pay the restock fee and go with a more competent company. I emailed VM and was told that I would be charged a 10% fee instead of 15%, but when I got my statement I was charged 15%, another lie.
I am out over a 1,000 bucks and still don't have a PC. VM might have been a decent builder at one point in time, but those days are long gone.

rherb,
We appreciate your feedback and regret that your experience was not satisfactory. Unfortunately shipping damage is something very real, and despite quality packaging, is not always avoidable. Under our warranty, we are not responsible for any shipping damage that occurs in transit, but out of consumerism and to make this situation right, we agreed to file a claim with our carrier and schedule a rebuild of your system. The other option that was available was that the system could be returned for a refund less the restocking fee. We regret that you chose this option and hope you understand that the shipping damage was out of our control. We would love to provide you with a quality performance PC should you decide to return to Velocity Micro. Thank you!
