I purchased, and had installed a Kenwood touchscreen in dash GPS/DVD/Stereo at 6th ave in June. When purchasing the items they offered me an extended warranty, which I never usually buy, but they explained, that in this case, if there's ever an issue they'll put a new unit in, and save me a lot of headache in the process. So I paid the 100.00 for the extended 3 yr warranty (all told about 1600.00 setup). It's november and the unit stop producing sound. I brought it to 6th ave and they told me it's not wiring or anything, but the head unit is defective. Ok, so I asked them to put a new one in. Their response was NO. They have to send the old unit to Kenwood, and wait for 4-6 weeks until they can refurbish it. I explained and showed my receipt that I purchased their 3 year replacement warranty. Still NO. So now my car has a gaping hole in the center dash with wires hanging out of it, and I have no stereo or GPS for 4-6 weeks. I called corporate to see if I can get this handled correctly, but was only able to leave a message. I'm waiting on their reply, hoping they will honor their extended warranty...

Product didn't work as presented (The proprietary connector didn't match the unit that the online information stated it was designed for.). Had to pay ridiculously high return and restocking fee. I'll never use them and I shall recommend to my friends to avoid them as well. I'll stay with J&R in the future.

first purchase on 6ave.com and would never buy again
i'm really disappointed....the order was placed on 10/18 and shipped on 10/19
on 10/23 when i emailed to check on the order status, i was told that I have to call and schedule the appointment ......and that too after I sent you an inquiry on the order status!
i had bought this to gift it to my parent on the 25th...and guess what ....i never got it.
this was my first experience with 6ave and it really is not a pleasant one at all!
would NOT recommend any of my friend!
disappointed customer!!!

I was very disappointed with the experience. When i placed the order the item was listed as in stock. I waited a week and recieved no shipping info. WHen i called they told me it was out of stock and it would be in stock in a week. I called the following week and they told me their computers were down so they had no information. I waited a third and then fourth week and they told me it was out of stock and they didnt know when it would b eback in stock. I finally received the tv a full month and a half later. I have bought many things in the actual store. Will do that from now on becasue the online experience was a horror.

The salesman was very nice, but unfortunately it was a bad experience. I ordered a Panasonic TC-TP50V10 Plasma which arrived damaged. After explaining this to the salesman, he arranged for a replacement. Unfortunately I wasn't able to put this on my 6ave card for 12 months interest free, because they charged me for the replacement before they would refund my original television, and I didn't have another $2,000+ in available credit on the card. Again, I lose out. The second set has an uneven application of the anti-reflective filter, causing the television to have vertical streaks in the picture. This is very noticeable and ruins the anything with horizontal movement, and faces appear to have lines on them. I've been instructed that 6ave won't help me with this and I have to deal with panasonic. Panasonic is only willing to send an inexperienced local tech to dissect my brand new television. 6ave should take responsibility for a faulty new product, not direct the customer who paid $2,000+ to go to the manufacturer for a repair. I guess this is what happens when you don't go to your local Bestbuy and opt for an online retailer. B&M from now on for this guy.

I ordered a Panasonic camera that showed as in stock from them 11 days ago. I've made two previous calls to customer service where they assured me that the item would ship by the end of the next day. Last night after the 3rd contact to customer service they told me that it might be 2 more weeks at most because of a mysterious computer issue. I'll never do business there again. Buyer beware.

Ordered. Confirmed immediately and told that I would be notified when shipped. After two weeks and no shipping notice, I called. Was told that it would go out immediately and that I could expect delivery in about 5 days. Again no shipping notice for another two weeks. Finally got the order a month after I ordered it. There was never a notice that it was out of stock or delayed for any reason. Dissapointed because I read reviews that said that there were many stores to draw stock from and delivery was always prompt. I ordered this for a special occasion which occurred long before I received my order. Pretty poor service in such a competitive environment.

TV Came with broken HDMI Input. 6th ave then stated since the TV is over 50" I would have to contact the manufacturer. The part is on back order so I have been stuck with a broken input for the last month. I will not be ordering anything from Sixth ave again.

I received the telescope in a timely manner, however there were several broken parts. One being one of the legs. The broken leg will not lock into place. The other broken part was the adjustment button to move the telescope horizontally. I contacted Meade (manufacturer) only to be told that this was a discontinued model and there were no replacement parts. So now I am stuck with a broken telescope that I do not want. Very unhappy.

bought a netbook from the brick, nj store, while on vacation at the jersey shore...asked the salesman about the return policy, "30days", was all he told me..noticed a lil "price match guarantee sign" on the way out..nxt day wife spots the exact same netbook at Walmart for $21 less, AND in diff colors which the wife prefers!! called store expecting either an ez "price match" OR return it and buy the red one at Walmart..NO ON BOTH ACCOUNTS!! even mgr scott, was very UNhelpful, "company policy is you HAVE to come back to store for credit!" OVER A 1HR TURNAROUND DRIVE!! ok, well if i HAVE to come to store, id like to return it..."sorry returns are ONLY if there is something wrong!" VERY deceptive sale! Nxt time CHECK WALMART FIRST!! these guys need to get into the 21st century and CREDIT THE CUSTOMER THE DIFF IN PRICE WITHOUT MAKING THEM COME BACK! AND TELL YOUR SALESMEN TO BE MORE UPFRONT ABOUT YOUR RETURN POLICY!!

I bought a 4 piece tripod accessory kit for my SLR from this store .Although the delivery was prompt , the packaging was very bad (read torn) and the quality of the product was extremely poor . It dint look anything like the picture shown in the website. The camera pouch wasnt even big enough to hold the SLR(body only) and to top it , the material was plasticy and not sturdy at all!!! What added to my irritation was that the return policy on the product was not customer friendly at all.I would NEVER EVER buy again from this store !

I ordered a camera that was supposedly in stock. A few days later checked to see if it was shipped. It was not. Called the store and was told that they oversold and it was coming from one of their retail stores. I asked if they could be sure as this was a graduation present. Guaranteed they said. I call back the next week and am told it was backordered from the manufacturer. First it was in stock, then coming from another store, then then coming from the manufacturer. You make the call. I didn't receive my order by the expected delivery date. When I contacted them I was told that it would ship in an additional 1-3 days as it was being transfered in from one of their retail locations. After the 3 days elapsed i contacted them only to find out that they backordered the product and that they didn't have an expected delivery date. Prior reviews indicate that this is a not an uncommon practice at 6AVE. If you want the prodcut you ordered at the price you ordered it for, shop somewhere else would be my recommendation.

I ordered a Samsung SC-MX20 camcorder based on the advertised inclusion of a 32GB memory card. I even called customer service to confirm that the card was included and that it was indeed a 32GB SDHC. The man on the phone was rude, acting as if I was inconveniencing him but eventually confirmed that a 32GB SDHC card was included. However, when the package arrived, the card was not included. Customer service (via email) has been polite but unwilling to honor the offer ("typo"). So beware. The description still hasn't been corrected. You will need to purchase your own memory as there in no internal memory for this model. I will not buy anything from 6thave again. This review was modified by its author, ryz11, on

was told it would be carefully shipped and special shipping care instructions would be givin to UPS, the PLasma TV came shipped totally destroyed, i watched the ups driver literally flip the giant box around out of the back of the truck.. so there was NO special handling givin as the 6th ave saleperson said..
the replaced tv was not in stock, and each time i called to check into it i got a different story from each different cutomer care rep.. one lady was pretty rude and sounded like she was chewing gum and talking at the same time..
i got tired of waiting and the different stories and cancelled the order as i found the same set locally..
I will never buy anything from 6th ave ever again.!
