I would have rated this site extremely well until today. I just found out that they included with my purchase, without my knowledge, a "complimentary" subscription to some magazine published by TV Guide. I didn't even know about it until I got a refund check in the mail because they have stopped making the magazine. If they are refunding money to me, clearly they charged me for the magazine which I did not request. This is completely unacceptable. I will never purchase from or recommend this site.

The website, product selection, and ordering were all top notch. The shipping was very reasonable, only $3.99 for 2 bags.  
I just found out why so cheap. eBags uses the basic UPS service, NO DELIVWEY VEIFICATION. This allows UPS to leave the package at the front door with no signature or delivery verification.  
After a 3:19 PM delivery in South Florida, the box was ripped opened and the contents (two backpacks for my granddaughters) dumped out and all of the paperwork with my name address, email address, and credit information was stolen, It is very negligent to NOT inform the customer that the merchaqndise is NOT being sent with signature required. We DO NOT mind paying more for shipping to avoid identity theft.

I'm extremely happy with the services of ebags. I ordered close to the christmas holidays so was a slightly worried I wouldn't get my gift on time but it was delivered 4 days after I placed the order. The bag itself is fantastic quality, i'm always dubious about ordering online but ebags surpassed themselves. Cheers. And as for the complaints about the magazine subscriptions, I guess you have to be a little observant, I certainly saw it.

I hate ebags. I ordered two items from them for an upcoming trip. I placed the order 2 weeks before my departure date. One week passed before they even shipped the first item, and the other one is still sitting in their warehouse. The major problem with all this is that by the time the items get here, I'll already be gone on my trip!  
 
Adding insult to injury, I've received the most innane, unsympathetic responses from their customer service reps. They don't even read the emails you send them, they just send you a generic response. I'm furious with this company and I just want to warn everyone NOT to buy anything from them! Please shop elsewhere!!!

Best price I could find on the Case Logic notebook case I was looking for, 10% off and free shipping helped. It was shipped directly from Case Logic in CO. BEWARE though. They try to slip in a magazine subscription during checkout. How do they get away with this? Is this legal?

Ordered two 180cm ski bags since it's one of the few places around that carry them. Order was processed fast and I received the box in two or three days even though I paid for the chipes shipping. That was good until I open the box. Inside were two 165 cm bags. So, I mailed customer service. They answered surprisingly quickly (same day) and were helpful enough. So, I submited the order for the return and got the e-mail saying I'll receive UPS return shipping lable withing the week. Then, I reordered the same staff. Again, it was quickly processed and shipped. Gues what was inside? Yes, pair of freaking 165cm bags again. So, I talked with customer service again and submited my second order for the ruturn also. So, now I have 4 bags I didn't order and 100 backs out of my pocket. And I still waiting for the UPS lables. After all, that's somewhat wierd. Good customer service but stupid stock workers. Also, I don't understand why it takes so long to send me that UPS labels.  
Update:  
In couple days they sent me third box via 2-day UPS. I didn't order, but they decided to send it. Anyway, in the box as usual was not the 180cm, but 203cm bags. It's not what I ordered but at least they fit my skis. In couple more days I finally got UPS labels and sent 4 bags back. They wrote that they will reemburse me for half of each of two orders (it's one order in total).  
Summary:  
1) I'v got not exactly what I paid for.  
2) It took more then two weeks to do that.

I ordered a set of bags from them on 17th. They shipped through UPS and UPS said they will deliver on 26th. On 26th UPS said they cant deliver because the package doesnt have an apartment number listed on there. I checked my ebags invoice to see if I forgot to specify the apartment number. Buy to my surprise the billing and the shipping address had the apartment number listed very clearly. I called up customer service and she tracks the UPS tracking and says that there is no apartment number specified on the package. And after a minute she herself says that you live in so and so apartment number right? I mean how dumb you can be. You can see the apartment number in the invoice and you dont put that on the shipping label? It was my first and probably the last purchase from eBags. I have purchased quite a few things from online stores and no one ever has made such a careless mistake.

Good price when I bought a backpack from there site. I got 10% off so it was good deal. But even after the 10%, I still think I overpaid for backpack when I got it. The delivery was right on schedule. It wasn't early or late.

I want to warn potential customers about eBags current practice of including a "complimentary" Inside TV magazine subscription with you order. They tell you this in itsy-bitsy print near the bottom of your email order confirmation. They further tell you that you have already paid for this subscription, and that you can get your money back by mailing a SASE (costing you another 74 cents) and your original receipt to an address which will then send you a check for $7. I assumed that the first time I got this "complimentary" item that it was because I forgot to uncheck the boxes for unwanted solicitations. I called customer service and they assured me that I wouldn't get the magazine and they would credit me the $7. We'll see if they really did. What I do know for a fact is that it happened a second time, even though I did uncheck the boxes for third-party junk. I had problems with them in the past over shipping and customer service issues. I will never do business with them again after this. This practice is fraudulent and wrong, and people need to be warned.

Ordered two items on July 25. One arrived on time. The other item was estimated to arrive on August 1. After three e-mails inquiring as to the delay and being told we are waiting for a response from fulfillment team, I received a generic e-mail on August 5, advising that the item was sold out.

I ordered a Mountaineer camera backpack on a Friday. The order shipped on Tuesday and arrived on Thursday, and that was with free shipping! They had the best price around, and I had absolutely no problems with the purchase. I guess I got lucky, though. I noticed they were out of stock a couple days later when I tried to reccomend the same pack to a friend.  
 
I will most likely shop here again. Actually, I need a new wallet, and it looks like they have a pretty good selection.  
 
EDIT - I looked through all my order information, and through the web site. I see no mention of magazine subscriptions or info sharing anywhere. Their privacy policy explicitly states that they don't share your private information with any other companies. I'm wondering if some people are confusing eBags.com with another web site?

I ordered a TechWeave II bag for a Dell Inspirion 9300 laptop. This was one of the few bags that would accomodate the Inspirion's 17" widescreen display. The bag was quite cheap (under $20 shipped) so I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bag. Adequate padding and two front pockets make this a good, basic bag.  
 
The only negative I had was with the fine print in the order confirmation. At the bottom it states that any order over $20 will automatically receive a subscription to Organic Style magazine (further down it says TV Guide instead of Organic Style) but it fails to state if that's $20 before discounts or not. So I e-mailed them asking if I would automatically be subscribed to this magazine. I got the e-mail runaround for a couple weeks until I got an e-mail from them stating my subscription to Insider TV would not be processed. So I guess I'll see if a subscription to Organic Style/TV Guide/Insider TV shows up in a few months...  
 
Overall I'm satisfied with my bag but put off by the whole magazine subscription thing. There is no mention of this during the order process so you don't really know what's going on until you read the ENTIRE order confirmation. Caveat emptor.

After over two weeks of stalling via assorted emails, they finally admit that they have run out of stock of the bag I ordered and I will have to wait another 3 weeks for the bag to ship. Over all, ebags has been one of the more frustrating experiences with an online merchant. Will not be ordering again (and am canceling my current order).
