When I easily won this Nikon D80 package on ebay from Digital Corp (a.k.a Infinity Cameras), it seemed like a great deal at roughly $1600 for the camera plus a lot of extras. Upon winning and paying through paypal, I called the company to "confirm my order", only to be told that the charger and rechargeable battery would cost extra (despite the auction stating otherwise) and were not included. I said no thank you, and the salesperson became really rude and then said, "This item is on backorder and will take 3 weeks to ship. Goodbye." And hung up on me. Later, when I called back, I said I wanted to take the battery + charger offer, and suddenly the item could be shipped overnight and received within a couple of days. The "backorder" comment was to punish the customer for not buying into additional items. I was told upfront that if I bought into the battery offer, that my item would get past the border via courrier and would be on my doorstep immediately, otherwise it could take a long time. This is fraudulent busniess practice.

They also tried to sell me an additional Canadian warranty (since I am not eligible for the U.S one) at a price of $250 more, but I said absolutely not. I have since called Nikon Canada and the the 2 year optional warranty is under $200 CDN.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! The prices of their camera kits seem too good to be true and they ARE. It will end up costing you 20-25% more due to fees that are undisclosed at the time of your order! And if you don't accept these additional fees they will not deliver your item in a polite or timely manner!

I purchased my camera (Sony DSC-F828) from these guys because without question, they had the lowest price ($589 pre-tax). I bought the camera on a Saturday; Monday I received a phone call stating that the camera was on backorder and would take 3-5 weeks.

I got back to them two days later. I was frustrated with the delay, because I wanted the camera for my son's birthday party that Saturday. When I talked to them, the salesperson immediately began to describe to me the "upgrade". It seems that the kit that I bought (which no other reseller seems to have) is a "body" kit, which contains only a "20 minute battery", etc.

I caught on immediately. After the "upgrade" to the "standard" kit that Sony sells (which Infinity Camera called a "starter kit"), as well as a lens pack for $250, the camera shipped in two days. Surprise.

Let the buyer beware; you can get pretty decent pricing from these guys, but their advertised price is NOT what you'll be paying. All told I am still pleased with the price, but not nearly so much as I was prior to the switch.

I contacted Sony. FYI, NO "barebones" kit exists. They don't make a "20 minute" battery. And Infinity Camera is not a direct reseller, they go through a second party.

I believe this to be a bait and switch, though, and will be contacting the authorities in New York as well as the better business bureau.

Good luck.....

Ordered Sony camcorder DCR-TRV38. They called and said it would be backordered for about a week. Now, two weeks later, nothing. After reading other comments here, I'm cancelling the order. They do have the lowest quoted price on the web - by far. They just don't have the camera.

I ordered a Sony Camcorder DCR-TRV33 from the Infinity Camera web site. Prior to placing the order I called their sales line and asked if this item was in stock, incuded all of the U.S. Sony camcorder package items, and had a U.S. warrantee. I received a very quick respnse "YES".
After placing the order I received a quick reply email that my order would be processed in 24 - 72 hours. I had heard noting more by 1/6/04, so I called customer service. After checking, I was told that the camera was on 6 - 8 week backorder. I asked them to cancel the order; and I received a quick email cancellation.
If I had looked at the other postings on www.resellerratings.com, I could have saved the effort and time of placing this order and then having to cancel it.

I got a Fuji S2, same deal--no U.S. warranty, only Repairtechinc for $450/3yrs. The pitch was that customers can choose their own warranties and thus save money. This was a new experience to me and I was totally unaware of this "grey market" concept, where you get a camera in a box labeled for Japanese sale and a manual in Japanese. Shortly after getting it, my S2 died on the tripod. Sent to Repairtech (http://repairtechinc.com/) and heard nothing for a week. No way to check, either, and no answer to emails to them. Then finally a call--it would be a "neglect" claim and the cost would $240, but after much protest, an agreement for Repairtech to pay 40%. To say I abused this camera seems a joke. I personally treated it like a great big egg. So anyone considering a purchase from Infinity Cameras should at least consider these experiences here. All this could be on the up and up but it is certainly suspicious to me. If and when I get my camera back in working order it goes on sale and I will go to a local store for a real one. Oh, another thing--a huge S&H bill, also, nearly $150 added to my credit card by Infinity for the camera, a lens, and a flash--and S&H not refundable, either.

If you choose to do business with this company, you WILL be sorry. I wish I would have checked their reviews before I chose to spend $3000 with them. They charge you for items you didn't agree to pay for, don't send items you ordered, ignore e-mails and refuse requests for return authorizations even when called then day you recieve the product. Roy(ext 772) is possibly the most rude customer service representative I've ever worked with. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contacted my attorney. They also do business as Best Priced Cameras and Enterprise Photo.

this has to be the worse company I have ever tried to do business with. I
Cannot understand how they stay in business with their unscrupulous tactics.

I ordered a Canon EOS Rebel XTI Camera package from their website at a
Price of $449.00. It included the camera, one lens (18-55) 1GB Memory Card
Card Reader LCD Screen protectors, Lens Cleaning Kit, Camera Case, Table
Tripod, Full size tripod, Lens Pouch, Cap Keeper and Wrist Strap. It even
Included
A free MP4 Player!!! All of this was listed on the website so I copied and
Printed it for reference.
The next night I receive a call from Victor (ext. 202) who tells me that I
Must
Purchase a battery for the camera in order to use the camera and did I want
The 2 hour battery or the 5 hour battery He recommended the 5 hour battery
For $168.00. I told him I did not want his battery. And he said OK but the
Camera
Will not work without it. (I felt he was trying to upsell me with this
Offer) Most all
Cameras come with a battery included. Then he told me that there would be
A
Shipping and handling charge and I told him the shipping was listed as free
On
The website. He said they could not ship and handle the camera for free and
Make
Any money and that I would need to pay a shipping charge.
After I hung up I became more and more aggravated and convinced that I had
Just been duped by some slick New Yorker.
(They already have a terrible reputation for this practice). So I called
Back to ask to cancel my order. Customer service put me on hold and I
Held for 20 minutes before I spoke with Chris, gave him my order
Number and told him that I wanted to cancel my order he put me on hold again

And it was another 20 minutes before he came back and he told me that it
Had been done. I ask him for a conformation number and he said I did not
Need one that it had been taken care of. This was on December 5, 2007.

On December 15, UPS delivered a Camera with a charger and battery and
Standard disk and manual and warranty which could be questionable and a
Sales slip for $629.99. I called
My credit card company and told them to dispute the charge (all of it). I
Will see if I can
Aggravate them as much as they have me. Someone needs to do a class
Action suit
Against this fraudulent company. I cannot believe there are so many
Complaints about
This company for the same thing over and over.

I would love to have an invoice but never received one. I'm the victim of the same old story - saw a great price for a camera, in a great combo package. Ordered it online - never received a confirmation email. Two or three days later I receive a phone call - at work in the middle of a time-critical project. You need this, you need that. The lens you asked for isn't a Nikkor (yes it was). Same story on the "high speed card." Since we are changing everything else can I change the camera body? Sure, but the price never seemed to be close to what I remember was on the website. OK, I bit the bullet, paid a bit more (a big bit!) and it was shipped out. UPS tried to deliver, we work so nobody home. I called to just pick it up myself. Sorry, can't do that. The retailer has put a restriction that it can only be delivered to the delivery address and signed for there. I needed to call the company to get them to change this. Well, website doesn't work, no phone number to call. In the midst of looking for a way to contact the company, I run across this website and find out how this company, under various names, has been ripping off folks for years. A little late but hopefully not too late. UPS - just ship it back. And thank you, American Express. I've learned my lesson (again) to question deals too good to be true, because they probably are.

I ordered a Fujifilm Finepix S9100 at a great price from BestPriceCameras.com.

I rcvd this e-mail from Ken@bestpricecameras.com:Thank you for your recent order with us. The product you selected is currently on a 6- 8 week backorder. You card has not been charged and your order has been placed on the backorder list. As soon as it is available we will notify via email.
Thank you,
Ken

Later that morning, I got a call from J&K Camera (712-306-1554) wanting the last 3 digits on the back of my husband's credit card. I asked why & they said it was to process my order. I asked if the camera was off backorder & he stated it never was backordered & that he had spoke with my husband on the phone & that my husband had placed the order over the phone. I asked if he was with Best Price Cameras, & he rudely said, "You tried to order this camera from another company?", like he was betrayed. I asked him for a # to call him back, I said I would speak to my husband & if all was legit, I would call back with the last 3 digits. I asked if he had our e-mail address, & he said yes. I asked him to e-mail a # to us and he said he would; he never did. I called my husband & he never talked to anyone on the phone. We found this website (Thank God!) & found that they (Best Price Cameras and J&K Camera) are crooked. I e-mailed them to cancel my order and have heard nothing. I called & cxld the credit card used to place this order. So far, no funny charges have shown up, & we are lucky to walk away a little smarter. I reported them to the BBB, and anyone that has had a similar experience should do the same. I tried calling the phone # that showed up on caller ID & it rings fast busy. I tried to reach them by calling the toll-free #’s listed on their website and it is impossible to get someone. They transfer you again & again & place you on hold & then disconnect you.

I agree with the prior posters. To say that this company's business practices are underhanded, is an understatement. They sent me the wrong order, I returned it....and they still kept a 10% restocking fee. On a $2500 order, this is significant money. They will not return phone calls. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!...or the many aliases they use on the net.

After ordering a camera it took them 13 days to inform me it was backordered and then the price was raised over $100. I had to contact them before they even let me know I wouldn't be receiving my order and I am positive it was not backordered at the time I ordered because I placed my order minutes after they updated their site. Very unprofessional and dishonest. Now reading other reviews I'm glad I didn't receive my order.
