USELESS!
I waited 4 weeks for a pair of prescription glasses. After 2 weeks they advised that the glasses were not in stock and suggested that I choose another pair. I said I would wait; they advised that the glasses would arrive in another 10 days.
10 days later a pair of glasses - a different model, wrong colour and wrong prescription lenses arrived. I attempted to telephone the company number in Australia - the call was transferred to Hong Kong where a grumpy customer service female told me that maybe I ordered the wrong glasses and that I would have to return the glasses at my own expense.
I emailed my issues; I chatted to their online live-chat customer service person and received the same responses. I then telephoned the courier company and asked them how much it would cost me to return the glasses to Hong Kong (although VisionDirect uses an address in Australia - they do not accept returns at that address....go figure). The charming customer service person at the courier company told me that VisionDirect should be offering to have the wrong glasses returned and send new ones out - and she also sent VisionDirect an email with Cc: to me, stating this.
VisionDirect Customer "Service" then condescended to reply to my email by telling me to send a photo of the glasses I had received, plus box, plus packaging - as well as a copy of my original invoice/email order.
I returned the glasses to VisionDirect; it took them 8 business days to organise collection from the courier company of their choice.
They advised me that they would refund my money when they had received the glasses. By this time 9 weeks had passed. I requested a refund from my credit card company - and when I spoke to the bank's fraud department and put in a fraudulent-seller claim I was finally refunded my money after 3 months.
Don't go there.
There is no customer service...they do not understand the concept....they are rude
They have a "company" websites all over the place that purport to be in the country of the buyers, but they are in Hong Kong.
The happy-customer reviews and compliments on their websites are bogus.
You would probably have a better chance of finding an iceblock in hell before you receive what you order from this company.

Do not order from these folks. I ordered my contacts and sent my rx. No response and no activity on my credit card. I emailed them requesting information as to whether or not my order was being sent. After no reply I canceled (glad the cancel order function worked!) I ended up ordering from brandnamecontacts.com (who contacted me immediately about my rx and even sent me email confirmation that my lens were sent).

After doing business with this company,the last online order I made, my credit card number was stolen. I don't recommend using this site at all, unless you want to go through the horrible process of having your debit/credit card number unprotected and used. It is not worth it.

Disappointing service. Called after not getting proclear toric lenses after 2 weeks and was told they were waiting for delivery from manufacturer. Called a week later and learned that they were on backorder. They couldn't explain why I hadn't been contacted. Customer serivce rep said they had some of the order but they couldn't ship a partial order. Frustratingly poor ability to meet the customer's needs. Don't order from them unless you have lots of time before you need the lenses.....

VisionDirect totally dropped the ball. Their customer service is frustrating and far from reliable.
I needed my order rushed (and ordered 3 day shipping). I emailed the address they told me to contact and never received a human reply. I called and they said if I had contacted them earlier they would have been able to help. I do not recommend this company at all.

I usually order through 800-CONTACTS, where I've had great customer experiences. Here, it's a different story.
After being repeatedly told that my contacts should ship "today, tomorrow at the latest," it's now 8 business days and 10 days since I placed my order and all they can tell me is, "they should ship any day now."
Customer service reps are either ill-informed, don't care, or less than intelligent. No one seems able to tell me more than the web site does, which is basically nothing.
Do yourself a favor, pay the extra $10 or so and order from your doctor or 800-CONTACTS.

Worst customer service ever.
This has been one of the worst experiences from an online company.
I ordered contacts and brita filters from Visiondirect. I used some promotional codes on the order.
They shipped one portion (from drugstore.com) and I received it. My order screen said that my contacts had also shipped, but no tracking # was availale.
I waited 7 days after the order had supposedly shipped and after the 7th day, I called Visiondirect.
The CSR I spoke to told me that the contact portion of the order had been cancelled because I use the promotional code *that the system accepted*. They cancelled one portion of the order and accepted the other. This has got to be illegal and is unquestionably a deceptive business practice.
I went through all of that hassle for nothing. I waited 7 days for contacts that never came. Now I am in desperate need of contacts and am forced to buy them retail. Being a poor student, this really hurts my finances.
Do not deal with this company. I will be notifying the BBB and FTC of this experience.

This time it was a disaster! I have shopped at their store for years, but this time was enought to turn me off forever. Five days after I placed the order (!!) they contact me saying that they cannot ship without a valid prescription. I've had in their system a valid prescription from a european doctor for the last two years, and they shipped 3-4 orders to me during that time. But they conviniently ignored that and required me to obtain a new prescription from an american doctor, not only for the parameters of the contacts but for the BRAND too???? No optometrist I ever went to prescribed a BRAND! That's ridiculous, only the parameters matter. I got fed up and told them to cancel the order and I would not be ordering any more from their store. I would not recommend this store to anyone. The site showed "free shipping on any order with no minimun purchase", I didn't show the shipping fee until I press "Place order", and the receipt showed shipping fee of $6.99. Yet processing fee for $1.95
I tried to cancel the order and it didnt let me cancel. I called customer service 800 numbers and waited for 30 mins and noone answered the phone.

I have used VisionDirect for about 3 years now. I am very pleased with both their service and prices. I recommend to all my friends.

This is my second time ordering from Vision Direct and they have been great. They have the best prices and you can always find a coupon online. Shipping has also been timely. I would recommend this company.

Everything about this transaction went smoothly. Phone support was excellent, email confirmation was quick, and the order arrived in 4 days, postage-free.

ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT SHIPPED fast well it was overnight but the CS was excellent answered all my questions and when there was a shipping address error they notified me immediately and accomadated everything. BYE BYE 1800. my proclear contacts were 20 dollars cheaper! than 1800. thats 40 in savings (need 2 boxes) and free shipping on 99 over. thank you VD This review was modified by its author, john.woo, on

Nothing but good things to say about this contact lens site. My first order for Toric lenses came in a week flat! Previously, I had had some bad experiences with ordering contact lenses o line, (took two months once with a now-defunct seller) but I'll shop here again.

My first order was in 2004. I ordered 7 more times from them. They have great customer service. Usually they send the items at the same day. They even reshipped one of my order that lost. I don't mention the great price. I will definitely to continue ordering from this company again.
