FINAL UPDATE - After all this time, and after all this trouble, I learned that the video card we ordered USUALLY comes with a 15-pin VGA plug built-in, but some cheap versions might not, and they sell the cheap kind. Because of that, their card uses an adapter, and it causes 3D corruption. This was tested with 2 different cards and different adapters. We finally decided to return our second card and get our money back, and their policy is to charge a 15% restocking fee, plus an additional $6 if shipping was free when you bought it! They charge you all that money just to return THEIR defective products! A phone representative offered to break from the norm and send a shipping label, which they should have done the first time. After all this time and trouble, we STILL do not have a working computer thanks to GameVE, and are going to buy a different video card elsewhere. The whole experience has been so very bad that I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. GameVE has been a huge disappointment. UPDATE - we finally received the video card, but they didn't include the adapter to plug it into a normal monitor! Now we have to wait for an adapter to be sent before we can use the replacement card, because we included everything when we returned it. They gave us only a card back, not the retail package we originally ordered. - My friend and I are extremely displeased with GameVE's service. The video card we ordered turned out to be defective. Upon requesting an RMA number, we were NOT offered a shipping label, and paid MORE MONEY to send it back to GameVE. Once GameVE had the video card back, they took a LONG TIME to do anything, until I personally placed a phone call to the company, in which I was told the card would not be shipped until the following week. However, for some reason I received an email later that day that the new card would be shipped the next day. That was yesterday, so of course the card is still not here, and my friend has been without a computer system for weeks. We are very, very unhappy with GameVE, and will submit a negative review to PriceWatch.com as well. The price was more than we wanted to pay in the end, because of the extra shipping costs to return GameVE's defective product. Our time has been wasted, and continues to be, until we receive a new card. If the next card is also defective, we will seek a refund.

Speakers arrived non-functional.
Cost to ship back is 2/3rds the cost of the speakers, (for my children's PC). GAMEVE said its also just as likely that the 2nd set they would send me would also be non-functional. It was pretty obvious they just wanted me to go away. They already got my money. Stay away from this store!

The DVD-RW drive that I bought from Gameve.com did not work. I was told that I had to ship it back at my cost in order to get a replacement according to their policy. That policy will cost them from getting any of my business again!

Returned early December due to motherboard problems. two weeks went by and still no return shippment. Called and said that they had to retun to Manufacturer because they were out of stock. Another two to three weeks go by and finally I recieve an e-mail saying it has been shipped back to me. I have not yet recieved but it was just shipped. Has been a month and a half and no running computer. I just hope when I recieve this one there is no problems with it. Should have asked for a refund instead of an RMA!

WHEN WE DO NOT HAVE THE ITEM INSTOCK, WE CAN'T SWAP YOU A NEW ITEM AND SHIP TO YOU RIGHT THE WAY. WE HAVE CHOICES TO EITHER SEND TO US AND WAIT FOR IT OR RMA DIRECTLY WITH MANUFACTURE GIGABYTE. YOU CHOSE THE LONGER WAY, WHICH IS SEND TO US AND HAVE US SEND TO GIGABYTE AND THEN BACK TO YOU. WE RECEIVED YOUR RMA ON 12/9/04, WE SHIPPED IT BACK TO YOU ON 01/07/05. IT IS WITHIN 30DAYS AS WHAT WE TOLD YOU FROM THE BEGINNINGS.

I purchased a 5900XT video card. It was defective when I received it. I sent it back after testing it in several different systems just to make sure. I requested an exchange for the same item. I called 3 weeks later when I still had not heard anything, only to find out that they had sent it to the manufacturer for repair since the item had been discontinued. I was told that this was my only option; they would not exchange it for a different type of card, not would they refund my money. They also stated that they had no idea how long it would take to get the card back, during which time I would have to go without a card, and therefore without a working computer. I got tired of waiting and finally purchased an inexpensive 5500OC from Best Buy. This card works great, BTW. I finally heard back from GameVE after another 4 weeks, informing me that the card could not be repaired and that I would have $140 toward the purchase of a new card. The original one cost $172! I am still attempting to get my money back.
I wil never, never, never purchase from this company again, and I will tell everyone about my experience.

Regarding the response:
I NEVER received contact from you regarding the status of my return. All contact that was made was me calling you. I purchased the card at the end of October. I received my new computer 2 weeks later and called you as soon as I was aware that it did not work. Your people told me to try it in at least 2 other computers to see if theproblem could be my new computer. I did that, which took a little time to find 2 computers to test it in. It did not work. I requested my RMA towards the end of November and sent it back immediately. You have had the card since then. I replied IMMEDIATELY after receiving the email that the card could not be fixed, requesting a refund of my purchase price. A refund of $140 has been issued, which is completely unacceptable.
Oh, and in the manner of your responses to other customers: Can you not count? I purchased the card just over 2 months ago, not four. And you have had it over half that time.

NOW YOU SAID YOU BOUGHT A LOWER CARD FROM BEST BUY INSTEAD OF TAKING REPLACEMENT FROM US. WE OFFERED YOU A CURRENT PRICE $140 REFUND, NOT STORE CREDIT, EVEN YOU HAVE PURCHASED FROM US 4 MONTHS AGO.

I ordered my card and got some weird answers from this place like.

"Your order will ship out pretty much tomorrow

Thanks"

The other problem I had it calling them, it’s near impossible. When you pres 0 to get in touch with someone it comes back saying it’s busy and you get nowhere, left a few messages on the phone without any callback. GameVE must be a small company with about 4 employees.

None the less I ordered the card on the 27 and it seems to have shipped late on the 29th or early on the 30th which is decent turn around time. Not sure I would show here again the whole ordeal made me uncomfortable, but no one else had the 6800gt so I paid more and went here rather then getting the BFG I wanted for 400 at chumbo.

I picked up my card early and all is well I must have overreacted, my only concern is the customer serice I like peace of mind being able to talk to someone on the phone, they really need a better phone system setup. The packaging was good and the card works so im happy :)

This is my first time ordering anything from GameVE because of their rating from this site. First impressions are hard to break and so far , it's NOT GOOD. I bought the new "RETAIL" MSI nx6600GT video card for myself for X-Mas. Upon opening the box that had no plastic wrap on it, I was not very suspicious yet. Then when I saw the anti-static bag had been opened before, I got this sinking feeling in my stomach. It didn't take me more than 60 secs. to see that my fears had come true, X-Mas was ruined for me. 1 of the capacitors had been broken almost entirely off, sitting at a 90' angle. :( This definitely looked like a previously returned item to me now, or at best, an OEM placed back in the box, not the NEW - Retail product I had paid $250 for . Now I begin the lovely process of returning , RMAing and the waiting. I will update this profile when ( if ) I see how well the cust. service goes.
12/28/04 - It is good to see GameVE cares enough to respond on this site but hopefully I am misinterpreting the tone it seems I am reading. I have been building computers and buying parts from the internet since before Pentium 1 came out and for a seller to infer that the customer is at fault for a damaged product, when I immediately notified the company upon inspection, not 3 weeks later, is absurb. This is exactly why there are RMA's / exchanges / returns because of the existence of bad/ damaged products. I can not begin to explain the 1000 ways this product came to be dameged,( poor manuf., bad handling at wharehouse, the rush of delivery services, etc..) but I can only state what happened the moment I opened the product I purchased. I can understand GameVE.com needing to be cautious about wild, unfounded claims but this is neither. I look forward to the resolution of this promptly.

1/3/04 My card came back thru FedEx today and I have started the install process. It looks to be an entirely new card. (fingers crossed ) Most of the procedure went smoothly, except for the initial disappointment of a broken card and the totally unprofessional manner of the GameVe respondant on this site. Unfortunately, It would take a minor miracle for me to order from GameVe again due to this.

You called us claiming that the video card was fallen into piece when you received it, but the retail box was in perfect condition. You could not or do not want to describe what exactly the video card conditions to us. Also, we heard different stories from your wife. Now you said only the capacitor ALMOST fell off. This MSI 6600GT 128MB AGP card was released less than 3 weeks from MSI with limited quatities. Just for your information, MSI does not make OEM video card, everything they made are retail. We already told you we will advanced replace you this card, but if we receive your video card back and there was any form of phyical damage caused by you, we will charge you. We sold more than 100pcs of this video card all the same batch, and no one has yet receiving this video card with perfect retail box but damage inside. We are looking forward to receive your video card back so we can inspect it. Thank you.
12/28/04 - NOW YOU CLAIMED YOU ARE EXPERIENCED COMPUTER BUILDER, THEN WHY YOU HAVE YOUR WIFE WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS RMA TO TELL US DIFFERENT STORY. WE CAN'T WAIT TO RECEIVE THE CARD BACK! THANK YOU.

I ordered a product on the 14th of December with the understanding that it would arrive at my house by the 20th. During the week of the 20th I contacted the company on numerous occasions each time recieving a different explanation, finally to have someone tell me, it was never shipped and the product was still on back order. After I canceled the order they said it would be a few days before they could reimburse my credit card.

If their accuracy in filling an order rivaled their speed in getting it out, they would have a very good thing going. Contacting customer service was impossible. Guess they don't use live people to staff their office, nor do they return phone calls.

I am VERY dissappointed in the service I received. I am building a computer for my sister for a christmas present and NEEDED the video card I ordered by Christmas. I called prior to ordering to make sure the card was in stock and that it would be shipped out ASAP. I was informed it was there and if I ordered right away I would have the card by Christmas.

So I placed the order at 10:45AM on 12/20, but the card DID NOT SHIP until 12/22 at 6:22PM, meaning it WILL NOT be in the mail until 12/23! Now the estimated shipping delivery is 12/27, which does me a whole lot of good for giving the computer to my sister for Christmas.

Thanks for lying to me over the phone and not shipping the product I ordered out when promised. I will make sure to recommend to everybody I talk to on my website of over 30,000 members to NEVER use your company to order ANYTHING.

GameVE.com was pretty good to deal with. Their web site said a particular item was in stock so I ordered it. As it turned out, the item went onto backorder with my order so I wasn't going to get it by Christmas. I called customer service and the lady helped me change my order to a comparable item for a few extra bucks (the difference in the two prices) and the order was immediately shipped. Now I'm getting the item in time for Christmas, albeit a different brand than I had planned but I'm still happy and would do business with GameVE.com again.

I ordered a XFX GeForce 6600GT 128MB AGP in order to replace my dead Radeon 9700Pro. It hasn't arrived quite yet so there is not much else to say. I am disappointed that the stock was not updated in realtime hence I did not know that the order I played on the 15th would not ship till the 21st. Also, I did not receive an email about the empty stock nor was it featured in my receipt. However, the 6600GT is a hot item and many stores are completely sold out and it's not like GameVE can keep an unlimited amount of stock so I took it in stride. I will simply exercise more patience.

GameVE had, at the time of my order, falsely advertised MSI's PCI-E X800XT (non-Platinum) graphics card as "[PCI EXPRESS] MSI RADEON X800 XT 256MB PLATINUM RETAIL." They had also stated in the product description that it had 1100 MHz memory speed. In fact, it is not a Platinum Edition graphics card and it does not have that memory clock; I have confirmed this using MSI's website and through speaking with representatives of MSI.

To this date, MSI has never produced a PCI-E Platinum Edition graphics card (nor has any other manufacturer, according to an MSI representative). They have only ever produced this type for the AGP interface. The MSI X800XT-PE graphics card for AGP was the product that I intended to buy.

Remember that, as I was browsing the GameVE website, I was assuming that the product descriptions provided were correct. Typically retailers exert some effort to ensure that this is the case. Apparently, GameVE doesn’t, being “just the middle man” (according to a customer service representative). I was also armed with the knowledge that MSI did not produce a PCI-E Platinum Edition card. Therefore, when I saw the words "[PCI EXPRESS] MSI RADEON X800 XT 256MB PLATINUM RETAIL," the words “MSI” and “PLATINUM” really jumped out at me. Since there is only one graphics card in the universe--namely, the one I wanted to buy!--to which these words could apply, I ordered this one, disregarding the rest of the product description as irrelevant. I did not know at the time that I was going to be fooled into ordering the wrong product through deceptive labeling, so I did not take special care to prevent it from happening.

This is the story that I have given to GameVE in conjunction with my request that they waive the 15% restocking fee, since the mistake was caused by a deception on their part, intentional or otherwise. That I could have noticed the “[PCI-EXPRESS]” warning on the product description and investigated further is irrelevant—I did not, and if GameVE had not falsely advertised this product in the first place, there would never have been a problem. I have never, in any of my communications with GameVE, accepted responsibility for this mistake. I maintain that the blame lies squarely with them. It is the responsibility of the seller (be it GameVE, me, or anyone else) to resolve problems caused by deceptive product labeling. This is the case whether a company sees itself as the “middle man” or not—if you cannot take responsibility for your own mistakes and rectify them, then you have no right to be doing business.

GameVE did not accept these arguments. I was told that I would be granted the privilege of paying GameVE ~$40 instead of ~$85 so that they would be able to make a profit from their mistake. God forbid that a large distributor should be expected to lose a small amount of money in order to make good with a customer. I told them that this was not acceptable and to cancel the RMA for the time being; I would try to sell the card myself.

That didn’t work, so I applied for another RMA a few days later. I tried approaching the issue from a slightly new angle. If a company falsely advertises a product and a customer buys it, he is entitled to receive a full refund—regardless of his reasons for ordering it. This is more than an accepted guideline among businesses—it’s the law! Unfortunately GameVE were not able to understand even this simple and obviously valid argument. What they did understand, however, was that they were in possession of $500+ of my money, and, by God, I wasn’t getting any of it back whether what I said made sense or not! Why? No clue. Perhaps, they are, as my mom (apparently) accused them of being, **’s—whatever one of those is.

So, long story short—err, long—I decided to take it in the ** from GameVE and give them their (admittedly lowered) 8% restocking fee. Bottom line, GameVE apparently don’t care about providing customer satisfaction or behaving ethically—they care about getting your money through any means possible. If you order a $5000 plasma TV and they send you a floppy disk drive, I guess you’ll have to take a $400 restocking fee on top of the return shipping costs if you want to see a refund. Buy from Newegg.com instead…

[P.S. The product to be returned was left at my mother’s house in another part of the state last weekend to be shipped back to GameVE when the time came. She necessarily knows all about this and is justifiably angry. Your allegations that I asked her to call you are false. If she did so, she did it over her own free will. I cannot be held responsible for the unsanctioned actions of other adults.]

Thank you.

We have never stated 1100MHZ Memory Speed, because until today we still DO NOT know the memory speed. Also, you told us that you found out no platinum version after you talked to MSI. But then now, we changed your word again and saying you already known there is no such card when you placed the order. Please once you told a story, stick with it. And make up your mind what you really want to say. Please give all your business to NEWEGG, but DO REMEMBER that they also charge restocking fee for return now. If YOU made a mistake on your order, YOU need to accept the consequences.
You submitted an RMA request for refund on 10/16/2004 because you claimed that you ordered the wrong video card by mistake. According to our policy, this kind of refund will be charged 15% restocking fee. On 10/20/2004, you called us to cancel your RMA request because you do not want to pay any restocking fee. Now you are saying that you do not want this video card again because it is not what you were looking for. You submitted another RMA request on 10/25/2004, before you put the above comment, for full refund. We rejected you for the same reason. On 10/26/2004, we agreed to lower the restocking fee to 8% and you agreed to it. But few hours later, you have your mom called us to tell us that our business won't last and our policy is **, oh yes Halloween is coming, but please no cursing, we all grown up. Please everyone who see this comment, we are sorry that we cannot pay for customer's mistake on any reasons. Also, crying to your mom cannot make us to change our policy. Thank you.

Excellent service, got my motherboard and processor within 4 days from Los Angeles to New Hampshire, with free shipping, and threw in a free game (far cry which is free with purchase of an athlon64 cpu and compatible motherboard). Had the motherboard I wanted (asus a8v wifi g) and processor i wanted (amd athlon 64 fx-53) when I couldn't find them anywhere else.
