Re: This post by Reviewer: memoska dated 6/24/07 7:39 AM
I was never treated like this before by any customer service, just like the other poster said the CSR treated me like a criminal. The order I placed was cancelled and hold was put on my account. I called the customer service, I was told that they do not ship to UPS stores. I asked her to remove the hold on my account so I could place a new order with another address, I was told no.
That was the rudest customer service rep ever
When I read the above post today, I went OMG! because I just recently went through
exactly the same bad experience with HSN recently, when I returned a call from HSN on July 3 about an order I'd
recently placed, they said that "HSN does not ship to UPS stores", when I then canceled the order & placed it using my home address, my account showed as being locked, my wife called HSN back the next day, they said my address couldn't be verified (even though I've placed orders & received packages at my home address before, HSN told her they locked my account & I can no longer place orders ever, even though I was a good customer! I felt that same as reviewer memoska about this, puzzled, about being unfairly treated like a criminal. This review was modified by its author, Jon_M, on

Ordered a Canon SD1100 camera at a time when 16 were stated to be available during the check-out process. After I ordered, I continued to check on availability and the website listed this item to be available for the next 30+ minutes. Two days later, I was emailed a notice of cancellation because they were not able to fulfill the order. The information stated by them was false, and their inference that they were providing information on real-time inventory was not close to being accurate. I spoke with a CSR, and she did not even attempt to provide me with an explanation. They lie.

HSN offered discounted shipping if you ordered more than one jewelry and watch items on the same day. Despite ordering two at the same time, their system would NOT discount the shipping & handling as advertised, following ALL the fine print posted on the web site about the offer. Had to just cancel the order because they don't deserve the business if they can't live up to the offer they make -- it's basically what I'd call a bait and switch!

I placed an order on HSN and experienced horrible customer service. I placed my order and expected delivery date was Dec 24th. When I called to have the shipping address changed, they told me I needed to cancel the entire order itself. So I did and little did they mention that this would change the shipment arrival date, even though the new order was placed 10 minutes after the first one was cancelled, and the package never even came close to leaving their building yet.
Not only that but I placed the order on the 16th, which would have left them with 8 days (6 business days) to get the package to me by the 24th, which they are claiming they can't do. Today is almost midnight on the 17th and they still have yet to ship the package.
When I asked why in the heck they are waiting for so long to ship it, they simply said they don't ship because people like to cancel their order. They said "you'd be surprised at the number of customer who want 72 hours to cancel their order and get mad if they can't". That's ridiculous. I would think there would be a much higher percentage of people who want their order shipped on time, then those who want to be able to cancel it. Heck, if their theory was true, why not wait two weeks to make sure the person *really* wants their order. Cheese.
I'm very disappointed and will likely not shop HSN again. They offered to upgrade me to 4 day shipping for $38! The deal was for free shipping. Is this bait and switch or what?
Even talking to a "senior customer service rep" proved worthless. She just reiterated the response of the first one. They could have saved a future customer by making sure my package gets here. I don't think asking that my package arrive before 8 days goes by is asking too much. They need to fire some customer service reps over there because they are losing customer loyalty over saving themselves a few dollars.
I wish I would have never shopped here. The email replies I received back were worthless, canned responses and not relevant to my question. I had to call twice and even then I didn't get my issue resolved. I eventually had to just tell the senior customer service rep that I was sick of it and to forget about it. They were so defensive for their service that it was just turning ugly.

Per a phone call to HSN, Home Shopping Network does not stand behind the guarantee of the product they sold me which was the line of Ultrex Cookware which they no longer represent.

I purchased a Bravetti convection microwave oven from HSN. I used it only as a microwave. On the third day, the turntable would not function and food burned. I wish I had checked on the product before ordering.... the reviews are all highly negative with the same problem I experienced. When I called customer service on 2/24 and explained that I am a senior citizen and cannot lift the the item, approximately 80 pounds. I was was assured by Linda that HSN would have UPS pick up the package. On 3/2, Judy said the arrangements would be made by the manufacturer and would take several days. I felt reassured when 2 customer reviews on their site indicated that HSN told them their ovens would be picked up by UPS. However today, 3/7 I received a card instructing me to put it in a mailbox or bring it to the postoffice. I wonder whether they pulled the same trick on the other customers who praised them for agreeing to have UPS pick up the carton.

Their customer Service Rep. was rude when I called to check my order status, they expressed they had cancelled my order due to shipping address does not matches to billing address, but actually I can not find HSN has this rule, and when I placed order on-line, it did give you the option to where to ship other than billing address. And yet, after I expressed that I am the card holder , they can verify with me for their concern, the Rep. just said "NO" they have to stick to the rule...for which they already cancelled my order.
1. They accept my order and cancel it without notification.
2. They insist HSN has the rule for shipping address MUST same as billing address, which does not outlined on their website.
3. Their Rep. was so rude, treated me like a criminal when I called to verify the order status.
This is the first time I've ordered from HSN, and I would say it will be the last too.

I purchased pink jewelry box and lavender jewelry box at the same time. For some reason, they shipped it out as two serperate orders. I
e-mailed them for BILLING address update. They ended up shipping Lavender box to the updated BILLING address. I have to contact UPS myself to get the package re-route. (Thank god I work at shipping department before.) The HSN phone reps even told UPS center that the customer will pick up the package at local UPS center. I lived one hour away from the billing address, and I definetly did not tell HSN phone reps that I will pick it up from UPS Center. When I first got the pink jewelry box, it was a big disappointment. The jewelry box looks and feels cheap. The "clear top" is just some cheap plastic material with scratches on the top. It has some sort of glue on the side of the box that I have to use eraser to clean it. The only one advantage is you can see all your jewelry at once. But if you are looking for a value buy. THIS IS NOT THE ONE. Especially you have to pay extra for shipping and handling. I should have stick with my own rule - never ever purchase anything online. I ordered a MagLite flashlight from them and received an email stating that my was accepted and would ship in a few days. Guess what?? A week after it was supposed to ship I get a email stating that my order had been cancelled because it was sold out. Don't waste your time with these jerkoffs.

I placed my order and shortly afterwards received an e-mail thanking me and saying that I would expect to receive my item in 10 days. I received an e-mail 5 days later saying that they had cancelled my order because they had not received enough inventory. I then received another email the next day stating that their records showed that my order had been cancelled and that if it was cancelled in error, I should call their customer service.
It's pretty clear that the Home Shopping Network really dosen't have their Internet ordering act together. To be given a delivery date and then to be told almost a week later that they were out of stock, then to receive an e-mail that looks like they don't realize that they were the ones that had cancelled their order seems pretty disorganized. I would pass on these guys for now. This review was modified by its author, LarryOz, on

I bought a flashlight from them at their own discounted price. The status was 'awaiting shipping confirmation', i had emailed them, and they told me that i would receive my order by the 22 of may. Later on, i get an email saying they didn't have enough stock. Sounds like fraudulent business practice to me, and i will definitely not reccommend this site at all.

Ordered Maglite with 15.00 off new customer coupon and just got my cancellation notice. Site showed they were in stock. Fine if they are out of stock, but I was willing to wait for restocking. This first-time customer is a last-time customer.
Edit: Never got the flashlight or any other response. This review was modified by its author, steelyken, on

Tried to order a Mag-lite flashlight. The account did not say anything (online), and 6 days after ordering, I get an email: "We're sorry, we were unable to complete your order listed below. Unfortunately, HSN did not receive enough of this product to fulfill your order. The order has
been cancelled." Funny, since when I did order this item, there were 6 items still left in stock. BTW, they didn't charge my credit card...
