They have very good prices, but just hope nothing goes wrong.  
 
I ordered a refurbished Plextor PX-715/UF (external USB DVD/RW). I received the unit and it worked fine for reading CDs but would not recognize any DVDs (including the software DVD that came with it). Unity claimed that it was not their problem and I would have to deal with the Plextor warranty even though it arrived DOA. I have never had any retailer before tell me that a DOA item (refurbished or not) was not their problem.  
 
Only after I threatened to contest the charge with the credit card company (and send the drive back) did Unity finally agreed to RMA the drive and send me a "new" one. According to normal Unity policy, I had to pay the shipping charge for the return.  
 
I received the new drive and it was completely DOA (nothing worked). At this point, I returned the drive (at my expense again) for a refund.  
 
I did receive the refund fairly quickly but it was only for the purchase price (not shipping).  
 
Net result was a couple months aggravation, $35 spent on shipping fees, and nothing to show for it.  
 
I will never be buying anything from Unity again.

Ordered a 15" princeton monitor (refurbished) as a christmas present on Dec. 9, shipment time was satisfactory - didn't find out it was defunct until dec. 25 when the present was opened. Unity Electronics was contacted for replacement purposes, and they sent us to princeton to handle the replacement, princeton has now sent us back to unity electronics.  
This is ridiculous, and unless quick action is taken, I will not be ordering from them again.

Ordered 2.5" USB2/1394 external drive at $46.06.  
 
After receipt, found that it would only work with USB1 (kept recycling with USB2 & 1394) - obviously defective or misrepresented product.  
 
Sent email requeting an RMA for return. Was told it was my fault, in that I didn't configure the PC correctly (stange, what's to configure?). I informed him that it was tried an 4 different systems, using different cables, both with and without the power adapter. I told him that I am not new to PC's and PC hardware, being a reseller that has built and delivered nearly 20,000 systems since 1984.  
 
He gave me an RMA number and instructions, begrudgingly, and told me there'd be a 10% restocking fee, which I said was inappropriate.  
 
They only credited $39 (85% of my purchase price), even though I had paid for all shipping, and returned the item totally intact, complete, and resaleable.

In two separate orders, have now ordered eight Maxtor hard drives through them. The first packing job was marginal on two drives. I discussed this issue with Ray. After multiple phone calls with Ray, I felt confident they would package the drives per my instructions. My instructions were IGNORED, and the six drives were packed in a way that can DIRECTLY DAMAGE the product during shipping. (if you put small eggs in a large egg carton, you receive broken eggs, it's not the shipper's fault for mispacked items they ship). I wouldn't be so upset, but I felt confident ordering from them after spending probably over an hour (I can offer my cell phone bill for verification) speaking with Ray on the issue and feeling they would honor my request for better packaging. Small companies die (not grow) if they ignore their customers.

Will not buy from again!! Sent notice that order had shipped (UPS tracking # and all that)When delivery date arived and passed, contacted them as to whereabouts. No answer. Finally found out that package was lost 'inhouse' and never shipped. After 15 days item finally shipped. No offer to upgrade shipping or anything was made after this 'inhouse' error. Still waiting on item.

Ordered a refurbished Seagate drive from Unity but turn out to be DOA. After realizing it I submitted an online RMA request and returned the drive. Received refund notice about a week a later.  
Overall it's been great service and quick response from customer service. Other than slow ground shipment of product, seems like a good online retailer. Will shop again.

Ordered Norton Systemworks CDs only through Yahoo. Ordering was simple, price was average, but UPS ground for 2 CDs without jewel cases was over $6.00! Would recommend to others but warn of high shipping costs!

i bought an oem IBM 73LZX drive from them.  
heres a story with a twist for the better ;)  
 
ordered at a great price, thinking it was a totally hot deal. i received the item shortly thereafter, but checked the serial only to find out the warranty was not current. i called to find out what the deal was.. it wasnt plainly noted at the time of purchase the length of the warranty. they immediately offered to fully refund me. the drive was good, so i kept it.  
 
they answered the phone quickly, and understood that i was a little put off. they were friendly, courteous, and definately willing to stand by the product they sold.  
 
you just cant beat service like that. i am definately a satisfied customer, and i will spend my cash with them again.

I bought a LaCie power adapter from Unity about six months ago and if failed today, which is not normal for these products. I called and talked to Ray Mahany about my issue. Even though the item was out of warranty, he too thought it odd that this item would have such an issue and offered to ask his manager if there was anything they could do for me. After a few moments he was back and he told me that his manager agreed to offer me a replacement as long I were to cover the shipping. I really appreciate Ray and Unity for standing behind the products they sell. They have a continuing customer in me.

I ordered for a NDAS device and was initially skeptical, but i thought i'd take a chance since they are locally based.  
 
Good customer service, timely (actually much faster than expected) delivery.. and of course good rates. I would surely do business with them again.

This company is a wonderful business to deal with! My sales guy Ray, was very helpful in the transaction process. He is very professional and knowledgeable.  
 
I would recommend this company to anyone who wishes to have a excellent product delivered to them with excellent service and communication!  
 
I received my order in a timely fashion and am very happy with the harddrive i purchased. I plan on doing more business with them in the future.

Great online store! I placed my first order about a month ago, it a Western Digital WD10EACS hard drive that went into external USB enclosure. I picked up the Western Digital HD Media Player from Newegg and used the WD10EACS from Unityelectronics to store the movies. I would have bought the drive at Newegg but Unity had it for 20 dollars less for the same brand new drive with 3 years warranty. The hard drive and the Media Player arrived within 3 days and everything works beatifully together!
