I ordered a bunch of mini-dv tapes at a very competitive price. Got e-mail confirmation immediately, then nothing for several days (UPS tracking could not locate the package using the reference as was suggested in the e-mail). Wrote an e-mail asking what's up with my order, got a response (rather quickly to their credit) that it's out of stock and offered to cancel or wait (but no ETA date given). Finally they shipped my order two weeks later, with same UPS ground (I thought sending overnight would be more proper in this situation). So, just proves again -- small store, poor service. Needed the tapes for this Saturday, had to get some from my local brick and mortar instead :(. Stay away.

I ordered this stuff in good faith, but when I tried to find out what the status of my order was immediately after placing it, I found that it was not going to be shipped until 1-2 weeks after the date of my order. I have not yet received anything or any word about my order, and it has been nearly 5 weeks so far.  
 
Much later: I heard from the supplier by telephone that the delay was inadvertent, they gave me a new shipping date, and offered to make  
amends because the original order was (as I reported) delayed, and the specific items were not as described originally. The amends (mainly substitution of another brand with the right specs) were satisfactory, the items were delivered on time as promised, leaving me satisfied at last. I only wish they'd called me to explain all this!

Purchase interface is a little clunky. For example, I was interested in a mini-DV rewinder, but couldn't figure out how to purchase one online, and the website didn't tell me if it was out or something. Might be part of the "hand-off" from the ProTape site to the yahoo store.

50 characters or more for a comment is ridiculous. I want to click little buttons instead.

Purchased 20 Mini-DV tapes and a DV storage rack on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009. Was notified 1 day later that storage rack was out of stock, but they would ship as soon as they received it. They followed through on their word, and I received the entire shipment exactly 1 week after ordering (UPS Ground). Best price on the web, easy checkout, great communication & follow-through. I will definitely do business with Pro-Tape again!

I placed my order on Monday,Dec 29, thinking that even though it was between Christmas and New Years it was still a normal business day. I had a shoot coming up in 2 weeks and figured that was plenty of time to get the tape, but just for insurance I wrote a note for them to please notify me if there would be any delay. On tuesday I got a call from George to say that their next UPS pickup would not be until Monday, Jan 6th and asking me when I needed the tapes. After I told him the situation he said he'd upgrade my shipping to get it here. He did and the tapes got here on Wednesday, Jan 8. I don't think you can ask for much better than that. I have told several people about this example of excellent service. And. . . They had the best price around by about 20%. Pro-Tape will definately be my first choice for future tape purchase!
