I am glad that some folks have had a decent experience recently. I will not ever do business with STP again. The UPS return service label was not in my package in spite of the insistance by STP customer service that it was and I must need "another" one. It is now 36 hours from my first contact and I have yet to receive the label that they have claimed they would send. The latest word is that I should receive the return label by 7 pm tomorrow. That will be nearly 72 hours from my first request for the label and I am being told that I was not sent one because it was not clear that I wanted a "refund", I was just asking to "return" an item. WTF? Can any of you explain why this makes a difference as to whether or not I am "provided" the return label that they claim to have sent? I have never received a UPS return label from this company. Instead I have received nothing short of a pathological passive/aggresive game with customer service and the attempt at intimidation by sending back a portion of my e-mails, clearly ommitting the part where I asked for a label. I am now eight e-mails and three phone calls later and I still do not have a UPS return label. Instead they chose to arrange UPS pick up which is impossible as I am not at home during the day. At one point I was told this would be an option but apparently it was the only option for them and as it was not a workable option it still meant I could not return the item and they would not have to refund my money.
The item I ordered was clearly second quality but not advertised as such.
If you feel like playing games go ahead and order from these folks.
I really like the "beliefs" section of the website where they claim to have "ethics consistent with the faith of the owners in Jesus Christ and his teachings".
Yeah, right. I have been jerked around and had my e-mails altered to allow the company to believe that they are in the right.
The last e-mail says that my money has been refunded to my credit card but I have not seen it on my account yet. In any case no one should have to spend this amount of time and energy in order to return faulty merchandise. It is hard for me to believe that so many different people in the company seemed to misunderstand what I was asking for. This review was modified by its author, huts, on

I ordered some sunglasses from them, $72 after a 20% off coupon code plus a free shipping code, which they were generous enough to manually stack (the system only accepts one coupon code). The "retail" price of the sunglasses according to them was $200, but they can be had for $150 elsewhere. Still, a great deal. The best surprise is that it came with a pre-printed UPS shipping label for a completely hassle-free return...sort of; the return policy states that your return will be minus $5.25 unless the error for your return is on their part: still cheaper than if I would need to return it via UPS where it would probably cost $8 or $10, but completely free would be even better.
I would order from them again.

I order from STP all the time and have always been pleased with their products and service. Their prices are excellent; you can find some really great, name-brand stuff at blowout prices. I shop primarily for outdoor gear, but they seem to have a little bit of everything, including high-fashion clothing like Italian shoes and English coats.
Shipping is fast and returns are painless since they include a return label with each shipment, and exchanges for a different size are free. They do charge a small re-stocking fee ($5.25) for exchanges but this is more than made up for by the free return shipping. Because of this, though, I'd recommend you be relatively certain about what size you take since the savings can evaporate with multiple exchanges.
Overall, Sierra Trading Post is a great company and I recommend them without reservation.

normally I would'n bother writing reviews, but their shipping and then exchange (I ordered wrong sizes) were very fast and the customer service person was extra helpful. Great prices too.

I made a purchase on 11/7 and it shipped the next day (with notification of shipment). Since it was going to APO, it was USPS Priority and I did not expect it for 10 days or so. Got it on 11/14, a mere 6 days later. The ordering and shipping process was excellent. I highly recommend STP and plan to use them again. I'd definitely recommend them to other APO/FPO recipients.

I was able to get two high quality lighters for the lowest price I was able to find on the internet after I applied a $10 off coupon. One of the lighters arrived defective but it was a common problem for these lighters so I returned it asking for a replacement.
They emailed me saying that they made it a return instead of replacement and refunded me the full price of the lighter even when I purchased it with the coupon. The customer service woman was nice but if you call at night she seems a little agitated.
A great company to deal with, prices certainly beat overstock.com and has much better service.

Their order processing is slow, my order took 2 days before it was shipped. The product I received did not look exactly like the picture shown.

Have ordered from Sierra Trading Post several times and each experience with this vendor has been excellent. Orders shipped quickly and always arrived on time or earlier than expected. No mistakes even though some orders consisted of many different products. Emailed questions regarding products or orders were always answered promptly. One order needed to be changed and this was handled in a friendly and timely manner by Marie, one of their customer service agents.

I have been a repeat customer of STP for about 2 years now and have nothing but praise for their prices and product.
The one return I made went well and my card was credited promptly. Their "bargain barn" deals are excellent buys if you can find the color you want and your size.
The only thing I can really complain about is the way the seal (or rather don't properly seal) up the shipping boxes. The tape they use just doesn't stick and several of the boxes have been delivered by UPS with the tape hanging, or torn, and the box flaps open. Nothing has ever been missing (yet) but it's bound to happen.
My latest order is due here tomorrow according to the UPS tracker.

I had an excellent experience dealing with this store. No problems ordering, tracking, or with the product itself. And the price was unbelievable. Very happy - so happy in fact, that I had to give a rating because I know how much I appreciate the ratings on the stores myself. I will definitely buy more from this store in the future.

I've placed dozens of orders with STP over the years and its always a great experience. I receive order confirmation almost immediately, receive my items quickly, and the shipments are always securely packed (big wholesalers don't always do a good job of that). Several times I've had to return items because of sizing or quality problems and my credits have always been promptly issued. This even immediately after Christmas, when I'm sure they had plenty of other returns to process. One time there was an extra undershirt I hadn't ordered in the package, and I called and told their customer service and they not only gave me a credit but told me to keep the shirt. A similiar situation a few months ago, I ordered two Kelty daypacks and received only one of the model I'd ordered, the second was a model that was about $40 more. I called customer service and they issued me a credit for the full cost of the pack (I'd have been happy if they only refunded the difference) and told me to keep the pack. Outstanding! I hardly ever shop anywhere else now, except for REI which is also one of the best. Honestly, STP and REI should be the standard against which all other online merchants are judged. Now before anyone starts thinking "shill" just look at my other reviews and see if I gush like this about anyplace else except REI. In fact, I'd almost say that if you managed to have a bad experience with STP, you're either a) cursed or b) a huge pita anyway. Just my .02.

I placed the order Saturday at 6:40 am. The order was confirmed at 6:45 am. I received a shipping notification with tracking number on Monday at 11:44 am. UPS delivered it Thursday at 10:41 am.
It was packaged securely and exactly what I ordered. Put it on and went out into the raging blizzard. Could not find anything to be unhappy with. I would order from them again without hesitation.

I've ordered from Sierra Trading Post several times now and have always been happy. The product is good and their shipping is excellent. I did return one shirt because it was really ugly and not quite what I expected but it was hassle free to do so. I highly recommend this retailer.
