* Matsonic 9337C Socket 478 DDR Retail Box
* Intel Pentium™ 4 2.40GHz 512K 533FSB S.478 Retail Box

* ATX Deluxe MidTower 400W P.S. w/2 Front USB
When it arrived (2 weeks later, the bios reported that the cpu had been changed and the mb would not operate the dram at 400, when I change the bios settings it locked up. I called the "techs" and they said the ram problably was not compatible with the mb. I asked why would they sell incompatible ram from the drop down menu for the barebones ordering page. He said that the buyer should know more about the products that they want to purchase! Anyway, he suggested that I keep trying to get the mb to work on my own! I said this was not acceptable and demanded an RMA#. He would not issue one (10 minutes to closing time!) and said I would have to request one online.
Four days later, no call or email. I call them, the say that they have no record of the request, and that I must have sent the email to the wrong address (this is an email form page on their website). After a few choice words by me, he gave me an alternate email address. So I send in the request again.
2 days later, I get a response saying "are you sure? Are you aware of the 20% restocking fee?" I reply YES, SEND THE DAM*&^ RMA#!!!!
So I finally get the RMA#, UPS the whole kit and today they call....
Him: Uhh yes, we got your return, and um, the ram is not ours...
Me: What do you mean?
Him: Yeah, the motherboard works fine but you sent the wrong ram, its no good, we don't sell that kind.
He's telling me a lie. I checked the model number of the dram when I had it and it was what it was suppossed to be.
Me: No way, your telling me this because you guys are mad that I'm returning the stuff. If that ram is wrong, someone in your assembly room used the wrong item.
Him: Impossible, that couldn't happen.
Me: Really? Then why was there a wrapper for a 2.66 ghz cpu in the box, yet the actual cpu on the board was the 2.4 I ordered.
Him: Well sometimes they do that accidently>
Well, anyways, after I cursed more than I needed to, he tells me that they are going to issue the refund, less the cost of the DDR400 ram. The ram will be sent back to me. What do you want to bet that it will be some burned up module from some other system? These guys were rude, uncaring, uncooperative, unresponsive and just plain smug. I'm screwed because I paid by checking card, LIVE AND LEARN! Always use your visa or mc! I don't know what to do now. I guess I'm SOL and can only vent and rave on sites like this so someone else doesn't get ripped off. BTW, I ordered my new system from NewEgg.com and Accupc.com and got the ram from Crucial. I got free shipping, fast order processing and everything works like a charm.
Buyer Beware! ProNETsale.com blows kous-kous!
